Hermione

After that girl that looked very similarly to Annabeth came and they left together I felt great. Who did she think she was, coming here like she owned the place.

"Sorry about that Mione." said Percy.

I nodded my head, "It's no problem. What were we discussing?"

"Ah yes, I should be able to supply you with some weapons, but I cannot give you too much or the children will question why a good bulk of the weapons disappeared. I can ask the Hephaestus Cabin to make a few." informed the mentor of heroes.

"That would be awesome Chiron!" said a grinning Percy.

"Have there been any monster attacks so far?" asked Chiron.

Percy and I shook our head no.

"Hmm, I see. Moving onto other things, how long will you two be staying at camp? You know, today is Friday and you know what that means Percy." said Chiron.

"Man I miss capture the flag. Will she be able to participate or will it expose her identity?" asked the son of Poseidon.

"If Ms. Granger would like to. If she does we can say she is a clear sighted mortal that was blessed by Hecate but for her to perform magic she must channel it through her wand." informed Chiron.

"What do you say Mione?" asked Percy.

I thought about it for a bit. Capture the flag sounds fun from what Percy has told me about it, but then again I don't know how I feel about fighting people with swords, spears, etc. I guess it could be fun and a new experience to try.

"I'll play, but I want to be on Percy's team." I said after two minutes

"Aw, want me to protect you as always?" teased the green eyed boy.

"Oh please, I don't need your protection. If anything you need me."

"I'll think about. When does your holiday break end?" asked the centaur ending our little disagreement even though I knew he was right.

Percy looked at me with an eyebrow raised. I shook my head and laughed, "Seriously Percy? Do you pay attention to any announcements Professor Dumbledore gives?"

"C'mon you know I listen whenever he gives an announcement….ok maybe sometimes…." he trailed off.

"I'm glad to know you are doing well at school Percy." smiled Chiron.

"Holiday break end in two weeks from today, but if you don't mind and no offense I don't want to be here the whole time. I want to go explore New York City." I said.

"Completely understandable and I don't mind. Go see what the city has to offer. I'm sure you'll like it. Now Percy why don't you go show Hermione around the camp before lunch." stated Chiron.

Nodding his head, "Ok see you at lunch Chiron. It was good seeing you again."

"It was nice seeing you again my boy, and nice meeting you Hermione. I hope your stay here is wonderful." said Chiron.

"It was nice meeting you too and thank you. I'm sure it will be." I said politely.

I followed Percy out the door, closing it behind me and we walked to the front of the house.

"So where to first?" I asked.

"Let's go to the beach." said Percy.

We walked to the beach in silence thinking about everything that has happened.

"Are you excited for capture the flag?" asked Percy.

"I don't know how I feel about it. What if I hurt someone with a spell? Then what?"

"Don't worry, demigods have a high resistance to the spells. If you don't remember I took quite a beating and lived from all those hexes that would've killed anyone else."

"True but what do I do if someone gets to close to me? I don't know any combat unlike all of you who train everyday."

"How about I teach you after lunch. For now let's relax on the sand."

We walked onto the sand and closer to the shore. Percy walked all the way up to where the waves stopped. He looked at ease and relaxed like there were no worries in the world.

"Do you trust me Mione?"

"Yea, why?"

"Give me your hand and close your eyes." He had his hand out in front of me. I placed my hand into his, perfectly fitting and closed my hands.

"Percy what are we doing?"

"Don't worry. Now just start walking forward."

"But I'll go right into the water!"

"Trust me."

I walked ahead waiting for my pants go get wet. As we kept on walking, the water never came. Were we walking on water?

"Open your eyes."

I opened my eyes to see we were a good distance from the shore standing on water. This was incredible, to be standing on water.

"What do you think?"

"Its incredible."

"I have another thing to show you." Before I knew it, the water started to surround us forming a bubble. We started to go down into the water. It was beautiful down here. To see all the fish and everything.

"Like it now?"

"Its beautiful Percy."

"I thought you would like it."

~~~Line Break~~~
We talked about random things for a couple of hours before Percy said it was time for lunch and that we should head to the pavilion. So much for that tour, but I rather just talk with Percy. It was weird at first to see Percy talking to any sea animal they came and talked to him. We walked onto the beach and headed for the pavilion. Chiron was standing by the entrance of it waiting for us.
"The others are probably wondering where I am. I'm going to introduce you two first before you come in, ok?"
We nodded our heads in understanding before Chiron left and went inside. After a few moments, we heard Chiron give us an introduction.
Releasing a breath, Percy said, "Here goes nothing."
As soon as we walked into the pavilion, I saw ten people run towards Percy. They all looked different except two that looked exactly the same. They tackled Percy into a massive group hug, leaving me standing there awkwardly. I didn't mind too much, Percy was being reunited with his friends that he hasn't seen in a long time. I heard a few "Where were you?", "Don't disappear without saying anything!", things like that. I could see the campers who had never met Percy staring at Percy in awe as if he was a god, I guess was sort of true because he was half. Then again they are all half gods… Bloody hell this is still kind of confusing.
After they all finished hugging him, Chiron ordered, "Everyone settle down, you can ask Percy questions after lunch. For now return back to your tables."
All the different teens went back to the tables they had come from. Percy took my hand and lead me to the table where Chiron was currently sitting. Once we were seated food was being served by these things I have never seen before. I would have to ask Percy about that later. Another strange thing was everyone getting up to put some of their food into a good sized fire in the middle of the pavilion. Even Percy and Chiron went to go do it while I was just sitting there kind of awkwardly. I felt someone staring at me and when I looked around I caught Annabeth who quickly turned away.
The food was good and kind of different, but in a good way. Lunch finished quickly and the different groups of similar looking teens left the pavilion left leaving Percy, Chiron and I alone.
We said our byes to Chiron before Percy started going to the arena.
"What do you think you are going to be comfortable with. Don't choose anything extravagant because I don't think you will be able to use it too quickly." asked Percy
"I don't know, probably just a basic sword or dagger or something." I stated.
The arena was empty which I was quite thankful for. I didn't need anyone watching Percy and I. I also didn't want to be embarrassed at how bad I'll probably be. Percy beckoned me towards what I presumed was the armory. He opened it and I was correct. There were all sorts of weapons in here. Aat a closer look they were all dull and blunted.
"Why are they blunted?" I asked curiously.
"Well its for safety so new people like you don't cut themselves. Now lets see what fit your best."
Percy brought me to where all the swords were. He looked at them for a moment before picking up two swords.
"Feel these." I took the sword from his right hand first. It felt a bit too light and kind of awkward in my hand. I shook my head and gave it back to Percy. I took the sword in his left hand. This one was kind of too heavy and somewhat comfortable in my head. I shook my head again.
"Hmm well those are the only two swords that would be able to suit you. Perhaps a dagger or something?"
Percy lead me to a table that had all sorts of daggers varying in shape and size. There was one that caught my eye. I picked it up and it felt perfect in my hand. The weight was just right. Everything felt right just like when I hold my wand. The dagger had a red and silver hilt in a sort of striped pattern. At the bottom of the hilt was an eagle head. The shape of the blade was kind of curved. (AN: Its Assassin's Creed Syndicate Eagle Splendor Kukri if you want to see what is looks like.)
"Interesting choice. That is a kukri, how does it feel?"
"Perfect."
"Stay here then for just a second while I go get some stuff."
He went off into the back away from my view. Percy came back a few moments later with a practice dummy with a sheathe with the same hilt as my kukri sticking out. He motioned me to follow him outside. I closed the door to the armory once we were outside.
"This is a practice dummy you are going to use a little later. This is a sharpened version of your kukri for tonight. Hold it to make sure it's good." he said holding out the kukri.
I took it into my hand and it felt perfect just like the dulled version.
"It's good." I said handing it back to Percy.
"First things first let me see your stance with the kukri." he ordered.
I held the kukri in my right hand and pointed it out as a reflex. I knew instantly what I did wrong, I was holding it as if was a wand. I quickly bent my elbows and spread my feet a bit.
"I'm glad you corrected your mistake, but you're not quite there just yet." Percy pulled out a bracelet out of his pocket. He tugged on the little charm hanging from it and it turned into a kukri with a golden hilt with an intricate design on it that I couldn't really tell what it was. The blade was silver but unlike my blade where both sides were straight, the curved side was kind of like a saw. (AN: Assassin's Creed Syndicate Legendary Assassin Kukri)
"Where did you get that from?"
"It was in the back. I'm pretty good with these things, but I still prefer Riptide over anything."
"Riptide?"
"Oh right, I never showed you." He took out his ballpoint pen I always some him twirl sometimes. I thought he just kept the pen with him because its was some sort of good luck thing he always had with him. What he did surprised me next. He uncapped the pen and it elongated into a golden bronze sword. It shimmered and glowed a bit. It had a leather wrapped hilt. The sword looked simple but it still looked impressive.
"Your pen was a sword the whole time!"
"So?"
"What if someone had uncapped it. It could've hurt someone!"
"Don't worry Mione. My sword and these kukris are made out of celestial bronze even if it doesn't look bronze. The color of the metal was changed but that besides the point. These weapons can only hurt monsters, demigods, demi titans, gods, titans, primordials, etc."
I sighed in relief worrying that I could accidentally hurt someone back at Hogwarts.
"See I had everything planned out. Though if you are a clear sighted mortal then these can hurt you, by the way we still need to find some sort of spell or something that will let you and the others all see monsters for their protection." Percy informed me.
"So are you saying that if we become clear sighted to be able to see monsters, then we can hurt each other with these weapons."
"Yep." he said popping the p.
"Then we are going to have to be extra careful." I said.
Percy's eyes widened as if he just realized something, "Wait you have to be a clear sighted mortal if you can see these weapons. Gah I'm so dumb." He face palmed and shook his head.
"Of course you would forget an important detail like that." I said.
"Well that answers one question, now let me show you the proper stance and let me see if you can mimic it without my help."
Percy got into a stance that I would assume and professional would know. HIs legs were spread apart just right with his knees slightly bent. Both of his arms were up, elbow bents. His left hand which was the free one was a little more forward than the one holding the kukri. HIs posture was slightly slouched and not straight up. (AN: I really don't know what the stance for is with a kukri. I'm just making something up.)
"Now you do it." he said standing up straight.
I tried to mimic what he did. I spread my feet, knees bent. Slouched a little and bent my arms with them up. Percy walked up to me and spread my feet a tiny bit more and raised my arms a little more. He then brought my left arm a little more forward since it was the free one.
"Your free hand will let you be able to grab enemies, punch them, and block incoming weapons with the vambrace that you will get. Do not worry, using it to block is completely safe." Percy informed me.
"Now remember this stance and redo it completely. We're going to do this until you get it perfect."
I got into the stance.
"Again."
I sighed because this was completely different from what I was used to doing and got into the stance.
~~~Line Break~~~

It was currently six o'clock and Percy and I just finished training. We worked on my stance until it was good enough for basic combat. I would still need to work on it though. We also worked on basic combat tactics and how to use the kukri. Currently I was going to the girls' shower where Percy showed me. I wanted to wash up because I was tired and sweaty. I went to the showers and thankfully no one was here. I quickly got undressed and went into the shower. I turned on hot water and letting it pour onto me. I got some soap and started to wash myself. Twenty minutes later I was finished and started to dry myself. By the time I finished dressing myself I heard the door open.

In walked was one of the girls that tackled Percy in a hug when Chiron announced his return.

"Oh hi there! Hermione right?" asked the girl.

She had kaleidoscope eyes, they kept on changing color. Her brown hair was cut unevenly like she was trying to hide its beauty. She was easily a beautiful girl, but looked like she was trying to hide it.

I nodded my head, "Yes and you are?"

"Oh sorry, I'm Piper Mclean, daughter of Aphrodite." Figured

'

"So how do you like it here so far?" she asked.

"Its pretty interesting, completely new world. Its different from what I was used to." I explained.

"Yea being a demigod is...different. Anyways how did you meet Percy?" she asked.

"Well he was uh actually in London and I was being attacked by some monsters and he saved me." I lied.

"Do you know why he was in London?"

I shook my head no.

"Anyways, you two seem kind of close." she said with a smile on her face.

Her statement caused my cheeks to turn slightly pink.

"Hey I don't have a problem with it. Not after what Annabeth did to him. He broke his heart and made him disappear for four months! I'm just glad he has found someone he could be close with again. I just want you know to know that I may not look dangerous, but just a warning, don't break Percy's heart." Piper said before leaving. I didn't even get a chance to reply to her before she was out the door.

I shook off her dangerous look and gathered the rest of my belongings and walked out the restroom. I walked over to the Big House where Percy and Chiron were talking about some stuff.

"Hey Mione!" Percy greeted with a smile.

"Hermione." nodded Chiron,

"Hi, what were you guys talking about?" I asked.

"Percy was just telling me about his time at Hogwarts and everything that has happened so far." explained Chiron.

Just then Percy's stomach growled rather loudly causing me to smile.

"Well seems like someone is hungry." I said.

"Why don't we start heading to the pavilion then? It is almost time for dinner anyways." said Chiron leading the way. I quickly put my stuff down that I didn't need and followed the two outside. We started walking towards the pavilion where I could see some of the other children walking there.

"Do you think you're ready for capture the flag tonight?" asked Chiron.

"I don't know, my instructor was awfully terrible and didn't know what he was doing." I joked.

"Hey!"

"Honestly though, I think I can handle myself maybe if I face one of the newer campers. I don't know." I rambled.

"What! That is impossible, the great Hermione Granger doesn't know something!" said Percy to which he received a punch in his right shoulder.

The three of us walked over to the main table and sat, well I guess Percy and I sat… Anyways the pavilion was filing in and after a couple of minutes everyone was here assuming Chiron gave some announcements about capture the flag to which everyone cheered. When the food was served I decided to follow Percy to the fire and sacrifice food so I wouldn't look suspicious.

"Um to Poseidon for having such a wonderful son and uh Hecate because you're the goddess of magic.." I whispered making sure no one heard me, but I'm sure Percy heard me because he snorted. I'll just make sure to give him a matching punch on his left arm later. Everyone walked to their respective tables and started to dig in. I observed everyone, here it seemed like one big family unlike back in Hogwarts. Although the campers usually had to do activities with their own cabin, they were sociable with each other unlike Hogwarts where everyone was divided into their own house and usually stayed among their house. That wasn't always the case like Luna who usually was with us whenever she could be. Our lives were so different yet similar in a way.

After dinner was over, everyone went towards the creek and all the campers gathered around the Chiron. The only source of light was the moonlight and some of the torches around us.

"This is the dividing line between both sides in case you were wondering." whispered Percy.

I nodded thankfully.

"Alright everybody listen up! You know the rules, no maiming or killing. Magical items are also allowed." said Chiron.

Everyone just nodded, eager to play the game.

"Now for the two teams, on Red Team we will have…"

~~~Line Break~~~
The horn was blown and everyone on red team followed the plans that was laid out. We were going to have three teams go in three different ways. The main bulk of red team would go straight down the middle, distracting and attacking as many of the blue team they could. The left team would be a secondary distraction/back up for right team when they come back from getting the flag. I was given the ever so exciting job of protecting the flag. There were traps set around the perimeter of the flag in this clearing. There were half a dozen groups of threes spread around as well, but I was put here by myself. I was thankful and not thankful at the same time because I wanted the full experience but then I wasn't sure if I was actually ready. I could hear shouts and clangs of metal colliding with the occasional scream in pain which would cause my to flinch a little. The heavy armor didn't exactly help either because I wasn't use to the weight.
I don't know how long after the game started there was a rustle of leaves coming to my left. I took my wand out and prepared myself.
"Who's there?" I shouted, though knowing if the person was smart enough they wouldn't say anything.
A figure appeared in the clearing with blue stripes on the armor and a helmet covering their head. Bloody hell they go through the defenses. I leveled my wand towards the person waiting for them to do something. The figure started to walk towards me slowly as if it was taunting me.
"Expulso." I said. The spell flew towards my enemy clearing catching the person off guard but they were fast enough to recover and get out of the way.
"I don't know what that was, but it won't matter soon." said a feminine voice that sounded somewhat familiar.
She charged at me in full sprint closing the distance between us. I fired spell after spell but she kept on dodging them. She was getting closer, I could only slow her down but she would eventually reach me. Deciding I would have to just go for it and hope I don't get seriously injured, I pulled out the kukri from its sheath on my waist. When the girl finally came close enough she took a wild swung that was slow enough to easily block for anyone, yet I barely blocked it. I could see a grin appear under the helmet, she was just toying me. She know she could easily beat me in this battle. The girl pushed me back with attack after attack that I was barely able to dodge or block. Bloody hell this is a lot harder than Percy makes it look. Her next swing was faster than her previous ones and it cut my right cheek drawing blood from it.
The girl started to attack a bit faster, hitting me with the flat her odd looking sword. I was sure going to have a lot of bruises after this battle. She stopped attacking me and studied me. Taking the opportunity I went on the offensive for the first time this whole battle but it was short lived as she grabbed my right hand and punched me in the face. My head rolled back and my helmet fell off.
The girl rushed toward me and her sword was coming towards my face. I was just barely able to slightly move my head out of the way, but I felt her sword connect with my cheek. I touched my hand and there was now blood on my hand.
I growled, "Why are you toying with me? What do you want?"
The girl just smiled and ran towards me with her sword ready to strike. She swung towards my head and I raised the kukri to try and block it, but before I could even react she moved so fast and hit me on the side of my head with the flat of her blade. I stumbled backwards and felt intense pain in my head like a massive, massive headache. I fell on my back as the girl approached me.
"Don't worry about who I am because soon enough no one will know who you are." said the girl raising her sword above me. My vision was fading in and out, turning black. After all I've been through I'm going to die in a recreational game. Just as the sword was about to hit me another sword stopped it with a loud clang that didn't help my already pounding head.
The last thing I heard was a growl before my world faded into darkness.
AN: Here is chapter 14, I hope you enjoyed it. I'm sorry the update time has been getting longer and longer. I've just been really busy with everything and I will try to work out something so I have more time to write.
On another note what do you guys think of this chapter? Please let me know, any feedback would be appreciated. Compliment or criticize me, anything to let me know how I could make my story better.
One last thing I was asked a while ago to make a sort of prequel story to this one of Percy and Hermione's childhood. Let me know if you would like that, but if it does happen it would be a while from now. It would probably be after this story is finished. I don't know if it would be a one shot or a story though.
