A/N: I am so sorry for the delay. You eventually get sick of everything, when after rewriting one chapter more than five times you still can't get it right. Well, finally it's done. I hope it's okay. Please, leave a review. The next update should be faster.

Thanks for reading!

"I'm telling you, Kurt. You're so much better than all of these preppy boys." Mercedes said trying to calm down her best friend. "There is no Rachel – which is a big plus."

Kurt sat down on his bed gripping the phone tightly in his hand. "But you don't know them. They are all ambitious. With Blaine gone, they suddenly have a chance to become a lead singer and…well, I don't think my voice is masculine enough."

"Kurt Hummel, your voice is freaking perfect and if they can't hear that, they must be deaf!" A small smile formed on Kurt's lips. "Besides, your boyfriend is supposed to be the one to convince you that you're the best! Maybe calling him would calm you down a little bit?" She asked sweetly.

Kurt's cheeks flushed a little. "Uh…yeah, I could use some words of encouragement from him, but my problems seem so unimportant compared to his. I don't want him to worry about me, when there's nothing to worry about."

"I don't think I quite follow you. Is there something wrong with Blaine?" She asked worriedly. "I still think that you owe me and the whole glee club an explanation. Seriously, no one is naïve enough to believe that it's all because of money. I have a feeling that he's hiding – that you're both hiding something else."

Kurt sighed. "Mercedes, you know you're my best friend and I trust you with my life, but it's not my story to tell. You just have to wait for Blaine to open up to you. Just don't pressure him, okay? His life is complicated enough as it is."

Mercedes had been Kurt's best friend for a long time and he knew that she was dying to know everything, but she only said: "Ugh, fine."

Kurt looked up at the clock upon a wall and sighed. "I guess I need to go." He said reluctantly.

"Good luck." She said. "Don't forget that you're the best! Oh…and we need to have a sleepover!"

"We really do. I miss you. We'll talk about it later." Kurt said smiling. "Talk to you soon, 'Cedes!"

"Bye!" Kurt hung up and put the phone on the coffee table.

He sighed loudly trying to prepare himself mentally for his upcoming performance. Kurt knew that he shouldn't be so nervous about it, but he couldn't help it. There were so many people wanting that solo, that it would be really difficult to get it. Of course Kurt wasn't the one to give up so he would fight for his chance to shine in the spotlight for as long as he could even though it still seemed a little out of his reach.

Kurt believed that he was meant for singing on the stage in front of the cheering crowd, but sometimes his dreams seemed impossible to achieve. He knew that high school was just a foretaste of what was to come in the adult life. Kurt was aware that he was going to be faced with thousands of people like Rachel Berry and there was just one way to survive in the battle for spotlight – be one of them.

A soft knock pulled Kurt out of his thoughts. He stood up from the bed and walked over to the wooden door. He opened it and his eyes almost popped out his head in surprise. Dark gelled-down hair, brown cardigan and black pants which weren't exactly skinny, but not baggy either. And of course there was a blinding smile attached to his face.

Kurt couldn't help, but smile back. Blaine's smile was infectious. "What are you doing here?" He asked letting the shorter boy come in.

"Um…I was going to give my boyfriend a good-luck kiss before his performance, but seeing his reaction, maybe I should kiss Nick or Jeff instead. Although I don't know how that would end." Blaine said in false annoyance.

Kurt closed the door behind him. "Jeff wouldn't probably mind that much." He said wrapping his arms around Blaine's neck. "So what were you saying about that kiss?" Blaine laughed and leaned forward pressing his lips softly to Kurt's. "That's better."

They pulled away and Blaine looked around the room. "I don't remember this room looking that…normal."

Kurt shrugged. "I was trying to tolerate their tendency to leave all the dirty clothes, magazines and papers all over the floor, but when Jeff decided that my bed was a good place to leave half-eaten box of pizza and the sauce ended up all over the sheets, I had to stop it. So I threatened to burn all of their comic books and it worked."

"Clearly." Blaine said looking at the neatly-vacuumed bookshelves. "How you managed to do that I will never know."

"Yeah, I still can't believe it myself." Kurt said proudly.

Blaine turned his front to him and smiled sheepishly. "Okay, I will be honest with you. I'm not here only to ease you nerves before your audition, though from what I see you don't really need that."

"Are you kidding me?" Kurt asked. "I'm freaking out!"

Blaine rolled his eyes. "Oh, please. You're perfectly fine." Kurt raised his eyebrow waiting for more explanation. "Besides, that's not the point. Wes asked me yesterday to help the council pick the soloists." Kurt nodded his head. "They probably don't need my help, so I assume that Wes just thinks that I'm bored out of my mind at home, which is not exactly a lie." Blaine's smile fell and he sighed.

"What's wrong?" Kurt asked resting his hand on Blaine's shoulder. The hazel-eyed boy turned his big sad eyes to him. The previous cheerfulness was completely gone. Kurt cuddled his hand to Blaine's cheek trying to bring some comfort. Blaine's mood swings were starting to scare Kurt a little bit.

Blaine shook his head and his famous smile was once again present. "We can talk about it later. Now you need to do everything in your power to get that solo. Nothing can distract you."

Kurt eyed his boyfriend suspiciously. "Blaine."

"No, listen to me." Blaine said firmly. "Clear you mind and don't think about anything that can distract you." Kurt opened his mouth to argue, but Blaine put his finger on his lips. "I promise we'll talk about this later, but right now don't worry about me and just focus on your upcoming performance."

Kurt looked deeply into Blaine's hopeful and determined eyes and sighed. "Fine. But this conversation isn't over."

Blaine smiled gratefully. He kissed quickly Kurt's lips leaving him wanting for more and took his hand guiding him out of the room. Kurt locked his dorm room and grabbed Blaine's outstretched hand smiling at their entwined finger. "You're voice is amazing. Just show all of your singing skills and you'll be fine. I bet you don't even have to jump on the furniture to get that solo." Blaine said as they started walking down the corridor.

Kurt raised his eyebrow. "I don't think that jumping on anything is adequate with Don't cry for me Argentina."

"Yeah, probably not." Blaine agreed. "Just remember to keep eye-contact with members of the council throughout the whole performance and show your emotions." Kurt nodded his head trying to remember all the tips. He knew that he wouldn't remember much from it during his audition, since his mind tended to forget about the whole world when he had a possibility to sing, but maybe it would turn out to be helpful in some way.

Kurt looked at the wide grin on Blaine's face. He was a little surprised that his boyfriend was so cheerful. It was probably very hard to be in this school knowing that it was no longer a place that he could call home. "Isn't it hard for you to come here?"

Blaine smiled turned sad. "Yeah, a little, but it's the least of my problems, so I don't want to spend too much time moping over it." Blaine stopped walking and turned Kurt around, so that they were standing face to face. He put his hands on Kurt's shoulders and squeezed them reassuringly. "This moment is about you, so please don't make it about me, okay? I'm grateful for your support and everything, but for once focus on your goal and forget about everything."

"Easier said than done. I can't just simply stop thinking about you." Kurt said receiving a funny look from Blaine.

"I'm flattered." The shorter boy said resting his hand over his heart. "But there are times when you have to be a little selfish for your own good." Blaine leaned forward and whispered into Kurt's hear tickling his skin with his hot breath. "Besides, these ugly wrinkles on your forehead that appear when you're worried, don't look good on you."

Kurt immediately pulled away. "Do not joke about wrinkles in my presence ever again!" Blaine laughed shoving his hands into his pockets. "This is not funny!"

"It is." Blaine said. "And I was only joking. You would look sexy with wrinkles."

Kurt punched Blaine playfully in the shoulder. "I have no idea why I even put up with you."

Blaine smirked. "Me neither."

"Okay, as nice as talking to you is, we should probably get going." Kurt said reluctantly. He grabbed Blaine's hand as they walked down the stairs.

"Yeah, a lecture from Wes about consequences of being late is something that I would like to avoid." Blaine said as they walked side by side.

Finally, they reached the common room where the practices where usually held. All the candidates had to wait in the corridor for their turn to audition. Blaine kissed softly Kurt's cheek and waved to his former teammates. "Hey, guys! Good luck." And then he entered the room.

Kurt sighed dreamily and turned around to look at other Warblers. His jaw dropped open as soon as he saw that it was a rather small group. Only Zack, Nick and Jeff were sitting on the leather sofa. They seemed as surprised as he was, but probably from completely different reasons. "What is Blaine doing here?" Jeff asked once he recovered from the shock.

"Don't worry, Jeff. Your chances of getting the solo aren't any smaller." Kurt said. "Blaine's only here to help." He sat down beside Jeff. "Is anyone else coming?"

"Luckily, no." Nick said.

"I don't get it. Isn't it a great privilege to have a solo?" Kurt asked, confused. He had expected everyone to come to audition.

"Of course it is." Jeff replied with a small smile. "But now with our lead singer gone, everyone is afraid of responsibility. The group needs someone with a strong voice and personality to lead the group all the way to Nationals." Kurt nodded his head in understanding. When he thought about it, Jeff's words actually made sense. "And you know how Wes gets when he wants something to be perfect."

"Oh, I know what you are talking about." Kurt said remembering long rehearsals right before Sectionals.

"And now it's even worse because he has no one to baby." Jeff said. "Luckily, Nicky and me know all the tips to calm down the beast when it appears."

"Yeah." Nick agreed. "He can be pretty scary when he wants to be." His cheeks suddenly turned into a bright shade of red. "I still remember when he attempted to talk with me about…you know…these things."

Jeff burst out laughing. "You do realize that it's your punishment for not locking the door while Serena was in there?"

Nick hid his face in his hands. "I still remember that look he gave me…God, it was embarrassing. But it's not my fault that she appeared so suddenly. There was no time for thinking."

"Clearly." Jeff said, amused. He wrapped his arm around Nick's shoulders. "At least now you know how important is to always remember to lock the door."

They chatted about their upcoming performances and joked for a couple of minutes until the wooden door swung open and Wes emerged from the common room. His gaze travelled through the corridor examining his teammates until he looked at Kurt.

The blue-eyed boy sighed in relief when he didn't notice any anger in the Asian boy's dark eyes. At least Kurt didn't have to worry about Wes' urge to kill him anymore.

"You're the first to audition." He said seriously. "Get ready."

Kurt stood up from the sofa receiving encouraging smiles from Nick and Jeff and something between a wince and smirk from Zack. For some reason it made a cold shiver run down Kurt's spine. Kurt followed Wes into the room and closed the door behind himself.

He spinned around turning his face to the four boys sitting in from of him. His eyes immediately met Blaine's and the dark-haired boy smiled warmly at him winking.

"You can begin." Thad said gesturing at the small boom box. Kurt walked over to the radio and put a CD into the player. The soft, familiar notes started filling the room warming up Kurt's heart.

He slowly inhaled the air into his lungs and opened his mouth singing the first line of Don't cry for me Argentina. Kurt poured his whole heart and soul into the song trying to show all the emotions through his facial expressions. He was too focused on the song to look at the council, much less figure out what they were thinking about his performance, but he hoped that it was good enough to get the solo.

Kurt finished the song smiling at his small audience. The members of the council (plus Blaine) all clapped in approval. They liked the performance if the promising smiles on their faces were anything to go by. Only Wes looked kind of conflicted, but it wasn't any surprise considering the fact that their 'friendship' was in a really bad place right now.

"You have proven to us that you're very talented actor and singer. Thank you for your performance." David spoke up. "You can leave now."

"Thank you." Kurt said resisting the urge to roll his eyes at the boy's business-like voice. He excited the room and sat back down next his friends. Jeff and Nick immediately attacked him with questions about his performance.

It took twenty minutes for the rest of the boys to audition and when they were all waiting for the results in the corridor the pleasant atmosphere was gone and the air was thick with unwanted tension. Only Zack seemed to be perfectly okay with waiting.

"Don't let the nerves eat you all up." The blond boy said looking at Kurt's slightly shaking hands. "Can I be honest with you?" The blue-eyed boy raised his eyebrow in question, but nodded his head prompting Zack to continue. "Don't get your hopes up. We're all much more experienced in performing in front of the real audience than you and no one, besides our beloved Blaine, of course, has ever gotten a solo at the first attempt."

Kurt's hands started sweating and he was getting sick of Zack's sweet tone. The blond boy rested his hand on Kurt's knee squeezing it. Kurt immediately pulled his knee away and moved towards the other end of the sofa to put a little distance between their bodies. It seemed to amuse Zack as he laughed leaning his head against the backrest. "And I don't want to be rude," Zack carried on much to Kurt's displeasure. "but you're voice doesn't fit with the rest of the group. It's not…powerful enough. Sure, it's unique, but you lack a sparkle that would make you lead the whole team to the championship."

"Hey, leave Kurt alone!" Jeff said sitting down beside the two boys. "He sings like an angel, and even though his voice is not classic, maybe it's what our group needs. Some changes wouldn't hurt. Maybe it would be better to have more than one singer during our performances. I wouldn't mind singing in a duet with someone for example."

"I don't think that it would be a smart idea to let the judges think that our whole choir is filled with gay guys." Zack said lightly.

"And why would that be bad? Maybe we wouldn't win, but at least we would change something in people's minds." Jeff stated. "What's wrong with being gay? Nothing!"

"Okay, I know that you're dying to sing some cheesy song to your boyfriend over here, but you can do it more discreetly. It doesn't have to be done in front of the judges." Zack apparently wasn't aware that angry Jeff wasn't someone that he would like to see. Kurt didn't know Jeff's dark side either.

"Listen to me, asshole." Jeff said quietly moving impossibly close to Zack. The arrogant boy for once looked uncomfortable. "First of all, our relationship is completely platonic. Nick and me are best friends and I would die for him, but we are nothing more than best friends. Not that it changes anything, because in this school you cannot have anything against my potential homosexual relationship if you don't want to be reported and expelled as a result. And I want you to know that you're starting to get on my nerves." Jeff's gaze was deathly cold as he looked into Zack's eyes. "You've been warned."

Kurt looked at Nick who was watching in interest Jeff's speech. Jeff stood up from the sofa and muttered something about having to get a bottle of water before disappearing from the corridor. Zack followed him with his eyes before groaning and crossing his arms over his chest.

Kurt, not knowing what else to do turned to Nick seeking for some sort of explanation. "Jeff's just very sensitive when it comes to homophobia." He answered. "His older sister, Victoria is actually a lesbian and she had some troubles at school when she was younger because of it. And then there was the whole Blaine thing."

Kurt nodded his head in understanding. "Oh, I get it."

"Besides, some people should know when it's a good time to stop talking." Nick said looking pointedly at Zack.

The other boy barely spared him a glance. Nick sighed sitting down beside Kurt.

Soon after that Jeff was back with a bottle of water. It looked like he was exhausted from all the stress and emotions as he sat down heavily on the sofa not even sparing a glance at either of the boys. Nick and Kurt shared a worried look, but neither of them said anything knowing that their friend needed a quiet time.

The rest of the wait was really awkward and uncomfortable. They were all silent not wanting to start an argument again.

Finally after fifteen minutes of waiting, the door opened and the four boys came out of the common room. Blaine immediately caught his gaze smiling promisingly. Kurt couldn't help, but smile back. His heart started beating faster when he realized that he was about to find out if he got the solo or not.

David cleared his throat and started speaking. "The council has decided that we should do some changes, so this time we think that the best thing we can possibly do is a duet. Jeff, Kurt, we think that your voices will be perfect together." He turned to Zack. "The solo goes for you. Congratulations. We'll talk about the rest during the next rehearsal."

The dark-skinned boy walked over to where Nick was sitting and patted his back smiling apologetically. "Sorry, man."

Nick just shrugged his shoulders not saying anything. David and Wes shared a look, and left the common room. They were quickly followed by Zack and Thad. The dark-haired boy seemed to recover rather quickly as he stood up from the sofa and wrapped Blaine into a tight hug greeting him.

It looked like Jeff didn't remember about his previous fight with Zack as he quickly joined the two boys in a hug. "You should visit us more often. Just because you have new, amazing friends doesn't mean that you can forget about your old ones!" The blond boy said pulling away.

"Jeff, you don't have to worry about that. You're unforgettable and unrepeatable." Blaine said with a smirk.

"I know. Just making sure." Jeff said winking. His gaze travelled to the boy's mid section and his eyes widened comically. Blaine looked at himself as well, as if checking if there was any dirt on his sweater. The blond boy rested both of his hands on Blaine's stomach. "You're showing!"

Blaine's cheeks turned red. "Yeah, a little. I'm just thirteen weeks along. Wait 'til I'm in my third trimester."

Kurt watched the whole scene with a soft smile on his face. He was happy that Blaine was lucky enough to have friends who accepted him just the way he was.

"I can't wait until the baby starts kicking!" He said excitedly.

Nick was smiling too. "How do you want to name the baby?"

"Honestly? I have no idea."

Kurt walked over to the trio and grabbed Blaine's hand. "Luckily you have me to help, and we can start making a list whenever you want."

Blaine smiled at him with adoration. "Thank you. You're amazing." He leaned forward and pecked Kurt's lips. Kurt was a little taken aback by the action, but it still made him happy to feel Blaine's soft lips on his.

"You two are so adorable." Jeff cooed. He wrapped his arm around Nick's shoulders. "Aren't they, Nicky?"

"I miss Serena." He stated miserably. Jeff only laughed at that.

"How are you holding up, Nick?" Blaine asked seriously. "Are you mad at the council? At me?"

Nick smiled softly. "Of course not, Blaine. I'm just happy for my friends. They both deserved to have a chance to shine in the spotlight. It's just not my time, I guess. Next year, with half of the Warblers gone I will rule this place!"

Kurt was really impressed by his optimism. Had the roles been reserved, he would have been probably a crying mess by now. "Okay, let's leave the love birds alone." Jeff said winking at Blaine. "They probably have a lot of catching up to do."

They hugged Blaine good-bye and left Kurt and Blaine alone in the corridor. The two boys just stared into each other's eyes for a moment not knowing what else to do. "It's still early." Blaine pointed out. "We could go out on a date. Maybe to the movies?"

Kurt really wanted to agree. They didn't have much time to talk during the week and an evening out would make all the stress go away, but Kurt knew that he still had to talk to Blaine about his weird behavior from earlier.

"I would love to, Blaine, but were supposed to talk now." Kurt said squeezing Blaine's hand.

The dark-haired boy saddened, but less than two seconds later his face lighted up with a new, brilliant idea. "Who said that we can't do both of these things? We can go to the movies and then to the Lima Bean to talk. What do you think?" Blaine asked hopefully.

It actually didn't sound that bad. Kurt nodded his head gaining a short kiss from Blaine. "Are you going home for the weekend?" Blaine asked.

"Yes, it would be nice to spend some time with my family. I miss them terribly." Kurt said sadly. It was hard to spend five days straight without seeing his dad. Kurt didn't have much time to call him, but even if he managed to make a quick phone call, it still wasn't enough.

"Then go change into normal clothes and meet me downstairs in twenty minutes." Blaine said happily. "God, I'm dying to do something that regular teenagers do for a change."

Kurt smiled at Blaine's contagious cheerfulness. Blaine was right. It would be nice to do something for fun and Blaine certainly deserved a break. "Okay, see you downstairs." He said and excited the room. Of course, normally he needed much more time than twenty minutes to get ready, but for Blaine he would speed up a little bit.

Once Kurt was in his dorm room he sighed in relief when he noticed that his roommates were nowhere to be seen. They would just make choosing his outfit much more difficult. Kurt opened his small closet and smiled seeing all the brand clothes. It was a shame that he couldn't wear them every day.

It took him a lot of time, but eventually Kurt settled for a pair of white skinny jeans and black fitted sweater. He took his wallet and a small bag with the most necessary things (his moisturizing equipment amongst them, of course) before leaving the room.

He basically ran down the stairs gaining a few odd looks from other boys, but he ignored them and carried on. I wast so hard to think rationally when he was faced with a prospect of going out on a date with Blaine. He missed his boyfriend, but also his best friend. It was one of rare occasions when they could spend some time alone (even if they would spend two hours sitting in a dark, crowded room).

Kurt entered the entrance hall and stopped dead in his tracks when he noticed Blaine and the person that he was talking to. Sebastian was saying something to him, but Kurt couldn't make out the words. The room was crowded since most of the students were getting ready to leave Dalton for the weekend.

Blaine looked kind of sad and conflicted and Kurt had to resist the urge to drag him away from Sebastian. Kurt didn't trust him. He knew that the green-eyed boy was going through a lot and he wanted him to finally find balls to take the responsibility for his actions. Kurt was just afraid that the other boy might hurt Blaine again and Kurt would be left to pick up the pieces.

He watched from the distance as Sebastian and Blaine talked for five minutes. Then, much to Kurt's surprise the green-eyed boy pulled his ex-boyfriend into a hug. Blaine seemed to relax into his arms instantly which made Kurt a little jealous.

Kurt took a deep calming breath watching as Sebastian and Blaine pulled away. The green-eyed boy left the building with a bag swung over his shoulder, obviously heading home like most of the students. Blaine followed him with his eyes and then sighed rubbing the back of his neck. Kurt walked over to him slowly and rested his hand on Blaine's shoulder. The younger boy smiled at him weakly and leaned against his boyfriend heavily.

"What was that about?" Kurt asked softly, making sure that he didn't sound like he was angry at Blaine for talking to his ex-boyfriend.

"Sebastian wants to make things okay between us." Kurt raised his eyebrow waiting for more information. "I mean, he says that he wants to stay on good terms for the baby's sake which sounds really weird considering the fact that only couple of weeks ago he didn't want to have anything to do with me or our unborn child."

Kurt took Blaine's hand squeezing it. He was surprised that Sebastian decided to take a part in his baby's life so early, but he couldn't question his actions. He just had to be happy for his boyfriend and pray that Sebastian wouldn't hurt him again in some way. Watching heartbroken Blaine was the worst thing that could happen to him.

"I think it's good that he finally wants to take responsibility for his actions." Kurt said. "Just be careful with him. I don't think he knows exactly what he wants."

"Yeah, I know." Blaine said rubbing his face. "Which reminds me about my conversation with Wes yesterday. He said that you didn't want Sebastian to be kicked out of the Warblers." Kurt looked down at his shoes, afraid that Blaine was mad at him for defending Sebastian. Blaine seemed to see right through him as he grabbed his chin lifting it up, so that Kurt would look into his eyes saying. "Don't get me wrong, Kurt. I don't feel hurt or betrayed for that, but I just want to know why you did that."

Kurt looked deeply into Blaine's honey-colored eyes hoping that the other boy wouldn't misunderstand him. "I don't think that Sebastian is a bad person. He's just lost. Some people need more time to grow up to be a father. When you got expelled everyone started hating Sebastian. I'm not trying to defend him or anything, it was all his fault, but being on his own probably didn't help him with making the decision of talking to you. I know he has Zack and Ryan, but maybe it's not enough."

Blaine nodded his head. "You have a point."

They stood silently in the entrance hall for a couple of minutes just staring into each other's eyes as if searching for something. "I guess it's time for acting like a regular teenagers." Blaine said smiling at his boyfriend. "Let's go to the cinema, shall we?"

Kurt smiled back and looped his arm through Blaine's. They excited the building and headed to their cars.

"Really, Blaine?" Kurt said staring down at their tickets. He had gone to buy some snacks for them trusting Blaine to buy tickets for a decent movie. Now he regretted this decision. "No Strings Attached?" Blaine nodded his head smiling happily. "I'm not really into this kind of movies."

Blaine rolled his eyes. "Me neither, but we're not here to feed our souls with amazing art. Let's just have fun! I miss it so much." Blaine said bouncing impatiently on the balls of his feet. Kurt smiled despite himself.

"Fine, but next time I'm choosing the movie, 'cause it seems like you have a terrible taste." Kurt said much to Blaine's amusement.

The movie wasn't that good, but when he cuddled up to Blaine, it suddenly was a lot better and more enjoyable. There was no light beside the one coming from the screen, so even though the auditorium was full of people, Blaine and Kurt managed to kiss each other a couple of times.

All in all even though the movie was silly, it wasn't a waste of time in Kurt's opinion as he got to kiss his boyfriend shamelessly in the public place without any consequences aside from a huge grin on his face. They both left the cinema in good moods, happy to be able to spend time together just chilling out.

Kurt was aware that their happiness would be over soon, the heavy weight of the endless problems would crush down on their shoulders, but for now everything was pretty much perfect and Kurt wanted to make this moment last forever.

They drove in their separate cars to the Lima Bean and ordered a piece of chocolate cake for each of them once they reached their destination. The place was full of teenagers and other people who were enjoying their Friday afternoon, but neither of the boys minded .

Kurt watched Blaine's triumphant smirk in amusement as the waitress brought their identical desserts and drinks.

"I swear, you just want to make me fat." Kurt said staring down at the piece of cake full of calories.

"I know that you are able to live only on salads and other shit light that, but you need to take a break from everything every once in a while." Blaine said with a forkful already halfway to his mouth.

Kurt rolled his eyes, but a small smile spread across his face. They ate their desserts making a small talk, but when their plates were empty, Kurt knew, and it seemed like Blaine did too, that it was time to discuss whatever had brought Blaine down.

Fortunately, Kurt didn't have to prompt Blaine to confess as the younger boy started to speak before Kurt had a chance to open his mouth. "My parents talked to me yesterday…about the baby." Kurt winced a little despite himself. The talk hadn't been pleasant if Blaine's sad eyes filled with insecurities were anything to go by. "It looks like they still don't support the idea of me keeping the baby. I really don't know what their problem is. I am young, but I know I can do this." Blaine took one calming breath. "Anyway, my mom has friends who have been trying to have a baby for years and they still don't have one."

Kurt reached out his hand across the table covering Blaine's cold one with his. The black-haired boy looked down at their hands and kept speaking. "My mom promised them that I would meet up with them to discuss…possible adoption." Blaine paused for a moment. "I said yes."

Kurt raised his eyebrows in confusion. "Why? Have you changed your mind?"

"No." Blaine said meeting Kurt's gaze. "I just don't want to argue with mom and dad anymore." He sighed. "There is just one problem. I don't want to give them false hope. How am I supposed to look into that woman's eyes without feeling like the cruelest person on Earth?"

"Maybe you could just explain everything to them?" Kurt asked. "I'm sure they will understand."

"It's probably the best idea." Blaine said taking a sip of his hot chocolate. He was silent for a moment, before shyly asking. "Could you go with me? You don't have to, but it would be nice to have some support."

Kurt smiled softly. "Of course I will."

Blaine smiled back showing his perfect, white teeth. "Thank you. You're the best boyfriend ever."
