Percy

I woke up surprisingly early the next morning getting ready for the day.

I decided to take a walk to Dumbledore's office to ask him when I would be able to go back to New York. As much as I liked it here, I did miss my mom and Paul.

On my way there, I past by one or two students here and there. I smiled at them and they waved back. There were more early risers than I had thought but not that much. I wonder what they did this early.

The sun was illuminating the halls through the window. It was a beautiful day out and I had to stay inside for the most of it. It's sucks.

I stopped in front of the statue to Dumbledore's office and said the password. It started to slowly move revealing staircases. I walked up these staircases coming to a set of double doors. I gently knocked on them and heard a faint come in. I did as ordered and walked inside.

"Percy, what can I do for you?" asked the elderly man in front of me.

"I was wondering when I could go back to New York." I said.

"New York? May I ask what for?"

"I just want to visit my mom and step dad because I never got to say goodbye to them. Maybe visit camp…" I trailed off not knowing exactly if I wanted to visit camp or not.

"I understand, though I cannot let you leave right now. It would cause some complications as to your mysterious disappearance. You can visit them as soon as the winter holiday comes. Most students tend to go back to their families and homes but some stay. Also I am sure Ms. Granger would be able to accompany you if she asks her parents." he finished off with a twinkle in his eyes.

His last statement caused me to choke and if i had been drinking something, I would have definitely spit it out.

"If that is all, I will be seeing you at breakfast." he getting up walking towards the door to open it for me.

After I was done with my coughing fit I got up and walked towards the door. I stopped mid stride out the door and turned to face Dumbledore wanting to ask him something that's been on my mind since I got here.

"Actually I do have a question that maybe you could ask since I ever got the chance to ask Chiron. How do you two know each other?"

He smiled at me and got the look in his eye that I've seen ever since I got here.

"It is not an exciting story, but it was a good one."

"Care to explain?"

Looking at the time Dumbledore said walking back towards his desk, "Very well we have some time before breakfast starts."

"When I was around your age, I was a carefree wizard as surprising as that may be. One day when I was out in London. I was just admiring what the muggles were able to do. I was really impressed at what they've accomplished. Anyways since I didn't get to go out into the muggle world, I saw something that I had never seen before. It was a pack of huge blacked for wolves. They were the size of SUV cars nowadays."

"Hellhounds?" I asked surprised he was able to see them.

He nodded his head.

"Wait that means you're clear sighted!"

"Yes, I am. The hellhounds spotted me and they started to run towards me. I was in a lot of shock. I had never seen them before so I was scared. When they got close I knew I was going to die if I didn't do anything. I fired some spells toward them but it didn't kill them no matter how many times they got hit. It seemed as if they couldn't die from it, but could get weakened and hurt by it. Right as I was going to become dog food, the hellhounds exploded into gold dust. I saw arrows in the ground. What I saw next didn't really shock me that much. It was a centaur with long brown hair and brown eyes. I wasn't as shocked because I have seen centaurs in the forbidden forest around Hogwarts before. I was curious as to why one was out here."

"What did you do?"

"I didn't know if I could trust him so I leveled my wand at him. He looked at me closely before smiling. He said 'you must be a wizard then from what I saw. I thought you were one of Hecate's children but I guess not.' I asked him what he meant and he told me he would explain if I came with him. The curious teenager I was, I went with him."

"Why was he in London?"

"I am sure you know that the gods follow where the flame is strongest. At that time, it was in London and now it's in New York."

"Do you know what Poseidon was doing in London when he met my mom since the gods have been in New York for a while now."

"That I do not know." I had a feeling he was holding back information but I didn't press any further.

"As I was saying I went with Chiron and told me about Greek mythology. He also told me I couldn't tell anyone and that my headmaster at the time knew about everything too. He told me he knew he could trust me. We kept in touch after departing after our first meeting. We became good friends and have kept in touch even since moving to America."

"So he saved your life and you guys became friends."

"Correct."

"I didn't know that the gods moved to America that recently."

I looked at the time and saw that breakfast was going to start soon.

Following my gaze he said, "Well we should head down to the dining hall."

I nodded my head in agreement and rose out if my seat.

"Did Chiron ever teach you how to fight monsters since you were clear sighted?" I asked walking down the stairs.

"He taught me the basics. Hogwarts has wards around it to protect it so I didn't really need to know much since I was here for most of my time growing up. Also I don't think monsters would go out of their way for a clear sighted mortal."

"I don't mean to sound arrogant or anything, but I've been called the strongest demigod to ever live as well as the best swordsman seen in a really long time. Plus I'm a son of Poseidon who has made a lot of enemies."

Dumbledore had a look in his face but I couldn't tell what ur was because as soon as it appeared it disappeared.

"Well most monsters are in America since they follow the gods. However there are still monsters here but I am hoping that the wards are masking your scent."

"Well what if they do come here? Spells won't be able to kill them and all I have is Riptide." I said concerned for everyone.

"Hmm since I know you hate taking classes and from what Chiron told me was that you taught the other campers how to wield a sword, why don't you become a part time teacher ?"

I stared at him with my mouth wide open.

"Won't that raise suspicion? Having a sword class for absolutely no reason at all."

"I am sure that we can both agree that safety of the others is important."

"Would they listen to me though?"

"They will. Percy they respect you, they know you can fight will spells so what will make them want to doubt you in your skill with a sword."

"But how would they see the monsters?"

"I will make sure they are taught how to properly identify a monster. Maybe there is a spell that can make them clear sighted so it would help them see a monster."

"Ok, I'll do it."

"Also when you go back to America, ask Chiron if he can supply us with any weapons. Don't ask for back up either. I know it would make things easier, but having a bunch of new students come out of nowhere in the middle of the year will alarm people. Getting you here was near impossible by itself."

"Ok." I said a bit disappointed.

"I know you miss your friends back at camp, but you've made friends here too. If you need anything come talk to me." he said smiling.

"Thank you Professor."

"I know it's kind of late, but just call me Albus, no more Dumbledore. I asked for your help, we are equals. Just make sure to call me Professor or Dumbledore when in front of other students."

"If it's fine, I think I'm going to stick with Dumbledore. I like it better."

"Sure and also, can you please wear your robes? It is part of the rules here at Hogwarts."

"Sorry Dumbledore, 'American Wizards' don't wear robes." I said putting air quotes around the American Wizard part.

He smiled with that twinkle his eyes.

"Very well, I guess I can't force another tradition upon our exchange student. Now let's head down to breakfast. We wouldn't want to be late now would we Percy?"

"Of course not, the headmaster had to set an example." I said grinning.

He smiled and we headed down to the dining hall. Most of it was filled by the time we got there though.

"Just make sure to behave in class. I now you don't really need the classes, but just don't disrupt them. I want them to be as prepared as possible for the upcoming war even though the Ministry denies it." whispered Dumbledore before walking to the head table.

Hmm why is it that everywhere I go there is war. My whole life is just about war isn't it. Why do the Fates hate me so much? I could tell this peace we are having would soon break. I just hope these kids will be ready for what's coming. I'll make sure they're prepared. I've had enough friends die and I won't let anymore.

I was interrupted out of my thought by a voice in the front of the room.

"Mr. Jackson! Can you please take a seat so we can start breakfast." said a smiling Dumbledore. He didn't look mad, he just seemed amused.

I looked around me and noticed everyone was staring at me.

I turned a slight pink from embarrassment and rubbed my neck.

"Sorry Professor." I said sheepishly.

I walked over to where my friends were sitting.

"Where were you this morning? Harry said you were gone when he woke up." whispered Hermione from my right.

"I went to talk to Dumbledore."

She gave me a questioning look.

"I'll explain later." She nodded accepting my answer and turned her attention to Dumbledore.

I didn't really pay attention to what he was saying. I was just hungry and waiting for the food to appear.

As soon as Dumbledore stopped talking and made the food appear there was instant chatter among all the students, everyone was eating.

"Where did you go Percy? When I woke up everyone was still asleep but you were gone." said Harry

"I went to talk to Dumbledore about when I could go back to America to visit my family."

"Oh you must miss your family being all the way across seas." said Neville.

"Yep." I said.

"Why do you call Professor Dumbledore, Dumbledore? You completely leave the professor part out." asked Ginny.

"I don't know." I said shrugging my shoulders.

I saw Hermione rolled her eyes and smile next to me.

"Anyways what are you guys planning on doing for the Winter Holiday?" I asked.

"I'll probably go back home, meet up with Luna and if any of you guys are free." said Neville.

"Well the four of us are going to go back to the Burrow." said Ginny pointing to Ron, Harry, and Lavender.

"What about you Hermione?" asked Lavender.

"I think I'm just going back home." said Hermione.

"Well why don't you come with me back to the States?" I asked

"Really? I always wanted to go there, but I was never able to." Hermione said eagerly

I smiled, "Yea, but make sure to tell your parents, I don't want them to think you disappeared."

"I wish I could go but mom would never allow it." said Ginny

"Maybe next time." I said teasingly

"I think I'll just let you two have some alone time." said Ginny, then winked at us

This caused the two of us to turn a bright pink causing Ginny to laugh.

Connecting our reactions and what Ginny had previously said, "Oh my! Are you two dating? Since when?" demanded Lavender

In a strange way, Lavender reminded me of a daughter of Aphrodite, always wanting to gossip.

"Lavender lower your voice! We don't need the whole entire planet to know!" said Hermione, clearly annoyed by Lavender's squeals.

"Sorry! But when?"

"Just recently, about a couple of days ago." I said

"Well it's about time." said Neville

"What do you mean?" I asked with my mouth full of food.

"Percy can you please finish chewing before you talk." said Hermione

I smiled sheepishly, "Sorry."

"It's not rocket science to tell that you two liked each other." said Neville

"Was is that obvious?" asked Hermione

"I may not be good with this kind of stuff, but even I had some sort of feeling." said Harry

"You got that right." said Ginny

"Hey!"

"I'm kidding."

Our conversation continued out through breakfast, talking about random stuff. Before I knew it I was on my way to my first class with Harry and Ron, potions.

At the end of class Professor Slughorn asked Harry and I to stay after class. We told Ron we would meet up with him after.

"What do you think he wants?" Harry asked

"I've got no idea. We didn't break any rules did we?"

"No. I just hope it's nothing bad."

When the room was empty except for the three of us, Professor Slughorn beckoned us over.

"You two are probably wondering why I have asked you to stay." said Professor Slughorn

"Indeed Professor." said Harry

"Well I would like to ask you two to attend a dinner tonight."

"What sort of dinner sir?" I asked

"It is for the students I see have potential, the best students that I teach will attend." said Professor Slughorn

I knew where this was going, Albus had informed about this. He also didn't tell Slughorn my true identity so I had to be careful around him.

"I can understand why you asked Harry, but why would you invite me?" I asked

"Percy, I know you are a great at potions at heart. You just choose not to do the work and when you do it, you do it lazily and without effort. You're not the first student hat I've had who doesn't want to be in class. Although there are sometimes I do see you actually try and I'm impressed." explains Professor Slughorn

I stared at him in shock. Was I really that obvious?

"Uh thank you professor." I said

"The two of you will attend then?"

Harry and I looked at each other before turning back to him and nodding our head yes.

"Great! I will see the two of you tonight. Oh and also wear something formal." said Professor Slughorn

"Now you must hurry on, you don't want to be late for your next class." he said ushering us out the door.

"Well I wasn't expecting that." I said while we walked down the hallways

"Neither was I." said Harry

"What! Gods Harry, you're one of the best people at potions in our year!"

He rubbed his neck sheepishly, "Well, not exactly…"

"What do you mean?"

He pulled out his potions book and showed it to me. I noticed it looked old and about to fall apart if yanked viciously.

"What? You're potions book is old and breaking down. What's so special about that?"

"Let me show you." He opened the book and I saw writing all over it. Things in the book were scratched out, new formulas and such were written to replace them.

"You've been using this book? It tells you all the right formulas and stuff to make the potions?" I asked amazed.

"Yea, but on the inside of the cover it says 'Property of The Half-Blood Prince'." he said showing me the name.

I snorted. Of course it would be Severus.

"What?" asked Harry

"Oh, um I thought it was a funny thing to call yourself." I said quickly

"Hm I guess so."

We turned the corner and I saw our Charms room. The door was about to close.

"Wait!" I yelled

The door stopped and slowly opened again. I saw Seamus standing there grinning.

"C'mon you two! Don't want to be late now!" he called

Harry and I decided to run over to class. Guess who got there first.

"Hey Seamus." I said

"Hey." responded Seamus

"Thanks Seamus." said Harry

"No problem mate."

We walked into class. It was about to start so we took our seats. As soon as I took my seat I knew this was going to be a long class.

~~Line Break~~

"What do you think this dinner will be like Percy?" Harry asked while we were getting ready.

"I don't know, but I hope the food is good though."

He smiled, "Is all you think about food?"

"What?! No!" I said defending myself.

At that moment my stomach growled causing Harry to laugh.

"Well your stomach says so otherwise."

"Yea, yea, yea. You caught me I like to eat a lot." I said raising my hands in surrender.

Harry rolled his eyes at my antics.

Finishing up, "Let's go, we wouldn't want to be late. Even worse they might have started eating." I said worriedly

He nodded and we were off on our way to Professor Slughorn's office.

When we got to his office we heard voices inside.

"Looks like people are already here." I said

"Let's go in." Harry said before reaching for the door knob.

He opened the door and everyone inside looked at us.

"Ah Harry, Percy, good for you to join us. We were just about to start. I thought you two weren't going to come after all." Professor Slughorn said a bit worried while walking towards us.

"Sorry Professor." Harry and I said

"There no need, now come sit." said the professor leading us to the table.

I surveyed the table and I was surprised to see Hermione and Ginny. There were two seat between them that had open spaces coincidently. Harry and I quickly took our seats next to our girlfriends. We greeted them and they greeted us back.

"Now let us begin." said the professor

"Why don't we go around and say our names in case some of you don't know each other." he continued

Professor Slughorn turned to his right facing a girl. "Would you like to start?"

"Hi, I'm Melinda Bobbin." said the girl.

Next was a familiar face from Gryffindor, but j didn't know who he was.

"Cormac McLaggen." the bit said briefly.

It went around in a circle. It went from Cormac to Hermione to me to Harry to Ginny to Flora Carrow to Hestia Carrow and last was Blaise Zabini. Flora, Hestia, and Blaise were all Slytherin. Hestia and Flora were obviously twins though Hestia and Flora didn't seem like their namesakes. I couldn't tell too much since they didn't talk too much.

When Professor Slughorn let us eat and talk amongst ourselves I turned to Hermione, "Why am I not surprised you're here and why didn't you tell me?"

She rolled her eyes at my former statement, "I didn't think it was that important and I would've told you if you mentioned it to me."

"Well you look amazing as usual Ms. Granger." I said

This caused her to blush lightly, " You don't look to bad yourself Mr. Jackson."

"Not too bad? Not the answer I was looking for all my hotness."

"Don't get to over yourself now. I don't need my best friend and boyfriend to be an arrogant git." she replied playfully.

"Aw are you worried about me?"

"Please, you're not that important."

I put my hand on my chest and gasped in mock hurt. She rolled her eyes and grinned at me.

After a bit, Professor Slughorn dismissed us to go mingle and not sit the whole time while he went to go take of something quickly.

"The food was good." I said as Hermione and I walked off to another side of the room.

"I will never understand how you eat so much but stay in shape." Hermione said jabbing a finger at my stomach only to meet my rock hard abdomens.

"Either way you know you like it."

"Yea but I still remember the small scrawny boy from all those years ago. The one who struggled to lift things that weren't even that heavy."

"Yes but I was that scrawny boy that protected you from those bullies who called you a nerd. I don't regret taking those hits one bit because it lead me to having a wonderful best friend."

I could see tears start to form in her eyes. I grabbed her hand and squeezed it reassuringly.

"Thank you Percy. For everything you have done for me. I'm glad to have meet such a great person like you."

I pulled her close to me and hugged her.

"I would do anything for you." I whispered into her ear.

"And I would too." she whispered back.

I held her at arm's distance and looked at her. Her eyes were a little puffy with some dry tear marks.

I lifted her head with my hand. Our eyes locked, hazel brown on sea green. We leaned in and kissed each other briefly. The kiss was short but it held a lot of emotion.

Who knew a professor's club of top students would be a place for a time like this.

"Want to get out of here?" I asked

"Yea."

The two of us went to Professor Slughorn when he came back into the room.

"Professor, we would love to stay, but Hermione isn't feeling too good so we are going to leave." I said

The professor looked at Hermione and said it was fine for the two of us to leave a little early. We went to go find Ginny and Harry that we were leaving.

Ginny was leaning on Harry's shoulder shoulder and they were laughing. Hermione suggested that we leave them alone and just tell them tomorrow if they ask.

We made our way out of the office.

"What do you want to do now?" asked Hermione

"Let's go outside and relax. It's been awhile since I've been able to relax."

"But Percy that's against rules. We aren't allowed to go outside at night."

"It'll be fine, trust me."

"Bu-"

"Mione, relax. It'll be fun I promise but before we go let's go change into something more comfortable."

"Fine, lets go."

We walked back to the tower of gold and redness. When I had said this once Hermione said I was being disrespectful but Harry and Neville just laughed. It was true! The Gryffindor tower is like all gold and red! I bet the other houses places are full of their colors too.

When we got to the common room, it was completely silent. It must still be dinner time.

"I'll meet you here in five minutes." I said

Hermione nodded her head and we went to our separate dorms. I quickly went to my room and changed into some new clothes, black jeans, blue t-shirt, and a pair of sneakers. I took a hoodie as well since it was also my winter time and it was nighttime.

I quickly left the room to go back down to the common room. Hermione was coming down the stairs at the same time. She was wearing blue jeans and a red t-shirt with a hoodie. Gods she looked beautiful in a thrift she wore whether it be casual clothes or a dress.

"You done staring?"

"What I can't look at my beautiful girlfriend?"

She blushed slightly. "We should hurry up if we don't want anyone to see is leaving."

Smiling victoriously I led us out of the tower.

We quickly and as quietly as possible walked down the corridors. We came to the front entrance. I tried opening the huge doors but got no where.

"Did you really think that would work?" asked Hermione

"I don't see you doing anything."

"Step aside."

Hermione took out her wand, "Alohomora."

A charm flew from her wand and opened the doors.

"Show off." I mumbled

"They don't call me 'The Brightest Witch' of our age for nothing."

"Look who's the cocky one now."

"Oh no! You've been rubbing off of me! There must be some sort of spell to reverse this curse!"

"Haha very funny." I said before walking out the doors.

With both of us standing outside the doors, Hermione cast another spell, "Colloportus."

The doors swing shut. It was a full moon and it was shining brightly. I wonder if Artemis could see me right now. She probably didn't care about a male anyways.

Shaking the thought off I grabbed Hermione's hand. I noticed it was cold and looked at her to be slightly shivering.

"Are you cold?"

"No I'm fi-"

I had already took off my sweater and wrapped it around her shoulders.

"Percy you'll get cold! I'm fine, you'll get sick!"

"A thank you wouldn't have been fine."

"You should really ta-"

"Hermione I'm fine. I've been in worse conditions."

"Fine." she grumbled zipping my sweater on over hers and zipping it up. It was a bit big on her but she looked cute in it.

I took her hand into mine again, this time it was warm. I lead her over to my favorite spot by the Great Lake. Right by the big tree we say under with Harry and Ginny.

I laid down in the grass. Hermione did the same thing next to me. I looked up into the stars. It was such a clear night. It was so much different from New York. You wouldn't be able to see this many stars because of all the city lights.

I gasped as I saw Zoë shining as bright as usual liking ready to hunt with her bow.

"What?" asked Hermione.

"You know that constellation, The Huntress?"

"Yea, what about it? They discovered not too long ago."

"Well that use to be a friend of mine. At first she didn't like me because I was a boy, but she became a good friend of mine."

"What happened to her? How did she become a constellation?"

"It started when I went on a quest to Westover Hall."
