"Three weeks you've got to be kidding" she leant against the doorframe
"Not my call X" he leaned back in his chair
"We're in the middle of nowhere how are we supposed to last three weeks?" she screwed her nose up
"We don't have a choice there's a pandemic currently and we're not allowed to dock"
"Right how does NAVCOM expect us to last for supplies I mean have they met 2Dads?" she shrugged
"You sure it's not because you're afraid to be stuck on this ship with me for that long?" he tested moving out of his chair
"Yeah right, I've lasted three years previously I think I'll be okay for three weeks"
"Sure and I'm just supposed to believe you can last three weeks before shore leave" he nodded unconvincingly
"Yes and besides it's 2Dads I don't trust you know what he's like with his practical jokes"
"I'll protect you X" he stopped in front of her
"Right and have the rumour mill going overtime I don't think so" her breath hitched when he leaned in
"I'm sure my cabin is big enough for the both of us" he whispered stopping his head next to hers
"Nice try Sailor" she patted his chest
"Mmm-I love it when you tease me" he grinned placing his hand over hers holding it against his chest
"Stop…" she grinned
"You may be able to last three weeks, me not so much" he rubbed his thumb across the back of her hand
"We made a deal Mike" she avoided his gaze
"Yep" he leaned in slowly
"If we can wait six month's then we'll know we can work together and…"
"Have a relationship" Mike looked down at her lips
"Mike…" she tried to push him back freezing slightly when she could feel his hot breath against her cheek
"Sir" Swain called walking down the bridge,
Kate quickly stepping aside and dropping her hand off his chest before Swain rounded the corner
"Yes Swain?" Mike cleared his throat
"Your requested on the bridge, something about a supply drop?" he looked around the corner
"Right I'll be there in a minute" Mike nodded
"Yes Sir" he turned back around and walked up the stairs
"Saved by the Swain" Kate grinned
"Kate…" Mike grabbed her hand to stop her
"You've really got to stop trying to kiss me" she laughed softly
"I can't help it" he pulled her back towards him catching her off guard he placed the softest of kisses against her lips,
lasting mere seconds he grinned when he pulled back leaving her to catch her breath he made his way up to the bridge
"Bastard" she ran her fingers across her lips.
"X and Buffer I want you to lead this" Mike passed the radio back to RO
"Sir?" Kate stood at the top of the stairs confused
"NAVCOM is sending a supply drop to our location"
"But I thought we were going home Sir?" 2Dads answered confused from his place near Charge
"Afraid not 2Dads, due to the Coronavirus outbreak Commander White has told all Navy boats to stay out we aren't allowed to dock"
"For how long?" Charge piped up
"Three weeks" Kate butted in
"Three… You've got to be kidding!" Swain sighed
"It's not my call guys, I understand you're all upset"
"Of course we're upset Sir, we're going to have to listen to Swaino go all sooky over phone calls with Chloe and missing Sally" Buffer teased
"Shut up, at least I don't go red when Monica's name is mentioned" Swain spat back
"Alright you lot that's enough, Swain will keep his sookiness to himself and Buffer not another mention about Monica" Mike laughed
"And what about you Sir?" 2Dads grinned
"Me?"
"Come on Boss everyone notices after you leave your cabin you have a girly grin on your face" Charge wiggled his eyebrows
"A girly grin?" Mike looked at him confused
"Isn't that just the Bosses normal face" Kate teased
"Very funny" he refused to look at her knowing if he did he'd get that 'girly grin' Charge mentioned
"You're one to talk X" Bomber answered from her spot at the EOD
"What? Are you picking on me now?" she protested
"Yes" everyone answered
"You lot can get stuffed"
"Ohh! Big words" Buffer grinned
"I'll throw you overboard if your not careful" Kate reached across and hit his arm
"Oomph, insubordination" Buffer jumped back
"Alright you lot, X stop beating up the Buffer and go get your kit on for the pickup" Mike tried to hide his smirk
"Is this before or after I beat Buffer with a stick?" she tested
"After definitely" he grinned
"Oi!" Buffer looked back wide eyed
"Sorry Buff you heard the Boss" Kate laughed moving down the stairs
"Thanks Boss"
"Don't worry Buff, where's the X going to find a stick out here?" 2Dads smirked
"That's not going to stop her from pushing me overboard" he shook his head
"Buff just remember" Bomber tried to keep a straight face
"Head in, knee's in and arms apart" Mike winked
"Stuff you!" he called following after Kate,
"This is going to be a fun three weeks" Swain shook his head when Mike sat down in the Captains chair
"It sure is" Mike ran his thumb across his bottom lip.
...
"Boss, how about you stop daydreaming and give us the coordinates over" Kate's voice echoed through the ship
"What does she have telepathy or something" 2Dads raised his eyebrows in surprise
"Yes 2Dads I do" Kate laughed causing everyone on the bridge too look around in confusion
"2Dads you're leaning against the radio you idiot" RO pushed him away
"Aww RO what'd you go and tell him for?" Buffer's voice answered,
"Come six hundred metres to you east X" RO shook his head grabbing the radio
"Copy that" Kate replied
"Over there X" Buffer pointed at seeing the box of supplies bobbing in the water
"That's supposed to last us three weeks with 2Dads?" Kate grinned
"Obviously Commander White forgot Hammersley was cursed with the only sailor is history who eats enough for three people"
"Sir this is the X over" Kate spoke into the radio
"What is it X?"
"Can someone inform 2Dads that he's going to have to cut down on his food" she tried to keep a straight face
"Copy that X, but you'll have to deal with the backlash" Mike laughed looking across at 2Dads who was sulking
"With pleasure if he gets too much I know some places that need cleaning with a toothbrush, see you back on Hammersley" Kate snickered "
See you back here" Mike placed the radio down trying to get rid of the grin off his face.
"Alright you grab one side I'll grab the other" Kate moved down the RHIB when they came to a stop next to the supplies
"You sure, I can get Harpy to help me" Buffer leant across the RHIB
"I'm sure I'll be fine" Kate rolled her eyes
"Alright on the count of the three then" Buffer gripped the corner
"One, two, three" Kate grabbed the corner pulling it up with Buffer her hand slipped on the side of the RHIB and she fell into the water
"X!" Buffer quickly pushed the supplies at the end of the RHIB
"Give me a hand would ya" she held her hand up
"You right?" he tried to hide his smirk
"Not a word" she pulled her soaked hat off when he pulled her into the RHIB
"Take us back to Hammersley Harpy" Buffer patted Kate's back
"That water is bloody freezing" Kate squeezed her hat out
"I don't know it looked kind of relaxing to me" Buffer smirked
"You know if the Boss askes just because of that comment I'm going to tell him you pushed me"
"Harpy back me up here mate" Buffer motioned
"I'm not getting involved mate" he smirked
"Sucker" he muttered holding onto the handle when they got closer to Hammersley.
"It was a simple pick up X not permission to go for a swim" Mike held his hand out for her when she climbed down the ladder
"Buffer pushed me Sir" she gracefully accepted his hand her wet boots slipping on the railing and she fell backwards
"Woah! You right?" Mike caught her bridal style
"Fine" her green eyes met his ocean blue ones
"You going to catch me too Sir?" Buffer looked across the RHIB
"I'm sure your big and ugly enough to help yourself down" he refused to loose Kate's gaze
"You… you can put me down now" she cleared her throat
"Right… sorry" he placed her down to stand his hand brushing across her waist
"I um… I'll just go get into some dry clothes" she pointed past him
"Sure, I'll get 2Dads and Swain to unload the supplies" he watched her leave
"Sir?" Buffer answered stepping foot on deck
"Hmm"
"Sir" he repeated
"Yeah… Yep" he turned to face Buffer
"The X's hat, she left it on the RHIB" he held out the wet fabric
"Right I'll give that back to her" he took it
"Maybe wait until she's changed first"
"Yeah changed…" Mike walked off towards the hatch
"That was…" Harpy stopped next to Buffer
"Weird? Yeah"
"You don't think?" he began saying
"What? As if it's the X and the CO" Buffer scoffed
"I'm just…"
"Well don't the Boss and X are nothing but friends" Buffer protested when Swain and 2Dads made their way over to help unload the supplies.
Looking up and down the corridor Mike quickly slipped in her cabin quickly closing the door behind him and flicking the lock
"Mike! What the hell…" Kate lifted the towel off her wet hair thankful she'd already managed to get dressed and was just standing there in her DPNU pants and a grey shirt
"You forgot your hat" he held it out
"Right and you needed to lock the door for that?" she grabbed it surprised when he pulled her towards him
"I can't handle much more of this 'Professional' relationship" he groaned wrapping his arm behind her back
"Well your going to have to, we made a deal" she raised an eyebrow at him throwing her hat behind her onto her rack
"Kate…." he groaned in annoyance
"Mike…" he breath hitched when he moved towards her neck and began nipping at it slowly
"I can't wait…"
"Six months, it'll be over before you know it" she jumped slightly when his hand on her back slipped under the fabric of her shirt
"Six months is too long" he kissed along her neck
"Too…" she moaned slightly when his other hand ran across her chest
"What was that?" he whispered in her ear
"No… no stop" she placed her hand on his chest pushing him back
"Kill joy" he sighed dropping his head
"We both made the rules Mike, we can't go breaking them now"
"Yes but we made the rules before we got stuck out here" he toyed with her running his hand further up her back
"Your point being?" she tried to catch her breath
"We had a whole romantic shore leave planned and now it's ruined…"
"We can still have that we just have to wait…"
"Three weeks yeah I got it" he pulled his hand out from under her shirt
"I know this is hard…" she brushed her hand across his chin
"Yeah something else will be too if you keep that up" he teased
"Get out of my cabin" she laughed pushing him back towards the door
"Kate" he flicked the lock on her door
"What?" she sighed turning to look at him
"You might want to fix that?" he pointed to her bra that was slipping down under her shirt
"How did…" she quickly moved her hands behind her back
"Magic hands" he grinned
"Get out!" she laughed trying to re-do her bra up
while watching him stick his head out to make sure the coast was clear before he made a quick exit.
Welcome to my new story, with seeing quite a few 'Lockdown' stories I decided to try my own as you can probably tell it's set around season 4 but instead of Dutchy we've still got Buffer,
and instead of Kate and Mike arguing they set a 6 month rule to keep it professional onboard then they know it'll work relationship wise..
