Chapter 3:ShadowMoth
Hawk Moth smiled at the sadness in the poor hero's heart. "Volpina, I'll be seeing you very soon." He said, taking the akuma back.
Hawk Moth felt the deep sadness in the young hero's heart and knew that he would have to become Shadow Moth. "Nooroo, Duusu, unify." He said. He transformed into Shadow Moth.
He held out his hand for one of his white butterflies to land on. One landed and he put a hand over it. The magic entered the butterfly and it turned into a dark akuma. A normal akuma would have streaks of purple but, this akuma, was all black. It was more powerful than the rest. It should be able to turn these sorrowful emotions into an akuma that would succeed at getting Ladybug's miraculous.
While Shadow Moth got ready to akumatize Chat, Ladybug found her partner who was silently shedding tears. "Kitty?" She asked, trying to get his attention. She was standing a couple feet away from him.
Chat looked into her eyes. His eyes were still the great green they always were. "It's me." She said, taking a step toward him.
"Why?" He asked in a quiet voice. It was filled with sadness mixed with anger.
"That wasn't me. You have to trust me. It was an illusion. It was Volpina." She said, trying to convince her partner. It broke her heart to see him this way.
"And how do I know that it was just an illusion?" He asked, his voice still filled with sadness but that anger was gone.
"Because I would never lie to a friend." She said. She took another step forward. "Please believe me."
"And how do I know you don't feel the same way the illusion does? How do I know that you wouldn't say or think the same thing?" Chat asked. Tears stained his cheeks. The tears stopped but you could tell he cried.
"Because, I've been saving Paris with you for a while now. I know you could never bring yourself to fight me. I know that you will always be by my side. That you would do anything to save my life. I know that you love me. I know you Chat Noir. I will never change my feelings for you. You're my friend and my partner. I could never say that about you much less think about it." She said. Ladybug wasn't doing the talking, her heart was. Everything she said was true. Every word.
"It still hurt." He said a bit coldly before running away.
"Chat!" She called for him. She ran after him. She jumped over every chimney and followed him till he came to a stop.
He turned to look at her then, he launched himself using his baton to the roof across the street.
She used her yoyo to follow. She went to the roof across an alleyway where he was running.
Ladybug watched as he came to a stop and stared at the dark akuma in front of him. "Chat?" She said so quietly that no one could hear her. "Please no." She pleaded for the akuma to go away.
Chat started to run the other direction. She followed from across the alley as he jumped over the chimneys. He came to a stop and stared at the dark akuma that was following him. He turned his head and looked at Ladybug. He had fear and panic in his eyes.
"I'm sorry M'lady." He said with a tear falling down his face as the akuma entered his ring.
"No!" She yelled. "No." She said in almost a whisper. She threw her head down. Come on Marinette. You need to save him. You need to save Chat Noir. She looked up and saw the newly akumatized villain piercing eyes staring right into your kind and determined ones.
