Author Notes: Well, this is my second fanfiction. I got some ideas to make another fic but I had not started it up until now.

Currently I have more than enough idea how this fiction should proceed and in which direction it should. I will surely work to improve this if you provide me any inputs in the review.

Also in this story the ages of some characters might have been altered. Here Yugao and Kurenai were five years old at the time of Kyuubi's Attack.

Daily Life Between Crimson and Crescent

Chapter 1 : The Contract Surprise

Sometimes treaties are made between families and clans to strengthen the ties between them. There are many clans that reside in Konoha like the Uchiha, Hyuuga, Inuzuka, Aburame, Yamanaka, Nara, Akimichi and many other lesser clans, due to their status or the number of members they have like Uzumaki, Namikaze, Uzuki, Yuhi, Hatake, Sarutobi, Kurama, Higurashi.

Well, Uzumaki and Namikaze clans are considered one of the most powerful clans due to their bloodlines of Chakra Chains, Mind Eye of Kagura, Inherit Knowledge of Seals, Vitality, High Chakra reserves, Natural Inherit Speed, High Intelligence, Natural Resilience for some of which Kushina Uzumaki and Minato Namikaze are famous for.

Both clans became a joint Uzumaki-Namikaze Clan due to their last member marrying each other.

Uzumaki-Namikaze Clan always had good relations with Yuhi and Uzuki Clans, but this knowledge is not common, and they kept their inter relations mostly to themselves.

So, as I was saying, forming treaties between clans to strengthen the ties between them is common like Sharing the Lands of their compounds, helping each other at the time of crisis and many other things like forming Marriage Contracts.

Well, when two people are bound by the Marriage Contract it mostly falls on them whether they want to proceed with it or not, when they reach the age of maturity.

But if such a situation gets a very unique twist, then what will happen? For that you have to read the story and find out because such things are bound to be very interesting. So, lets us see then, shall we?

|| === Uzumaki Namikaze Residence (9 Months Before Kyuubi Attack) === ||

"UGHHHH!" exclaimed Kushina Uzumaki Namikaze (generally referred as Kushina Uzumaki) as she puked for the second time in the morning with her face becoming a little pale because of that.

"Easy there, I think you should go to the hospital Kushina. This is the third time that you vomited continuously. If there is some problem then the doctors will be able to treat you quickly," said the newly instated Fourth Hokage Minato Uzumaki Namikaze (generally referred as Minato Namikaze) to his wife as he was rubbing her back to ease her suffering.

"*Huff* I think you're right Minato. Maybe I will go in the afternoon for the check up," said Kushina as she was regaining her breath.

"Fine, maybe I will finish the work early at the Hokage Office and make something for you today," answered Minato as he was donning his unique Hokage robes.

"OH, thank you so much Minato!" exclaimed a happy Kushina as she hugged her husband.

"It's ok, never mind. I am going to the Hokage Office, meet you in the evening, bye" said Minato as he was slipping into his ninja sandals while exiting their home through the door.

"Ok, have a nice day."

"You, too."

|| === Konoha Hospital === ||

We can see Kushina nervously fidgeting in her seat after the doctor has performed the tests on her and now, she is waiting for the results to come.

The female doctor after calculating the results turned towards Kushina with a happy smile on her face and said, "Congratulations."

"What?" asked a confused Kushina as she did not understand why the doctor was congratulating her for.

"You're pregnant. Your due date is… let's see, October 10."

"Uh really, dattebane."

|| === Uzumaki Namikaze Residence === ||

"Hello Minato, are you home?" inquired a happy Kushina as she was dying to share the good news with her husband.

"Yes, I am here in the kitchen," answered Minato as he came to the hallway to see what got her wife in such a happy mood.

"Minato, we are going to have a baby," said a joyous Kushina as she saw her husband just reaching the hallway.

"Huh, A baby…?" questioned Minato as he was processing the sentence again and again.

"I am going to be a mother, ya know!"

"And I am going to be a father", said Minato with some disbelief as he was still processing her earlier statement.

"I am going to be a mother, ya know!" exclaimed with joy as she moved towards her husband.

"Imagine that I am going to be a father," said Minato happily, finally understood what his wife wanted to say.

After that both soon to be parents hugged each other to celebrate such a joyous moment.

|| === Yuhi Residence (2 months before Kyuubi Attack) === ||

Here we find the Fourth Hokage Minato Namikaze at the Yuhi Residence talking with his subordinate Jonin and comrade, Shinku Yuhi.

Shinku has black hair, and very distinctive ringed, red eyes. He also has a very prominent jawline and wore the standard Konoha shinobi outfit with what appeared to be slightly longer sleeves than usual, shinobi sandals, his forehead protector which he wore like a bandanna, and a flak jacket. Shinku also carries a sword strapped vertically over his right shoulder and a small cylindrical object strapped to his right lower back which is normal on-duty shinobi attire.

Currently he was just in his blue shinobi shirt and pants sitting on the dining table with a strict posture as he was listening to his friend and Hokage situated in front of him, about a proposal.

"Well, you know Shinku that shinobi expectancy is very low, anything can happen anytime. Just a month ago, me and Kushina found out that the baby we are going to have, is a boy, who is due in just two months. I was inspired by my Sensei's novel the 'Tale of Gutsy Ninja' and thought of naming the boy Naruto and Jiraiya as his Godfather. I am so happy currently that we are going to start our family soon. Also, you and I have been friends for a long time. Our clans have supported each other in a time of need, and I want this relationship between us and our clans to continue, so today I have a proposal for you, you can reject it if you want to, it will not hamper our relationship but just hear me out first," explained Minato as was removing a scroll from his flak jacket and kept it on the table.

"I am ready to hear anything you have to say Minato, just say it what the proposal is about," said Shinku as he was thinking what his friend was going to say.

"I know that you have a five-year-old daughter Kurenai, and my son Naruto is just going to be born in two months. I was thinking to strengthen our friendship and to tie our clans in a treaty through the Marriage Contract between them. The age difference between them is not much and in the shinobi world it is hardly any issue. And by the Konoha Charter regarding the Clan Laws, any Marriage Contract formed between the Clans can be disputed and nullified by the ones who are participating in it until and unless both of them have reached the age of 17. So, if any of them, let's take the example Naruto, have yet to reach that age even if the other has crossed that mark, they still can nullify the contract. By this way, if our children are not happy with each other and have found their own life partners then they can just nullify it and if not then they can marry each other. This way we are not even forcing them into anything and also securing their future. So, what do you think about this?" asked Minato after explaining what he had in his mind regarding their children.

"Minato, my friend. I did not know that you thought of our clan in such a high regard that you will propose the Marriage Contract between our families. It just shows how generous you are, I accept the proposal," answered Shinku in happiness as Minato started to unroll the contract and signed his name with blood at the bottom while passing the fine print towards Shinku to read the contract and sign it with name and blood to seal the deal.

"Have you talked about this with Kushina?" questioned Shinku as he saw a mischievous smile started to form on Minato's face.

"Currently No. This is a surprise and a prank to her. She had always done many pranks on me, this time I will prank her," said Minato as both thought the face Kushina will make when she hears the news and started laughing as Shinku signed the contract with his name and blood.

"Here it's done," said Shinku as he passed the contract to Minato who created two copies of it.

"Why did you create the copies of the contract, Minato?" asked a confused Shinku as Minato rolled all the three contracts.

"The fine print will remain in the Hokage Vault, and these two copies are for Kurenai and Naruto. We cannot tell them currently as Naruto is still in the womb and Kurenai is not mature enough. So, I am going to seal the copies with a time seal on the hand of Naruto and Kurenai. This seal is taught to me by Kushina as it will not be visible until the time which is set for release. So Shinku, can you call Kurenai?" said Minato while Shinku called for his daughter who was in her room down the hallway playing with her wooden shuriken as she was going to start the Academy in a few months.

"So, what are you going to set the release time for the seal? Because it must be the same time for both of them," inquired Shinku as he was hearing her daughter's footsteps increasing as she was reaching the dining room.

"It will be around 7 years, give and take. Because till then Kurenai will be a Kunoichi at the age of 12 and I know my son will inherit my intellect so he will be able to understand the whole situation regarding the contract. And also, me and Kushina will be there for him to understand the true meaning of it, so you do not have to worry about it," explained Minato as a five-year-old Kurenai came to the kitchen at the dining table.

"Yes Daddy, why have you called me?" asked Kurenai to her daddy as she was gazing at her daddy's friend who offered a simple smile towards her.

"Well, sweety, I wanted you to meet my friend. He is the Fourth Hokage of Hidden Leaf VIllage, Minato Namikaze," said Shinku as he saw his daughter standing with her eyes wide and started to hastily bow towards him which Minato stopped by softly grabbing her shoulders.

"Please Kurenai-chan, none of that. Until and unless you have joined the shinobi force and started working under me, till then please do not bow," said Minato softly as he settled himself again on the chair of the dining table while keeping an eye contact with Kurenai.

"Yes Hokage-sama," said Kurenai as she fell to the manner and etiquette her father has imparted to her for addressing other people.

"Can you show me your hand, Kurenai-chan? I wanted to give something to you, which is a very important thing that I cannot just give to anybody," requested Minato as he saw she look towards her father, who just nodded his head.

Slowly Kurenai raised her hand, palm up, towards Minato who took her hand softly and started drawing the seal with the ink and brush he had in his waist pouch.

"What are drawing on my hand, Hokage-sama?" asked Kurenai shyly as she was facing the Hokage of her village with no knowledge of the scribbles painted on her hand.

"This is a seal. It is one of the rare ninja arts who most shinobi do not use nowadays. It is called Fuinjutsu, i.e, the Art of Sealing. It is the most powerful ninja art if used correctly but only few of them are able to grasp its concepts," explained Minato as he completed the seal and sealed the scroll inside the seal which after completion slowly disappeared as it was not even there in the first place.

"Wh-Wha-What? Hokage-sama did you just put that scroll inside of my hand," stuttered Kurenai as she was totally bewildered by seeing the scroll and seal disappear suddenly.

Both Shinku and Minato had amused expressions on their faces as they were controlling their laughter by watching the state of Kurenai.

Removing a storage scroll and kunai from the back pouch, Minato put both things in front of the table to catch the attention of Kurenai and teach her some basic art of sealing.

"See Kurenai-chan, this is a Kunai, and this is a storage scroll. These are purely two different entities but if I left the Kunai here in the open then it can harm anyone in the near vicinity of it. This storage scroll uses the basics of Sealing Arts. Fuinjutsu means simply storing something inside the other whether it is a weapon, chakra, utilities or other things. Here the storage scroll helps me to seal this kunai inside of it but it does not become the kunai itself. As you know, kunai is sharp which can cut but this storage scroll cannot cut anything," expounded Minato at a slow place by giving the demonstration so Kurenai can understand everything easily.

Kurenai having a quick grasping power, she was able to comprehend everything much easily and clearly after the demonstration performed by the Hokage.

"Ok it's time. Kushina will be waiting for me at home, and I have to complete a little bit of work in the Hokage Office too. I will see you then Shinku and you too Kurenai-chan. Enjoy your childhood and study well as the Academy is going to start in a few months. Until then good night," said Minato as he patted Kurenai on the head and exchanged a few farewell greetings with Shinku as he departed towards Hokage Office while Kurenai all the time was seeing him go and a sudden thought came to her.

"But I didn't even ask him what was there in the scroll that he sealed into my hand," thought to herself out loud which got her a few amused chuckles from her father.

Seeing him still laughing at her, she started pouting with an embarrassed blush on her face as she asked the question that was plaguing her thoughts, "What is there in the scroll, Daddy?"

"Well, I do not know, maybe you can ask Hokage-sama next time you see him, or you can just wait, maybe in time you will know," answered Shinku as he told his daughter that do washup and dinner will be ready in thirty minutes.

Kurenai was just standing there thinking about what her father said and gazed where the seal was there just a few minutes before shaking her head and proceeded to clean herself up so she could have her dinner.

|| === Uzuki Residence (2 months before Kyuubi Attack) === ||

At the same time when Minato and Shinku were having their talk, we find Kushina in the Uzuki Residence talking with her longtime friend Kira Uzuki who has gone on many missions with her from where they have become fast friends. They have many things in common like the love they have for their clan, their interest in Kenjutsu, their unconditional love they have for their family etc.

Currently they are situated on the couches around the coffee table so that Kushina should not have an unease regarding the baby she is carrying. On the other end of the couch were Kira Uzuki and his wife Miyuki Uzuki who was suffering from rare sickness. Both Kira and Kushina had made many efforts to find the cure for it but all the searches had left them empty handed. She has many times asked for Minato to send a message for Tsunade to come to the village but every time Tsunade denies their request saying there is nothing left for her in the village to come back. All three of them know that Miyuki is going to die in the coming months, but Miyuki always kept herself composed in front of her daughter to not let Yugao worry about her. She had told both Kira and Kushina not to tell Yugao about the sickness she is suffering currently, and both had kept their promise till this day.

"Hello Kushina, how are you?" asked Miyuki with a small on her face from where she was situated on the couch besides her husband.

"I'm fine, Miyuki. How about you? Are you feeling well? Did you have any improvement in your condition?" inquired Kushina with a concerned look on her face to see her friend in such a situation.

"*Cough* Well I'm fine but the sickness is getting worse and worse *Cough* day by day. It is getting harder for me to hide this from Y-*Cough*-Yugao-chan," said Miyuki, having a little problem holding a conversation.

Kushina could look on only in sadness towards her friend Miyuki. Due to being in friendship with Kira, she got introduced to his girlfriend, Miyuki. At the start Miyuki was jealous of Kushina due to her being so close to her boyfriend but as the time passed on all the misunderstanding between them got resolved they became close friends over the time. All three of them used to laugh while thinking about that time but when Miyuki got pregnant with Yugao and had complications from childbirth, which left her weak, she got contacted with a rare sickness which started to deteriorate her health little by little. Since Yugao saw her mother like this from the start, she was unable to find any problems with her thinking it was normal for her.

Kushina wanted to change the negative atmosphere, she started to grin as she unsealed a scroll and placed it at the middle of the coffee table in front of her friends, which attracted their attention as the scroll looked very different from the normal scrolls they have seen.

"What is it, Kushina? Why are you so happy about something all of a sudden?" asked Kira cautiously with narrowed eyes as he knew that an Uzumaki having that kind of a smile can only mean one thing in his mind, a prank.

"Why don't you open the scroll and read its contents?" answered Kushina with a question as little by little her smile was widening by the seeing the face Kira was making.

Following her advice, Kira opened the scroll and slowly read its contents in his mind as his eyes started to get wider further and further and, in the end, he was thoroughly shocked to say anything as he started to look repeatedly from the scroll to Kushina and again towards the scroll.

By seeing her husband in such a state of shock she took the scroll and started to read herself, only to get shocked herself but recovered quickly as she started to smile with a little bit of tears in happiness.

Seeing both in such a state, Kushina was savoring every moment and every reaction that was going through the faces of the Uzuki family. After getting her fill, she moved her face towards Kira and was waiting for him to recover from the shock so she could talk about the proposal she handed to them.

Finally returning to the living from wherever his mind has wandered to due to the shock, he turned towards Kushina and just asked one thing, "Is it real...?"

"Yes, I always thought about this. If I had a son, then I would want him to marry your daughter. When I got the news a month ago that the baby, I'm carrying is going to be a boy, my Naruto, I was so excited, you know. So, I thought since we are such close friends and our clans always helped and supported each other in a time of need, why not have our children married to each other to create a closer bond between our clans. You both also know the Konoha Charter regarding the Clan Laws for any Marriage Contract between the clans. If my son Naruto and your daughter Yugao will have any issue with it, they can simply nullify the contract. Our clans will not be affected by it but if they are compatible with each other then I will get a very sweet and beautiful daughter-in-law. I have already signed the contract with both my blood and name and if you agree with this proposal, you can also do the same and we can seal the deal here," explained Kushina with happiness as she was waiting for the answer from her friends.

In the eyes of Kira Uzuki there was only one emotion that was reflecting, and it was happiness, as he signed the contract in both blood and name while handing it back to Kushina who made two copies for the contract.

Before they ask about the copies, Kushina interrupted them by saying, "The Fine print of the contract is going to be in the Hokage Vault and these two copies I have made are for Naruto and Yugao. I'm going to seal these copies in the hands of Naruto and Yugao with a time seal while setting its release around seven years, give and take, so both will be mature enough till that time. I know Naruto is going to inherit Minato intellect as it is one of the dominant traits in his bloodline and If there was any problem arises regarding the contract then me and Minato will handle it swiftly."

"Speaking of Minato, did you tell him about it?" asked Miyuki as she was amused and exasperated at the same time by seeing the mischievous look in the eyes of Kushina and got her answer from that.

"No, it's going to be one of the greatest surprises or pranks for him. I wanted to see how he is going to react to it," said Kushina as all three friends started laughing before Kira asked how she was going to return the Fine print of contract in the Hokage Vault which she replied in only two words, Seduction and Shadow Clones.

After the amusement died down, Kushina asked to call Yugao so she could seal the contract copy in her hand, which they complied as Yugao came down from the first floor to the main hall seeing her parents and aunt Kushina waiting for her arrival.

"Hello Aunt Kushina, how are you? How is the baby?" said a five-year-old Yugao happily as she bounced towards her with a cute smile on her face as she put a hand on her stomach.

"Hello, Yugao-chan. I am fine and the baby is fine too. He sometimes gives me problems, but everything is going nice other than that. So Yugao-chan, can you show your hand to me, I wanted to give you something very important," said Kushina to Yugao as she raised her hand, palm up, and started making the seal with the brush and inkpot she unsealed from the seal in her hand.

"Um. What are you doing? I cannot understand it, Aunty," said Yugao as Kushina completed the seal and sealed the scroll inside it with the seal slowly vanishing in seconds. The question led to a small lecture by Kushina to Yugao regarding Sealing Arts and the basic understanding of seals. When she was finished, Yugao was mesmerized by how such things are possible with just some tiny scribbles.

After completing her impromptu lecture, she turned towards her friends and said her farewell greetings as she wanted to reach home before Minato realizes this and spoils her surprise for him. As she departed from the Uzuki Residence, she just thought one thing in mind with a smile on her face.

"Things are going to be interesting from now on..."

This is the end of the first chapter of my second fic.

It is going to be more than just interesting. I am looking forward to seeing this fiction become successful and I think this idea was rarely implemented by anyone.

Well, this fiction is different and until you read the future chapters, you would be able to tell.
