Ring...Ring... Ring.
Caroline sighed as she waited for Elena to pick up the call.
"Hey Lena, it's Care, I was won-
"Hey Caroline. Can I call you back?
"Yeah, but Lena can I just tell you something. We haven't hung out and with all this Original drama I need some girl time. And I know you have all that Salvatore drama, but it's really important to have some time for us you know. And-"
"Care I understand, I do but-"
"No. No buts! We are having a Girls Night! Me, you, and Bon. I am not taking no for an answer so pick a day."
"Come on Caro-
"No. Now I understand if you can't this week, but-"
Elena laughs before sighing, "Alright. Okay I we'll discuss it in school, Monday. You're right Care."
"Of course, I am! Kay we can meet at mine. We can order munchies and pizza and I'll drop by the hospital for some blood bags. You can bring booze just swipe a bottle or two from Stef and Damon."
"Sounds like a plan."
"Great. I'll let you go deal with whatever. Bye Lena, love you."
'Love you too, Care."
Caroline made her way to the couch and laid down. She had already texted Bonnie who agreed to the girl's night promising to bring her karaoke machine. Caroline already going through all the duets she and Bonnie could do together. Bonnie was an amazing singer and it was always fun to mess around with different songs.
Caroline sighed turning on the T.V. all her homework was finished at school as usual. It was Saturday she could probably go over the details for the decade dance but knowing Rebekah she would probably fight her on every detail and just think about it was stressing her out.
She couldn't call Ty because he was off trying to break the stupid Sire bond. Her mom had work like always. Stef was with Lena. Bon was looking up magic stuff with Jer which she was sure was code for making out or whatever. Matty was working. Dam- nope not going there no matter how alone or bored she was. She was not desperate for attention Caroline anymore. She was strong and… she needed some new friends.
She needed to find something new to watch. Something with hot guys or some stupid reality drama. The Bachelor popped up in her head along with Survivor but then she saw a young Ryan Gosling! Without looking at the description she pressed play and made her way to the fridge to get a blood bag before the show.
It was late 90's and focused on Greek gods and apparently shirts were optional yum. Caroline let out a giggle. The show wasn't that bad it wasn't something she would normally watch, but it's not like she had anything better to do.
Caroline was halfway through the series. The best friend of Gosling's character was a prince who was being forced into an arrange marriage, so the prince and his friends got one of their female friends to pretend to be the prince's wife even though she was a total tom boy. The makeover was funny although she didn't like how the girl's hair was styled. Hmm of course the princess was in love with a member of her staff.
Wait!
Caroline went back a few minutes before pausing the show. There was something weird about-
"No way! Oh my gosh." Caroline started laughing before pressing play again and pulling out her phone.
Caroline paced back and forth in front of the Mikaleson Manor unsure if she should knock or not. To hell with it.
Knock. Knock.
Caroline let out a deep breath as saw the door open.
"Well, well, well. What are you doing here darling?" Kol Mikaleson said practically leering causing her to glare.
"I'm here for your brother. Is-"
"Nik? Really, I am so disappointed. You know I am actually the fun brother, and so much better looking too are you sure you don't-"
"Leave the poor girl alone Kol!" Rebekah said shoving her brother out of the way.
"Oh, it's you. What do you want?" She said giving Caroline a once over.
"She's here for Nik! Nik your baby vamp is here!"
"Actually, I'm not-"
Caroline was cut off by Klaus zooming in front of her.
"Caroline."
Tired of being interrupted she just decided to blurt out what she wanted to say, "Look, hi but ugh! I'm here for Elijah! Is he here?"
The silence was just starting to become uncomfortable when Kol started laughing and then Rebekah started throwing her death glares again. Klaus looked like someone just kicked his puppy well no he probably looked like the person who owned the puppy he kicked.
"Elijah?" Klaus questioned softly unsure if he heard her correctly.
Caroline nodded not sure what to say.
"See! I told you she was a skank! No better than the doppelganger slut! Listen here Forbes whatever game you're playing leave my damn brothers out o-" "REBEKAH!" "-f it."
"Nik-"
"Go fetch Elijah."
Rebekah glared at Caroline one more time before sneering and making her way inside.
"Kol go with her."
"But I didn't do anything!"
"Kol. Inside."
Kol shook his head and started making his way inside. "With the way you treat us you would think we were mutts instead of you."
Before Klaus could respond Kol flashed out of there.
Caroline shifted from one foot to the other. "Maybe I should go?"
"Elijah will be here soon Rebekah is talking to him now."
"It's just… It's stupid. I was bored so I started watching… but then I saw Elijah and well… It probably wasn't even… but… You know what I am sorry for wasting your time you can just-"
Caroline's mouth shut when she saw Elijah appear behind his brother.
"Hello Ms. Forbes. What do you need?"
Caroline gawked at him before blushing furiously and looking away.
Elijah looked intrigued and turned to his brother who was scowling at the blonde's actions.
"Ms. Forbes?"
"I. I. Could I maybe. Sorry it's just you umm… I. Could we maybe talk in private? I'm already making a fool of myself in front of your siblings I don't want to be more humiliated if you disagree…"
Elijah's eyes widened for a second before sparing his brother another glance and saw his brother glaring daggers at him. Swallowing nervously knowing that if it was what it looked like his brother would surely stick him in a coffin out of spite. He would have to make his intentions clear now.
"Ms. Forbes I am flattered, and I apologize, but whatever you plan on asking I must decline. You are a lovely-" He paused at his brothers growl. "-girl but…"
Caroline's eyes widen and she gasps taking a step back and glaring at the dark haired original.
"I don't like you! I mean not like that. I am sure you're a great guy and all, but you're not really my type and even if you were you are an Original and I know well enough to stay away."
Klaus smiled in relief at her babble and Elijah let out a soft chuckle.
"My apologies for assuming. What can I help you with?"
Caroline laughed knowing that the tension somewhat lessened.
"Okay so I was at home and started watching some old show well not old at least not to you considering your all thousand years old but anyway… Did you ever ac-"
"Yes.", Elijah said hurriedly interrupting her.
"You didn't let me finish?"
"Yes, but I knew what you were going to ask."
"So, it was you. You-"
"Yes. Yes, now I would appreciate if you never spoke of it."
"What? Why?"
Klaus looked between both vampires unsure of what they were talking about.
"Yes, brother why? What exactly are you hiding?"
"Nothing that concerns you brother."
Caroline understanding let out a huge smile. "Oh my gosh! They don't know do they?"
"Know what?"
Elijah shook his head pleadingly at the young baby vamp. There were many things he could overcome but his brother's mockery would not be one of those things if he could help it.
"Nothing that concerns you brother."
"Perhaps, but I don't care. Come on in Caroline apparently, we have much to discuss.
That is how Caroline found herself in the living room with four Originals looking at her. Caroline was sitting by herself in a small loveseat facing Klaus who was in an armchair. Elijah was off to the side getting a drink from one of the carts. Kol and Rebekah were on the couch next to her. Rebekah sitting straight reclining by the arm of the couch while Kol was on the other his feet raised up on her lap which she stubbornly pushed off her glaring at him to put his feet on her again. He stuck out his tongue than turned back to look at the blonde baby vampire who still hadn't said anything.
"Well come on! What's the big secret? I mean if you're not here to bang Elijah in a salacious affair behind Nik's back. Just spit it out the suspense is irritating."
Klaus growled but restrained from rising and throwing his brother across the room in front of Caroline.
Elijah coughed and walked to the couch settling between Kol and Rebekah handing his sister a glass and taking a quick drink of his own.
"Ms. Forbes. I would appreciate if you didn't give in to my brothers' impertinence."
"I don't really think it's that big of deal. I was impressed. It looked fun and no offense but you're always so serious that its unexpected not horrible. I mean all of you have lived for centuries and done horrible things you should probably be ashamed of, although I doubt you are, but this is nothing in comparison."
Elijah sighed nodding and taking a slow sip of his drink.
"It's the principle of the matter."
Klaus sighed, "Come on 'Lijah I'm appalled to say, but I agree with Kol. Just spit it out."
"I'd rather admit to a salacious affair brother."
Klaus growled rising to his feet while Kol let out a laugh.
"And I thought today was going to be boring."
"Shut it, Kol." Both Elijah and Klaus snapped. Klaus moved over to Caroline's loveseat sitting down next to her quite closely.
"Tell me, love. You are obviously not having an affair with Elijah… right?" He said shyly asking for confirmation.
Caroline blushed and bit her lip trying to keep a laugh from escaping. "I am not having sexual relations with Elijah." Caroline let out before laughing followed by a snort by Rebekah and small smiles from her brothers.
"Well thank you for clearing that up, sweetheart."
Caroline gave a quick I'm sorry glance to Elijah before turning back to Klaus.
"Look I just came for confirmation and maybe to talk to Elijah about his experience because well it's something I'm interested in and Elijah apparently has connections. It's nothing bad or nefarious or whatever."
"And what experience does my brother have that you're interested in, Caroline?" Rebekah asked curious and annoyed that this conversation was still dragging.
Caroline was about to respond, but Elijah quickly retorted, "Caroline how would you like to meet Iolaus. Surprisingly I might still have his number somewhere."
Caroline blinked before realizing what Elijah was offering. Before suddenly smirking.
"Hmm… I don't think so. Although if you can get Herc than we can come to an arrangement."
Elijah gaped at the blonde. "Are you threatening me, Ms. Forbes?"
Caroline leaned closer to Klaus and gave her best Miss Mystic smile. "Of course, not although I would need some incentive for my silence."
Klaus let out a laugh realizing what was going on. He was liking his beautiful blonde baby vamp more watching her make Elijah squirm.
"I could rip out your heart without batting an eye."
Klaus quickly stood in front of her. "If you touch her."
Caroline stood as well grabbing Klaus' arm. "It's alright Klaus. Besides I still haven't heard an incentive."
Klaus turned to his siblings smirking and casually put his around Caroline's waist happy when Caroline didn't move or let go of his arm.
Kol seemed amused and Rebekah looked bored but was secretly impressed that the baby vamp was standing up to her brother.
"Fine."
"You agree?" Caroline said confirming first and restraining herself.
"Out of duress."
"I'll take it!" Caroline said squealing and hugging Klaus before realizing what she was doing and taking a step out of his reach and calming herself down.
"Sorry. Thank you, Elijah."
Elijah nodded annoyed before moving to Klaus' armchair and sitting down.
"WAIT!" Kol yelled clearly not pleased with the new turn of events. "You can't just do that. Nik make her tell us."
Klaus nodded. "Caroline sweetheart whatever Elijah has promised. I am sure I can give you anything it is you desire."
Caroline blushed but shook her head. "I made a deal with Elijah and unless he fails to keep up his end… Sorry."
Rebekah growled, "Technically you agreed to come to an arrangement no actual terms have been discussed."
Rising Rebekah made her way towards Caroline and grabbed her by the shoulders looking into her eyes.
"What do you have over Elijah?"
"REBEKAH!"
"Let's just get this over with! Elijah it will come out eventually just tell us damn it!"
Caroline sighed and turned to Elijah. "I'm on vervain and I want to leave. Would it be alright to come discuss terms at another time?"
"Yes. Of course, I will let you know."
Before anyone could say anything, else Caroline flashed out of there.
A couple of days later Caroline was meeting Elijah at The Grill to discuss terms. Kol and Klaus were spying on the pair hiding behind the bar.
"Umm you're both not allowed to be back here."
"Ah if it isn't Bekah's busboy."
"Kol shut it. Look Mathew we're here spying on our brother and Caroline now you are going to let us stay here and we will give you what would probably be the best tip of your life. Or you can continue bothering us and I will let Kol here compel you and then take you for a drink. Now what do you say."
Matt sighed before turning in the direction where Caroline was talking to Elijah and nodded. "Fine just stay out of my way."
"You will not even know we're here."
Matt frowned before walking off to refill someone's drink.
"...will be in LA in a few weeks enough time for me to take you to meet him."
Moments earlier...
"Can I ask you what even made you even consider acting?"
"It interested me but mostly I needed something to do. Niklaus and I had gotten into one of our usual skirmishes and I left."
"Okay, but that doesn't explain how you ended up on the show. You obviously had to audition… You did audition right, or did you compel someone?"
"I did not compel anyone. It was a small role and I had met a member of the cast who intrigued me. She told me she could get me an audition thought I would be good for it."
"Who did you meet?"
"A Miss Desmond."
"Desmond… Right she was Discord, wasn't she?"
"Indeed."
"Okay. Have you acted in anything else? I tried googling you. Well your alias 'Daniel' and I couldn't find anything."
"That was the point. I needed to keep a low profile. I avoided the cameras and any questions involving previous works I just compelled people to ignore."
"So, no other acting gigs then?"
Elijah smiled, "No other gigs. After shooting the episode I burned the alias and compelled the cast and crew to forget about me. Niklaus had come into town finally having been calmed from his tantrum and I had to get out of there before he could question what I had been doing for those few months that I was there."
"Wait if you compelled them to forget how exactly are you going to keep your end of the deal?"
"No need to worry. I've done some research he will be in LA in a few weeks enough time for me to take you to meet him."
"Alright. Thank you. Could I ask you a question? It's just I don't get why you don't want to tell your family. I mean sure Klaus and Kol will probably make some rude joke, but why not confide in Rebekah?"
"I will end up telling them eventually. However, I will do it on my terms."
"Meaning you are waiting till you get some sort of leverage on your siblings to balance out what they would have on you."
"Exactly."
Caroline was about to comment on the sibling's relationship when her phone beeped. It was a text from Matt asking her what she was doing with Elijah and warning her about Klaus and Kol hiding behind the bar.
Slowly sliding her phone on the table, she let Elijah read the message before standing.
"Thank you, again Elijah but I should be heading out."
Elijah cleared his throat and nodded rising. "Let me give you a ride back. I insist."
Caroline nodded and took his offered arm as they made their way to the door.
"Care?"
Caroline turned to see Elena and Stefan looking at her curiously wondering why she was with the original.
"Hey Lena. Stef."
"What are you doing here Care? Matt sent a weird text…"
"I'm fine!" Care said cutting her friend of before nodding to Elijah, "I was just talking to Elijah. Right."
"Hello Elena. Ms. Fo-Caroline and I were discussing an agreement."
"What kind of agreement?"
"Nothing dangerous. In exchange for Ms. Caroline's silence I will be taking her to Los Angeles for the weekend."
"Silence about what. Care whatever it is if he is threatening you-"
"It's nothing like that Stefan. I swear this has nothing to do with Original drama. Or trying to kill each other or white oak stakes or anything supernatural. It's just a small favor."
"Yes, but Caroline you can't really be serious. You're going to LA alone. With Elijah."
"I assure you I have no ill intentions towards Caroline. No harm will come to her on our trip."
Stefan nodded still not sure if he trusted the Original with his friend.
"Okay well we are going to go order. Call us if you need anything."
Caroline nodded as they left heading towards a booth and her and Elijah made their way to his car."
The minute Elijah and Caroline left Kol and Klaus jumped over the bar and settled on some bar stools.
"Sounds like Elijah may be moving in on your girl Nik."
"Caroline is far too brilliant to fall for Elijah."
"If you say so. So, I'm guessing we are stalking the duo on their trip to the city of angels."
"Yup." Noticing the Salvatore and his doppelganger walking towards him. "Hello Rippah."
"What does Elijah have over Caroline, Klaus?"
"It's the other way around mate. Your precious little barbie doll managed to find dirt on 'Lijah we are just trying to find out what it could be." Kol said butting in.
"What could Caroline possibly have on Elijah?"
"If we knew we wouldn't be here now would we. Now apparently, we have a flight to arrange. Good day."
At the boarding house.
"So, your telling me that Blondie has something over Elijah that he is taking her to LA for the weekend. Something his siblings don't know, and you think she might be in danger."
"Elijah said he would protect her, but Klaus and Kol are both going to spy on them. I say we go to make sure they don't do anything to hurt Caroline."
"No. We have enough problems as it is, Elena. If Blondie wants to get involved with the originals so be it. Besides If she manages to get three originals out of town that would give us time to find a white oak stake or some spell for BonBon to get rid of them."
"But Damon-"
"Look what if I go. I'll make sure Caroline is okay and you, Damon, and Bonnie come up with a new plan to defeat the originals."
"Fine."
A week later LA, Elijah and Caroline are in a car heading to their hotel. Klaus and Kol in a car tailing them with Stefan tailing them.
"So, were meeting him in the hotel?"
"Yes. I send someone to pick him up. He is undercover and both he and the vampire I sent will be compelled by me once we are done to forget about us."
Caroline nodded. "Okay I just want to say hello and maybe take a few pictures. What about after? Are we just going to leave?"
"We will be spending the night and leaving tomorrow afternoon."
"Okay, but what will we do till then. I mean I don't want to waste his time and I'm sure people will notice he is missing if he is gone for long, so I planned to talk to him for an hour or so but what about after. We have an entire day."
"There are plenty of activities in the hotel."
"Oh alright." Caroline said disappointed before turning to look out the window.
Noticing her change in attitude, "Was there any particular thing you wanted to do or place you wanted to go?"
Instantly brightening Caroline nodded.
"Yes, but I can go alone. Your only part of the deal was to introduce me. I guess after that I can probably remain on my own till we head back to Virginia tomorrow."
"I will accompany you."
"Elijah it's alright. You don't want to be here. I practically blackmailed you into this; there's no need for you to do that."
"I told Elena I would make sure no harm would come to you. Wherever you want to go I'll go as well."
Caroline nodded again feeling guilty for having to drag the noble original along.
"What would you like to do?"
"Excuse me?"
"Well there must be a place you would like to go. I have everything planned out, but I can change a few things. There's no reason why we both can't have a good time together."
"I'll think about it. We will be staying at the Waldorf there are plenty of restaurants and boutiques nearby as well as some tourist sights."
"So, what exactly are we going to do? We can't exactly follow them up to their suite without them noticing."
Klaus ignored his brother as he sped up. They were currently in the middle lane on the expressway and some arse was trying to ride his behind. He hated LA traffic. He tried to accelerate to pass a slow rider on his right so he could move to the exit lane when the asshole in the red Camaro with black racing stripes behind him passed him accelerated and then switched into his lane without putting his blasted blinker. Klaus barely managed to slow down enough not to ram into him. That didn't stop him from muttering profanities in six different languages under his breath.
"Well?"
"I don't know Kol! They will hopefully not be there for the entirety of the trip; you will stay behind and look through their things while I trail them."
"Why do I have to stay behind?"
"Because one of us has to and I'm older so suck it."
Kol glared rolling his eyes. At least it wasn't a stupid organ removal threat, but seriously the 'I'm the older sibling card' sucked and should have stopped being relevant nine hundred years ago. They always pulled that on him. "No Kol you can't go hunting with Finn, 'Lijah and I." "No Kol you can't sword fight with us go play with Bekah and Henrik."
Stefan glared at Klaus' silver Aston Martin he drove like well he drove like an old man and no one actually drives the speed limit on the highway! He quickly cut him off with his Camaro picturing Klaus' reaction. He had asked Caroline to let him know where she was staying and give him regular updates, so he no longer had to stay behind the Mikaelson brothers.
Caroline could not believe that Elijah not only knew Gosling but set up a meet. She kept looking at the pictures she took she had brought her polaroid so that she could have some physical pictures along with the ones on her phone which she already uploaded to the cloud and e-mailed to herself so she would always have them.
She was now trying to pick out an outfit. She had narrowed it down to either a cute dark blue with small white polka dot dress, and black ballet style flats. Or her green dress with pink and purple flowers with brown wedges.
She was contemplating texting Bonnie when she heard Elijah knock on her door. She opened her door and motioned her head for him to enter. Elijah hesitated at the door for a second before walking in.
"I have called ahead to reserve a table for dinner. It will be at seven but if you're hungry we can pick up some street food on the way to the boutiques."
"Street food. Wow Elijah don't get to crazy." She said jokingly but at his expression shook her head. "Never mind that sounds great. Are you sure you want to come with me shopping most guys wouldn't?"
"I have been shopping with Rebekah I don't mind. I might go on my own for a bit to pick up something for myself."
"Uh yeah, yeah that's great. I just need a minute to change."
She saw Elijah eyeing the green and picked it up. He nodded then moved to exit.
Caroline waited in the Lobby for Elijah to finish talking to the front desk who would be getting them a car from the hotel to drive them for the day. She should probably call Stefan.
Stefan looked at Caroline from a distance as he answered his phone.
"Hello."
"Hey Stef."
"Hey Care. How's it going? Are you at the hotel? Is Elijah treating you good?"
Caroline smiled at his questions she liked how Stefan always checked in to make sure she was okay.
"I am amazing. The hotel is awesome, but we are leaving to go shopping in a bit just waiting for a car. Elijah has been a perfect gentleman throughout the trip and has promised to accompany me to make sure I'm okay. Everything is fine."
"Alright well if something happens just call and I'll be on the first plane over there."
"You don't need to do that. We are leaving tomorrow and were just planning on going shopping. Then getting dinner afterwards I think I'll just play it safe and stay at the hotel. I kinda wish you guys were here. We could go to the beach make a day of it."
"I'm sure we will go one day."
"Yeah, we can probably live here for a few decades."
"We'll see. You can still go to the beach tonight."
"I don't think Elijah is the beach type. Besides I have a bathing suit the hotel has a pool I'll just go there. It's not the same, but I'm not gonna complain. This has been my first trip out of the state and I'm going to enjoy it. Oh, speaking of Elijah I think he's got the car ready. Bye."
Stefan watched as Caroline and Elijah were making their way out of the hotel. He would give them a few minutes before going after them.
"Well, well, well, what are you doing here mate."
Stefan turned quickly to see Klaus looking at him his arms crossed.
"Klaus. Where's Kol?"
"At the moment probably breaking into Lijah's suite, but that's not important. You came to protect the lovely Caroline didn't you."
"Can you blame me, when you are obviously here doing the same? Or maybe you're jealous that Elijah is the one showing Caroline around instead of you. Her first taste of the world with your brother by her side. That has got to hurt."
Klaus growled crushing the vampire into the wall behind him one hand on his chest the other on his windpipe.
"The only reason you are not dead is because of her. Now where are they going, I'm sure she has told you."
"They're going shopping. I don't know where, but I can track her phone."
Releasing him, Klaus nodded and made his way towards the entrance, "Well, come on then.".
Stefan quickly fell in step with his former friend as they made their way to his car.
"Nice car."
Klaus looked at him suspiciously before getting inside watching Stefan walk around the car and get in the passenger side.
Caroline smiled as she sat on the chair Elijah had pulled out for her. Shopping went really well she found a new pair of sneakers, which considering all the vamp running she has been using lately are really needed, as well as good pair of hiking boots, for when she is of in the woods with Stefan, two new jeans, and a few pair of blouses.
"Thank you, Elijah."
The Original nodded and made his way to his seat.
"Is there anywhere else you would like to go to before we head back to the hotel?"
"Did you find everything you needed?"
"Yes."
"Okay, then. Do you know where I can pick up any souvenirs? Shot glasses, key chains, bracelets...Maybe near the beach? It's still light for a bit we can go really quick."
"Okay. If you want to enjoy the beach we could go tomorrow before our flight if you want."
"Thanks, but I think it's better if we just go straight to airport."
Elijah nodded, "I picked out a red, I hope that's alright."
The blonde smiled and nodded handing her glass over to the waiter.
"Its fine." She felt weird with all the politeness and seriousness and her smile was becoming a bit tense. "How are your siblings? Are they still questioning you on your deep dark secret?"
"Rebekah surprisingly gave up fairly quickly. Kol and Niklaus are another matter."
"So, what exactly do you expect to find out?"
Klaus turned to Stefan; they were a few tables away being covered by an obscenely large plant.
"I don't know what you mean."
"With Elijah and Caroline."
"There is nothing going on with Elijah or Caroline. Just look at them."
Stefan turned to look at his friend and the dark haired original the situation seemed tense.
"What am I supposed to be seeing?"
"Elijah ordered red when Caroline obviously would have liked a white. I myself would have just gone with champagne it's our thing. Caroline ordered a salad. What kind of self-respecting vampire orders a salad and Elijah didn't even do anything about it. I would have ordered her the same thing I ordered you but change the brussels for asparagus and mash to steak fries."
Klaus ranted looking at his friend like it was the most obvious thing on the planet.
Stefan rolled his eyes and shook his head the steak was pretty good he wouldn't argue with that.
"Yeah well, I know, Caroline fairly well and she values choice I don't think she would like you ordering everything for her. Also, maybe you could move a little the waiter is giving us weird looks, thanks for that by the way."
"I know Caroline does value that however in this matter I would disagree, and I couldn't care less what the staff would like this gives me the perfect angle to look at them."
Stefan sighed moving his chair a bit away from the original cutting another piece of steak and dipping it in his mash potatoes causing Klaus to grimace.
"You know she will never date you. She may not hate you we both can see that despite what you have done Caroline sees something human in you. In me too she sees past our darkness. However besides maybe friendship she will never care for you she loves Tyler and even if she were to fall out of love, she won't immediately go running for you. She's loyal to us. To me and Elena and Bonnie and even Damon even though she shouldn't she trusts us, and she would never risk betraying that and you know it."
"You should just tell them besides the initial shock factor I doubt they will care after a couple of hours."
Elijah wasn't listening to the vampire his ears straining to listen to another conversation. He figured out they were being followed a while back. His brothers were truly insufferable although Stefan Salvatore was a surprise.
Taking out his phone he quickly wrote a small message showing it to Caroline like she did to him at the Grill.
Caroline took the phone and nodded before returning it and taking another bite of her salad. This whole thing was getting ridiculous.
"I'll be right back. Excuse me." Caroline said rising and making her way to the restroom before flashing behind her best friend and the Original Hybrid who were huddled quite closely behind a large plant overlooking Elijah.
"Seriously!" Caroline yelled startling the two men and causing the waiter from earlier to glance in their direction.
Klaus smirked rising, "Hello love, enjoying your dinner."
Caroline glared before turning to her best friend, "Really Stef? You're here with Klaus. Why are you spying on me? I expect it from him but you!"
"Care look I just wanted to make sure you were safe. Elena and I found out that Kol and Klaus were going to follow you and Elijah, and we just wanted to make sure you would be safe."
"Then why all this!" Her voice getting louder as she motioned to the large plant as if they were the ones who brought it in there. The waiter noticing the scene started making his way over.
"Is there a problem here?"
Caroline turned to glare at the man with the white suite and black vest. "No."
"Miss it would be better if you were to leave these gentlemen to their-"
Caroline laughed, "Them gentlemen. Yeah right now listen here Mr. Why don't you go and mind your own business?" Caroline retorted causing Klaus to smile in amusement and Stefan to sigh.
"Love, calm down we understand-"
"Don't you dare tell me to calm down, Klaus. I don't care who you are, but you have no right. No right to drag Stefan in here and spy on me or your brother."
Elijah noticing the commotion placed a few bills on the table and made his way towards the trio.
"Niklaus. This is beneath you."
"Shut it Elijah. We wouldn't even be stooping to these measures if you had just told us!"
"Maybe we should take this back to the hotel?" Stefan said rising and making his way towards Caroline.
Caroline was about to disagree when she noticed the crowd they were drawing and nodded. "I'll head back with you."
"Klaus." Stefan said motioning for the keys.
Klaus took them out of his pocket and threw them at Stefan who caught them. "We'll see you back at the hotel."
"I'm sorry we just wanted to protect you. I was keeping an eye on Klaus and he caught me, so we decided to just keep an eye on you together."
"It's okay. I'm fine thank you for looking out for me. I'm sorry you got dragged into this."
"What is 'this' exactly?"
"I found something interesting about Elijah. Klaus and Kol and Rebekah wanted to know what it was, but Elijah promised me to introduce me to someone if I kept it a secret and I did."
"Okay, but who is this person I've been keeping an eye on you and I haven't seen you with anyone other than Elijah."
"Elijah got a couple of vampires to sneak him in and out."
"And this person."
Caroline sighed and looked out the window she could see Klaus and Elijah arguing through her side mirror.
"Why can't you tell me?"
"You don't even care. You are just irritated that Ms. Forbes and I share something-"
"You don't share anything with her."
"Perhaps either way you do not need to worry, Niklaus. I am not interested in pursuing a romantic relationship with her. As I am aware, she is currently with your hybrid."
The original hybrid growled before pulling his phone out of his pocket apparently Kol had found something interesting in Caroline's hotel room that might just be the key to figuring out what the hell was going on.
The original brothers, a baby vampire, and an ex-ripper where in Elijah and Caroline's suite's living room. The youngest original had a smirk on his face.
"Hello darling any chance you want to change I saw a pretty red number in your suitcase that would make you look quite ravishing."
"You went through my stuff!"
"Well, yes I just said I did. Was I not clear? Hmm… Oh well then I also found some very interesting pictures of you, 'Lijah, and some old guy. Did you have a threesome because that would be-"?
"Kol shut up and just show us what you found."
Kol frowned at his brother but quickly flashed out and back into the room dumping several polaroids on the coffee table.
Stefan's eyes widened as he saw a smiling Caroline and an amused Elijah with- was that Ryan Gosling in the middle?
Klaus grabbed the picture and looked at it. "Who's that?"
"Seriously."
"Well sorry love if I haven't kept up to date with pop culture. In case it hasn't crossed your mind, I have been trying to break a thousand-year-old curse placed on me by my cheating whore witch of a mother and bastard stepfather."
Caroline's smile tightened glaring at his tone before turning to Elijah.
"You should tell him."
"He's an actor."
Klaus rolled his eyes at the obvious.
"Ripper you obviously recognize the man who is he."
"He is a film and T.V star. His name is Ryan Gosling he has appeared in several films mostly chick flicks, which I'm guessing that's how Caroline knows him."
"What are chick flicks?"
"Kol shut up and what does he have to do with 'Lijah."
Elijah sighed, "In the 90's we had an argument over the location of the coffins. I left Niklaus to cool off for a few months and came to Los Angeles. In my time here I met Mr. Gosling when I ended up performing alongside him in a television show. Ms. F- Caroline watched the show and discovered my past. I promised to introduce her to Gosling in exchange for her silence."
Elijah waited for someone to say something. His sibling's eyes were widened as they exchanged a silent conversation unsure if they believed him.
"So, you're saying you were in the entertainment business?" Kol questioned unsure if those were the correct words.
"Yes. It was quite brief I only appeared in one episode and then left making sure to remove any memory of myself from the city so our father wouldn't track us."
Klaus turned to Caroline the gears in his head turning and smirked. "So, sweetheart what chick flick film was dear Elijah in?"
Caroline crossed her arms and glared but remained silent.
Klaus swiped Kol's phone his brother had a newer model that would allow him to search the internet while his phone was mostly to call or text his minions.
"What name did you use?"
"Daniel Gillies."
Klaus nodded and searched up the name when he couldn't find anything he turned to Caroline. The baby vamp took the phone out of his hands and went to look up a short clip of Elijah acting on the show before pressing play and handing it back to Klaus who now had Kol and Stefan on each side looking at the video. Each man trying to keep a straight face.
A week later in the Mikaelson manor.
The youngest of the Mikaelsons all sat together finally watching the series and coming to the Episode where their brother appeared in. They all laughed. Bekah took pictures. Klaus commented on the cadets fighting technics and Kol admired the villainy schemes and failures of Aries God of War and his niece and nephew.
In the Salvatore Boarding House Elena, Bonnie, Jeremy, Matt, the Salvatore brothers, and Alaric sat rewatching episode clips of the original laughing.
Caroline frowned and shook her head walking in. "Come on guys can we watch something else."
"Yeah yeah in a bit blondie."
"Stef!"
Stefan hit his brother in the back of the head lightly in defense before turning back to Elena who was listening to Jeremy and Alaric talk about how cool it would be to have an academy where they could learn to defend themselves and fight monsters.
