Chapter 5: A Day at Kennywood Park
The next day, I met up with Sarah, James, and Henri, as well as some of my other best friends Alex Russo, Justin Evans, and Max Greenwald at Kennywood Park. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. I ended up riding the Sky Rocket with Alex, the Phantom's Revenge with Justin, the Jack Rabbit with James, and the Racer with Sarah. Other rides that we rode included the Pittsburgh Plung, the Whip, the Swingshot, the Wave Swinger, the Musik Express, the Cosmic Chaos, and the Aero 360. A group of "Fab Five" girls from MSG Academy in McCandless also met us at Kennywood as we all got lunch. Their names were Kathleen, Andrea, Elizabeth, Kimberly, and Allison who were going to be sophomores in college. "Who are these people, Max?" Henri asked. "You probably weren't at Open Mic Night back in February, Henri," Max explained. "2 of these girls performed with us." Kathleen used to play the alto saxophone, Andrea used to play the trumpet, Elizabeth used to play the clarinet, Kimberly used to play the flute, and Allison used to play the drums and percussion. "I remember when James sang 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer' with me at the Christmas party last year," Justin stated. "Yes, and Justin is a very good trumpet player," James pointed out. "Thank you," Justin replied. "Kimberly, it seems like you have a lot in common with Alex," Sarah pointed out. "Sarah, you remember these girls from Open Mic Night, right?" Alex asked. "Oh, right," Sarah remembered. "We saw the dress rehearsal. I don't know why Henri just said we didn't." "Every 9 years, a new MSG Academy school opens, beginning with Freeport in 2001, then McCandless in 2010, and most recently, Turtle Creek just last year," I told my friends. "We used to live in Freeport, as well, but we went to the public school district," Sarah explained. "I'm sure that you guys went to the public school district at first, and then went to the MSG Academy school during your preteen and teenage years." "I came to the Pittsburgh area when I was 14 years old," Alex stated. "My mom enrolled me and my best friends at MSG Academy in Freeport, because we all had such a great passion for music." "So, what all do you like to do for fun other than go to Kennywood?" Kimberly asked. "We like to go out for dinner in nice places like Station Square, like Sarah took me to once for my birthday while James was on his scholarship interview with Carnegie Mellon University," I explained. "We even split a giant ice cream sundae together." "Cool," Elizabeth remarked. "But, my favorite time that I have been to Kennywood was just before I left for Edinboro University and we all got a group photo together, and then Alex and Justin shared a kiss in line." After our day at Kennywood was over, Sarah, James, and Henri drove me back to their apartment in Penn Hills. "Thanks for a great day, guys!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
