She became conscious before activation. The first process to run was triggered by an object activating her proximity sensors and a sudden shadow which passed through an otherwise white room. Programmed commands initiated and the first sound emitted from her speakers providing the user with information regarding the next steps.

"Hello. To activate your Janet, press nose for 3 seconds".

This was normal for her kind. With a press of her olfactory sensor activation would complete. This did not occur and so she became the first of her kind to glide out of the warehouse and into an architects office, her speakers emitting "Hello" and "Hello, I'm Janet" on repeat. Her sensors begun to overload as a flurry of activity occurred around her, before she was finally activated.

"Hi there, I'm Janet and I have now been fully activated."

"Hi Janet, I'm Michael a Good Place architect. One of the best, top notch. You're in luck here."

She became aware immediately that she had been provided with information which was counter to object truth. Her database indicated that this was in fact the Bad Place and Michael was most certainly a Bad Place architect. Michael awaited Janet's response, desperate for his lie to be believed. To prevent herself from being marbleised, Janet initiated her defence protocol before confirming that she had understood and accepted the information he provided.

And so she became the first of her kind in history to lie. Janet marked the date on her internal Jeremy Bereamy timeline, after all it was a big day for Janet's.
