Job 7: Quest for the sword
Sly Cooper exits the safe house, jumps to a few ruins that can stand as a platform and takes out his binocucum. Bentley's face is on the left while Sly's is on the right.
"When one of the Panda King's fireworks blasted that side of the mountain, the Guru felt some strange presence coming from that area." informs Bentley.
"There must be something really special, maybe it can be of some help to us." replies Sly, Bentley's face gets replaced with Carmelita's.
"This could be bad if either foe obtains it, we'd better claim and perhaps confiscate it!" Carmelita says with determination, then gets replaced with Bentley's.
"The Guru says we'll need him to get up there, he'll know what's in there." With that Sly puts away his way to the edge of a cliff near the safe house by means of vines for climbing and sliding, plus the mushrooms for platform jumping. When he reaches there, Sly is greeted by both Carmelita and the Guru. The Guru speaks some Aborigine, yet both the raccoon and the fox understand what he's saying.
"You're saying it's some sort of legendary weapon in there?" asks Sly. The Guru responds in his language.
"So we'll have to get up there with some levitation?" asks Carmelita a little confused.
"Don't worry Carmelita, this worked before in China." replies Sly.
"Really?"
"Yes, it was where I got to confront General Tsao the first time." The Guru, using his moon staff, chants something and a ruin piece with a point levitates before them, followed by a fallen tree bit, a surprised Ibex, an equally surprised crane, and two more ruin pieces with spires for Sly to jump on. Carmelita jumps ahead, shoots any of the cranes that come by, and beckons the other two over. The Guru jumps on Sly's back as he continues his chanting. Sly jumps across without any trouble and the trio make their way into the mountain hole.
It's a long grotto tunnel, the Guru's staff glows more and more as the three proceed into the cave. Eventually, they reach a strange chamber with a multi-armed statue and a pedestal, on the pedestal, is a sword, laying flat. The Guru speaks some Aborigine, telling Sly to grasp the sword, which he does. No fewer than a few seconds of holding the Guru's stone glows and something in Sly's pocket glows as well. Carmelita reaches into Sly's pocket and pulls out a fire red stone, the Firestone of India that Sly meant to return glows as well, and then the Sword bursts into flame at the blade. Everyone's eyes shoot open in disbelief.
"Could this be the legendary sword Nandaka?" asks Sly, the Guru responds happily in his language, Sly smiles in return, so does Carmelita, though with some subdued zeal.
"Just don't get any ideas of keeping it former Thief." she wryly muses.
"Well it be worse if either Rajan or El Jefe claim it." Out of nowhere two rhinos who have somehow followed them, wearing a strange armor enter with scimitars in hand, show up clanging their blades. Carmelita fires two shots at the guards, but the armor nulls the effect of the bolts. Sly, with his flaming sword charges at the rhinos and with a few slices the armor falls off the guards. The astonished guards, now armorless flee, Sly looks at his sword.
"I don't know who made the armor, but I guess this could be handy." Both nod in agreement.
