OKAY! Luckily, I managed to make another chapter this week! I'm so happy! Anyway! Let's see what kind of reaction would Rust have when meeting Lucky Abrams! Also, why is Lucky Abrams here for?!
After being told about Blitz. T Abrams coming here, The next day, Rust joins Leo, Zapp and Zed went out and are outside near the Grand Central Terminal as they were notified that Abrams got off the plane and is making his way here. Looking between his seniors, Rust Knight wonders why everyone acting like today is going to be the worst day or something.
"Hey Leo. What's the deal with this Blitz guy? Everyone is actin weird or somethin." Rust asked him to which Leo sighed. "Well...uh..." How he can put this so Leo can't scare Rust off from this guy? It's going to be hard to.
"He's known as Lucky Abrams. He is known as the greatest vampire hunter as he hunted down and defeated many Blood Breeds over the years." Zed informs him. "As Klaus said, he is his teacher."
"That." Leo pointed out.
"Shit really?! I bet he got good luck and must be savage!" Rust grinned. Though, the greatest vampire hunter?! What does Blitz really think of him? For sure, the blond is nervous in meeting. But that should be the least of his concerns as Zapp burst out.
"HELL NO! He has the worst luck alive!" Zapp yelled comically.
"Huh?!" Rust blinked dumbfounded, "But he's lucky, ain't he? Why is he called Lucky Abrams then?" Rust questioned.
"You see, Rust." Zed sighs, "Mr. Abrams is cursed by multiple Blood Breeds over the years."
"Huh? Wait...curses? As in curse curse curse curse?" Rust asks, "Like a magic spell that is bad and stays with ya? That kind of curse?"
"Yes, those curses! What else are we talking about?" Zapp scowled. "Dumbass.." He muttered. Rust made a face at that response. Zed sighs even more, "Yes. Curses. However, each curse from every Blood Breed he faced canceled each other out, and...it doesn't affect him."
"Huh?!" That didn't make any sense to the teen, "Wait a sec. Hold up. Then isn't he really super lucky ain't he? I mean if the curses cancel it out and each other, then...what's wrong? "
"I was getting to that part; you see, the curses create chaos and destruction happens around him even though it doesn't affect him which makes him lucky. However, it can affect anyone whenever Abrams is around." Zed explained.
"Uh...so that's it?" Rust asked.
"Yes." Zed nodded.
"Really?"
"Yeah." Leonadro nodded. Rust nods, "So like, he is cursed by the vamps but the curses cancel out each making him super lucky but it creates bad luck for everyone else?" Rust summarized this, processing this whole information in order to understand.
"That's right." Zed nodded.
Huh. I thought he would be freak out by this. Rust is taking this pretty well. Leo is glad that Rust is getting it until...
"Oh c'mon! It can't be that bad." Rust laughs it off.
Nevermind. Leo thought as he stares at him in disbelief.
Rust doesn't believe it, "If we're talking about bad luck here, how bad can it be?!" He asked as he isn't afraid of bad luck. That will quickly change in a minute.
"Ah! There you three are!" A man approaches from the other side of the street. It got Rust's attention while Leo and Zapp yelped as they are backing up. Based on their reaction, this must be the guy! Rust stares at him. He's tall, has short black hair, has a mustache and goatee, he is wearing a brown trench coat, carrying a briefcase. Rust also noticed that man is probably wearing a suit and tie under that coat. "It's good to meet you again, Leo."
"It's him..." Leo whispered. Huh. Looks like he got class. Nice. But that's him, I thought he would be strong-looking or something.
"Hm? Who's that with you! Oh! You must be the one that Klaus is talking about, aren't you?" He called out.
"Aye. Sup! Ya must be Abrams, nice to meet-" Without thinking, Rust goes to greet him, and suddenly, the screech of a car hits another car, just missing Rust barely.
Huh? Wait what was that? Rust froze as he blinked stupidly.
Another car collides, this time one of the cars was sent flying across the street on the other side near where Rust and his seniors are.
Next, an explosion happens where a wheel of tire hits a fire hydrant, releasing a burst of water into the air to where the massive water pressure hits the street lights causing to fall and it flattens another car to which it swirls across the street. Hitting the streetlamp across the street, made it tumble over but not only that!
Wut?
The car hit the pole the street lights sent tumbling down, hitting a hot dog stand, then all of sudden, for some ungodly unlucky reason, it went up flames resulting in another explosion. Things were flying everywhere. Soda cans, where of one of them hit Zapp on the eye following a splash of hot dog burn.
"OW! MY EYE! FUCK! IT BURNS!" He yelled as he rolls on the ground in pain, holding his eye.
W-what the? He sweatdrops. Hey...what the fuck?
If that wasn't enough, the street lamp hits another object. A trash can is rolling into the street in a way of another car. The car's tire blow resulting in sparks and swirling uncontrollably after making contact, pasting Rust and his seniors, it crashes into a restaurant.
This chaos all happened in seconds.
After that moment of destruction, Rust gave his two cents.
"Ya know what? Imma head out." Rust said this with a smile on his face as what he just saw right now has made him convinced.
"Eh?" The trio just stared at him.
If that wasn't' enough. There is an explosion from the restaurant. A piece of shrapnel missing him by inches. A cut appeared on his temple now bleeding. No scratch that, there is bleeding on the side of his head. It made the trio stare wide-eyed.
"R-rust?!" Zed asked now concerned.
"HAHAHA!" This scared the Zed and Leo, "I'm good! Ya know what?! There was somethin I was goin to do! I mean-hahaha! Look at the time! Just tell this guy that I'm sick, okay, hi? Bye!" Rust goes to leave until his hoodie is grabbed and is roughly pulled back by Zapp.
"OH, HELL NAW! YOU'RE PART OF THIS NOW AND HE WANTS TO SEE YOUR SORRY ASS, SO, WE'RE ALL GOING TO SUFFER TOGETHER." Zapp yelled. "ALL. OF. US. TOGETHER!" He yelled each word as he had a black eye thanks to an aluminum can of soda hitting his face hard.
Rust just lost it.
Rust went full Irish.
"F* NO! EFF OFF! WHAT THE BLOODY HELL?! ARE YA LOST YER F%#KIN MIND, HI?! ARE YA CODDIN WITH ME, LIKE?! WHAT KIND OF CURSE DOES HE HAVE, HI?! LOOK YA MUPPET! FOOK!" He pointed at the destruction that Lucky Abrams cause, "HIS LUCK JUST NOW HAMES EVERYTHIN! YOU DIDN'T TELL OH, THAT THE CURSES CAUSES LIKE A LOT OF ACCIDENTS! I ALMOST DIED! I THOUGHT IT WAS BAD BUT NOT A BAD DOSE LIKE THIS LIKE! NO FOUR-LEAF CLOVER GONNA SAVE US FROM THIS SHIT! HI?! HI?! ARE YOU F%#KIN CRAZY?!"
"I'M CRAZY?! YA THE ONE WHO DIDN'T BELIEVE THE FIRST TIME AROUND! SO SUCK IT UP, YOU DAMN NOOB!" Zapp shouted, putting the teenager in the headlock so he won't get away.
OH, SHUT UP! YOU STINK!" Rust retorted, trying to pull away.
"SCREW YOU!" Zapp yelled.
"Honestly! This city has gotten much dangerous than usual!" Abrams came over as he walks around the crashed vehicle pileup, looking around as if he is completely oblivious that it wasn't his own doing. Of course, Abrams is oblivious to this as always. He gave the blond a smile, "So you must be Rust Knight. Hello there, young man! I'm Blitz T. Abrams. Nice to meet you!" Abrams offered a handshake to which Rust grows pale. "Are you alright, young man? You look pale!"
Rust just wants to go home. No, really. He really wants to go home.
"I'm so sorry, Rust." Leo pats the teenager on the shoulder, comforting the poor teen. "I was shocked too when I met him the first time. Trust me, I know how you feel" He said.
Fuck me, I wanna go home.Regardless, he shakes Abram's hand.
At the office of Libra, the group returned with Abrams. It wasn't a far walk. Well, no... scratch that. It felt like hours...getting from Grand Central Terminal to the office. They managed to get there in one piece.
Just barely.
The group saved for Abrams looked like they trudged through a war zone with their hair (except for Zed since he doesn't have hair but his feelers on top of his head look like zigzag due to stress) are messy with split hairs all over. All of them are covered in dirt and grease due to the destruction that Abrams's curse gave them. There are bags under their eyes as they constantly keep or tried to keep the destruction to a minimum. Leo for example had to hit the ground a couple of times to avoid the flying debris.
"Ha! Looks like all of you are back!" Steven said with a smile, sipping his cup as if he is happy that he didn't go out there, picking Abrams up. "Nice to see you again, Abrams!" He said.
Rust seriously wants to go home. He didn't believe this shit at all. Rust and his group have to confront hurdles thanks to Abram's massive curse. Now Rust has to look over his shoulder and be aware of his surroundings when things go awry thanks to that.
For example, huge fallen debris hits the ground from the roof, missing Rust and his seniors by inches.
"HOLY SHIT!" Rust cursed as he hits his butt on the floor.
"For crying out, doesn't the city update on their repairs?" Abrams complained. "The taxpayers must be ripped off from this. I feel bad for them!" He exclaimed.
Seriously! What the hell?! He doesn't notice?! Rust stared at him speechless. The hell is up with him?!
"Don't bother saying anything to him, Rust. Zapp tried." Leo pats him on the back, sighing not before ducking a flying tire.
"Seriously! You did that!" Zapp retorted at Abrams.
"What are you talking about, Zapp? I just got here!" Abrams retorted, dumbfounded and again, completely oblivious.
"See?" Leo pointed out to Rust. Rust squints his eyes in disbelief, you gotta be kiddin me...
Rust groaned as he truly understands what Libra is feeling right now. No wonder, his seniors are acting weird yesterday and today. Though, Abrams is nice enough to give him a magic custom band-aid patch with Healing Aura on his head as he noticed the bleeding so he isn't that bad.
Rust punched a trashcan outta the way since some caster on the streets cast a misspell. Not fault of that caster, it's the curses. If anything, Rust kind of feels bad for him for being cursed and he doesn't know it. Or maybe he does? And he wasn't sure what to do about it. Rust doesn't know. It wasn't his business to judge.
Once Rust watches Abrams greeting Klaus as he taps on the patch that Abrams given him, he blinks at an unfamiliar voice.
"Oh my! So, this is the kid, you're talking about?" It was female, he turns his head and widens his eyes to see. It was a thin blond woman with an eye patch over, she is thin and wears a trench coat like Abrams, but it was dark red and fashionable. Underneath that jacket, it looks like she is wearing top-crop, black shorts, and high heel boots. It was enough to make Rust blush.
"H-hi?" Rust greeted; his cheeks flushed pink.
"Oh, my goodness, you look so cute! You remind me someone of I know!" The woman said cheerfully as she goes and grabs his cheeks, pinching them. Wh-what?! Rust winced his eyes. She gasps as if she realized, "Wait! This kid got a bounty on him?!" Now she's mad. Oh hell, what did I do?! Rust is now scared. "Hey Scarface! What kind of person puts a bounty on him, huh?!" She yelled at Steven, demanding to know. "I want to know!"
"Relax, K.K. You're going to know soon enough. Also...uh...can you let go of him?" Steven pointed out as Rust looks shocked and scared," You're scaring him."
"Oh! I'm so sorry about that!" K.K letting him go out, "Anyway, it's nice to meet you. I'm K.K." She smiled motherly at him, making Rust blush even more.
"Uh...um...yeah, nice to meet you, ma'am. I-I'm Rust. Rust Knight." Rust introduced himself properly.
"Oh! And a gentleman!" K.K laughs heartily. "So cute!"
"Anyway, the meeting is starting. Rust, I would like you to attend as well." Steven said.
"Right, sir-" Steven raised a brow at this, to which Rust quickly corrects himself, "I mean Steven."
"That's better." Steven chuckled. Rust goes into the glass room where the meeting is. Leo took him there as a part of the tour and sat down for a bit. But now, this place is used for a meeting. It felt like Rust needs to get serious about this.
"What the? Zapp...what happened? You smell." K.K lifted her hand to cover her nose.
"Guess..." Zapp grumbled. K.K did a 'o' with her mouth as she finds out. "Oh sorry."
"Stinky trash bag." Chain appeared as she muttered.
"Shaddap she-bitch!" Zapp retorted. "You're so lucky with your tangible powers and shit."
"Don't you mean Intangibility?" Zed corrected him.
"Nobody asks you, fish-face!" Zapp retorted.
"I think after this, we probably need a long shower," Leo said.
"You and us both," Zed said in agreement.
"Since when fish showers? Don't soap kill ya?" Zapp questioned.
Zed sighs, "Actually-"
"Alright, everyone. Time to get serious." Steven waved his folder, telling everyone to quiet down. The meeting has started.
Or not...
But still...Rust wonders what does the greatest vampire came here to visit him for.
"SO!" Abrams leans in and looks at Rust as if he examined him. "I heard that your blood arts allow you to devour Blood Breeds and make use of their blood, yes?" He asked jovially.
Oh...that.
Rust frowns at this but quickly, he didn't want to be rude so he answers, "Yeah...I guess."
"Amazing. And is it true, that you're a demon, Rust?" Abrams asked.
"Yeah," Rust answered.
"Interesting. A demon fighting off a Blood Breed? It's been a while since I've heard of it." Abrams smiled.
"Awhile? What do you mean by awhile?" Zapp questioned.
"You see, I know that any of you know this. But demons are rivals to vampires." Abrams pointed it out, "Just like how werewolves to them but in this relationship, theirs is different." Chain blinked at this as if she is curious to know, "If anything, what vampires are to demons are of... prey and predator since medieval times or rather way back to ancient times." Abrams stated.
'Wait...prey and predator?' Leo questioned.
"I see." Steven nodded. "That actually makes sense. It's not surprising."
Zed looks over to Rust, worrying about how he feels about this.
"Yes, yes. Especially a blood demon that devours Blood Breeds. Quite fascinating. Thought this is the first time I saw one in human form before or rather in person." Rust hearing that, it made him stared as he looks confused. "Really amazing, really. So, tell me, I heard from Klaus that you were once human, yes?"
"Yeah," Rust answered. Where is he going with this? It's like old news already.
"And this is your first time fighting a Blood Breed. A few weeks ago?" Abrams asked.
"Uh...yeah, it's the first time, I met that guy...uh..what's his name?" Rust tries to remember, now he comes to think of. He doesn't even know his name.
"Azzerad Viscardi Florin," Klaus answered. "That is the name of the vampire that attacked you and your friends and the second vampire, Zacheous Malachi is the one who attacked you and friends at the party."
"Oh yeah, like Klaus said." Rust nodded.
K.K frowns at this as she is seriously worried. A kid like that having to fight Blood Breeds attacking him and his friends. She felt angry hearing that. No child should endure that. Poor thing. She makes sure no Blood Breed will ever try to touch him.
"Interesting! And your wounds healed instantly after fighting them, taking some of their blood. Do you remember how did you managed to succeed that?" Abrams stroking his goatee.
"Uhhh...um.." Rust looks down, as he remembers sending it out at the Blood Breed crashing the afterparty. But he wasn't sure how to describe it.
"Excuse me, Mr. Abrams." Zed cuts in, "I don't think Rust is ready to answer that question."
"Huh? Whaddya talkin about fish face? The kid gotta answer. He's the one who summoned that big blood dog thing that took a huge chomp of that Blood Breed at the hospital. We all saw it." Zapp crossed his arms smugly.
For some reason, Zapp unwittingly came to the rescue in answering the question that Abrams wants to hear.
"Amazing. So, you conjured up a blood-like beast that takes a bite out of the Blood Breed and instantly heals your wounds. So, this made me wonder, young man. Whose devil did you sign a contract with?"
"Uh..." Rust did remember the devil but he wasn't sure if he should say it.
"I'm going to take a wild guess. Is it Ironia The IronBlood Devil?" Abrams mused.
Silence fills the room as the members wait for Rust's answer.
"Yeah...she is the one I made a contract with." Or rather, Rust narrows his eyes. He glances over to K.K for a brief moment, reminding him of someone close to him, but he quickly averts his eyes away. "She's the one."
"Hey! Who the hell is Ironia?!" Zapp asked, wondering what kind of name is that. "Also, what kind of devil are we talking about here? Blood Iron Devil? Steven, you said that there's a whole bunch of different devils."
"That's right? I look up a bunch of occult and demonology. She is known as the devil that people modeled the Iron Maiden from." Steven answered as he is surprised himself.
"I-Iron Maiden?" Leo repeated. "Like the band?! No, wait, as in the torture device that people created in the Dark Ages? That Iron Maiden?!" Leo gasped. Rust frowns a bit as he looks embarrassed. "Yea...that's kinda what my devil is..."
But does really she look like an Iron Maiden?" K.K asked.
"Only the waist down... with uh the casket and all." Rust answered, "The upper part is human, she wears armor, a helmet, and carries a lance. Oh, she wears robes and stuff. Haven't see her real face though."
"Holy shit!" Zapp cursed as he wouldn't believe it. And here's the first thing that came to his mind,
"Is she hot?" He asked. Rust just made a face as he stares at him like 'really?'
"That's the first thing you think of?" Zed scowled, looking at Zapp with a face.
"Stupid trash bag." Chain muttered before asking Rust, "So how did you meet her?" She asked curiously. This got Rust eerily silence which got everyone worried but he did answer.
"I-...I can't remember. It's kind of blurring. But I think it's around when the Collapse happened." He answered. This got everyone startled save for Abrams as if he wasn't surprised by this information. It was kind of expected.
"Rust, do you mean that Ironia found you and made a contract with you at that time.?" Klaus asked.
Rust frowned but nods. He recalled in his thoughts. The memories are blurry but he had an idea how and why it happened. But it wasn't something he wanted to remember. His heart hurts when he tries to remember the parts.
A woman pleading. Him coughing horribly and Ironia standing before them, making a contract before he became a demon.
"Yeah, I wasn't the only one. Most of us did it." Rust answered.
"You mean like Ink and the others in your fraction?" Klaus asked.
"Yea, and other teenage fractions in the city. Some of them, I think." Rust scratched his neck.
"Like the Demon Elite Anthem, The Lupins, Upstander Campaign and Knights of Darkness?" Steven read the files. "Those the groups that you and fraction encountered? Other demon groups."
"That's right." Rust said while thinking. "Most of em are demons, some are human and some are Beyondians." Though it made him wonder, would demons consider be Beyondains? "We fought a lot with Anthem and Lupins but we got along with Campaign and Knights of Darkness. Ink...uh...has a way of makin friends." Rust smiles a bit.
"Interesting. I figured that. However, this is also not happening just in Hellsalem's Lot." Abrams stated which got everyone look at Abrams in surprise, "It's happening everywhere." He added.
Wait, what? Even Rust is surprised to hear this. He didn't know that.
"What do you mean, Abrams?" Klaus asked as he is surprised himself.
"It's exactly what I'm saying, Klaus." Abrams stated firmly. "There are many cases of youth having supernatural if not demonic abilities. Too many to count, unfortunately."
"How many are we talking about, Abrams?" Steven asked as he is now worried.
"Hmmm...if I have to guess..." Abrams strokes his goatee, "It would be one hundred and counting."
Shock filled the room as Leo gaped with his eyes widen.
"Wait a sec, what do mean?! There's like hundreds of this noob and his dumbass friends around the world?!" Zapp pointed at Rust, frantically as if he couldn't believe this. Rust grumbles, "I aint' no damn noob..." He glares at Zapp.
"Yes." Abrams answers, "Across the states, in different countries and continents. Ever since the Collapse, there are been strange happening around the world. I believe you heard about what happened in New Jersey with that serial killer gang. It's been saying that most of their members are in their late teens and older. However, most of them were taking drugs that are Beyondian origins."
Rust frowned at this as he knows what Abrams is talking about.
"Hey! Steven is talking about that the other day." Leo recalled. "He said that your fraction fought their fraction on their home turf." He said to Rust.
K.K gasped as she covers her mouth. She gasped with horror. Rust and his friends fought serial killers?! When, how?! This made her very concerned and worried about the child's well-being, even though she met him the first time, today. However, she isn't the only one.
"Yeah! I heard about that. It made me wonder! Why the hell did you go there for?" Zapp asked, now frowning. Rust looks over to everyone, sensing everyone is worried and honestly, he can't just lie to them so he answers without thinking,
"Because they pissed us off."He said it, angrily. That got everyone taken aback.
"What kind of reason is that?!" Zapp yelled in disbelief.
"Pissed you off?!" Leo exclaimed.
"That's not a good-" Zed speaks
"It's damn good reason!" Rust shouted angrily, "Those assholes tried to invade Hellsalem's Lot a few times, they're goin for the projects where the Lupins lived. They tried to kill everyone for fun! They kidnapped some of people we know and they got put in this sick game called Purge Night! Like from the damn movie! So, Ink and the rest of us go in with a help with another fraction to kick their asses!" Rust explained his reason to them.
If that wasn't enough.
"But that's too dangerous, no child should-" K.K speaks.
"We know it's dangerous and we don't care if it is! Also, those bastards are around the same age as us! So it's fine!" Rust said, "Ink killed the leader and we went home, saving people as we can. That's it." He crossed his arms then realized how he raised his voice. "Uh...I'm sorry for yelling! I need a get a break."
"Wait Rust." Zed held out his arm.
"Let him go." Klaus tells Zed as Rust ran out of the room. As Rust fully leave the meeting room, this got a lot of Libra members thinking.
"Jesus Christ, if dealing with Blood Breeds aren't enough, now we got to deal with demonic brats runnin around?" Zapp groaned.
"Luckily, there are some organizations dealing with but...it's getting hard to deal with new numbers rising." Abrams sighed.
There are two facts that members of Libra didn't let go of their minds.
The fact the devils made contracts with children.
And the second there are kids killing kids each other.
Now the question remains.
For what?
Wow! That took a dark turn! But not to worry, this chapter is going to get light like the usual and there's going to be more information passed around in the meeting with Abrams in the next chapter. If anything, I bet some of you have questions!
Feel free to post your reviews if you have questions! Though I can't promise I can answer all of them. :D
