Princess of Miracles

Chapter 5

Matt's P.O.V

I gasped and pulled both Mimi and Dai back behind me as the group transformed, my eyes wide as everyone else got up to be on the defensive. "M-matt," Dai whispered as I turned slightly to look at her. She shook her head and gently squeezed my bicep.

"We are not going to hurt anyone, our job is to protect the digital world," the female said as she fluttered over to us and held out her hand. Dai was quick to take it despite me trying to hold her back. I watched nervously as the mysterious Digimon pulled her closer lifting her up off the ground as Dai gasped softly her face going pale.

"Kazemon set her down," The one that had been Takuya ordered as Dai was set back down and stumbled back against my chest.

"S-sorry… I moved to fast," she whispered as I pulled her closer. The group quickly transformed back as everyone started asking questions all at once still in shock over this discovery. I carefully picked Daisuke back up and nodded to my partner as we slipped further away from the group. The young girls immediately wrapped up around my neck as she groaned softly.

"Matt, maybe we should get her out of the digital world for today, "Garurumon said softly as he crouched down in front of me. I nodded after a moment and gently laid Dai on the wolf.

"Wait here okay…" I said brushing the bangs out of her face as she nodded tiredly laying down so her head rested against my partners neck as Veemon jumped up behind her. I carefully made my way back to the group, "hey!" I called

The groups all turned to look at me as Takuya stepped forward, "Why is Dai on your wolf?" he asked his voiced filled with concern that I quickly waved off.

"Dai need's to rest so I am taking her back to our world so that she can heal in a safer environment. If we want to continue, we can use my place my dad is out of the country on an assignment at the moment so we will not be disturbed," I explained, "these guys can give you directions over, but I am not waiting." Quickly I swung myself up and pulled the young girl tight against my chest. Nodding to Tai and Mimi we took off through the trees. I felt Dai gently grip my arm with one of her hands.

"Matt…" she whispered softly as we rushed through the forest avoiding any wayward Digimon that could cause us trouble.

"It will be okay," I whispered as the television came into view. Quickly my partner slowed to a smooth stop as I jumped off and carefully lifted the smaller girl off. My partner glowed a soft white light as he shifted back to his rookie form.

"I-I want to bring Gabumon with us," She whispered as I looked down at her confused as she pulled away from me and kneeled down. Her eyes flashed a starting gold as the Digi-egg of miracles appeared in front of her. I moved to step forward to stop her when Veemon grabbed my pant leg stopping me. The two of them were surrounded by a golden light for a short moment before it faded. I rushed forward seeing Dai down on the ground her eyes shut as Gabumon stood guard over her. Touching her shoulder I gasped as my digivice glowed and began to change form turning into the style the younger kids had. Quickly I picked her up and rushed towards the portal, Dai needed to actually rest and I was not going to let her be attacked again today. With a soft call we were sucked into the screen. Bracing myself as we landed in my room, I held Dai tight to my chest and slowly made my way to my bed. Laying her down, I took in her features. Her normally tan skin was pale, and her hair which was normally held up in either a high ponytail or a messy bun was free and fanned out around her. Sighing softly I turned away spotting both of our partners in their rookie forms playing and chatting. Quickly I shot a messaged off to Tai informing them I was at my house and that they were good to come over before sitting down my back resting against my bed as Dai slept.

Tk's P.O.V

I watched as my brother left with our leader, noticing the strange look in his eyes. He was unusually soft and gentle with Dai, in a way that I had never seen his behave. He treated her as if she was the most precious thing in existence. I saw it when they were at our dad's place and Dai had fallen asleep against my brother and he stayed the strumming his guitar softly. Hearing a large gasp coming from the older kids I looked over in shock to see all of their Digivices glowing and changing shape. The old technology morphing to match the devices of the younger generations. Tai held his up first examining the new material in curiosity, "How…. damnit Dai," He cursed as my eyes went wide and I sighed. Even in exhaustion she thought more about others then herself.

"How do we know that Dai could even do something like this? Not like she has any control over her abilities!" Yolie said as she and Kari started snickering. My eyes narrowed at their words and actions as the rest of the group stared at them in a mixture of shock and anger.

"How can you say that!" I finally snapped having enough of their actions. "Dai is our friend and our leader. I have not known you as long Yolie but the girl I was introduced too, did not seem like some rude bitch that got off on being cruel!" It was completely out of character for me to swear, but they had pushed me too far.

Kari gave me a look of hurt, that at one point would have made me stop and apologize, "Tk… there is no reason to be so cruel!" She shrieked as I rolled my eyes.

"No Hikari enough is enough, you two need to stop and actually apologize to her. Until then you both are done you are off the team. Neither Cody, Ken, or I will work with you." I said seriously and started walking away Cody and Ken following after me. I quickly made my way to the TV and activated the portal my anger growing quickly as we made it to the real world. Feeling a weight on my head I looked up to Patamon was holding onto my hat. He smiled down at me as I sighed softly. Turning to the other two males he put on a determined face.

"Tk?" Cody said worried. I simply smiled at the young man and his partner.

"Come on lets go check on our leader." I said the two nodding in agreement. We quickly left the computer lab, avoiding the rest of the group.

Tai's P.O.V

I stared at my baby sister in utter disappointment as she tried to cry and make everyone feel bad for her. I was utterly confused on how this could happen, Kari hated bullying over everything. She despised having to hurt anything, it was simply not in her nature to be cruel. Something had happened, but I did not have the time to deal with it. I held the two back as everyone went through the portal back to our world.

"Tai?" Kari asks confusion lacing her voice; beside her Yolie stood with her arms crossed in annoyance.

"You too are benched, no digital world no access." I said darkly my eyes flashing. I watched as both their devices deactivated and the girls screeched angrily trying to argue against my decision, "Enough! Both of you are done if you keep going I am not playing around."

"You can't do this!" Yolie screeched stomping her foot like a child.

"Tai why are you being so mean!" Kari whine as my eyes narrowed further.

"Enough, both of you will return to our world and go home. Hikari I will deal with you when I return and I will be letting mom know to expect you home." I said sternly and forced them through the portal. I gave the girls a pointed look before rejoining the rest of the original group. Luckily no one questioned me as Augmon came closer and took my hand. It felt nice that my partner was able to come with me to our world now, but I was going to have a serious conversation with Daisuke about not over using her powers. I could feel the so called warriors' eyes on my back as we made our way across town to Matt's apartment. I was surprised when we ended up meeting Tk's group at the entrance to Matt's apartment.

"Where are Kari and Yolie?" Tk asked in suspicion as I sighed.

"I sent them home, as of now they will be benched until I figure out exactly what the hell is going on with them." I stated firmly watching the younger blonde. I was surprised when Tk simply nodded accepting my answer before knocking on the apartment door.

Takuya's P.O.V

I stared at the older blonde who answered the door and ushered us in. He took the time to study the other boy, trying to understand why his baby cousin was so drawn to this male. So far all he had learned was that Matt was the secondary leader of the so called 'first' generation of digidestines, played in a band. He had also learned that Matt was at least 2-3 years older than Dai, which set off his protective nature greatly. The two groups had slowly been trading stories, his teammates answering the questions directed at them, and things were going much smoother without the two loud girls from earlier.

"Okay…. So, if I understand correctly Dai is the leader of your second generation…. But what I don't get is why she was allowed to be driven away by those two girls from earlier?" Zoe asked the one of the things that I had genuinely wanted to know.

Matt sighed softly, "That is a bit complicated," he stated as his partner came over to him.

"We have time, so do tell." I snarked finally causing the blonde to look at me as the temperature of the room spiked lightly. Feeling a hand on my arm I sighed and tried to calm down; not letting my powers run so freely.

"Right…." Matt trailed off meeting my eyes directly, "she left a few weeks back, after dealing with their abuse. From what we can tell this started just after they defeated the Digimon Emperor and had only continued to get worse until she left. I have been going with her to the digital world since she still wished to help, but none of us were comfortable with the idea of her going alone." Blonde explained as I tried not to explode with anger as he further explained having been called to help at the dam and how they had come to be in the situation we had found them in. Half-way through his explanation the bedroom door had opened, and Dai had shuffled her way into the living room drawing everyone's eyes. I froze as she immediately placed herself in Matt's lap; her arms around the blondes' neck as she hid against his chest.

Matt's P.O.V

I stiffened but let Dai settle herself in my lap, my one arm wrapping firmly around her waist, so she did not fall. "Dai?" I whispered softly feeling her nod against my neck, "What's wrong?"

"I feel sick…. Something is wrong," Dai whispers back making me stiffen and pull back, cupping her face.

"what do you mean? Is something wrong physically or is something wrong in the digital world?" I asked quickly keeping eye contact with her, ignoring those around us.

"s-something's wrong with the digital world… I need to get to Ken," Dai said her eyes flashing a soft gold as her face paled further. Gently pulling her back against my chest I looked to Izzy praying he had his computer.

"Izzy please tell me you have your computer on you. Dai needs to get a hold of Ken quickly." I stated firmly as the younger kids looked at me in a mixture of confusion and anger.
