LRCN- HOPE YOU'RE READY! XD
If I forgot anyone, I apologize. It's storming here and I'm trying to get this uploaded before the power goes out.
Okay guys! This is the pinnacle of everything. This is THE chapter. Before reading, be sure you have plenty of time available. It's lengthy. Also, there's a whole load of hints and foreshadowing in this chapter. From start to end. So be on the look out. I have taken every spare moment I had to make sure this was perfect. I even added a bunch so things would come across more clearly. All week long this was my project when I had time. Pay close attention and enjoy the show!
Disclaimer: I own nothing of Fairytail. This plot is purely my imagination.
-Previously on To Rewrite Our Story-
"Very well. I shall inform Lucy of what's happening. I'll leave a list with Mirajane of everything that'll be needed." Erza swiftly made her way to the door. Opening it, she waved over her shoulder. "I'll report to you early tomorrow to let you know how it went." And with that she was gone.
Makarov slumped heavily in his chair. Sighing, he tilted his head back to stare at the ceiling. Just imagining how long that list would be and how big of a dent it would put in his wallet.
-To Rewrite Our Story-
(Lucy's P.O.V)
I picked at the peeling paint on the bar counter. Trying my best to ignore the curious stares trying to penetrate my back. I could feel my face heating up in embarrassment. I ducked my head, hoping for the life of me that no one noticed my blushing cheeks. This was all getting ridiculous.
I never asked for any of this. I didn't ask for those horrible nights. Or a 24/7 babysitter.
A sigh slipped past my lips. No. I never did ask for any of it. But the universe seemed to dish it to me by the hand full. I sat there, pitifully observing the floor. 'They really need to fix those nails sticking up. Someone's gonna lose a toe one of these days.' I rubbed a hand across my face in exasperation. 'And of course, here I am in my current predicament and I'm more concerned with the well being of other people's toes.' I groaned, laying my face against the cool bar. 'What the hell is wrong with me?'
A shiny breast plate entered my line of sight, reflecting the natural light that came from the open guild doors. I squinted my eyes before raising my gaze. Erza stood there, watching me amusedly from her spot beside me. "You okay?"
I nodded, slinging blond hair across my face. I tried to blow it away only to give up when it remained obstructing some of my view. "They're staring again."
Erza looked out across the guild hall. "Let them. It's really none of their business." She turned back, and attempted to push my hair behind my exposed ear. A few loose strands escaped to brush against my jaw and cheek. "Your hair is getting pretty long."
I sighed. "Yeah and with each new inch that grows, my patience with it grows shorter."
Erza let out a short laugh. "But it does look pretty on you."
I sighed again. That's all I seem to do anymore. How pitiful.
Raising up in my seat, I made to leave my seat. A glistening gauntlet covered hand stopped me. "Stay seated. I have to discuss something with you briefly. Then we'll leave."
I nodded skeptically before looking at the remaining members of FairyTail lounging around the guildhall. "Is it something safe to talk about here?"
Erza seated herself beside me before following my gaze. "I doubt they'd know any better and it's really nothing that scandalous." Turning around, she held up a couple of fingers to get Kinana's attention. She asked her for a piece of paper and something to write with. I watched as Kinana rummaged around in a cabinet before returning with the requested items. Leaving shortly after to deal with another patron.
Erza made sure the pen worked before turning to me, a determined look upon her face. "Master and I spoke. We have decided that for the time being it would be okay to double your daily dosage. At least until Porlyusica returns."
I cocked a brow at her. "Will that be safe?"
She nodded her head as she settled her hands in her lap. "Very much so. And it should work. Although if you're a little worried about it we can just do one dose tonight and start the new process tomorrow."
I leaned back in my seat, tipping my head back to stare at the ceiling. "I'd feel more comfortable with that," I peeked at her from the corner of my eye. "If it's alright with you."
She gave me a gentle smile. "Of course. Whatever you want."
When she looked away I couldn't refrain from rolling my eyes. 'Whatever I want, my ass.' I thought bitterly. I wanted things to be normal again. I wanted to go on missions with my team again. I wanted to be able to go home to my apartment and spend a night there normally. Sans kicking a certain two out for breaking and entering of course. I wanted to sleep peacefully in my bed. Alone. I wanted all of this to be over and done with. 'Haven't I been through enough?'
I guess I got lost in the dark abyss that is my self pity. It wasn't until my name had been called several times before my mind finally processed it. Realizing someone was trying to get my attention.
I lowered my head and looked beside me. Erza was giving me a look of concern, her hand poised over the paper. Pen in hand. "Did you hear what I said?"
I shook my head. Answering her as well as clearing the thoughts from my head. "Sorry, I kind of zoned out there for a bit."
One of her finely plucked brows quirked up at me. Her eyes practically screamed concern. "You've been doing that a lot lately."
I shrugged, bringing my hand up to pick at the counter again. "Well I do have a lot to think about lately."
"I guess so." I didn't see her reaction but the tone in her voice told me that this wasn't over. She'd find out what so deeply captured my thoughts sooner or later.
"Anyways, I was telling you about something else Master and I discussed."
My brows furrowed, not recalling anything that had been mentioned of such a thing. I guess she saw the look I had as she proceeded on explaining. "We thought it would be good to have a girls night."
I couldn't stop the disgusted sneer that took over my face. "And the king of all perverts suggested this?"
Erza gave an amused half smile, one that I realized didn't look quite right on her. "I've already made sure it was suggested by pure thoughts. And it's actually quite a good idea. You'll have many of us there to take your mind off of things. And I'm sure with who all will be invited, you'll be so exhausted by the night's end that you'll sleep like a rock."
A good night's sleep did sound amazing. "Who all is gonna be invited?"
Erza turned to jot some things down on the paper. However I was sure it was to just hide the wicked smile that briefly crossed her face as she simply answered. "All the girls."
I nearly choked on a quick intake of air that I was sure was supposed to be a gasp. "All of them?" I rasped out.
She nodded a little too happily for my comfort. "Yes. It will be wonderful."
I didn't even try to hide the roll of my eyes this time. "If by wonderful you really mean pure sadistic torture then I agree."
She laughed, jotting a few more things down. "Don't be like that. This will be the perfect opportunity to relax and have fun." She gave me a pointed look from the corner of her eye. "This will also quile the curiosity of those annoying stares you hate so much."
She did have a point. I hated to admit it but it was true. The girls would come over and see everything was okay. By the next night, the whole guild would know nothing was going on. And I'd be freed from their looks and whispers.
However.
"Are you sure it's alright though," I asked, taking my bottom lip into my mouth. Nibbling it nervously. "To have so many people there? At night?"
Erza continued scribbling. "I see no reason why not. Your tonic is still working so everything should be fine."
I nodded, deciding to leave it alone. Although the worry still filled me. Sure my sleep potion was still working. For now. But Erza and I both knew it'd eventually stop. The past few nights were proof of that. Maybe a night of fun and relaxation would destress me enough to have it work as it had before? But there would still be that fear that it wouldn't. What would happen if they all had to witness an episode? 'How would they look at me then?'
The sound of pen scratching against paper ceased as Erza looked over her handy work. With a nod of her head she slid the paper over to me. "I was told to make a list of what we'd need. What do you think?"
I grabbed it, raising it closer to my face. 'Soda. Beer. Chips. Chocolate cake. Strawberry cake. Vanilla ca..-' "Uh, Erza?"
She looked at me expectantly, but you could tell she was basically vibrating with pride at her work. "Yes?"
"Uhhh.." I pursed my lips, not knowing how to bring the present issue up. "The list is great. It really is. But I was just wondering.."
"What is it?" She peeked over my shoulder, glancing over her work once again. "Did I leave something out?"
"Well, I was just wondering." Dear Mavis! How on earthland do I tell her we didn't need all that cake. "Well it's just… there's quite a bit of cake listed here."
She looked at me for a moment. Seeming to process my admittance. "Did I forget one? I could have sworn I listed enough so everyone could have a choice."
I giggled awkwardly as she continued to ramble about the importance of multiple options being available 'Guess it didn't compute.'
"Well if that's all decided, I'll just give this to Mirajane and we can go." She folded the list up pristinely and got up, making her way around the bar towards the unsuspecting snowy haired mage.
I watched as Erza got the take over mage's attention. Getting a front row seat to Mirajane jumping (literally) for joy at the prospect of a slumber party. They continued to chat, both seeming to vibrate in pure excitement. I turned away, hoping to find something less annoying.
Near the guild doors, I saw Levy had set up shop at a table. Multiple stacks of books surrounded her while a large leather bound tomb laid open before her. Checking quickly behind me, I noticed Mirajane and Erza still busy chatting. The party list now laid out between them. Probably discussing the contents.
Deciding it'd be at least a little while before they were finished, I rose from my seat. Making my way over to the blue haired script mage. I ignored the eyes following me as best as I could till I finally sat beside Levy. The book Himalayas thankfully blocking me from other's line of sight.
I sat there for a few seconds in silence, waiting for her to acknowledge my presence. But I should have known better. Levy always completely submerged herself into her books. The guild hall could catch fire and she'd still be none the wiser. Realizing I'd have to physically get her attention, I laid my hand gently on her shoulder. Giving a firm shake, I almost fell back out of my seat as she jumped and whipped towards me at the speed of light.
"Lucy?" She almost seemed surprised I was there.
I gave her a gentle smile in answer, understanding fully that I had been somewhat like a recluse lately. "Hey."
She looked around nervously, peeking around her towers of books. "Is Erza not with you?"
I leaned around the table, pointing to the 2 S-class mages still talking. I felt Levy lean against me to see as well. She leaned back sighing, marking her spot before closing her reading material. "That's a relief. I've been meaning to talk to you but Erza seems to always have this look on her face nowadays." She hugged her book closely to her chest. "It's terrifying."
I tried to hide my giggles behind a hand. "She's not that bad."
Levy shook her head furiously. "You don't see the looks she gives to anyone who has tried to approach you. She's like a menacing guard dog."
My smile instantly turned upside down. 'I hadn't realized she'd been that unapproachable. She's probably the reason behind at least half of the stares I've been getting.' I sighed as I rubbed a hand across my face in exasperation.
Levy, seeing my reaction to her information, patted my back sympathetically. "I'm sure she doesn't mean to. But what I don't understand is why she's guarding you anyways." She grabbed my hands in hers, rubbing her thumb across the back of them. "Is everything okay?"
I gave her the most comforting smile I could muster. "Yeah. Everything is fine. She's just being protective."
That seemed to placate her somewhat. At least enough for her to turn back around and start explaining to me her newest book. Apparently she had taken an immense interest in the black wizard Zeref's past accomplishments. 'If you even want to call them that', I thought bitterly. 'He's dead and gone. Can't we just leave sleeping dogs where they lie?'
She had started on a very vigorous explanation on how many different ways Zeref's "creations" were made and something about how he loved loopholes. Considering everything that had happened, I kindly tuned her out. I understood how one could become fully immersed into a book. If any one was to understand that, it was definitely me. But even I had my limits to what I'd want to learn or know.
Just the mere mention of his name had my skin crawling and unwanted memories flashing before my eyes.
To be haunted so by a mere name.
'Talk about a big load of bullshit.'
Thankfully it didn't last too long. As soon as Erza had finished her little chat and had noticed my absence at the bar, her eyes had immediately sought me out. How? I have no idea. Heat vision maybe? But she had found me and made a beeline to me in pretty much under 5 minutes of noticing my disappearance. I couldn't quite decide if it was impressive or completely frightening. Probably both. But the looks that came over her face when she realized what Levy was talking to me about is what really took the cake. Anger at who she was talking about. Confliction over if she should tell Levy off for such a subject or not. Concern as she made eye contact with me. And finally resolve as she laid her hand over my shoulder and cleared her throat. Cutting Levy off from any further talk of the subject. "Levy! I hope this beautiful day finds you doing well."
Levy seemed startled by the requip mage's sudden appearance. "Oh, hi Erza. I didn't notice you there."
Erza smiled wanly. "I just got here." I gave her a skeptical look, knowing fully well that she had at least been there long enough to completely contemplate what she should do. She either didn't see it or just ignored it. Continuing on. "Listen, we've decided to have a girl's night tonight at Lucy's apartment. Would you like to join us?"
Levy seemed almost hesitant. I couldn't blame her though. I still get the feeling to gag just from thinking of our last girl's night. Who knew a drunk Laki knew such disgusting things? Surely I didn't. And I never wanted to.
Levy started to collect some of the books, starting a small pile. "I don't know Erza. I really don't want a repeat of last time." See. It wasn't just me.
Erza crossed her arms, nodding her head in agreement. "I agree. It was a bit… different. But worry not!" She bent forward a bit, hand resting on her sword's hilt. "Laki is away on a mission."
With a big sigh of relief, Levy's shoulders sagged. "Oh good. I don't think I could handle anymore historical stories behind her little 'toys'."
I couldn't hide my giggle this time. "So does that mean you'll come?"
She still hesitated. "Would a girl's night be okay though? I know something has been going on with you two." She piddled with the hem of her dress nervously. "I don't want to be a bother or anything."
Erza hmm'd before patting my shoulder. "It's nothing serious. We assure you."
Levy perked up a bit. "Really? Are you sure? It seemed kind of important."
Erza looked to me to answer Levy's question. But I knew better. "I've been having nightmares a lot recently. And my health started getting bad. So Master got me a sleep potion and assigned Erza to make sure I took better care of myself."
The blue haired script mage seemed to take this information in before leaning forward, whispering to me like she was sharing a secret. "Were they about the war?"
I couldn't stop myself from flinching.
Here's why I knew better. That pat Erza gave me wasn't for any other reason other than to remind me of my secret. Well our secret. And how I'd have to lie to my close friend.
But thankfully Levy took my flinching as an answer. Sparing me from outright lying to her on the spot. She looked toward her lap, her hands unusually still. " I had noticed you had looked paler and more sickly lately. I figured it might have been something like that."
I rubbed her back soothingly, trying my best to assure her I was fine now without saying it.
Erza seemed to notice my refusal to verbally lie, so she took it upon herself. "Lucy is fine now though. The tonic has been working wonderfully. But we thought a night to relax and have some fun would be just the thing she needed after her full recovery."
It still amazed me Erza could lie so naturally. I always thought she was such an honest person. Wearing her emotions on her sleeve for everyone to see. Strong but sensitive at times. But this whole predicament has proven something to me. She would do anything to ensure the safety of her family.
Even if that meant lying to them.
Levy seemed to cheer up quite easily. Agreeing to come over later after she had returned her books and packed a bag.
"Do I need to bring anything?" She asked, probably wanting to be helpful like always.
"No. The Master has agreed to supply us with everything we need. Paid in full." Erza seemed way too cheerful to let that little tid bit go. Not that I could blame her. Free food was always appreciated.
We said our goodbyes and agreed to catch up later that night before going our separate ways. After all. I'd need as much time as possible to pull all those swords and knee guards out of my couch. 'And of course mentally prepare myself for all the self brought on torture that tonight promised.'
-TROS-
My apartment was officially clean. Not a single scantily made armor or battle axe in sight. 'Thank Mavis,' I thought, the exhaustion already seeping in. 'Erza seriously needs to go through her stuff, the hoarder.'
Seriously though, if Mirajane hadn't shown up early with the food we would have never made it in time. The apartment had been filled with multiple piles of outfits and weaponry. All sorted and organised according to their uses. 'Mavis forbid if they weren't.' Thankfully, Mirajane had invited herself in, took one look at the mess and had ultimately guilt tripped Erza into taking all her things back to her room at Fairy Hills. As quickly as possible might I add.
If Mirajane wasn't a part of FairyTail who knows what would have happened to us all. I tried to suppress the shudder that ran rampant through my body just thinking of all the horrid possibilities. 'Nope. We gotta keep her forever.'
"Are you cold?"
I turned around to see said take over mage arranging all the food on my little coffee table, her face held concern as she watched me.
I shook my head, a smile making its way on to my face. "No. Just a really disturbing thought popped into my head suddenly."
"Oh dear." She went about straightening the table cloth out. "I hope it wasn't anything too bad."
I sweat dropped, my mind going back to said thoughts. One in particular of all the girls being forced into doing the Faries' Penalty Game. With a very cringeworthy twist. I laughed awkwardly. "I'm just really glad you're part of my family, Mira."
She giggled prettily. "Awe. I love you too."
I could feel my face heat up as I quickly turned around, busing myself with finishing up the drink table.
Once everything had been set up and the furniture had been slightly rearranged to accommodate everyone, I excused myself to go shower and change.
As soon as I had closed the bathroom door, a long escaped my lips. The party hadn't even started yet I was ready to call it a night.
I knew Erza had believed herself every time she had assured me things would be fine. But I just couldn't. I mean seriously. Only two days ago I had been told that something was wrong with my blood. Wrong with me. And I was just expected to act all fine and dandy? Who the hell thought that was even possible? It wasn't!
This constant secrecy was putting a lot of stress on me. And now I was to host a party and pretend everything was great. Make sure no one was the wiser.
'But what if I have an episode?' I thought, hugging myself tightly to ward off the chill that traveled up my spine at the thought. 'What if I completely freak out and everyone sees?'
Shaking my head, I try to banish those frightening thoughts from my mind. 'No. No they said I should be okay for now.' Sighing, I make my way to my shower. Turning it on and adjusting the temp just right. I tried to shower in peace but the unwanted thoughts kept coming. Leaning my head back against the shower wall, I just stared at the ceiling. Worrying my bottom lip between my teeth. 'Master said I should be fine. But maybe I should go ahead and start the double dosages tonight. Just to be on the safe side.' Nodding to myself, I made up my mind.
Finishing my shower, I stepped out and wrapped a towel snuggly around my body. Looking at my image in the nearby mirror, I watched as the water dripped from my hair. "Can't freak out and possibly scare my friends if I'm knocked out cold." I don't know why I said it as I faced the mirror. Maybe I was expecting some kind of assurance from my mirrored image. I don't know. Honestly, I'm kind of worried I'm losing my damn mind now. Talking to mirrors and shit. Wow. Just wow.
Sighing, I furiously scrub my face with my hands. Hoping to somewhat bring me back to my senses. Can't be losing my mind right now. That's a no no.
I took one last look at myself in the mirror before I rushed from the bathroom. Fully intent on getting dressed and then starting the party early with a cold drink. Maybe then I could just imagine this little episode of weakness never happened.
That of course was too much to wish for. Because as soon as I exited my bedroom dressed in my pajamas, I was assaulted by a very obviously drunk Cana. She clung to me tightly, a hand groping my breast.
"Ah I missed these!" She slurred out, now fully weighing my breast in her hands. I just sighed, already knowing this was just the appetizer to my full course meal of torture for the night.
Erza must have been waiting on me to reappear since she was instantly by my side trying to pry the resisting drunkard off me. I just stood there, thoroughly embarrassed and wishing for my end to come sooner rather than later. It all seemed rather fruitless until Erza produced a wide broad sword from her requip storage, intent on separating us even by force.
One look at the intimidating metal and Cana was stumbling away, mumbling about killjoys and no bazooka time for her. Hearing her, Erza tensed then took chase after her. I could instantly tell my face burned almost as bright as Natsu's flames. The heat instantly making me duck my head in embarrassment.
A hand laid over my shoulder making me raise my gaze. Levy stood there, book in hand and a smile on her face as she put away her gale-force glasses. "You okay?"
A groan escaped my lips as my head dropped once again but this time in defeat. "Levy, just please kill me now. Before I die from embarrassment later."
She giggled as she led me to the refreshments table. "Erza has already warned everyone to tone it down some before you came in. Cana just got too excited. You'll be fine."
I leaned my head against her bare shoulder. "If you say so."
She giggled again. "I do say so. Now come on, Mira wants us all to get a drink before we begin."
"Begin? Oh god.." I tried to fake sniffles, pretending to ultimately be in tears while I had my face hidden in Levy's shoulder. But one particular sniff had me quickly raising my head, looking at her choice in pajamas in confusion. It looked like any regular ratty old t-shirt. There were rips and tears in various spots. The sleeves had been ripped off. And there was- 'Wait. The sleeves.' I smiled mischievously at her. Betting I looked very much like the cat who caught the canary. "Hey Levy."
She hmm'd at me as she poured her a drink before moving to do the same for me.
I fingered the ripped edges of her sleep shirt teasingly. "That's an awfully big shirt you're wearing. "
Her hands stilled as she peeked at me from the corner of her eye. "W-well big shirts are m-more comfor-rtable."
I held in my giggle at her nervous stammering. "You're right. They are." I threw my arm around her shoulder, hugging her closer. "It's just so unusual. The sleeves are missing and-" I gave her shoulder a long, slow sniff. "Is that a hint of iron I smell?"
She turned on me so quickly I stumbled back, almost tripping over my own feet. Her eyes were wide and face pale. She knew she had been caught red handed. "Please don't tell." She whispered pleadingly.
I giggled softly as to not be heard by the other girls. "I won't say a word. But I do gotta ask what made you wear it if you didn't want anyone to know?"
She bit her lip, turning back to finish with our drinks. Her face a bright crimson. "I didn't have much of a choice. After Gajeel left, that night I noticed a few things missing from my closet."
I gasped. Looking around to make sure no one heard me, I leaned in close so we wouldn't be overheard. "He took your clothes?"
She nodded as her face became even more flushed. "Not all of them. But it's still quite noticeable what he did take."
I giggled, happy for my friend but also somewhat embarrassed for her. "Honestly, I didn't know you guys were that close."
She sighed as she handed me my drink. "We were taking things really slow. But then-" A sad far-away look entered her eyes. "I lost him. Then I didn't."
I patted her shoulder, trying my best to give her a comforting smile. "You realized how it'd be without him and you wanted to enjoy life as best as you could?"
She nodded her head in agreement as her eyes radiated love and warmth. "I realized a lot of things."
I smiled at her, truly happy for my friend. Grabbing her free hand, I pulled her over to where the other girls were starting to gather around the snack table.
Mira sat at the head of the table, shuffling a deck of cards. A look of pure evil on her face as she shared secretive glances with Cana on her right. I looked at Levy nervously before taking a seat beside Erza. Levy sat between me and Lisanna.
"Did everyone get a drink?" Mira asked, straightening the cards against the table's edge.
I leaned forward, looking around as I mentally counted everyone in my head. 'Me, Levy, Lisanna, Evergreen, Juvia, Cana, Mirajane, and Erza.' "Aren't we missing a couple of people?" I asked.
Lisanna peeked her head around Levy to look at me. "Bisca decided to spend the night with her family and Kinana had to watch the bar so Mira-nee could come."
My lips formed an 'o' as I sat back. "Carry on then."
Mira smiled deviously. "Don't worry. There's still plenty of us here for a good time."
I swallowed loudly. My nervousness skyrocketed. 'Should have ran away when I had the chance.'
Mira shuffled the cards once more before distributing one in front of each girl face down. Setting the stack down, she faced us. "Okay now the rules are simple. Leave the cards face down. Don't look at them. You get one chance to switch your card with someone else. Only one. We'll go around the table. Whether you change cards or keep the original, when it's your turn you have to show us your card and answer whatever the card asks." She paused to take a drink. "If you refuse to do what your card says, then that's a strike. Three strikes and then-" She settled all of us with this look of pure sadistic evil. "It's punishment time."
Most of us looked a little unnerved at this. But some couldn't be bothered. Cana sat drinking, not a care in the world. Erza looked as if she was about to destroy us all like this was some kind of competition. A sick, seriously messed up competition.
Mira straightened, smiling brightly as if she didn't just threaten our wellbeing. "I'll go first." She pursed her lips as she looked to every card on the table. "I want to switch with-" she finally settled on her sister. "Lisanna!"
Lisanna giggled as she handed over her card, taking Mira's in return. Mira lifted the card slightly peeking at it before giggling coyly behind her hand. "Oh my." she whispered before turning her card over for us all to see.
Name your first crush.
There were a few gasps and giggles around the table as Mira sat the card down. "Mystogan." She said it without batting an eye. "Sorry Erza but I thought he was so cool and mysterious when we were younger."
Erza raised her cup at the take over mage before taking a brief sip. "No worries. He's technically not my Jellal so it's all good."
After Mira's less than serious question, the tension in the room lessened. Everyone less worried over being forced to spill deep dark secrets. So the game proceeded with giggles and food passed here and there.
Her turn next, Cana didn't bother to exchange her card. Reading from it as she reached behind her for one of the kegs she brought. "Who are you currently seeing?" She sneered drunkenly. "I mean I guess Bacchaus even though we just meet up to drink and have sex."
Her blunt confession had a few girls choking on their drinks.
"So you're not actually together?" Evergreen asked, pushing her glasses up her nose then sipping her drink calmly.
Cana took a hefty drink then scoffed. "Why would I settle down? Besides-" She took another swig."You guys all know how Gildarts would react."
That got some more giggles.
'Does that mean she's at least considered it?' I thought to myself, smiling while actually enjoying myself.
Juvia, deciding to follow Cana's lead, flipped her card over for all to see. What is your biggest concern?
"Well I guess my biggest concern would have to be that love rival will take Gray-sama from me." The glare she sent me had me choking on my drink.
I rolled my eyes. "I already told you. I've never been and will never be interested in Gray."
Juvia's glare instantly became a warm smile. "Then I have no worries."
Levy giggled beside me, causing me to send her a pointed look.
"Sorry" she apologized before giggling again.
Taking a sip from my cup I waited for the next person to go.
Evergreen fanned her self as she grabbed her card. Silently reading over it before hiding a blush behind her fan. Lisanna reached forward, grabbing the card from Ever's hand. "How many kids do you secretly want? Lisanna read, blushing prettily before giggling. Mira smiled brightly from her end of the table, practically bouncing in her seat with excitement while looking at Evergreen expectantly.
The brown haired mage hid behind her fan even more. "Two. A boy and a girl."
Mira completely combusted in her seat. "Oh gosh! I can't wait! Can you just imagine such cute babies!"
Lisanna smiled awkwardly at her older sister. "Mira-nee, they just got engaged. Calm down a bit, okay?"
Mira waved her off with a well manicured hand. "I know but it's still exciting just knowing she wants to have kids."
Lisanna rolled her eyes. "Whatever. I'll go since poor Evergreen seems to be broken."
It was true. Evergreen had retreated behind her fan and had yet to come up. Seemingly more comfortable that way. Hey. To each their own.
Lisanna looked around before pointing at me, drawing me away from my observation of the flushed fairy mage. "Lucy, I want your card." She said, already reaching forward and exchanging the cards without my help. Looking it over, Lisanna gave a half smile. "What's the most embarrassing thing you've ever done?" She sighed, smile still in place. "Guess I should have kept my card."
I sagged a little against Levy in relief. 'Sorry Lisanna, but you can have it.'
"Hmmm," she poked her chin, thinking deeply. "I guess it'd have to be that one time Master walked in on me and Bickslow kissing in the guild kitchen."
Levy gasped beside me as I raised my head to look at Lisanna better.
Cana laughed, hugging her keg to her chest. "I remember that. Poor Makarav walked to his office so quietly everyone thought he had a stroke."
Evergreen snapped her fan shut, probably feeling more comfortable now that the attention was elsewhere. "Wasn't that at the new year celebration?"
Lisanna nodded her head as she swished her drink around. "Yeah. We were both pretty drunk but I still remember it clearly."
Mira giggled, taking up a cookie and nibbling on it. "Now Lisanna gets embarrassed everytime Bickslow is nearby."
The girls laughed as Lisanna hid her blushing face in her hands.
Levy patted her back sympathetically. "You had been drinking so it's not your fault."
Erza nodded, a piece of cake magically appearing in her hands. Though no one was surprised. "If you want, I can always make him forget it ever happened."
Lisanna grimaced, more than likely visualizing how Erza would do it. "No that's okay. I'll eventually get the courage to confront him about. Just not anytime soon." She looked to Levy. "Your turn."
Levy gulped, fingering the corner of her card. I couldn't blame her for hesitating. No telling what was on that card. She finally looked at me. "Lucy, can I trade with you?"
I noticed the helpless look on her face and instant agreed. We switched cards slowly, Levy taking mine and instantly reading it. Her shoulders sagged and I found myself worrying before she set it on the table. Everyone read it. 'Name one person you're jealous of.'
"Lucy."
I looked at her curiously. "What is it Levy?"
She kept her head down but continued. "I've always been jealous of Lucy." I felt my eyes widen in shock. "She's really pretty and smart. And her stories are amazing. But there's one thing that always gets to me." She raised her head, looking directly at me. "Do you remember the battle with Tartaros? When everyone was under the curse of Algria?" I nodded. That very memory still vivid. "I just don't get it. We were all trapped. And you were all alone." She fiddled with the hem of her shirt. "But you fought so hard. You even gave up seeing Aquarious again. Just to save us. It must have been so scary. But you never gave up." She sounded close to tears now. "Even when Fairytail disbanded, you never stopped looking out for us. I joined the Custody Enforcement Unit for the Magic Council. Trying to do as Master told us and move on. But you didn't move on. Natsu told us how you had this big map in your apartment. Keeping tabs on most of us. Searching for the others." She raised her head, tears now flowing down her eyes. "How? How do you not give up? I've been with this guild since I was little. But you, someone who didn't join till much later, you gave your all for this guild. For our family. I could never be that brave."
I took her into my arms as she broke down into loud sobs. I petted her hair as I looked to the other girls. Some were sniffling quietly as others watched, bitter sweet smiles upon their faces. "Levy?"
"What?" she sniffled out, as I felt her tears seep into my shirt.
"Each of those times I wanted to quit. To just give up. You have no idea how hopeless and useless I felt." I admitted as I combed my fingers gently through her hair. "But I had to stay strong. I had already lost people dear to me and I couldn't lose anymore. That's what ultimately made me brave. Protecting my family."
She sniffled loudly, rubbing her face against the front of my pajama top. Probably covering it in snot but I ignored it. "But I want to be brave too."
"Are you kidding me?" I asked, my own eyes tearing up a bit. "You are so brave. You dove right in and saved us from drowning when we were stuck battling that one demon underwater. Not to mention your undercover mission while you worked for the council." I hugged her tightly to me. "Plus you battled Bloodman and protected your man with your magic." I whispered quietly into her ear. "That's something I will always be jealous of you for."
Levy pushed away from me, furiously whipping at her tears. "Do you mean it?"
I gave her a misty eyed smile. "Always." I held her hand tenderly in my lap. "Levy, we all have our own strengths and weaknesses. And we're all brave in our own way."
The others around me agreed with nods and encouraging words. Levy took an offered handkerchief from Evergeen. Dabbing at her puffy eyes. "Well," she gave a choked laugh. "I feel silly now."
Erza reached over and patted our conjoined hands. "Never be embarrassed to tell us your thoughts. We all understand completely."
Mira nodded, wiping her own teary eyes. "Well then, shall we continue?"
I nudged Levy, getting her attention before pointing at my card. "Now watch. I'll end up with something completely embarrassing." She giggled, still a little choked up.
Turning to Cana and Mira, I raised a brow. "Now if I get something absolutely horrible, I'm blaming you two."
They laughed as I reached for my own card. Flipping it over and revealing it to the whole table.
"If you were to die tomorrow, what would be your biggest regret?"
'Well damn,' I thought to myself, not sure whether to be upset or amused at the irony.
I felt Erza flinch beside me and I wondered to myself what her problem was.
Lisanna ooh'd from her seat. "That's a good one."
'Why don't you answer it then.' I thought bitterly.
Erza leaned closer to me, probably trying not to be overheard as she whispered to me. "You can always skip it if it makes you uncomfortable."
I just sent her a brief smile before going ahead and answering. "I'd regret not getting to actually experience falling in love."
Mira sat, her lips pursed in annoyance. Evergreen and Lisanna leaned forward, both sharing a look of shock.
"You mean you've never been in love?" Lisanna whispered, though everyone still heard her.
"Not even a crush?" Juvia piped in, honest surprise shining in her eyes.
I smirked, thoroughly amused with their shock. "Nope."
Cana barked out a laugh, tossing her now empty keg behind her and reaching for another. "I keep forgetting not everyone knows." She popped it open and took a long swig. Giving a small belch, she continued. " But Lucy has never had a boyfriend."
Levy perked up, intent on sparing me some embarrassment. "But she does go on dates!"
Cana just scoffed, brushing Levy's comment off. "We're not saying she doesn't. She's hot. Of course she's gonna get dates."
From her spot at the head of the table Mira smiled coyly. "But she never goes on repeat dates."
They stared at me, waiting for me to say something. Anything. But I couldn't utter a word. My face aflamed. So what if I had never experienced a 2nd date? Atleast I was trying, right?
"If she hasn't found the right guy then that's her business." Thank Mavis Erza was there.
But Erza's words only made Mira's smile more devious. "But you see," She folded her arms delicately on the table. All business. "I think she has found the right guy."
Cana choked on a very generous chug, spitting some out to dribble down her chin. Evergreen hid partially behind her fan to hide her laugh, sharing a rather scandalous look with Lisanna.
Levy, Juvia, and Erza all looked confused.
"If she did, wouldn't she be dating someone now?" Levy peeked at me from the corner of her eye. Probably wondering if I would date someone and not tell her. That'd be impossible though. They should all realize that my love life would be broadcasted throughout Fiore the moment it existed.
Juvia glared at me. "It's not Gray, is it love rival?"
My head fell into my hands, wishing that this night would just end already.
Cana just laughed, slapping Juvia's arm boisterously. "You're thinking of the wrong idiot."
'Oh god.' I whined pitifully.
Mira just giggled. "Now come on Lucy. We all know there's one guy in your life you'd do anything for."
I groaned, head still firmly buried in my hands. "It's not like that and you guys know it."
Lisanna giggled behind her hand. "I don't know Lucy. Some people have been talking."
I peeked at her through a crack in my fingers. "Oh yeah? And what have they been saying?"
"That you guys always eat dinner at your place. You, Natsu and Happy. Like a little family." Evergreen teased, not lowering her fan even an inch.
I sighed, rubbing my face. "You guys don't understand."
Erza laid a hand over my shoulder, making me raise my head to meet her eyes. "Then why don't you explain it to us."
I groaned, grabbing fist fulls of my blond hair in aggravation. "He brought me to FairyTail! He brought me to my family! If it wasn't for him, I'd never be here." I combed my fingers through my hair, pulling it away from my face. "He's my best friend and I'll forever be grateful to him. For everything he's ever done for me."
Mira's face softened. A gentle smile on her lips. "And we'll forever owe him for bringing you to us." She grabbed a slice of cake, ignoring the murderous look Erza shot her at taking the last slice of strawberry. "But you can't convince me there's not more there."
The sigh escaped my lips before I even realized it. "And what more could there be?"
Juvia reached forward, swiping a bit of frosting from Mira's plate. "There was that whole Natsu transforming thing."
I looked at her questioningly. "What?"
Erza mmhmm'd, shooting Mirajane one more incredulous look before picking out a brownie. "I nearly forgot about that. He turned into E.N.D when he thought you had been tortured to death."
'She's lost her damn mind', I thought. "No, he didn't."
Juvia fixed me with a look from across the table. "He was so out of it, he tried to fight Gray-sama to the death. If Erza hadn't shown up, they would have killed each other."
The remaining girls gasped, having clearly not been debriefed on all that had happened during the war. I just sighed, wanting nothing more than to just leave and not come back. 'It'd be pretty messed up if I just abandoned my own home though.'
Mira had insisted on the whole story being retold. So Juvia and Erza both recounted everything to her. Thankfully, no one else but Erza knew about the whole E.N.D. book fiasco. That would have just shot the whole night to hell.
From there, our conversations deviated. Thank god. MIra and Erza had surprisingly moved on to chatting about this years S- Class trials and who they believed would be picked. Cana was busy tormenting Juvia over her months of seclusion with Gray when we had been disbanded. Evergreen had roped Lisanna and Levy into a whole discussion of wedding decorations and honeymoon destinations. In all honesty, it was completely pathetic how easily a gossip session could be derailed. I was thankful for the change in subject, don't get me wrong. But I had honestly thought it would have taken more effort.
Sighing deeply at my friend's antics, I rose from my seat on the floor. Appreciating the free moment I had, I decided to quickly sneak a stronger drink from the refreshment table. Glancing only briefly behind me to make sure everyone was preoccupied.
'Did we even finish our game?'
-TROS-
(3rd person)
Meanwhile, back at the FairyTail guild hall, the 8th guild Master sat dutily on the bar counter. Watching his children drink and be merry as he nursed a drink of his own. Macao sat next to him, relaying the past weeks events. Who had left on missions and who had returned.
Wakaba had just joined them, bringing up the upcoming guild master meeting in Clover, when the guild doors were opened. Gathering everyone's attention on the new arrivals.
Laxus Dreyer strode through the doors, a large duffel bag held over his shoulder. "Hey old man! I've returned!"
From behind him a head of blue hair popped out. "We're back too!" Wendy Marvell walked forward, passing Laxus as he stopped to talk with Bickslow and Freed. A white haired girl with cat ears and a tail accompanying her.
"Wendy! Carla!" Macao bellowed out, raising his own cup of ale up in greeting. "How was the mission?"
Carla sneered at the drunkard distastfully as Wendy giggled. "It went good. Turned out to be a horde of Wyverns. Not a dragon."
Makarov raised a brow. "It took a whole month for some Wyverns?"
Wendy sweat dropped. "Well- you see.."
Carla snorted at her dragon slayer's hesitation. "It would have been done quicker if those bafoons you sent with us didn't make such a mess of things!"
"Carla!" Wendy scolded the exceed.
Master took a large gulp of his ale, before sighing into his cup. "What did they do this time?"
Wendy nervously fiddled with the strap of her bag. "Well when we first got there, there was only one terrorizing the village. We started to investigate like you told us to. But then Natsu." She hesitated, not wanting to anger Makarov.
But Laxus, who returned suddenly to stand beside her, had no qualms. "Natsu toasted the damn thing. Boasted how he didn't even need 'Back up'. Then that night a whole nest of them attacked the village."
Carla folded her arms across her chest, nodding along with the lightning mage's words. "It took the whole month to just figure out why they were attacking only the one village and to take care of the problem."
Macao furrowed his brows, his cup perched at his lips. "What was the reason?"
Laxus sighed, combing his hair away from his face with a tired hand. "When the black wizard altered the terrain in Fiore during the war, a lot of creatures were transported far from their nests. It was just another clean up mission. There will probably be more in the future."
Everyone stilled as a dark look passed over the Master's face. "It seems that even in death Zeref is causing trouble for us."
Laxus just stared at him, not fully understanding how a simple creature relocation could cause so much hatred to gather upon his Grandfather's face.
"Well it's been taken care of so no need getting upset now." Carla purred as she turned away, making her way to a nearby table to sit.
Laxus quietly agreed before excusing himself, disappearing in a burst of lightning. Probably returning home to rest from the long trip.
Wendy stifled a yawn as she readjusted her bag, turning to leave. "If that's all Master, I'd really like to go get some sleep."
"One moment child."
She turned, giving Makarov her full attention. Her gaze curious. "What is it?"
He rubbed his chin as if in thought. "The girls are currently gathered at Lucy's apartment. If you could do me one last favor, could you please join them?"
Carla scoffed from her seat, rising to stand beside her dragon slayer. "The poor child is tired as it is. And you want to throw her to those wolves?"
Makarov smiled at them both gently. "Lucy could really use you right now."
That's all he said, but it did the trick. The utter importance of it became clear to them.
"Did-Did something happen?" Wendy asked, concerned for her older sister figure. Carla stood silently beside her, observing Makarov.
Makarov shook his head. "No, nothing serious. She's just been having a rough time of late and could really use a night with her friends."
Wendy nodded her head, looking to the white exceed to see what she thought. Carla remained staring at the Master. They were silent but many words passed between them. The white exceed seemed to ask a question without saying a word. The look Makarov sent her back answered all she needed to know. Turning to Wendy, she sighed. "Well let's go then."
Wendy looked between the two, having witnessed the whole silent interaction. Not understanding what was said but happy to see her teammates again, she smiled brightly. Following the exceed to the doors.
They were about to exit the guild when Wendy remembered something important. Turning back, she yelled out. Gaining most of the guild's attention. "Master!"
Makarov hmm'd, brow raised in question as he sipped from his mug.
"Natsu and Gajeel had to stay behind so they won't be back for a few more days."
Makarov rolled his eyes, taking a deep gulp of his drink as Macao laughed from his place beside him. "What did those two idiots do now?" Macao asked, leaning back against the bar counter casually.
Wendy nervously played with her fingers. "The magic council showed up right before we left and made them stay behind to rebuild the buildings they had demolished."
A stream of ale sprayed over the guild. Macao, in a clear panic, furiously smacked at the Master's back as Makarov choked and keeled over. A small piece of his soul floated from his gaping mouth.
Carla quickly grabbed Wendy's hand and they swiftly made their escape while everyone was distracted. Fully intent on being far from that place when Makarov came to and went on a rampage.

(Lucy's POV)
The girls had finally settled down and had gone about picking out spots for their sleeping bags. Erza and Levy were debating who should sleep in the bed with me when a knock resonated through the apartment. Everyone shared a confused look. Clearly not expecting anyone.
I made my way to the door, praying for no more surprises. Opening the door I was immediately tackled into a tight hug. Looking down, a head full of blue hair filled my sight.
'Wendy', I thought, petting her hair affectionately.
Looking up at me with those soft brown eyes, she smiled brightly. "Did you miss us?"
'Us?' I looked back to the doorway, finally noticing the small white exceed floating by the door. "When did you guys get back?" I asked, waving Carla inside before closing the door and locking it.
Wendy slid her bag off her shoulder, setting it against the wall. "Just now. Master said you were having a slumber party so I decided to stop by."
I smiled at her sweetly. "Well come on. Grab your bag and we'll get you settled. We were just about to lay down." I led her to my bedroom, hand gently on her back guiding her as Carla followed.
Entering the bedroom, I cleared my throat to gain everyone's attention. "Seems like we got a party crasher." I said teasingly.
Everyone perked up, noticing the young girl in front of me. All at once, they swarmed. Surrounding us as they took turns hugging Wendy and welcoming her back. Carla stood to the side, trying to hide herself as best as she could from the overly affectionate women.
Mira pulled Wendy into what looked like a suffocating embrace. I flinched, already preparing myself to step in and save the poor girl. "Who else is back?" She asked, already releasing the slightly blue faced girl.
Wendy laughed nervously. "Only me and Laxus. The others had to stay behind."
The red sea parted as the girl's cleared, making room for Wendy to move about and take a seat on my bed. "Well why don't you tell us all about it." Erza insisted as she grabbed her sleeping bag from the bed, making her a spot on the floor. And just like that it was decided who would ultimately share my bed. 'Thank god.' I thought with a sigh.
We waited for Wendy and Carla to change in the bathroom and return before we all settled down in our spots. I tucked her in as snuggly as I could before she started her tale.
"So we get to the town and a medium sized Wyvern is pretty much chewing on a citizen's garden. Crashing into nearby structures as it fed." She wiggled, settling further into the covers as Carla settled beside her. "Laxus commanded Gajeel and Rogue to observe it from the shadows. They had just left when all of a sudden a huge explosion went off. Natsu had flew in and set the whole creature on fire."
Erza's eye twitched as the other girls gasped. I personally don't understand their shock. It's Natsu we're talking about. The same idiot who decided flying straight into a whole army and fighting Zeref head on was a great idea. I'm more surprised they didn't take better precautions to keep him from doing anything drastic.
Wendy nodded her head excitedly, already completely immersed in her own story. "He did! It roared and hissed til it was nothing but charred scales! Natsu came back to the group bragging about how easily it went down. Sting started arguing with him how there had to be more to it. Laxus and I had to intervene. We decided to set up shop at the loacl hotel for the night."
Cana sat flipping through her cards, scoffing at Wendy's story. "So you're telling me all 6 of you were called to handle one little Wyvern?" She laughed. "What a waste."
Wendy flailed her head back and forth. "But it wasn't just one! As soon as the sun went down, the whole town was surrounded!"
There were cries of shock and intrigue. Mira leaned forward, prefectly enraptured. "It was another nest, wasn't it?"
Carla scoffed from where she was curled up on the blanket. "There was atleast 50 of them. And judging by the sizes, Natsu had took out one of the younger ones."
Juvia and Lisanna curled closer to one another. Getting thoroughly into the story.
"Go on and tell us what happened Wendy." Erza urged the young girl.
Wendy straightened up, hands out as she started to get into character. "Laxus took only a moment to process the situation. He decided we should devide and conquer. We all agreed and headed out. It took hours to drive them back. Before any of us really knew it, a competition had started. Gajeel, Rogue, Sting, and Natsu took them out left and right. Loudly announcing a body count as they went. Trying to defeat more than the others. The Wyverns suddenly retreated back into the forests. Gone."
I watched as the girls became so invested. Each one hanging onto Wendy's every word. Even Erza had leaned forward, fully concentrated on the young dragon slayer. The sight was almost comical.
"Morning came before we knew it. And without even a nap, we headed after them. Tracking them. Rogue and Gajeel rushed ahead. Scouting the area for their nest. But they found nothing. We spent the next week scouring the whole area. No trace of them was found. Around the 9th day at this town, a lone citizen had showed up at our hotel. Claiming his farm just outside the town limits to the south had been raided. We get there and Natsu instantly smells them. We track them to an old mine shaft a little farther south."
Levy perks up, confusion upon her face. "But these are forest wyverns, aren't they? What were they doing in a mine?"
Wendy shrugged, probably not sure herself. "Laxus and Sting talked to the farmer and apparently they had shown up shortly after the war. We're guessing they had been relocated when the land was distorted. We decided the best choice of action was to locate where their original nest was and just return them to it. So half of us stayed behind to keep them in line and the others searched the surrounding forests. We ended up finding it a week later and in another week we had herded them back to their nesting grounds. By the time we had returned to the town, a month had passed. We were set to leave but the magic council enforcement unit had showed up. They demanded that the damage caused during our first night be repaired before any reward was given. See, we had been so focused on tracking them that we hadn't really taken any damage done into account. Their city hall had been demolished and numerous houses had caved in. Not to mention the countless crops burned to a crisp. In the end, only Laxus and I were allowed to return. The others had to stay behind and fix everything they had broken. All while under the watchful eyes of the council."
There were some snorts and a few giggles of amusement. Erza looked positively murderous. "How did Master take this information?"
Of course she'd be concerned for the Master. Makarov was known to completely freak out whenever it came to the magic council. Even with the new council members being allies, they were still not to be messed with.
Wendy seemed nervous as she hid partially under my blanket. Carla just snorted from her spot. "When we left, Macao and Wakaba were trying to revive him."
Erza just sighed and laid down in her sleeping bag. "I'll give the boys a firm talking to when they return."
Wendy and I shared a grimace as the others settled into their bags, story time already over with. I pulled the blankets up around her, tucking her in snuggly. "Are you comfortable?" I asked her as I settled in beside her.
She smiled gently at me. "Yeah, I'm fine."
I returned her smile with one of my own. "Good. Get a good night's sleep. You deserve it." I brushed her hair away from her face. "I'm here if you need me."
She yawned, a cute blush covering the apples of her cheeks. "Goodnight Lucy." She closed her eyes as the exuastion overtook her. Her soft breathing turning into quiet snores.
I pulled the blankets up around me, looking across the rooms. Taking in each of my friends, who had seemingly drifted off without me knowing.
I was alone.
I looked up at the ceiling, feeling the soft smile creep onto my face. The night had definitely been a lively one. But even though I was emotionally exhausted, I couldn't deny I was happy. Being surrounded by friends, gossiping about any and everything. It had been fun indeed.
But as I laid there, surrounded by sleeping friends, the loneliness was suffocating. Which didn't make sense. I was literally surrounded by people. A certain blue haired dragon slayer curled up against my side asleep. Yet I felt so alone. Maybe it was just those weird thoughts from earlier trying to seep back into existence. I don't know.
Reaching over the snoring young girl, I grabbed the softly glowing potion that sat on my bed side table. Not bothering to get up and find a spoon, I uncorked it and took a generous swig. 'That should be enough.' I thought as I replaced it on the table. Laying back, I let my mind wander. Allowing the black dots to fill my vision. Blackness seeping around the eges, cradling me. Then I finally succumbed.
-TROS-
It was well into the night when I was slightly brought out of the dark void of sleep by screams.
"Lucy!"
Who was yelling for me? Why did they sound so close? I tried to open my eyes but I stayed submerged in the darkness.
"Lucy, you've got to snap out of it sweetie!"
The screaming got louder. I could have swore I heard someone sobbing as well.
'Snap out of what? I'm right here. No need to yell.'
And who in the hell is screaming bloody murder?
I flinched back as a spot on my right arm exploded in pain.
(Crash)
"MIRA-NEE!"
'What just happened?!'
"Wendy! Go make sure Mirajane is okay!"
'What the hell is going on?!'
"Lucy!"
'What?! Why the hell can't I open my eyes?!'
"You've got to wake up!"
'I AM AWAKE! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!'
"LUCY!"
Bright light blinded me as my eyes suddenly snapped open. I cringed back, momentarily over taken by the sudden brightness before I curled into myself.
My body felt like it was on fire. Oh god it hurt. A scream ripped from my throat. Hoarse and broken.
Oh god. It was me. I was the one screaming.
A sob escaped from my lips followed by another ear shattering scream.
'What the hell is going on?!'
The scent of burning flesh smothered me. I gagged between sobs. Was I on fire? Why wasn't someone trying to help me?!
My arm felt heavy like it was made of lead. An almost sizzling sensation racing up it. Then the most horrid sensation hit me. It was as if the very flesh on my right hand was being peeled away.
'WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING TO ME?!'
I felt as multiple arms held me down. Each touch bringing forth more searing pain. My skin raw and tender to the touch.
"LUCY! YOU HAVE TO CALM DOWN!"
Erza. That had to be her. I tried to calm myself but the burning just grew. I flailed around, trying desperately to get them to release me. I couldn't have them burn as well. They had to let go. THEY HAD TO.
Suddenly, the pain escalated to newer heights. Burning and ripping flesh from me. One final scream from my lungs and then I was suddenly thrown back into the void.
Surrounded by black nothingness.
Seeping into my entire being, taking control.
Unable to see or hear anything.
Feel anything.
And just like that, the darkness swallowed me.
-To Rewrite Our Story-
DON'T HATE ME! The story isn't over yet!
When I told you guys it was going to be big, I did not lie. When I started editing it, I gave up after on thirty minutes. I returned of course but that's not the point. And the last chapter was supposed to be part of this chapter. You see why I separated it now? Like holy cow. I'm exhausted. From reading. Never thought that would happen lol
Now the real question is, did you guys catch all the hints and foreshadowing I dropped in there? Honestly I could fill a piece of paper with them. If you got all of them then just look at them carefully. The ending to all this is pretty much written there. You just gotta look at it from the right angle lol
Thinking back to how long this took me to edit, I'm just gonna break up larger chapter from now on. This was a nightmare. I still love how it turned out. Changing it to Lucy's point of view was definitely a good choice if I do say so myself. Like guys. This is over 11,000 words. And I took off some of the beginning. Think about it. I'm still amazed. If there were any mistakes, I deeply apologize. Point it out and I'll fix it as soon as I can.
Anywho! The stage is set. And the players are coming together. What will happen next? And how will FairyTail handle this new development?
Tune in next Friday for the next update! Don't forget to review/favorite/follow!
Until next time!
