Percy

I felt something was wrong as I was advancing towards enemy territory. It wasn't a chill sent down my spine it was a shiver down my spine that made me freeze. Whatever my feeling was it told me that something was wrong and I couldn't help but think about Hermione.

As I passed the river I immediately jump back as a sword pass through where I would have been if I hadn't move back. Out of the trees shadow came Jason with his golden gladius in hand ready to fight. "I see you haven't lost your touch after leaving for a few months." said Jason

I grinned, "And let you defeat me? Of course I still trained."

"Good because I'll feel bad if I won so easily." said Jason getting into his stance.

"You say said that like you have a chance against me." I laugh getting ready to.

In a split second we charge at each other swords swinging and meeting at the middle sending sparks out to the side. Our faces were close and we were both grinning pretty hard.

"So what plan did Annabeth make up now." I said as I step back to give myself some room. Jason immediately follow up with a downward swing that I block with Riptide.

"Not really sure she was pretty vague this time around. Didn't tell us that much beside for me to stall you and the rest to advance in groups." said Jason nonchalantly still trying to disarm me.

"Doesn't she usually say more then that? What did she say she was going to do?" I smack away his gladius asking, knocking him of balance.

"I think she said she was going for the flag with her siblings." said Jason recovering and backing up from my thrust with Riptide.

I narrowed my eyes, "Is that so?"I had a growing suspicion that Hermione was indeed in trouble. Annabeth was looking at Hermione pretty strangely when she saw that Hermione had a red emblem on her armour.

"Jason, I need you to believe me, Hermione could be in serious danger right now." I said worriedly.

"And why is that?" asked Jason with his grip tightening on his gladius."Not trying to trick me to let you go and defend your flag hmmm Percy?"

"Jason, listen, I really need you to believe me on this. I think Annabeth is trying to seriously harm Hermione. Just come with me and you'll see for yourself." I pleaded.

"I doubt that Annabeth will actually harm a new camper like Hermione even if she became your new girlfriend." Jason retorted.

"I doubt that to, but I just don't like this feeling I have. I can tell something is going to happen." I replied.

"Come on it's Annabeth the most she would do is probably give her a few bruises and some cuts. Now stop stalling and get ready to lose!" yelled Jason getting into his position with his gladius in front of him.

"Fine I guess I have to take you out first." I shouted back, moving Riptide from my side and in front of me.

"Good now lets see who's the stronger demigod here!" shouted the son of Jupiter running forward with his sword on his right, getting ready to swing at me.

"Of course it's me!" I yelled jumping back from his swing immediately swinging back at his unprotected side. It was my turn to go on the offensive now. Jason raised his gladius from his side to block my slash. I had the advantage as Jason was still recovering from his swing and blocked at the wrong angle. I release my block and circled around Jason while he was turning around with his sword up. I slammed my sword near his hilt and held it there.

I slowly pushed Jason towards the creek. He was just a few steps from the creek. I smiled, this was my chance. I feinted to his left side and he took the bait. I quickly sent a flurry of attacks to his right making him stumble back into the creek.

I smiled at Jason, "Checkmate blondie."

"What?" His eyes widened as realization dawned upon him and he look down seeing that he was nearly knee deep in water.

"Wai-wait i though we weren't using our powers in this fight!" shouted Jason in surprise.

"We never agree on that and plus I knida in a hurry so to bad!" I roar feeling a pull in my gut causing the river to blow up in a Michael Bay-esque fashion. Instead of actual explosions though, it was just a couple of huge torrents of water most likely knocking the kid out.

Remembering what was going, I ran back as fast as possible to where we had put our flag. I flapping of the red cloth in the cool breeze. I could faintly make out two figures fighting off to the side. Hermione! If even possible, I ran even faster to get to the clearing. I got closer and could see Hermione lying on the floor, beaten with someone in blue team's armor and an all too familiar drakon bone sword.

I heard Annabeth say, "Don't worry about who I am because soon enough no one will know who you are." She raised the sword to kill Hermione. I jumped towards them, parrying the strike just in time to save Hermione's life. I growled at Annabeth, to say I was pissed was a huge understatement. Why would she go this far to try and kill her?

"Whats wrong with you Annabeth!" I roared in anger pushing her sword away with Riptide. I was absolutely livid with anger as Annabeth fell back from my shove. She almost killed Hermione!

"Why Annabeth! You almost killed Hermione! I thought you were better than this!" I shouted with my sword pointed at her. I looked to my side and I saw Hermione with her eyes closed. It seemed that she fell unconscious. I looked back at Annabeth and her eyes were wide in shock staring at me.

"Oh god Percy I-I-I didn't mean it, I wasn't going to kill her." stuttered Annabeth sitting up from the ground.

"Then what were you doing Annabeth with your sword so clearly above her head about to impale it!" I replied with sarcasm.

"Percy lis-" I didn't want to hear what she had to say. I charge at her with Riptide, sending flurries of strikes all over knocking her on to the ground again. I made quick work of her armor before she could recover from her shock. By the time she did, her armor was pretty much useless and she had a bunch of cuts all over herself, some deep and some just scratches. Finally recovering, she tried to go on the offensive, but she was in such a weak state I was able to parry her stab at my chest with ease. I used the disarming moving Luke taught me all those years ago and sent the drakon bone sword flying.

I felt a tugging sensation in my gut and water bursted out into the clearing and surrounded Annabeth. I slammed her into a tree forcing her limbs to stick to the surface. I was seething, who does Annabeth think she is? I heard the horn being blown and I knew my team won, but I didn't care at that moment. I capped Riptide and walked up to Annabeth, and if looks could kill, she would've already be dead.

"P-P-Percy, I didn't k-know what I was thinking. Please don't do this." pleaded the daughter of Athena.

I punched her right in the face, watching her head roll back with her check turning red from my punch. I was about to punch her again, until I was interrupted by a familiar voice, "Percy! What are you doing! The game is over."

I turned around to see a certain blonde haired son of Jupiter. "She was going to kill Hermione and no one harms my friends! You know that Jason." I retorted.

"Yes, but she's already surrendered. Look at her Percy, if you continue with this you're no better than her." he said.

I looked at Hermione laying on the floor, then to Annabeth who had her head slumped down, and finally at my hands. I realized Jason was right so I released Annabeth who fell to the floor with a thud. I walked up to her and kneeled down and whispered, "The little trust and respect I had left for you Annabeth is gone. Don't come near us again."

I got up and walked over to Hermione. I scooped her up bridal style and walked towards Jason.

"Thanks." I said barely loud enough for him to hear. I left him standing there and walked towards the infirmary carrying an unconscious witch. I layed her on a clean bed and called over for an Apollo kid.

"Some nectar and ambrosia seems like it will do, She doesn't have anything to bad, so in a day or two at most she will be released." informed the girl.

"No." I said. This caused the girl to look at me weirdly. I couldn't let Mione consume that or else she would die.

"Listen, I'm a daughter of Apollo, I think I know what will help her." stated the girl.

"I know, but I can't explain it. Can you just bring me a bucket of clean water, some towels, and gauze?" I asked.

"Fine, whatever you want, but I don't know why you're so stubborn and don't want to listen to me." said the girl walking away. She most likely didn't know who I was, but that didn't matter.

A couple minutes later the girl came back with what I asked and just looked at me for a couple of seconds before leaving to tend to other campers. I took one towel and soaked it in the water. I proceeded to wipe down the Hermione's injuries to clean her off. After getting her clean as much as possible as I could, I put the dirty towel with the basket of dirty towels. I then took another towel and soaked it in the remaining water. I used my water abilities and healed Mione's injuries as much as I could. All the cuts and gashes closed up, the small ones healing healing completely, but the deeper ones leaving faint marks. A couple of weeks and the marks will go away like it never happened.

"Percy!" yelled Jason as he walked into the infirmary. He walked over to me whispering, "What was all that about, you didn't have to injure Annabeth that badly."

"She almost killed Hermione! If I hadn't knocked her out, what was I supposed to do, yell stop?" I replied with sarcasm.

Jason winced from the tone of my voice and whispered, "Listen I know you're mad at her still. But this isn't you, holding grudges."

Before I could respond Jason had already left me alone. I sighed looking over at Hermione's resting figure. Jason was right. I just don't know what to do. I pulled up a chair next to Hermione's bed and waited.

~~Line Break~~

I was jolted awake by someone furiously shaking my shoulder.

"Huh?" I mumbled while rubbing my sleepy eyes. I looked around to see that I was still by Hermione's bed and the sun had risen. I turned to look at the person who woke me. It was no other than a red haired oracle.

"Percy it's time for breakfast. Come and eat." said Rachel.

"But-"

"I may not know her well, but she seems like a strong girl. All she needs is just rest and she'll be fine. I know she would want you to be fine also. And by sitting here worrying and starving yourself isn't going to help." said the oracle.

"I'm fine. I'm not hungry." as I said that my stomach rumbled.

Thai only caused Rachel to giggle and raise her eyebrow.

"Fine." I mumbled. I got up from my seat and stretched from sleeping in the uncomfortable position.

I bent over and kissed Hermione in the forehead. "I'll be back soon."

I followed Rachel out of the infirmary to the pavilion. We walked in silence, I could tell she wanted to leave me alone to gather my thoughts.

"Was I wrong?" I asked.

Rachel turned to look at me and said, "I can't say whether you were wrong in doing what you did, that is for you to decide, but I know the Percy I knew wouldn't have done something like that normally."

I nodded thinking over what she said.

"If I might say, I think you are under a lot of stress on this quest. Then add on seeing Annabeth again after the last time you saw her ended badly. Everyone has a breaking point Percy. I think you need a break. Hogwarts is on holiday break. Enjoy the one with Hermione. I know you just got back here, but go somewhere and enjoy the time." continued Rachel.

We walked in silence some more. I was processing what Rachel had said to me. The more I thought about it the more I realized she was right. Ever since I've accepted his quest, everything has been different.

"Thanks Rachel. That helped a lot." I said smiling at her.

She smiled back at me. We finally arrived at the pavilion and people were still piling in. I took a glance around the pavilion to see if Annabeth was here and she was. She had a bandage on her face from where I punched her and we met eyes. She stared for a split second before her face morphed into a frown before looking back down at her plate. I thought about walking over to say sorry, but Rachel stopped me.

"Percy, stop." She said in a stern voice, "you both need some time away from each other to cool down."

I looked at Rachel and decided to listen to her and went over to my table. I sat down quietly at the lonesome table. I guess I just wasn't use to be sitting alone again after all that time at the Gryffindor table. Chiron didn't have much announcements to say so the food came quickly. I went over to sacrifice my food to the gods before walking back to the Poseidon table. I stared at my food just pushing it around with my fork. I wasn't really in the mood to eat anymore. My hunger had went away after talking to Rachel.

After a bit I decided to leave the pavilion. I received some curious glances but no one stopped me thankfully. I walked back to the infirmary to check on Hermione and see how she was doing. When I got inside I could see movement on the bed I had put her on. She must have been starting to wake up so I rushed over to her side. I was met with her beautiful brown eyes and a wide smile.

"Hey Percy. How long was I out for and who was it that attacked me?" asked the girl.

"I'm glad you're up now Mione. How are you feeling? And we'll talk about your attacker later." I said sitting down in the seat I had slept in.

"Ok and I'm feeling much better. I think I just needed the rest. Whoever healed me did a great job!"

"Oh really? Well that was me that healed you. I used my control over water to clean and heal your wounds. Give it some time and the marks will fade away as well."

"Oh never mind then. The healing was horrible. I have never seen such a bad job." she said teasingly.

"Anyways are you hungry? I can go and get you some food." I offered.

"It's ok, I'm not hungry," said Hermione shifting into a sitting position, "here help me up please."

Getting out of my seat, "But you need to rest Mione."

"Percy. Help me now." said the witch sternly.

"Ok, ok don't hex me." I said grinning. I helped her up out of bed making sure to be careful where I put my hands on her. "Please be careful and don't do anything strenuous today." I begged.

"Oh using big words on me now, eh? Don't worry." replied Hermione.

"Haha very funny. Anyways where are we going?" I asked.

"I don't but I just don't want to stay in here any longer."

"What? The brightest witch of her age doesn't know something? Who are and what have you done with the real Hermione?" I said in mock surprise.

All I got in return was a harder than expected punch to my right arm.

"Let's go to the beach. It's relaxing over there."

"Of course mi'lady." I said with a mock bow. This caused Hermione to shake her head a my antics.

~~~Line Break~~~
Hermione and I sat by the shore, letting the waves touch our feet. Her head leaning on my shoulder, it felt perfect. It was a beautiful day outside today. I could see the naiads swimming about, some stopping to look at the pair of us, pointing and giggling. I could feel myself blush a little, I just hoped Mione didn't notice.
"It was Annabeth wasn't it?" said Mione, startling me.
"Uh…"
"I knew it."
"Listen, Mione I'm sorry for putting you in danger like that. I should've stayed behind with you to make sure you didn't get too badly hurt or anything. It was all my fault and when I got to you, I was furious with her. She was going to kill you!" I ranted, starting to get all worked up.
"Percy, please calm down. I know she was wrong in doing so, but I'm fine and it is in the past. If being with you has taught me anything, it was being forgiving and not to hold grudges."
"But Mio-"
"It's ok, I will go talk to her and if she tries anything she won't know what was coming at her this time."
I smiled at her response. "That's the Hermione I know and love."
Before I knew it, it was time for lunch. "Come on Mione, let's go get something in your stomach. You missed breakfast and refused to eat anything since waking up.
"I guess I'm pretty hungry now."
We walked over to the pavilion, and sat down at the Poseidon table. I don't think dad would mind that she was sitting here. Chiron smiled at us before starting lunch. Everyone went to sacrifice a portion of their food to the gods. Hermione and I went back to our table and started to eat. I could tell she was hungry due to her eating faster than usual, mind you which was still slow in my opinion.
Halfway into lunch Chiron came over with a warm smile, "How are you feeling Hermione?"
"A lot better sir." replied Hermione.
"Please, no need to call me sir. Also Percy, may I speak to you privately after lunch?"
I looked at Hermione and raised my eyebrow. She nodded and I turned back to Chiron who was waiting patiently. "Of course, but may I ask what for?"
"Just some camp business is all."
"Ok, I'll see you in a bit."
Chiron nodded at the two of us before trotting away back to the main table. I looked back at Hermione to a thoughtful expression.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing."
"I know something is bothering you."
"I just can't get it off my mind. Why would Annabeth want to kill me. Could she really be that jealous?"
"You don't have to go talk to her later"
"No, I need to."
Lunch was over and everyone started to clear out of the pavilion. We waited until everyone left.
"I guess I'll see you later. Be careful." I said.
"Don't worry I will." replied Hermione.
I gave her a hug and kiss on the forehead before leaving for the Big House. Hermione went off to find wherever the Athena cabin went.
I walked by other cabins doing whatever activities they were suppose to do after lunch. I always wondered what it was like to have a lot of other siblings to do such activities with. By the time I got to the Big House I could see Chiron sitting on the porch in his wheelchair. He seemed to be writing something.
I walked onto the porch, "Chiron?"
The teacher of heroes looks up, "Ah yes Percy, come we have much to talk about. Follow me."
I followed him inside where he ushered me to sit.
"What did you want to talk about?"
"I have some good and bad news. The good news is that Hephaestuswill be making the weapons for you so there is no need to raise suspicion here."
"That's awesome, but now what about the bad news?"
"Hecate has alerted me of some troubling news."
"What? Is Harry or anyone in trouble?" I asked frantically.
"No, not now but all of Hogwarts might. She has told me she sensed something deeply troubling about Voldemort. He has gained some powerful allies. Who exactly, she is not able to tell. When you get back, the first thing you need to do is speak with Albus. Alert him of this news, everything needs to be carefully watched even more. Put up more wards, everything."
I sat in silence thinking over what Chiron just said. What allies could have Voldermort possibly have gained. I looked at my hands to see them shaking slightly. Hogwarts has become another home for me and I would be devastated if anyone I cared about got hurt.
"Percy I know this is troubling news, but don't tell anyone unless you trust them completely that they won't spread the news. It would be chaos if everyone were to panic. People already are denying that Voldemort has come back. Hearing this will make situations worse."
I nodded, understanding exactly what he was saying.
"Percy look at me."
I looked up at him and we made eye contact,
"Percy I am sorry the Fates have been so cruel to you. I have watched you grow into quite the hero since you first got here. I know you have lost a lot in your life. I know exactly what you're thinking right now. You're only one person, you can't save everybody. However I do know you will succeed in helping defeat Voldemort while saving as many people as possible."
Chiron was right. I can't save everybody, but I can definitely try to make sure as many people are prepared as possible to survive the upcoming war.
"Thank you Chiron. I needed that." I said with a her before I left following Chiron out of the Big House.
"I will save as many people as I can even if it means I'll die." I whispered, walking away.
Hermione
I followed the mob of blonde hair and grey eyed demigods. They stopped at the lava wall. I stood back and watched as Annabeth instructed her siblings. I watched for a little while and when one of the younger ones fell, Annabeth was immediately there. She seemed genuinely worried for her half-sibling. I started walking toward the children of Athena to talk to Annabeth. However, after she finished checking on her brother, she looked up and saw me walking toward her. Annabeth looked at me in surprise then regret before deciding to walk over to me.
We met halfway.
"Hi Hermione… I know why you're here. You're probably pissed at me for trying to kill you and you deserve every reason to be. I don't know what caused me to do that. I guess it was my hubris and jealousy. I was just mad to see him with someone else… I should've known he wouldn't be too happy with me, considering the way we ended things…." trailed off the blonde girl.
I just stared at her. I did not expect an apology from her at all. Although she tried to kill me, I can tell she is really a good person.
After 5 minutes of my silent gaze, she started fidgeting. Most likely the ADHD. Sighing, "I forgive you Annabeth. I can tell you are a good person at heart. Everyone breaks and does something unrational. Don't think you are off the hook though, because you did almost kill me."
As much as I wanted to yell at her, I also wanted to be the bigger person.
A small smile appeared on Annabeth's mouth. "Thank you for understanding. Whatever I can do to make it up to you."
"Just promise you'll never do it again."
"You have my word."
I smiled and stook out my hand to which she shook in return.
"Hermione, I have a question for you."
"Hmm?"
"What was that thing you did before you decided to take out your kukri and fight me?"
"It was nothing. I'm a clear sighted mortal, but Hecate blessed me. Since she blessed me though, I can be injured by celestial bronze, imperial gold, and Stygian iron." I lied.
"I see." she said analyzing my response.
Annabeth was then called by one of her siblings to come back. "Well I guess I'll see you sometime."
I nodded.
She turned around and was about to walk away before I stopped her, "Listen Annabeth, Percy might not be as forgiving as I was. He's not same when he left."
"I understand." She then proceeded to walk back to her siblings.
I went on my own path as well, thinking what I should do in the meantime while Percy was meeting with Chiron. Perhaps practice with my kukri. I headed towards the arena where I could hear a mix of talking and clashing of metal inside. The talking however didn't sound like anything related to fighting. When I walked inside I saw Piper and some other campers sparring. The Aphrodite cabin. Figures. I did learn Percy that since Piper became the counselor for the Aphrodite cabin, they've been participating more active. I watched for a while, awed by Piper and how she fought so elegantly and gracefully yet deadly and powerful. No wonder she was one of the Seven.
Ten minutes later Piper called for everyone to take a break. She finally noticed me and grinned waving me over.
"Need something?" asked the daughter of Aphrodite.
"I had just come here to practice while Percy was talking with Chiron. I was unaware that a cabin would be using it now."
"It's cool. Why don't we spar? I'd like to see his tough you are."
"Why not."
She gave me some armor and I put it on. We walked away from each other before getting ready. Piper unsheathed her dagger Katropis, a beautiful dagger. I unsheathed my weapon, taking out my new kukri. I think I should name it eventually.
"Eh? Nice weapon you got there. Do you know what you're doing?"
I shook my head to which Piper laughed. Next thing I saw was a pair of kaleidoscope eyes charging at me faster than I expected.
She took a swing at my exposed right ribcage with the flat of her blade. I jumped back, dodging the blade causing her to smile. I charged at her, deciding to go for the offensive. I took wild swing at her, which she blocked with ease. Every time she dodged, she would smack my hand with the flat of her blade. This was beyond frustrating. I backed off and put some distance between the two of us. I tried to think of a plan to beat her somehow. However, I wasn't given any time as she once again charged at me. I met her charge and our daggers clashed, making the familiar sound I was sued to by now. Piper put more pressure on her blade making me struggle from the pressure. Seeing that her stomach was wide open, I kicked her, buying me some time.
"Nice one there. Wasn't expecting that from you." she said smiling.
However, this compliment did not stop her advance. She swung in a diagonal arc to which I met with my kukri. I did not expect that much force from a girl that didn't appear built. There was hidden power behind that lean build of her. Piper put more force down on her blade, allowing a grunt to escape from my lips. The force of Katropis started to push me back. I twisted my kukri to move away from her blade and push it to the side and sent a punch with my left arm. Piper caught my hand easily and twisted it causing pain in my wrist. She put my hand left arm behind my back and put her blade to my neck.
"Yield?"
"I yield."
"This your first time sparring?"
"You could say that." I said rubbing my wrist.
"Sorry about that."
"No worries. Nothing too serious."
"I'm impressed with your fighting. I know what you're thinking, that you're probably bad at this. I was like you too but you just need to practice. I can tell you're a smart girl and that you don't give up on things easily."
"Thanks" I replied, smiling.
"I can tell we will become great friends." said Piper, matching my smile.
Percy
"Where could she be?" I muttered looking all over camp for the brightest witch of her age.
Lost in thought I bumped into a mess of blonde hair.
"Sor-" I stopped as soon as I saw who it was.
"I didn't see you there. But I need to talk to you. Listen just hear me out."
"And why should I? After all you've done?"
"I'm probably the least person you want to talk to right now. But I just want to make things right between us."
"I don't know…"
"Please Percy. I know what I was doing to you was wrong. I know it was wrong for me to use you and to lead you on. My pride would never let me admit such a thing. You know that better than anyone. Now after these months since you've been gone, I had time to think. I knew that I had to fix things with you. When I saw you with Hermione I just got jealous. I know I overreacted and stepped over boundaries I shouldn't have caused. I'm not asking to be friends again unless you want to, I just want you to forgive me and not hate me. I would feel better knowing this. I've already apologized to Hermione just before."
"And what did she say?"
"She didn't fully forgive me but she was understanding."
"Well, Annabeth, I will forgive you for everything. However, if things were to go back to what they were, it will take a long time. We'll have to work things out sometime, but I guess I'll see."
A small grateful smile appeared on the daughter of Athena's face.
"Thank you."
"Mhmm. We still have a lot to work on."
"Of course."
"Anyways, you said you just spoke to Mione, do you know where she is?"
"She walked in the direction of the arena. She might have gone there to practice."
"Thanks Annabeth and you know, it was good talking to you again I guess."
"Same here Perce."
"I'll see you around." I said before turning towards the arena and walking there.
When I arrived I saw Mione and Piper sparring as the rest of the Aphrodite cabin watched.
The match ended with Piper twisting Mione's arm behind her back and holding Katropis to her neck.
"Yield?" asked the kaleidoscope eyed girl.
"I yield." replied the witch.
"This your first time sparring?"
"You could say that." Hermione said rubbing her wrist.
"Sorry about that."
"No worries. Nothing too serious."
"I'm impressed with your fighting. I know what you're thinking, that you're probably bad at this. I was like you too but you just need to practice. I can tell you're a smart girl and that you don't give up on things easily."
"Thanks" Mione replied with a smile.
"I can tell we will become great friends." said Piper, matching her smile.
"Don't try to steal my girlfriend now Piper or I'll have to fight you." I said.
"Although you're definitely a better fighter than me, I just might have to take you up in that offer. You got yourself quite a pretty girlfriend here." said Piper.
Hermione turned red like a tomato I started to laugh loudly.
"Geez Pipes, didn't know you had those kind of jokes on you? What happened while I was gone?" I said.
"Look at her Perce! She bright red!" laughed the daughter of Aphrodite.
"Guys!"
"Sorry Mione."
"Sorry."
"Anyways keep on practicing and you'll get better in no time Mione, but please remember to carry your vambrace with you. It'll definitely help you in battle. Perhaps I can get the vambrace emanated to be a bracelet. Maybe the kukri too." I said.
"That would definitely be more convenient."
"Well we are going to leave now. Our scheduled time is pretty much over, so we are going to just leave now. See you love birds later." said Piper.
"Bye Piper."
"Later Pipes."
We watched the Aphrodite cabin rule out of the arena all saying bye and we returned the farewells.
"Now what?" I asked.
"Who knows?"
