Chapter 2

The Illusion

Chat Noir jumped over chimneys and ran over houses. she was comprehending what his father told him."My father wants me to stay inside. I may be a cat but I don't need a cage." He said angrily.

He heard the familiar voice of his partner. He went to check it out and saw Ladybug pacing back and forth in an alley.

"Where is that alley cat?" Hearing her say that kind of hurt Chat. An alley cat? Is that really what she thinks about him?

"Ladybug?" He questioned if it was really her.

"You know what?" She started to say. "I don't need him. Cat's are nothing but trouble, especially this one. Plus, my miraculous is more powerful." She threw her yoyo and disappeared.

Chat could feel the tears ready to fall. All this time, he thought that she cared for him but, it was all a lie.

And, the Miraculous, the cat miraculous and the ladybug miraculous is based on the Yin Yang.

One can't overpower the other. Maybe it was just an illusion? Or maybe it was all real.

Chat started to run over the roofs of Paris, trying to run away from his father, Ladybug, everyone. He stopped and ducked behind a chimney. He felt a tear fall, then another, then another. He didn't make a peep but silently cried as the warm tears drenched his face.

At Marinett's house, Tikki relaxed on Mari's window sill. She watched the cars go by as Marinette was sewing a new shirt design. She was inspired by Chat Noir.

She was planning on making a whole line of clothing and called it, Miraculous. She sketched all of them out. She was about to finish the sleeve when Tikki interrupted her.

"Marinette?" She asked, trying to get her holder's attention.

"Yeah Tikki?" She asked, walking over to the window. She saw her partner running over the roof of the building across the street. "Is that Chat Noir?" She asked herself.

Tikki looked closely at his face. "It's as if he's running from something." Tikki questioned.

"Or someone." Marinette finished. She thought it was an akuma. She looked over at Tikki.

"You should follow to see what's going on." Tikki suggested.

That was exactly what Ladybug was thinking. "Tikki, Spots on." She let the pink light engulf her as if it was normal. As the light faded, her Ladybug costume appeared.

She jumped onto the balcony and started to chase after Chat Noir. She was on the opposite roof. She heard a voice coming from an alley. She looked at Chat who seemed to have noticed it. Chat hadn't noticed her yet. She looked into the alley.

"Where is that alley cat?" What? Ladybug thought to herself. She would never call me Chat that. She cared for him.

"Ladybug?" She heard Chat say. She thought it was another one of Volpina's illusions. It seemed like Chat was falling for it.

"You know what?" The illusion started to say. "I don't need him. Cat's are nothing but trouble, especially this one. Plus, my miraculous is more powerful." The illusion threw her yoyo and disappeared. Ladybug watched it run until it faded.

She looked over at Chat who started to run. She started to run after him.

My miraculous is not stronger than his. She thought. They're supposed to be equal. Plus, she would never say that about Chat, or even think about it.
