As they neared the end of the hall she could hear raised voices, arguing. Her eyes scrunched up in dismay. Vidic was in a bad mood already. If her legs would have handled the strain, she would have dug her heels in a last-ditch effort to delay being dragged to the inevitable punishment that Vidic was sure to administer upon discovering her latest thwarted escape attempt.
