"Adrien, look at me!" Marinette's voice sounded shrill of fear. She grabbed his shoulders and shook him. When he didn't answer, Marinette pulled him out of the chair and slapped him in his face three times, so that his sunglasses fell on the ground. Marinette was startled by the emptiness in Adrien's eyes. Like he wasn't there.
"Adrien it's me!" She shook him again. When he still didn't answer, Marinette kissed him. A present look slowly appeared in Adrien's eyes again. He then noticed that Marinette's lips were on his. His face turned red and he stepped back, cutting off their kiss.
"Marinette…. that... that was…." There was a fear in his eyes. He tilted his head, as if he tilted the bad images out of his head.
"Marinette, what are you doing here? Did you just…"
"My parents are gone," She said, ignoring his last statement. It looked like she was about to cry. Her voice stopped. Adrien grabbed her wrists and held them tight.
"How did you get in here?"
"Through the backdoor. I found you here in the room, alone."
"Alone?" Adrien let go of Marinette's wrists and turned around. The couch was empty, he only saw it now. His parents were away. The TV was still on. He grabbed the remote and quickly turned the TV off. He looked at Marinette.
"I know why. I saw it."
"What did you see? I still don't understand."
"The wolf in my head," Adrien said. "The TV sends invisible messages via malfunctions, through TV 12, causing the wolf to crawl into your head and slowly take possession of you."
"Which wolf?" Marinette looked at him with surprise.
"A very old wolf. Hawkmoth is his name and he says that he is the primal man wolf. He orders you to think like a wolf, to become a wolf, once he has invaded your mind." Adrien rubbed his eyes. "You were just on time, Marinette. If you had been a second later, I wouldn't have remembered this all, I think."
Marinette looked at him with a mixture of disbelief and horror. "So, our parents think they are wolves? And that is why their eyes are yellow?"
"Looks like it. Apparently they were hypnotized through the invisible messages on the TV."
"Do you have a wolf in your head now?" Marinette found all of this very scary.
"Just a little bit. I probably haven't sat in front of the TV for too long, thanks to you," Marinette blushed. "If you hadn't come in, that I too would be…." He shivered. He suddenly took a step forward. "We have our parents. I know where they are."
"Where? Where do we have to search?"
"Somewhere in the city. I have a place in mind." He grabbed his sunglasses from the ground. "You have to bring your sunglasses."
"It's already dark outside, stupid."
"I know. But we have no idea who we will meet once we go outside. At least, they won't be able to see our eyes." Marinette nodded.
"Alright, but we have to take Plagg with us. I can't let him stay home alone. He's asleep." Adrien grabbed Marinette's hand before she could leave.
"Uhm.." Adrien blushed. "Why...why did you kiss me?" Marinette's face turned red in an instance. She looked at the ground.
"I...I had to wake you somehow." Adrien let go of her hand.
"I see.." Marinette cleared her throat and walked out the door. Adrien followed her to her house.
"Wake up Plagg, will you. I'll grab my sunglasses." Marinette quickly walked up the stairs and showed Adrien the room of her little brother. Adrien softly knocked on the door.
"Hello, Plagg, wake up." He pushed the door open. "Time to wake up, buddy."
There was a shuffling sound in the bedroom. A dark figure tore free from the darkness and jumped onto Adrien in a growling tone.
