A/N: I hope you enjoyed my latest chapter. It's a bit longer than usual. Please review and tell me what you think. Italics is Enochian/Latin.
Sam and Dean prepared for the summoning; collecting the different herbs and leaves needed for the spell. They cleared the round, black table in their motel room and drew on it an Enochian sigil. Sam turned off all the lights and Dean lit the candles that were placed around the edge of the table.
"Ok. I think that's everything," Sam nodded and opened the spellbook to the correct page.
"Rah ah gah ee oh es. Vee nu nohno kee ah seh peh teh poh ah ma lah deh zod," Sam read. There was a flutter of wings and the youngest archangel appeared in the centre of a ring of holy fire.
"Why did you do it?!" Dean asked the mischievous angel angrily.
"Deano! Samantha!" Gabriel replied cheerfully. "I hope you don't need my help again, 'cause last time I ended up dying."
"Well you're not dead." Sam pointed out, even though it was obvious that he was still alive.
"Yeah… that was an illusion. I liked being free. That was until you two came along. I figured the best way to hide, was to be dead."
"You didn't answer my question," Dean snapped at him.
"Hello… Trickster." Gabriel replied pointing to his face. "Oh, where's my baby bro?"
"Gone. Stuck in purgatory," Dean replied, his eyes filling with tears.
"I tell you what, you let me go, and I'll bring back your angel."
"How do we know you're not lying? Or if you can even do that?" Dean asks.
"You've seen me as a Trickster. But you forget that I'm also an archangel. I'm nearly as powerful as my older brothers and I'm not lying. I like Castiel. So… do we have a deal?"
"Deal, but you fix what you did to me. I want to be able to have bacon again."
"Oh yeah! I forgot about that! Samshine, did ya like your hairstyle?" Gabriel laughed. Dean snickered at the memory of Sam's expression when he saw that he had no hair left.
"I am going to kill you for that!" Sam threatened, and pulled Gabriel's angel blade up to his neck, but Dean pulled him back.
"Woah, woah. Sam, if he really can bring Cas back, then we need to keep him alive," Dean reminded Sam and Gabriel gave them a smirk. "Then we can kill him."
Dean whispered the last bit hoping that Gabriel would not hear him.
"I'm an archangel. I heard that," Gabriel complained. "If you want me to bring Castiel back, then you need to let me out."
He gestured to the holy fire and it was instantly put out when Dean poured some water over it.
"Ok," Gabriel clapped his hands together and a piece of old paper with the ingredients written on it appeared in his hands. He began to search through their pile of ingredients used for spells to find what was needed to bring someone back from purgatory.
"Meadowsweet, Sage, blood of something that has been there, something of Castiel's and… oh." Gabriel paused at the last ingredient because he knew that would be impossible to get.
"What?" Sam asked curiously peering over the archangel's shoulder.
"We need the blood of a Leviathan."
"Great!" Dean said sarcastically, sitting down on the sofa and putting his head in his hands.
"Erm…" Sam cleared his throat. "Do you remember Edgar?"
"Wasn't he the Leviathan that we dropped a car on?" Dean recalled from two years ago.
"Yeah, well… let's just say I was fascinated and may or may not have kept some of his blood in a vial." Sam avoided eye contact with Dean and tried to sound as innocent as possible.
"Seriously?!" Dean scoffed. "How did you know that they couldn't, I don't know, rebuild itself from a bit of blood, for example? 'Cause I wouldn't be surprised if they could. Do you know how stupid that was?"
"I didn't think of it." Sam tried to be smart and study the blood in case they managed to find another way out. "Well, you should be grateful. Now, we can get Cas back."
"Children, children…" Dean was about to speak, but Gabriel spoke up first, "quit your arguing and just get on with it. Where's the blood?"
"Back at the Bunker." Gabriel just gave Sam a confused look. "Oh, while you were 'dead', we found out that we're legacies: the Men of Letters."
"I hated them. They were a royal pain in the ass. All work and no play…" Gabriel huffed. He touched Sam and Dean's forehead and they appeared in the library of the Bunker. "Go get the ingredients."
Sam went to get Edgar's blood and Dean went to get the meadowsweet, sage and Castiel's spare trench coat, then they met back in the library.
Gabriel mixed in the meadowsweet and the sage in a wooden bowl that Kali had given him. Dean held his hand over it and winced when he cut the palm of his hand. The blood dripped into the bowl and when he thought that it was enough, he covered his hand with a cloth.
Soon after, Sam came and tossed the vial of Leviathan blood to Gabriel. He dipped the trench coat in the bowl then laid it out on the floor.
"Ok. Here goes nothing." Gabriel read the incantation from the paper. "Dicam, terra sancta redierint.
regressum purgatorium, ingredietur terras."
A black portal opened in front of them and Castiel tumbled out, unconscious. He was not alone.
(Meanwhile in purgatory)
"Cas, behind you!" Benny shouted, pointing at the black circle. Before he could move away, it began to suck him in.
"Benny, run!"
"No! Dean was like a brother to me and you were like one to him. That makes you my brother." After Benny said this, he ran after Castiel and they both fell through the portal.
Dean looked at the man next to Cas and rolled him over to see his face. "Benny?"
A/N: I hope you liked this chapter. The story is a bit different and Benny was also left in purgatory. Review and tell me what you think.
