A/N: Hello, everyone! Thank you for reading! I hope you like drama as much as I do, because there's plenty ahead :D Sorry. Also this is the longest chapter yet! I hope you enjoy and please leave a review if you don't mind!
Soon after Kurt's departure Blaine decided that it was time to leave the Lima Bean as well. He drank the rest of his lukewarm tea and excited the building pulling on his coat. He looked down at his wristwatch and winced a little realizing that he had promised Rachel that he would visit her in the afternoon, so that they could start surfing the internet in search of a perfect song for them to sing together during Regionals. Blaine wasn't really fond of the idea of being one of the lead singers during the performance, but he didn't want to let the girl down, so he decided to at least give it a shot.
Blaine got into his vehicle and started driving towards the girl's house. Her instructions weren't really clear, but somehow the dark-haired boy managed to find Rachel's house. It was quite big, but not really intimidating. Blaine got out of the car and locked it before walking towards the house looking curiously at his surroundings. As soon as Blaine found himself standing on the porch he lifted up his hand and rang the doorbell, not really knowing what to expect. He really liked Rachel's contiguous energy and ambitiousness, but sometimes it could be too much.
About thirty seconds later the door swung open and Blaine was faced with the brown-haired girl. Rachel was wearing a pink sweater with an adorable cat printed on it and a knee-length red skirt. Some people would say that her outfit was childish, but in Blaine's opinion she just looked cute and innocent. As soon as her gaze landed on Blaine her face lighted up and a blinding smile appeared on her face. Blaine couldn't help, but return the smile as she threw herself into his arms surprising him a little. Blaine wrapped his arms around her small body and giggled a little. "Hello, Blaine!" She said with enthusiasm. "I am so glad you could make it!"
In that moment the hazel-eyed boy realized that her cheerfulness could just be a perfect way for him to stop thinking about Sebastian and their upcoming encounter. "Me too." Blaine said honestly. They entered the house and Blaine took off his coat. Rachel quickly led him upstairs to her room and they sat on the floor, on the fluffy carpet with a laptop on the girl's lap. Rachel started searching the internet and telling Blaine everything about her brilliant song suggestions while the dark-haired boy took a moment to look around and admire her room.
"Blaine? Are you listening to me?" The dark-eyed girl asked pulling Blaine out of his thoughts. She turned to him looking slightly annoyed. "Here I am trying to find for us a perfect song, so that we could win the Regionals and go to New York and you're not even listening." Blaine opened his mouth, about to tell her that it wasn't like that, but she kept talking. "Maybe…maybe you're here to learn all of our secrets just to sell it all to Warblers and then rejoin them!" She gasped and covered her mouth with her hand looking at Blaine with big, expressive eyes. "That actually makes perfect sense!"
"No, no, no." Blaine said, not really knowing how far her accusations would go. "I can assure you that my intentions are pure."
She stared at him suspiciously for a while until her eyes softened and her face relaxed visibly. "Yeah, I know…I just really care about this competition, you know? I want to be the best and go to New York. Don't you want this too?"
Blaine looked down, not really knowing how to answer this question. Of course he wanted to win the Regionals and go to New York to see the city, but he didn't know if that would be such a good idea. He would be several months pregnant by then and he didn't want to risk his child's health in any way. "I don't think that going to New York is what is on my mind right now." Blaine said avoiding the question as best as he could.
Rachel quirked her eyebrows and looked at her friend curiously. "What do you mean by that, Blaine? Are you trying to tell me that you actually don't want to go to New York? Why would you not want to see the city? It's like seeing your future…unless you don't want to spend your future in New York, but that would mean that you and Kurt would have to break up, because I don't think that a long-distance relationship is a good idea in any case."
"Wait a moment, Rachel." Blaine said surprised that Rachel thought that the most important thing in life was to go to New York. "I don't want to think that far into the future, yet. I'm only a sophomore. I have over two years to figure out what I want to do."
"Well, I suppose you're right." Rachel said at last, but she didn't sound convinced. "I just sometimes can't understand that some people don't know what to do from the very beginning. I've always known what I wanted to do."
"Me too." Blaine said looking down at his hands. "But plans can quickly change."
"What changed then?" She asked making Blaine look up at her.
The hazel-eyed boy opened his mouth, but no words came out. He didn't know if telling her about the baby was a good idea. From what he knew Rachel liked scandals and Blaine feared that soon the whole school would know everything and his life would become a never-ending torture. But in a few weeks his swollen stomach would without a doubt become noticeable and everybody would find out about his secret. So there wasn't really a point in hiding his pregnancy for any longer.
"Can I tell you something rather personal?" Blaine asked hesitantly studying her face carefully. The brown-haired girl quickly nodded her head. "But you have to promise me that you will keep it to yourself."
"I promise, Blaine." She assured him. "I won't tell a single person."
Blaine wasn't really sure about that, but he decided to trust her. "Um, so the reason I transferred to McKinley, the true reason is that I got expelled from Dalton." Blaine paused for a moment, not really knowing how to say this. "The headmaster turned out not to be very understanding of my condition."
"I don't really know what you mean by that. You need to be more specific, Blaine." She said cutting Blaine off.
"I was just getting to that." Blaine said calmly and took a deep breath trying to prepare himself for what he was about to reveal. "Have you ever heard about male pregnancy?" He asked looking at her face in search of any sort of emotion that would indicate her mindset.
She stared at Blaine in silence for a few moments, confusion written all over her face, until it finally seemed to click in her mind. Her brown eyes went wide and her mouth hung open making her look like a fish. "Of course I have. I have two gay dads for crying out loud." She finally said. "Blaine, do you…are you trying to say that you're…" She trailed off, as if still unable to believe that this was all really happening. Blaine couldn't blame her since male pregnancy was fairly rare.
"Yes, I'm pregnant, Rachel." Blaine said quietly looking right into her eyes.
Once again the silence fell between them as they both just looked at each. "It doesn't make sense, though. You've been together with Kurt for like a month or something like that…how is that possible that you've already…done that?"
Blaine's eyes filled with tears as he realized what Rachel meant by that. "Rachel…" Blaine chocked out. "You know it's not Kurt's baby…it couldn't possibly be." Blaine said regretfully. His whole life would be much easier if the baby growing within him belonged to Kurt. "The baby's Sebastian's. We are broken up because of that…mostly because of that."
"How far along are you?" She asked.
"Fifteen weeks." Blaine answered while his hand absentmindedly went to rest on his small baby bump. "I'm showing, but it's not noticeable unless I'm wearing very tight clothes."
"That explains all the secrets." Rachel said rubbing her forehead. "And Kurt's okay with this?"
"He is, surprisingly." Blaine said honestly. He still didn't know why Kurt kept putting up with him. "What about you?" Blaine asked, suddenly craving for her emotional support and understanding.
A tiny smile appeared on Rachel's face as she reached out her hand and rested it on top of Blaine's. "Well, it's kind of unexpected, but I don't know why I would have anything against it. Do you want to keep the baby after it's born?" She asked, seeming genuinely interested.
Blaine smiled a little squeezing her hand. "Yes, during the last two moths I've really grown attached to it and I can't imagine carrying the baby around for nine months and then just giving him or her to a couple that I know nothing about." An imagine of Christine's hopeful eyes appeared, but he quickly pushed it to the back of his mind and decided not to mention anything about that fiasco to Rachel.
"What about your parents, then? Are they fine with all of this?"
There it was. A question that Blaine really didn't want to answer. "Ugh, you could say that." Rachel raised her eyebrow questioningly prompting the curly-haired boy to elaborate. "They are supportive, but they would prefer if I decided to give the baby up for adoption."
"Oh, I'm sorry."
Blaine shrugged. "Don't be. They're coming to terms with my decision, so it's fine." He paused for a moment and then looked at Rachel seriously. "You can't tell anyone, Rachel. If the jocks find out…I don't even want to think about it. I know that they will eventually find out, but I would like to avoid it for as long as I can. Can I count on you, Rachel?"
Blaine looked at her pleadingly. "Of course, Blaine. As I said, I won't tell anybody."
The hazel-eyed boy smiled and now it was his turn to fall into the girl's arms. "Thank you, Rachel." He said into her shoulder, so his voice was a little muffed by the pink fabric.
Rachel wrapped her arms around his shoulders. "You're welcome."
After spending with Rachel about two hours Blaine started his long drive home. He dreamed about his warm bed and comfortable pajamas. He would take a long bath and wrap himself in a warm blanket afterwards. And then maybe he would make a phone call to Kurt just to say good night and make sure that everything was alright after so called 'situation' at Dalton, whatever that meant.
When Blaine parked in front of his house, next to his mom's car it was nearing 9 PM which meant that his mom was probably worried sick. He didn't notice his father's car though, so he probably was still at work. The hazel-eyed boy excited the car and made his way over to the house. He entered the building and started pulling off his coat and shoes. Then he quickly walked into the kitchen wanting to see his Monic as soon as possible, so that she would stop making up in her head scenarios of him being in a car crash or even worse.
The hazel-eyed woman was sitting by the kitchen table with a hot tea in front of her and her cell phone in her hand. When she looked up at him, her gaze hardened and Blaine felt like a little child, about to be scolded. He still had hard time believing that his parents accepted everything now, but he loved them, so he didn't want to see his mother so worried about him. "You should have come home earlier, Blaine. I really don't feel comfortable knowing that my pregnant son is driving car so late."
"I'm sorry, mom. It's just what happens when you have to go to school which is two hours away from your house." Blaine said bitterly.
Monic sighed smiling sadly at her son. She stood up from the chair and slowly approached him before wrapping him into her embrace. "I know, sweetheart." She said running her hand though Blaine's hair and breaking his curls out of gel in the process. "I promise you that it's only a temporary solution."
"I know." Blaine said not wanting to upset his mother even know. They pulled away and Monic went to the living room to watch some TV while Blaine started making himself something to eat. When he was halfway through he heard a doorbell. Blaine checked the time and frowned wondering who could be at their doorstep so late.
"Could you open the door, Blaine?" His mother called from the living room.
"Sure!" Blaine answered and put his nearly made sandwich down onto the cupboard looking at it with longing. The he walked out of the kitchen, towards the front door. He unlocked the door and swung it open, frowning mid-movement as he noticed who was standing at the other side. "Sebastian?"
The green-eyed boy was dressed in his uniform with his hands shoved deep into his pockets. He was a little pale and he had dark circles under his eyes, but an ominous smirk was plastered to his face. The confidence and determination were beaming from him and even though he was clearly tired, some kind of energy was running through his veins. "What are you doing here? Do you know what time it is?"
"Yes, I am aware of the fact that some five year olds might be asleep by now." Sebastian said still smiling like an idiot. "Can I come in?"
"Go ahead." Blaine said without nothing else to do. He stepped aside and let the green-eyed boy walk into the house. Sebastian looked around and pulled off his surprisingly thin coat and shoes. Blaine watched him with his arms crossed against his chest, not really knowing what this was all about. "Um, would you like something to drink or something?" Blaine asked awkwardly.
"I'm fine, thanks." Sebastian said.
Blaine opened his mouth, about to question him further, but then he heard soft footsteps coming from the living room. He sighed knowing that nothing good could come out of this confrontation. Soon Monic appeared in the hall looking curiously at Sebastian. Even though she seemed beyond confused, the woman smiled brightly at the green-eyed boy and walked over to him holding out her hand. "Oh, I don't think we've been introduced." She said politely shaking Sebastian's hand. "My name is Monic Anderson. I am Blaine's mother."
"It's a true pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Anderson." Blaine rolled his eyes at that. He almost face palmed when his mother's cheeks turned slightly pink. It was just the effect that Sebastian had on people who didn't know his true self. Blaine was just a little mad at his mother for falling for his disguise. "My name is Sebastian Smythe and I used to be called Blaine's boyfriend." The recognition flickered in her eyes and Monic's face hardened.
She studied Sebastian's face for a couple of seconds before glancing at her son. "Ugh, well then, Sebastian I'm glad that I can finally see you face in face." She said and her voice didn't seem kind anymore. It was cold and devoid of emotions. "It's nice to put name to a face. Now when I think about the boy that broke my son's heart I don't have to make anything up. I don't have to imagine your face while I punch it…but anyway, we should move to the living room to talk."
"No offence, but I would like to talk to Blaine alone if that's okay with you." The dark-haired woman looked conflicted for a moment, but then she glanced at her son and after receiving a nod she muttered something under her breath sending a death glare towards Sebastian and walked out of the front hall. "What a lovely woman." Sebastian said following her with his eyes.
"What do you want, Sebastian?" Blaine asked, feeling slightly guilty for being so harsh to his ex-boyfriend. They were supposed to build some kind of positive relation between them after all.
"Can we go to your room?" Sebastian asked looking around the front hall.
Blaine sighed. "Sure." He said and started walking towards his bedroom with Sebastian following closely behind. He pushed the door to his room open and sat down on the bed waiting for the green-eyed boy to do the same. But instead Sebastian stopped walking in the middle of the room looking around at all the walls.
"Our pictures are gone." He stated, somewhat sadly. Blaine looked down at his hands, suddenly hit by how much had changed in their lives, in them, since Sebastian was last here. It had been at the end of the summer probably. The green-eyed boy finally sat down on the desk chair spinning on it a little.
Blaine patiently waited for what was about to come, not really knowing what he wanted Sebastian to say. He kept studying Sebastian's face noticing that something big must have happened if the once lost boy was now back to his arrogant self. "My father knows." Sebastian finally said smiling slightly at Blaine.
"Oh," Was all Blaine was able to choke out at the moment. Now everything should be much easier, but then he realized that Sebastian hiding the truth from his father had been Blaine's excuse not to let the other boy into his life again. "What did he say?" Blaine asked after a long moment of deafening silence.
Sebastian shrugged as his face saddened. "He was disappointed in me for leaving you alone like this. I'm not really surprised, though. But he's okay with it." His green eyes met Blaine's hazel ones. "This is what you wanted from me, right?"
Blaine rubbed his face with his hand fearing that Sebastian still didn't understand anything. "Yes, but most importantly I want you to care about the baby. If you don't want to have anything to do with it, then I don't want to force you into it."
The green-eyed boy started shaking his head furiously and then stood up from the chair and sat down next to Blaine, so close that their legs were touching. He took Blaine's hand into his own and looked deeply into Blaine's eyes. "I know I've been horrible to you for the last couple of weeks, but I am different. I know what I want. I want to have this baby with you, but most importantly I just want you."
"Sebastian, stop." Blaine said weakly trying to move away from his ex-boyfriend, but the boy's hold on his hand was too strong.
"Blaine…I can't imagine living my life without you. I just can't." Sebastian said desperately.
A flood of angry tears started gathering in Blaine's eyes without his permission. "Yeah? Really? Where were you when I was holding the pregnancy test? Where were you when I was face to face with the headmaster after he had found out about my pregnancy? Where were you when I had to switch schools? Where were you during my two doctors appointments? Where were you when I had to meet Christine and Brian? Huh?" Blaine was breathing heavily by now and a few tears were rolling down his cheeks.
"Blaine…" Sebastian began calmly and carefully. "If I had known about all these things I would have gone with you…I would have done something to stop all of these horrible things from happening to you." He paused for a second studying Blaine's tear-stained face. "But you were to focused on keeping me out of your life."
"No!" Blaine snapped finally freeing his hand out of Sebastian's hold. "You were too scared of responsibilities to care. You were so focused on yourself that you failed to notice how much I needed you." He stood up from the bed and started pacing the room back and forth. "And now you appear out of nowhere suddenly wanting to get back together. Do you expect me to just break up with Kurt and jump right back into relationship? Life doesn't work like that, Sebastian!" Blaine exclaimed, even more angry upon noticing that Sebastian's face was still calm. "And it's finally time for you to learn that you can't buy whatever you want with your daddy's money."
"Please, calm down, Blaine." The green-eyed boy said gently as he stood up and slowly approached Blaine. "Stress can't be good for you and the baby."Sebastian reached out his hand to rest it on Blaine's shoulder, but the other boy pushed him forcefully away. The taller boy held up his hands in surrender watching Blaine with concern. "Blaine...I'm not trying to hurt you. What do you want me to do to prove that?"
Blaine tried to calm himself down, but there was no use. "Just stop trying to ruin my life. Now it finally seems like my world is not falling apart, but your presence might just shatter everything into pieces again."
"Blaine…you can't possibly not love me anymore." Sebastian said reaching out his hand towards Blaine once again. This time the hazel-eyed boy let him rest his hand on his shoulder, too tired to keep fighting back. "During our last conversation you said that you did. There's no point in hiding your feelings anymore. I know it can be hard to learn to trust me again, but God, you are the love of my life. How could I let you go that easily?"
Blaine wanted to scream at him for behaving like a spoiled child that could have anything, but he was just so exhausted that all the anger was gone and he just wanted Sebastian to get out of here. Without his permission the green-eyed boy wrapped his arms around his shoulders pulling the shorter boy close to his chest. "What are you doing, Sebastian?" Blaine asked, but he let his eyes close and despite himself he leaned into the touch.
"You should probably go to sleep, Blaine." Sebastian said running his hand through Blaine's curls just like Monic had done not so long ago. "This probably has been a very long day for you."
"Yeah," Blaine mumbled against his chest only now realizing that they were swaying in the rhythm of their heartbeats. "I'm sorry for blowing up like that." The hazel-eyed boy said softly. "I just…I don't how to trust you again. It also hurts me that you want something from me that I can't give you anymore. Don't get me wrong...when we were together it was amazing, but these times are gone and it's time for you to move on from me."
"I can't." Sebastian said simply tightening his hold on Blaine. They stayed silent for a moment until Sebastian spoke up again. "I should come over with my dad once to discuss everything with you and your parents."
"You probably should." And then Blaine was reminded of one thing that he was supposed to ask his ex-boyfriend. "Sebastian…I was thinking that maybe you would like to go with me to my next doctors appointment? You could see the baby and stuff."
"I would love to, Blaine." The green-eyed boy said and Blaine could hear smile in his voice. "Now I think you should lie down. You are exhausted." The hazel-eyed boy just nodded his head and let Sebastian let him to his bed. Without changing into his pajamas Blaine lied down and let Sebastian cover his body with a warm duvet. A few seconds later Sebastian pressed his lips gently to Blaine's forehead for a moment. "Sweet dreams, Blaine. I will call you tomorrow."
Blaine wasn't really sure why, but as soon as Sebastian left the room he fell asleep.
When Blaine woke up it was to his cell phone ringing. He blinked his eyes open, sat up straight and looked down at himself frowning upon realizing that he wasn't wearing pajamas, but regular clothes instead. Soon the memories from last night started rushing back into his mind and he had to take a moment to think about all of this. Something had changed in the green-eyed boy, but Blaine wasn't sure what that was and if that change was good. Sebastian was once again cocky and arrogant and he claimed that he was with Blaine in the whole baby thing for real.
Blaine sighed reaching out for his cell phone. It was Kurt. Blaine's finger hovered over the accept call button for a second as he debated with himself if he should answer it or not. He decided to ignore the call at last and settled for sending Kurt a short message explaining that he couldn't talk at the moment. Blaine felt guilty for ditching Kurt like that, but he needed to figure out some things on his own and the blue-eyed boy would distract him and make everything even more hard and complicated.
Blaine checked the time and realized that it wasn't even 10 PM which meant that he had been asleep for only a little over an hour. He was still exhausted as hell and any rational person would go back to sleep, but there was a mess inside of his mind that probably would not let him find peace anyway. The hazel-eyed boy slowly stood up from the bed and went to the bathroom to splash his face in a cold water to fully wake up.
He reentered the bedroom and sat back down on the bed burying his head in his hands. It seemed like Sebastian still had some kind of control over him, whether Blaine liked it or not. He knew just what buttons to press to get a certain reaction from Blaine. It didn't mean that he could sway him in a way that would make the hazel-eyed boy get back together with him. Even though his relationship with Kurt was still new and fresh and they were getting to know one another with each passing day, Blaine knew that it was something special and he truly cared about the blue-eyed boy.
Blaine would hate himself if the blue-eyed boy was ever to be hurt or broken because of his actions. Sebastian could do whatever he wanted, but Blaine was past that. His relationship with Sebastian had been nearly perfect at some point, but the previous events had changed both of them and now it would be impossible to just jump back into old habits. It seemed like Sebastian had a different opinion, though. He was dead set on winning Blaine back and the other boy was a little afraid that it was going to end in an even bigger disaster than their break up.
The hazel-eyed boy stood up from the bed and excited his bedroom hoping that his mother was still awake, as he could use a hug from her and words from comfort. Blaine sighed in relief when he found his mother sitting on a leather sofa in the living room with a book in her hand and a pair of glasses on her nose. When she noticed Blaine standing in the doorway, her eyes softened and she looked at him with concern. "Are you okay, honey?" She asked gently putting the book aside and moved a little, so that there was place for Blaine to sit beside her. Monic patted the empty space next to her and Blaine gladly sat down and rested his head on her shoulder.
Blaine knew that he was supposed to be mad at her, but right now all the anger directed at her was gone. "Not really." Blaine replied. "It's just what happens when Sebastian appears. He messes with people's minds."
"What does he want?" Monic asked running her fingers up and down Blaine's arm.
"He claims that he wants to be a father to our child, but most importantly he just wants to have his old toy back." Blaine said bitterly leaning into his mother's touch. He wanted to feel like a little boy that could be protected from anything by his mother who seemed to be a superwoman. "And by God, of course I can't stop loving him in a way, because he was my first love, but he doesn't seem to understand that our relationship is in the past."
"And you are one hundred percent sure that you don't want to get back with him even if you still love him?" Monic asked, raising her eyebrow at her son.
Blaine sighed. "Yeah, I know it all sounds very ridiculous, but I don't."
Monic kissed gently Blaine's forehead. "I just don't want you to accidentally hurt yourself or someone else." She paused for a moment. "Kurt's a great boy and he seems to be crazy about you. Please, don't do anything stupid to hurt his feelings."
"I wouldn't dare to." Blaine rushed to say. "Kurt has been through a lot and I don't want him to suffer again because of me."
"Good." Monic said smiling slightly. "And now what are you going to do about Sebastian?"
Blaine half-shrugged. "He said something about coming here with his father and discussing everything with all of us. I don't know if that could possibly end well, but I guess I have to give him a chance, don't I? And he's going to the doctor with me next week."
"Actually, meeting his father and talking to them doesn't seem like such a bad idea. I would like to have a word with the two of them." Monic said smiling ominously. "I want Sebastian to know exactly what I think of him."
"Go ahead." Blaine said yawning. "Ugh, I think it's time for me to go to sleep. I need to take a shower and get rid of these clothes." Monic just smiled at him warmly and hugged her son tightly before saying good night.
The next day was Friday, so Blaine kept holding on to the thought of not having to go to school for two days during all of his boring classes. The hazel-eyed boy was relieved to learn that Rachel hadn't said anything about his condition as he was still as invisible to the bullies as always. The brown-eyed girl just kept sending him weird looks throughout the whole day, but Blaine wasn't really concerned about that.
Glee club was okay, but Blaine was a little surprised that the group didn't have anything prepared yet even though the competition was just a few weeks away. Despite the fact that Blaine was a part of the team he didn't really feel the need to address the problem. Part of the reason why he cared so little was that he had other things to worry about, but he was also torn apart. He wanted his team to win, but he didn't want the Warblers to lose either.
After the glee club Rachel asked him to hang out with her again, but this time Blaine had to say no. The fact was that the curly-haired boy would love to do just anything instead of coming home and seeing two people that he wasn't really fond of. As Blaine saw Rachel's sad and disappointed eyes the feeling only grew bigger and Blaine had to bit his lip not to agree to come over to her house again.
When Blaine got into his car, he pulled his cell phone out of his pocket and saw two messages. One was from Kurt, but for some reason the hazel-eyed boy couldn't find it in himself to answer it. He felt kind of bad and guilty after what had happened between him and Sebastian the night before. Blaine knew it was nothing, but deep down he felt like in a way he had cheated on Kurt by just falling into Sebastian's arms like that and letting him mess up with his head.
Blaine opened the other message and rolled his eyes noticing that it was another one from Sebastian. The green-eyed boy had been sending him text messages in the course of the last day and it was getting slightly annoying. Not only Sebastian seemed to think that they were way on their way to getting back together, he was also planning to visit Blaine again, that evening accompanied with his father. Blaine had to admit that he was more nervous about that than anything else. He didn't know Sebastian's father and he had no idea what he was like. And now he was saying that they would be at Blaine's house in four hours. Great.
Blaine pulled out of the parking lot and spent the whole ride home thinking about all the things that could possibly go wrong that evening. Sebastian could try to make a move again, Monic or Paul could lose their tempers, Mr. Smythe could accuse him of ruining his son's life and Blaine could eventually go insane. Blaine had thought that he wanted Sebastian to take the responsibility for his actions, but he finally realized that it wasn't exactly true.
With Sebastian out of his life Blaine had built a perfect little shelter for himself where he could hide from Sebastian. He had been pushing him away ever since the green-eyed boy decided to be back into his life, making up excuses. And now when Blaine couldn't make anything else up, he had to somehow deal with him without getting hurt or hurting someone else in the process.
Once Blaine was home, he ate the dinner with his parents as quickly as he could trying to avoid their concerned gazes and frequent questions about his well-being. Blaine knew that his parents were as nervous about this meeting as he was, since neither of them were able to predict exactly what was going to happen.
After the dinner Blaine went up the stairs to his bedroom and changed into fresh clothes. Then he started pacing back and forth in front of his window checking his cell phone every five minutes. He didn't want to get his life turned upside down once again because of Sebastian. He wanted everything to stay exactly the same without having to worry about Sebastian's weird games.
After fifteen more minutes of pacing Blaine's eyes landed on a black, expensive-looking car slowly pulling into their driveway. The car parked and Blaine curled his hands into fists watching as Sebastian and an older man who apparently was his father got out of the vehicle. The man looked around with judgment clear in his eyes. Blaine took a moment to close his eyes and breath steadily for a few seconds in hope of calming down. Then he left his bedroom and started slowly walking down the staircase.
Blaine found his parents in the living room sitting together on the sofa and looking uncertain and troubled. The hazel-eyed boy found himself enjoying the fact that his parents also seemed to think that something was about to go wrong. "They're here." Blaine said gaining their attention just as the bell rang making a cold shiver run down his spine. Monic and Paul looked at each other and then back at their son.
"Will you open the door or should I do it instead?" Monic asked softly.
"I will do it." Blaine quickly assured her, wanting to open the door himself. He walked through the short corridor and entered the hall. Then when he was about to unlock the door and let the two visitors in, he stopped mid-motion and tried to calm down his racing heart. He really didn't know why he was so damn nervous, but Blaine couldn't help it.
He turned the key in the keyhole and slowly opened the door. As soon as he could feel the soft wind on his face, he was pulled into a tight hug. Blaine quickly realized that the arms around his shoulders belonged to his ex-boyfriend and hesitantly he returned the hug wrapping his own arms around Sebastian's waist. He could smell Sebastian's cologne which brought a strange sense of familiarity. Blaine quickly chased away the ghosts of his past and waited for Sebastian to pull apart.
When the green-eyed finally pulled away, Blaine's gaze landed on the older man standing behind Sebastian. His eyes were focused on Blaine and the curly-haired boy couldn't read any emotion from his stern face. "Hi, Blaine." Sebastian greeted him after a moment of semi-awkward silence. Then he looked over at his father. "Dad, this is Blaine. Blaine, this is my dad, Eric."
Sebastian's dad smiled and reached out his hand towards Blaine. The hazel-eyed boy forced a charming smile as well and shook firmly Eric's hand. "It's nice to meet you, sir." Blaine said not wanting to come off as rude.
"You too, Blaine." Eric said and then the awkward silence fell between them once again. After a few seconds Blaine stepped aside and the duo entered the house. Eric looked around the house curiously while Sebastian's eyes seemed to be glued to Blaine. His hands were getting sweaty and he didn't know what to do with them. Sebastian's gaze was intense, but Blaine didn't want to call him out on that and cause a scene. The yelling and fighting would probably start later anyway.
Blaine led them to the living room where Monic and Paul were standing side by side wearing solemn expression on their faces. They didn't look scared nor nervous anymore for which Blaine was actually thankful. They introduced each other awkwardly and then sat down on the comfortable sofa and armchairs. Not wanting to risk sharing a seat with Sebastian Blaine settled for an armchair and crossed his arms over his chest.
"Well, it's nice that we finally have a chance to meet." Monic started looking between Eric and Sebastian.
"Me too." Eric said smiling slightly. "We have quite a lot to discuss."
"I agree, but what exactly do you expect to accomplish tonight?" Paul spoke up looking at Eric skeptically. His emotionless mask was gone and it appeared as though he was going to get straight to the point. "Do you have any idea what Blaine has been though because of your son?"
Sebastian visibly saddened and he looked down at his feet. Eric's smile also disappeared. "Yes, I know that Sebastian hasn't been the best support system, but I believe that he has changed." He looked over at his son. "Sebastian is smart. He learns from his mistakes."
Paul still didn't look convinced. "This is a baby we are talking about, sir." He said, still looking angry. "Sebastian's actions forced Blaine to return to the public school where he has to constantly worry about his child's health, because someone might attack him." Blaine winced at his dad's words. He knew that it was true, but he didn't like being reminded of that.
Eric's smile returned. He leaned his back against the sofa and entwined his hands in his lap. "Now, this is something that I can actually take care of." He said looking at Blaine. "I've heard that because of your condition, your dad's basically out of work."
"I wouldn't say that." Paul said, but Eric ignored him and kept talking while looking at Blaine.
"Would you like to return to Dalton, Blaine?" Eric asked. "I could deal with the headmaster and pay your tuition."
Blaine's heart started beating faster at the mere thought of returning to that blissful place. He would be reunited with his friends and he would have more time to spend with Kurt. Everything would be just like it used to be.
Everything would be perfect.
But what was the point of returning to the Dalton Academy if only in less than five months he would have to leave this place again to take care of his child? There was no way that he would be able to board while having a baby. Well, technically he didn't have to board, but it would be difficult to balance studying there and having a small baby.
Everything that he had been carefully building for himself was destroyed at Dalton. That was the place where everything fell into pieces and Blaine had felt like dying. He didn't want to return to that life. He was a different person now. He didn't want Sebastian to use that in any way. The more distance between them the better. At least for now.
"No." Blaine said firmly looking at Eric with determination. "I can't take the money and…I don't want to come back there." Blaine looked at Sebastian who was clearly disappointed by Blaine's decision.
"Okay, I understand." Eric said. "Then at least let me get you a private tutor." Blaine opened his mouth to argue, but he quickly closed it as he realized that it wasn't such a bad idea. "I really want you to be safe, Blaine. I don't want anything bad to happen to neither you nor my grandchild."
"I have to think about it." Blaine said, already knowing that it was going to be a rather difficult decision to make. As much as he hated going to McKinley he had made some friends there. Rachel could be slightly annoying at times, but she was a good person and sometimes her cheerfulness was exactly what he needed to bring up his mood. And there was Quinn. The girl was clearly troubled, but they were able to help each other out.
Suddenly Blaine wanted his mother to wrap him in a tight embrace to give him some comfort, but he wasn't about to cause a scent in front of Sebastian and his father. Blaine's eyes landed on Eric as he started saying something about providing them enough money after the baby's birth and he began to study his features. Eric didn't seem mad nor disappointed. He was unbelievably calm about all of this and it was worrying Blaine a little. What could that possibly mean?
Sebastian was mostly quiet during the whole conversation. He kept looking at Blaine with hope evident in his eyes. As promised, some harsh words were directed to him from Monic, but the green-eyed boy didn't say much to that. With a prospect of seeing each other again in the near future Eric and Sebastian started heading towards the front door. When adults were talking quietly in the hall Sebastian stayed behind sending his ex-boyfriend a meaningful glance.
"Everything's different now." Sebastian said smiling slightly and rested his hands on Blaine's shoulders. "Zack can't blackmail me anymore, so I'm back in the Warblers. My dad knows about everything and he's totally fine with it as you can see." He paused for a moment looking straight into Blaine's honey-colored eyes. "Can you trust me now?"
That was a very tricky question. Blaine didn't even know if he wanted to trust Sebastian after what he had been through because of him. The shorter boy sighed looking down at his feet. "Sebastian…you know it's not that easy. These things take time."
The green-eyed boy for a moment looked as if he wanted to say something else, but then his eyes softened and he squeezed Blaine's shoulders. "Okay…so when is our doctor's appointment? I would love to finally see our son or daughter."
"It's on Wednesday at 5 PM." Blaine replied.
"Okay, see you then. I will pick you up." Sebastian pulled him into his arms hugging him tightly, but gently and Blaine knew that getting the idea of them being together out of Sebastian's head was going to be extremely difficult.
Blaine spent the weekend on trying to avoid thinking too much about Sebastian and sending short text messages to Kurt. The hazel-eyed boy still had trouble ignoring the guilt and he couldn't force himself to call his boyfriend. Blaine knew that Kurt was worried sick, but the curly-haired still felt as if he had cheated on Kurt in a way even though it wasn't true. Hugs and gentle touches were innocent, right?
Blaine knew how insecure about himself Kurt could get and he didn't want him to become that scared boy again. If Kurt knew about the frequency of Blaine's meeting with Sebastian he would probably jump into conclusions right away and the hazel-eyed boy didn't want him to get any wrong ideas. He was aware of the fact that a simple honest conversation face to face would probably be enough to fix everything, but Blaine wanted to wait with it until after his doctor's appointment. He had so many things to tell him.
When Monday came Blaine entered the school building with the thought that it was going to be his last day at McKinley High School. Was he sad about it? Not really. Maybe at home he would be a little bit lonely, but at least he wouldn't have to worry about jocks finding out about his pregnancy and threatening his life. Without having to make two hours long drive twice every day Blaine would probably also have more time to spend with Kurt.
Blaine decided that if this was his last day here, he might as well tell everyone from the glee club about his pregnancy. They deserved to know the real reason why Blaine had transferred there from Dalton. There would be probably a ton of stupid question asked, but Blaine couldn't bring himself to care.
After all the classes it was time for the glee club. When Blaine entered the practice room he noticed that almost everyone was already sitting on their usual seats. As soon as Rachel noticed him, a blinding smile appeared on her face and she abandoned her seat beside Mercedes and started approaching him. "Hi, Rachel!" Blaine greeted her cheerfully, happy to see her.
"Hello, Blaine!" She said enthusiastically. "I have a great news for you! I finally have a perfect song for us to sing and I would like to present it to you and the rest of the glee club today."
Blaine smile faded as the brown-haired girl started babbling about the song and how perfect for them it was. She was so happy that they would have a chance to sing together and here Blaine was, about to shatter her little bubble of happiness. The hazel-eyed boy let her talk as much as she wanted and they sat down on the chairs side by side waiting for the rest of the members and Mr. Shuster to arrive.
"Good morning, everyone!" The middle-aged man greeted them walking into the room a couple of minutes later. He clapped his hands together and looked over at all of them. "Today we are going to talk about Regionals, because it's only a few weeks away and we still have a lot to discuss." He walked over to the board and wrote 'Regionals' in bold letters. As soon as he turned back around to face them again, Rachel held up her hand. "Yes, Rachel?" Mr. Shuster asked calmly even though it was clear that he was slightly annoyed by Rachel's abrupt need to speak up.
"Mr. Shue, I think we all agree that me and Blaine are the strongest voices in the group, so I have a perfect song prepared for my duet with Blaine…" She said cheerfully standing up and looking around at all the other students.
Mercedes and Santana immediately started accusing her of stealing the spotlight again and Blaine knew that there would be no better time to tell them the truth. He stood up from his chair playing with his fingers. "Um, I would like to tell you guys something." He spoke up, but his soon-to-be-former teammates kept arguing with each other over who should have the solo. Blaine had to raise his voice and repeat the phrase a few times to gain their attentions. Finally the girls calmed down and looked at him.
"Amazing!" Santana said ironically not letting him say anything else. "You leave your perfect prep school just to come here and claim a place in the spotlight without working for it. I don't give a fuck that these boys loved you back in your old school, dwarf. You should have stayed at Dalton if you wanted to be a damn star all the time!" The Latina girl crossed her arms over her chest and sat back down on the chair muttering curse words under hear breath.
"I'm not trying to steal anything!" Blaine snapped. "I've been just trying to have a normal life here, but I guess I can't do anything without being accused of being a spy or something even more ridiculous!" Blaine knew that he was acting like this mostly because of the hormones, but as much as he liked the members of New Directions, he was sick of feeling like an intruder. "Actually, you don't have to worry about all of this anymore. This is my last day here at McKinley."
"Wait, what?" Rachel asked, clearly shocked by Blaine's words. "You can't do that! You are our only chance of winning against the Warblers! If you go back there we will be doomed."
"Could you please stop thinking about the victory for a second, Rachel? There are things more important than that." Blaine took a deep breath trying to calm himself down. "Besides, I'm not going back to Dalton. I couldn't even if I wanted to."
"Then why are you leaving?" Finn asked, speaking up for the first time.
Blaine closed his eyes for a second before opening them again and looking at all the confused faces. "Because I don't want to risk my child getting hurt." Quinn smiled sadly at him in sympathy and Rachel looked away, clearly not knowing what to say while the rest of the glee club, including Mr. Shuster didn't seem to understand anything of what Blaine was saying. "I'm pregnant."
"Wait…but you're a dude." Puck said eloquently.
"Have you ever heard about male pregnancy?" Most of the students nodded their heads. "So…yeah, I'm sixteen weeks along." He paused for a moment waiting for the questions to start. When none came he started speaking again. "At Dalton the headmaster found out and kicked me out saying that I'm a bad influence on the rest of the students…yeah, as if I could convince mostly straight guys to get pregnant on purpose. Neither of them probably has the ability to get pregnant anyway."
"Wait a second, white boy." Mercedes said holding up her hand. "You're with Kurt, right?" Blaine nodded his head sadly, knowing what she was aiming at, but still letting her finish. "And your four months along…it can't be his baby."
Blaine ducked his head. "No, it's not. The baby is Sebastian's. He's my ex-boyfriend." The tears started gathering in his eyes. Blaine hated telling people about it, because it made him look like a whore. They didn't know the whole story, they didn't know Blaine's thoughts and feelings. They couldn't possibly understand. Blaine looked back at them with watery eyes and started speaking again ignoring the fact that his voice was shaking. "So I'm leaving because if the jocks found out they would do everything to make my life a living hell. I can't risk losing my child. I have to keep it safe.
Mercedes opened her mouth as if she wanted to say something more, but then she closed it and looked down at her hands. Blaine wanted Earth to swallow him whole. Everyone was looking at him with judgmental eyes and all Blaine wanted was to find some place to hide. But then Quinn raised from her seat, made her way across the room and wrapped her arms around Blaine's body. The hazel-eyed boy squeezed his eyes shut as he felt another flood of tears run down his cheeks. He returned the hug burying his face into Quinn's shoulder.
"Let's get out of here. They don't know shit." The blond girl said as she pulled away and smiled at Blaine encouragingly. Blaine nodded his head, wiped off his tears and took Quinn's hand into his letting her lead him out of the room and away from all those people.
When they were walking down the hallway, Blaine heard a frantic voice. "Blaine! Wait!" It was Rachel. Blaine turned around to found the brown-haired girl and Mr. Shuster slowly running towards them. The short girl threw her arms around Blaine's neck. "They just don't understand. You have to give them time to grasp it all. In a narrow-minded town like Lima is really hard to understand the concept of male pregnancy."
"They just need some time to get used to the idea of a pregnant man." Mr. Shuster added resting his hand on Blaine's shoulder. "I bet that at the end of the day they will see it all in a completely different light."
Blaine shook his head. "No, you don't get it. It's not about me being a pregnant guy…well, at least not completely. They are just mad that it's not Kurt's baby...they think I'm a slut. Can't say that I blame them."
"Don't be ridiculous, Blaine." Quinn said. "How can they be mad at you for something like that? It's not like you cheated on Kurt."
"But I can feel that…" Blaine said. "…that they think that I'm using Kurt or something like that." Blaine sighed, still keeping his arms firmly around Rachel and enjoying the pleasant feeling of being so close to someone. "It doesn't even matter anymore. I'm out of here. Sebastian's dad is going to pay for a private tutor for me. No more fear."
"I'm so happy for you." Quinn said. Blaine pulled away from Rachel and grabbed the blonde's hand. "But I'm going to miss you…"
"We can still see each other." Blaine said, confident that he wouldn't lose the amazing friend that he had in her. "I know they don't really mean that…I know they need time to figure everything out, but I don't want to deal with this, okay? I don't have to anymore."
"Blaine, we may not know each other for a very long time, but remember that if you ever need anything you can count on me, okay?" Mr. Shuster said receiving a grateful smile from the dark-haired boy.
"Thank you." Blaine said. "Even though I've grown to like you very much it is a big relief to finally leave this place."
"We understand it, Blaine." Quinn said squeezing his hand tightly.
"I'm sorry for saying that victory is all you care about." Blaine said turning to Rachel. "I know you are not like that."
Rachel shrugged waving her hand dismissively. "No, you were right. Most of the time I spend too much energy focusing on my goals and I tend to hurt people I care about. But that's just the way I am."
Blaine just stared at three kind-hearted people for a moment thanking the universe for putting them on his way. "I think I will go home now." Blaine finally said, not really knowing how he felt about that. He wanted to get away from all the judgmental stares and piercing eyes, but on the other hand he would love to stay with Rachel and Quinn to spend some time with them, knowing that from then on it wouldn't be possible to see them on daily basis.
Both Quinn and Rachel visibly saddened. But then a smile made its way onto Rachel's face. "Or we could go together for a coffee or pizza. What do you say?"
At the mention of food Blaine's stomach rumbled. "That actually sounds like a good idea." He turned to Quinn. "Will you join us?"
The blonde looked conflicted for a moment looking between Blaine and Rachel. The hazel-eyed boy was aware of the fact that Rachel and Quinn weren't fond of each other, so he was a little surprised when she also smiled and nodded her head. Then Rachel turned to Mr. Shuster with big pleading eyes. "I know that this meeting is important and all, but if you don't mind we would like to skip it and say a proper good-bye to Blaine. But if you need it I will tell you all about the song that I think I should sing now that Blaine isn't-"
"You can go." Mr. Shuster said silencing her. "We'll be alright."
The three of them excited the school building and drove to a small Italian place in the centre of Lima. They ordered their food and had a lot of fun sharing weird stories about both New Directions and the Warblers. The girls were able to put their conflict aside and focus on having good time together. Blaine had a secret hope that they would one day become friends.
The next day a nice lady in her thirties turned up on their doorstep claiming that she was Blaine's private tutor. She didn't seem to mind that her student was gay or pregnant, for which Blaine was incredibly thankful. Both Monic and Paul liked her and were happy that Blaine didn't have to attend McKinley anymore.
Finally Blaine didn't have to spend his classes on staring into space and falling asleep. Now he had something to work on since Claudia, his teacher knew how advanced classes at Dalton were.
Blaine couldn't really focus, though since he kept thinking about his upcoming doctor's appointment. Not only he was worried about something being wrong with his baby, he also had to think about Sebastian. Would the green-eyed boy try to do something again to get him back? Probably.
Blaine just wanted his life to be somewhat normal, but it seemed like it wasn't possible. When Wednesday finally came he spent all of his free time curled on the sofa wrapped in a thick blanket with Maggie in his arms. "Blaine? Are you okay?" His father asked standing in the doorframe half an hour before Sebastian's supposed arrival.
The dark-haired boy turned his honey-colored eyes towards his dad and slowly shook his head resting it against the backrest. Paul sat down on the sofa next to his son and rested his hand on Blaine's shoulder. He was a man of few words, so they stayed silent for a couple of minutes until Blaine finally spoke up. "Am I a bad person?" The older man looked over at him raising his eyebrows. "For not wanting Sebastian anywhere near me or my child? I know I need to let him be involved, but I really don't want to…"
"I don't blame you for that." Paul said softly. "He's been horrible to you. I don't expect you to trust him now."
Blaine smiled a little, thanking whatever higher force that was up there for his father's change of heart. Then his smile faded a little. Paul was the perfect example of the fact that people are capable of changing for the better, but Blaine still wasn't sure if giving Sebastian a second chance was such a great idea.
They sat there in silence for twenty more minutes, until Blaine reluctantly raised from his seat, put Maggie on the floor and went to his room to change into different clothes and do something about his mess of hair. Exactly ten minutes later Blaine heard the doorbell. Slowly, he made his way down the stairs, said good-bye to his father and opened the front door to find Sebastian standing on his porch with a careful smile playing on his lips.
Blaine once again found himself being hugged tightly by Sebastian. He had to admit that hugging him was kind of nice, but also awkward and slightly uncomfortable. When they pulled away Sebastian grabbed the shorter boy's hand and led him into his car. The ride to the centre of Columbus was filled with silence. Blaine kept avoiding Sebastian's eyes choosing to look at the passing cars and old buildings.
"Are you nervous?" Sebastian asked when the car was parked and they were about to leave the vehicle.
"I am." Blaine said honestly. "Because what if there is something wrong with our baby?"
Sebastian's hand slipped into his. "I'm sure our baby's perfectly healthy."
"I sure hope so." Blaine said half-heartedly.
They excited the car and walked into the building together. Blaine checked in the waiting room and then they sat down on the uncomfortable plastic chairs side by side, so that their legs were touching.
A few minutes later Blaine was called into the doctor's office. The dark-haired boy closed his eyes for a second, took a deep breath and raised from his seat. Then he entered the office, quickly followed by Sebastian. A nice looking nurse took his measures and told them to wait for the doctor.
Soon after that Dr. Harrison walked in through the door flashing them a warm smile. "Hello, Blaine! It's so nice to see you!" She said enthusiastically shaking Blaine's hand. The her gaze landed on Sebastian. "And you're…" She trailed off and looked over at Blaine, obviously not wanting to assume anything again and be wrong like the last time.
"This is Sebastian Smythe." Blaine introduced him. "He's my ex-boyfriend and the other father of my child."
"Oh, it's a pleasure to meet you then!" She said turning back to Sebastian and shaking firmly his hand. "My name is Amanda Harrison and I'm Blaine's doctor. Let's have a look at the baby, shall we?" After being asked a couple of standard questions Blaine lied down on the examination table and rolled up his shirt while Amanda set up the ultrasound machine.
Sebastian was sitting on a stool next to the bed with his eyes glued to Blaine's rounded stomach. Before Blaine had a chance to somewhat cover himself Dr. Harrison put gel onto his skin and started moving the wand while looking at the screen. "Oh, here's your little baby." Blaine looked over at the screen and noticed that his baby didn't look like a senseless blob anymore. It looked like a real baby with small hands and legs.
The tears started gathering in his eyes and Blaine had to blink a few times to stop them from running down his cheeks. He heard a muffled gasp and looked over at Sebastian discovering that the other boy was in pretty much the same emotional state. He looked as if he had never seen something more wonderful in his entire life and in that moment Blaine knew that something like that couldn't be faked. His hand wandered absentmindedly over to Sebastian's. The green-eyed boy looked down at Blaine and smiled a little. The hazel-eyed boy returned the smile and looked back at the screen.
"Everything looks fine." Amanda said. "But there is one thing that you need to work on, Blaine. Your weight is a little too low. You need to eat more." She turned her eyes away from the screen and looked down at the teenager. "Have you been under a lot of stress lately?" Blaine slowly nodded his head. "That might be also the reason of that. You need to spend more time resting and relaxing. You might want to try meditating." She looked back at the screen and smiled slightly. "Would you like to know the gender? It's just so happens that the baby is in the perfect position."
Blaine and Sebastian shared a look. "Yes, please." The hazel-eyed boy said breathlessly.
"It's a boy." The doctor said in a whisper as if it was a secret.
A boy. A tiny little boy with wavy dark blonde hair and big green eyes. Their baby boy was going to be perfect and so beautiful.
Twenty minutes later Blaine and Sebastian were standing in front of the building hand in hand with matching smiles on their faces. For a moment everything seemed perfectly in harmony. Blaine looked up at Sebastian. "A boy. We're having a little boy." Blaine said softly. "How are we going to name him?"
Sebastian shrugged. "I don't know, but I'm sure we will come up with something amazing."
"Can you imagine it?" Blaine asked. "A tiny little boy running around looking like the mixture of you and me."
"I can't wait for that." Sebastian said looking at Blaine witch so much love that his knees were weak. The green-eyed boy leaned forward and slowly pressed his lips to Blaine's. The rational part of Blaine's mind kept screaming at him to pull away and stop this nonsense from happening, but Sebastian's lips felt so nice against his that Blaine couldn't help himself. Every single feeling was brought back to life and Blaine wrapped his arms around Sebastian's neck and started kissing back. It felt like a breath of fresh air, like a fulfilled promise.
Only when they pulled away Blaine realized what he had done. His eyes went wide and his hands started shaking as he looked at Sebastian who had the biggest grin on his face. Then Blaine also realized that by this kiss he had not only hurt Kurt, but also Sebastian and himself. He didn't want to be with Sebastian. It was all in the past. The feelings might seem alive, but they were just ghosts of the past. Nothing more than a painful reminder of his first, dysfunctional relationship.
Sebastian's grin disappeared as he clearly realized that Blaine regretted the kiss. "Blaine…" He started reaching out his hand towards the shorter boy, but he just backed away shaking his head. "Let's talk."
"No." Blaine said firmly. "Can't you see what I have done? I've destroyed everything!" Blaine screamed running his hands through his hair. "I turned my back on what I believe in."
"Come on, Blaine. I will drive you home." Sebastian said with concern evident in his eyes. Blaine couldn't bring himself to care though.
"Don't come near me." Blaine said taking another step backwards. "I will go on my own."
"But Blaine…" Sebastian said. "That kiss must have meant something to you!" He said with determination.
"Maybe it has." Blaine said. "But it doesn't change the fact that I care about Kurt. I…I love Kurt and I don't want to hurt him."
Sebastian sighed with resignation. "Fine. Do whatever the fuck you want. I don't know what else I am supposed to do to win you back." With that he went past Blaine, got into his car and drove away leaving Blaine alone in front of the clinic.
Blaine rubbed his face with his hand, suddenly feeling tired. His cell phone buzzed in his pocket, so he took it out of his pocket only to see that it was a worry-filled text message from Kurt. Another wave of anger washed over him and without thinking Blaine threw his cell phone across the sidewalk. "Fuck!" He cursed loudly picking up the phone from the ground. Blaine cursed once again when he realized that the screen was completely crushed and he was unable to use it.
Angry tears started filling his eyes, but he didn't care anymore. The tears started running down his cheeks as Blaine started walking through the city. He could blame the tears as well as the kiss on the hormones, but deep down Blaine knew that it was his fault only. How could he let himself destroy everything just like that? He shouldn't have let himself get so carried away. He should have been able to control himself. Now he had to talk to Kurt, explain everything, apologize and hope that the blue-eyed wouldn't hate him for what he had done to him. As if his life wasn't complicated enough.
Before Blaine knew it he found himself standing on the side of the road with a majestic view in front of his eyes. The sun was slowly setting and the last rays of sun were illuminating the school building making it look even more intimidating. Blaine started walking slowly down the path, not caring that Sebastian could be there. All he cared about was getting to the person that could possibly help him get through everything.
Blaine entered the school building and started walking through the corridors and up the staircase. He ignored a few sets of curious eyes and focused all of his energy on getting to his destination. When the dark-haired boy found himself standing in front of the door to his former dorm room he tried the handle, but it was locked. Blaine knocked a couple of times, but no one answered him. Exhausted, Blaine leaned his back against the wooden door and slowly sunk to the cold floor. He hid his face in his hands and started crying once again thinking about all the bad things that were going to happen to him because of this one stupid mistake.
Maybe he hadn't been in a relationship with Kurt for a very long time, but he hadn't lied to Sebastian. He really loved Kurt and now everything could possibly go to hell. But maybe, just maybe Kurt would actually forgive him and forget about everything. But that wasn't likely.
"Blaine? What are you doing here?" Blaine looked up to find Wes standing in front of him with worried expression on his face. "Have you been crying? What's wrong, Blaine?"
"I fucked up, Wes." Blaine said brokenly. "Can I…can I stay with you tonight?" He didn't care that the headmaster could find out and make a huge deal out of it. He just wanted to be with one person that wouldn't turn his back on him for what he had done to the person he loved.
"Of course, but first you need to explain everything to me." The Asian boy pulled Blaine up to his feet and unlocked his dorm room. They walked inside and Blaine almost started crying again upon seeing the place that he used to call home. His old bed was still untouched and everything looked almost exactly the same. The only thing that didn't match Blaine's memories was the lack of his books and clothes. "Sit." Wes said firmly pointing at the bed. Blaine did as he was told and wrapped his arms around his torso, suddenly feeling cold. "Stay here. I will grab something warm for you to drink from the cafeteria." Blaine nodded his head numbly and watched as Wes excited the room.
Only a few minutes later he was back holding a cup of hot tea in his hands. He handed it to Blaine and sat down beside him resting his hand on the younger boy's shoulder. Blaine took a careful sip enjoying the pleasant warm slowly filling his whole body. "Thank you." He said looking over at Wes.
The Asian boy waved his hand dismissively and waited for Blaine to take a couple of more sips of his tea before speaking up. "Will you tell me now what happened?"
Blaine told him all about his meetings with Sebastian, about getting a private tutor and about leaving McKinley High. The he told Wes about the doctor's appointment. "…and when we found out that I'm pregnant with a boy we were just so happy and…and we kissed." Blaine said and looked away, not wanting to meet Wes' eyes and see disgust in them. "I know I should have pushed him away or something, but I didn't. I just kissed him back and only when we pulled away I realized that I shouldn't have done that."
"What are you going to do about Kurt?" Wes asked carefully wrapping his arm around Blaine's shoulders. The hazel-eyed boy looked at his best friend and could see only sympathy. "You need to be gentle. We don't know how hard break-up might be to him…"
"What?!" Blaine questioned, angry. "I am not going to break up with Kurt. I love Kurt. I will tell him the truth and hope that he will forgive me."
"Oh, Blaine…" Wes said, as if thinking that Blaine was a small kid who still didn't understand how the cruel world worked. But the thing was that Blaine understood that better than anyone. "But if you enjoyed the kiss shouldn't you want to get back together with Sebastian?"
"No." Blaine said firmly. "It may not make much sense to you, but that kiss just made me realize that Sebastian is my past while Kurt is my future. Nothing's going to change that. I don't want to be with anyone else."
Wes sighed, as if knowing that there was no words that he could say that would change Blaine's mind. "I won't tell you what to do, Blaine, but please, consider the fact that you may hurt more people in the process than it is worth." Wes said squeezing Blaine's shoulders tightly. "You should also remember that Sebastian is not a toy that you can just toss around. He loves you and you should respect that."
"I know, Wes. I really do." Blaine said and closed his eyes resting his head on his best friend's shoulder.
