I'm here! And I'm early!
-Look to the bottom for a special note!
Sooooo I guess some of my reviewers assumed my little rant was about them. I just want to correct it. When I mentioned someone who had been sending rude messages I was not talking about anyone who has reviewed. I did get a very nasty private message from an account. I'm pretty sure I've gotten it handled. But no, it wasn't any of you reviewers. I just want to put that out there. I love all of you and appreciate your enjoyment with the story. Please never think I don't appreciate all of you. Cause I do. Immensely.
Now let's get talking review replies!
Ammany- Thank you for the review! As for Levy, has she tho? Hmmmmmm.. ;)
Guest- You can say whatever you want Darlin. I hardly ever take anything someone says in a bad way. I'm just happy you like the story. If English isn't your native language then feel free to comment in your native tongue. Whatever makes you feel comfortable!
Uchida Akira- No need to request. It's already sorta been written lol You just got to remember that most of the guild doesn't know what's happening or why. When the truth gets explained to them, Gray's part becomes more detailed. This chapter shows some of it but one of the upcoming ones really shows us how he takes the news. Trust me. You will not be disappointed. And thank you:) I love when you guys wish me luck with school. Makes me actually put forth more of an effort. :)
Kaisha- J'écris uniquement pour vous les gars. Vous en valez tous la peine. Je suis content que vous aimiez autant l'histoire. Même si vous dites que vous êtes accro. Ça me rend si heureux. Kiss
LRCN- I adore you! I absolutely do! You keep saying I deserve more and just… You're amazing. If you'd like some suggestions for fanfics I have like millions. There's a lot of great shows out there I could suggest as well! And the way it's going so far, I have a feeling Natsu and Lucy will win. We'll just have to wait and see. As for the story, kinda can't forget it. Every chapter is literally just sitting on my laptop. Pretty hard to ignore them. So no worries there! There's literally no way I'm discontinuing this. I may be a bit sporadic with updates but the show will go on! lol Also, this is presumptuous of me, but is English not your first language? You mentioned how it's hard to say in English? If so please feel free to comment in your native language. I work for an Italian based company that has many transactions with foreign countries so my languages are pretty diverse. I promise it's not an issue. Just be yourself and comment whichever way is easier for you! Thank you so much for reviewing and for being a loyal reader!
N.I.- I'm really glad you mentioned the Point of view issue. Like I've told most of yall, this whole story is prewritten. It's done. It's sitting on my computer to be edited and posted. But when I wrote it, I originally wanted to keep it 3rd person. I just think it flows better that way. Cause then you get a broader look at everything. Then I was like well Lucy's point of view would be perfect. Cause this mainly is about her. So I attempted to switch it up. Not very well. I agree on that bit. But I was gonna see it through in her point of view. But then the situation came up, Lucy goes kind of comatose. How the hell am I gonna do her point of view if she's knocked out?! So that's what prompted the other point of views. And my dumbass was like, oh yeah this is perfect. It's not though. It's far from it. The 3rd person that's in the story after we see Lucy pov, that was all me editing it. I hated how a section was first person so I'd changed it. This whole chapter was changed for example. I'm still pretty much battling with the idea. But I am leaning towards 3rd person for all of it. When the story is all posted I may even go back and convert the whole thing. I don't know. It's a work in progress. But I do appreciate you bringing it up. It's the one thing I know for a fact that is wrong with the story. And I'm always looking for good criticism. I appreciate it! Also, I loved your praise. I still have a ways to go and there's room to improve. But to see how someone likes the story and how they get detailed about it just makes me so happy. Thank you and I hope you enjoy this new chapter!
-Apparently I have to put this in here. If English isn't your native language then please! Do not trouble yourself on my behalf! Review in any way you want to! If I have issues translating I can just pull up google translate. It's really not that big of an issue. So please feel free to speak in your native tongue. I enjoy the diversity and it actually makes me happy to know that everyone can enjoy the story! :)
Now onto said story!

-Previously on To Rewrite Our Story-
Clearing her throat, she flipped through the previous pages briefly. It had been very thorough. But there was no way Lucy could have done it. None. So how exactly had she revived someone? Was there more than one way?
The curious chapter she had discovered before briefly flashed through her mind. If the souls were possibly connected through the books, what else was? Settling herself against a sturdy tower of books, Levy reclined back as she began the chapter. A small seed of hope threatening to bloom in her chest.
'Manifestations in the Written Word. Please have what I'm looking for.'
-To Rewrite Our Story-
The sun had reached its peak over the town of Magnolia, sending it's residents running for cover from the blinding heat. The FairyTail guild doors were wide open in the hopes that a soft breeze would appear. But such reprieve wouldn't appear. The guild hall was filled to the brim with its members. A writhing sea of sweat and anxiety. Everyone was on edge, a single loud noise sending them flinching.
And how else would they be? Two of their own had been attacked. How or why, they didn't know. Matter of fact, they all knew next to nothing. A few words spread here and there of burning limbs and screams echoing into the night. It only left them more rattled.
Makarov stood over his children, feet planted firmly on the second floor railing and hands clasped behind him. He looked every bit of the calm, collected leader they knew him to be. But if you looked closer you could see the sweat beaded upon his brow and the small tremble in his lip. Makarov was afraid. Not just for Lucy, although that was the biggest part of it. No, he was also scared for his family. This would be the biggest challenge they had ever faced. And while he wanted nothing more than to leave them in their ignorant bliss of a past time, that time had ultimately come and gone. Now there were only their fears and their worries. And he knew his answers would give them no peace. But his children needed the truth, no matter how horrid it truly was.
Clearing his throat loudly, he waited for the crowd to settle. Slowly, all eyes turned to him. A quiet settling over the guild hall.
He swallowed the lump that had formed in his throat, bringing forth a cough from his lips as he almost choked at the raw emotions swelling forth. But he wouldn't let them overcome him. He had to be strong. For his children.
"I'm sure you've all heard by now at least some of what happened in the past 24 hours." Mumbles and nods rolled through the group before a silence swept the guild hall once again. Their gazes questioning. "During the night a tragedy occured. One of our own was severely injured and she remains unconscious at this moment. Another got away with a broken arm and a concussion." His eyes met those of Mirajane, who sat quietly at the bar. A solemn expression across her face as she stared off unfocused. Gray and Laxus stood on either side of her, looking to him to continue. The feeling was there again, suffocating him. "Word was sent to Porlyusica immediately after the incident. She should return either late tonight or sometime in the morning. We will make absolutely sure our comrades are taken care of. I promise you that."
Not a word. Not even a cough rang through the room. Complete silence. And he knew they were waiting, with bated breaths until the ball dropped. They knew something was coming.
"With all that has transpired, I have decided that there is no longer any room for secrets or hushed words among us. Just know that what I am about to reveal to you was kept secret for many reasons. One being that I was selfish. Selfish in wanting you all to finally enjoy life and to do so I would burden this only upon myself and one other."
A low rumble sounded through his children. Words of outrage and disbelief. His chest tightened. He was so sure he had disappointed them. He had after all betrayed them. They should have known from the start. No matter how much he wished so, there was no going back now.
"During the great war, a piece of information was revealed. Some of you may know but now you all will." His fists clenched and he could just vaguely taste bile. "It came to light that our very own Natsu Dragneel was in fact the one and only END. And the younger brother of The Black Wizard Zeref."
He watched as his children seemed to riot, anger the most prominent in their faces.
"That's impossible!" a voice yelled and with it more followed.
"He's been here his whole life!"
"Wait, didn't he travel through time like the other dragon slayers?!"
"There's no way that Salamander is a demon!"
He waited as they continued to spout question after question. His stomach in knots. His eyes wandered over to the bar. Mira seemed to curl in around her injured arm, her gaze still far away. His grandson stood still at her side, his calm demeanor an impressive intimidation tactic. Of course none of this was really news to any of the slayers so Makarov expected as much. Gray's reaction was more surprising really. His hands clenched tightly at his sides, his posture stiff. Probably mentally reliving a certain interaction with END and all that came with it. This couldn't be easy for him.
Turning his attention back to the raging crowd, Makarov released a deep sigh that he felt deep down in his soul. He raised a firm hand out towards them, trying to placate them before things got too out of hand. After all, this was just the tip of the iceberg. It took a little time and much patience, but soon the room had calmed. It wasn't the uneasy silence from before. Some still grumbled from their spots. But it was good enough.
Lowering his hand, he decided to press on. "I understand your doubts. It is quite shocking. But it's true. However, he is not the fearsome demon he is rumored to be. He's the same exact Natsu you have all grown up with. His demon side was dealt with and poses no threat." He swallowed harshly. There was that damn lump again. "And I'll tell you how that came to be."
Now there was silence. They must have been so confused. The biggest shock was just given to them and then they had to learn it had been handled without their knowledge. After this, there would have to be no more secrets ever again. Of that Makarov was sure. But what he didn't know was how they'd react to this next part. To say he wasn't worried would be the biggest lie of his life.
"You all know that the Black Wizard was ultimately defeated by Natsu." His nerves tingled and he tried to fight off the shivers that accompanied his next words. "What you don't know was that during the battle, Natsu was struck down. On the verge of dying." The gasps and cries were deafening. And the shiver won out, covering his small body in goosebumps. Mira's head snapped up, her eyes focused and piercing right through him. A chill settled over him. "But he was revived!" he belted out. His voice echoed through the guild hall but his eyes never left Mira's. "It was our own Lucy who risked everything to bring him back. Without even a thought to her own life, she altered the book of END. Bringing Natsu back and quelling his inner demon." His gaze moved, settling over the crowd. His voice grew stronger as he let the emotions rush over him. "To alter a demon book is to forfeit your own life! I was told that the pain was nearly unbearable. With the help of Gray's ice, she pushed forward. Saving Natsu and ultimately aiding in the defeat of Zeref!" The room was still, all eyes on him. Here's what they had been waiting for. They all knew it. "But no matter how brave she was that day, there would still be consequences to her actions. Right now, as I tell you all this, she's fighting for her life. There's not much we know for certain, this whole situation is one unknown to us. But what we do know is that it started off with nightmares. Every night since the war she was plagued with them. She barely slept. She barely ate. She started to wither before our very eyes." He lowered his head as he moved across the railing, his mind recounting that first visit with Lucy in his office. "I implored Polyusica to help. She whipped up a potion to help Lucy sleep. Even conducted a thorough testing to discover what was wrong with her. But the results were.. Unsettling."
It may have been midday but the cool air that swept through was freezing. Whether from the tension or just a badly timed breeze. He didn't know. "Somehow, Lucy's blood was altered. Changed in a way that we've never seen before. So Porlyusica set it upon herself to leave and find answers. We thought Lucy would be fine for the time being but we were wrong. Last night she had an attack.." His eyes briefly flickered to the corner where Erza had settled herself. An unwavering statue. "One we didn't really see coming. We don't know how it happened. But Lucy's arm was severely burned before she slipped into unconsciousness. In her pain induced panic she injured Mirajane. We were lucky in the fact that they're both alive. But our fight has just begun. Our first matter of business is to await Porlyusica so she can examine Lucy. Once we've done that, the real work begins." His gaze roamed the room, taking into account every face in vivid detail. Anger. Sadness. Fear. All the emotions were there. But not a single word. The group stunned into silence.
A voice pierced through, disbelief dripping from each word. "You're lying."
He searched the crowd before settling upon a pair of dark blue eyes. During his speech, Gray had somehow moved closer to where he stood. His whole body shaking and it had nothing to do with his magic. Where a strong, stubborn young man usually stood was now a broken boy. Much resembling that small boy he had first met years ago. Fear poured off him in waves, his head shaking in denial. "I used my father's demon slayer magic. I fixed her. She was fine."
Makarov took in the sight with soft eyes, feeling deeply for his child. "But Lucy isn't a demon Gray. We have no idea what the book actually did to her. For all we know, your actions could have just prolonged the inevitable."
The dark haired ice mage seemed to deflate at that. His shoulders sagged and you could see his spirit shatter. It nearly broke Makarov to watch. "But..but I saved her."
His voice cracked and Makarov wished for nothing more than to comfort the boy. Assure him everything would be fine. But this was a moment of truth. And he couldn't go back on his decision. "You tried your best Gray. In the end, you gave us some time. You gave Lucy time."
Gray's shoulders shook as a quiet sob escaped his lips. Turning quickly, he bolted for the guild doors. A steel faced Erza maneuvered around the crowd to quickly follow. Her shoulders set with a purpose as she exited the doors.
Both were long gone before the rest of their family finally wrapped their minds around everything. Mira was a mess, leaned against Laxus as she cried. His grandson held a deep frown as he stroked the takeover mage's hair. Cana was with Macao and Wakaba, not a drop of liquor between them as they sat solemnly. Wendy sat beside a sobbing Nab, her face eerily pale and grief stricken. Makarov mentally noted to check on her once people started to calm down. Lisanna and Evergreen were trying to console a distraught Elfman as they too shed tears. His children were breaking before his eyes. Only little Asuka Connell remained calm although she was fretting over her upset parents. She didn't understand what had happened. And Makarov had to admit that it was probably for the best. She was too young to know this type of heartbreak. Though admittedly they were all too young.
Deciding to give his children a moment, he turned away. Making his way to the infirmary to check on their girl, he kept recalling his words to Gray.
Time.
How many times had it messed up their lives? Seven years lost on Tenrou Island. Gone. Never to be recovered. The Infinity Clock which had absorbed Lucy, threatened the whole world, and threw their lives through time. Back and forth. The Grand Magic Games. Where a hoard of dragons had traveled from 400 years in the past to wreak havoc upon the capital city of Crocus. Where a version of Lucy had come from the future and gave up her life to warn them.
He entered the infirmary, taking in the only occupied bed.
Time.
How much more would it continue to mock them?
How much more did they have left?
'And what about Lucy..' he thought sadly as he watched her sleep. She was still, her skin pale. Each rise and fall of her chest made the weight in his chest that much heavier.
Taking a seat in the chair by her bedside, he gently caressed her hand. Her skin like ice. "You are so loved Lucy. And we miss you. So you've gotta fight this."
She didn't answer him, her body motionless other than her breathing. Eyes closed. But maybe.. Just maybe.. She'd hear him.
"Just think how worried Natsu will be when he returns." The thought caused him to frown deeper. "This will break him. And we won't be able to pick up the pieces."
His other hand came up to cover hers, hoping to at least transfer some warmth and maybe even some comfort. "He needs you." he whispered, his voice cracking as the tears finally came.
"We all do."
-TROS-
(Close to the port city of Hargeon)
"Natsu. Hurry up or we'll leave you!" a blue haired cat chided as it floated effortlessly over the trail.
Said young man was busy rummaging through the local vegetation. "I'm telling you guys. When we first came through here there were at least a thousand berries on these bushes."
"Salamander!" a gruff voice hollered.
Natsu startled, falling back on his rear sending up a small puff of dirt. "Damn it Gajeel. What do you want?" he growled, quickly getting to his feet and brushing his pants off.
Gajeel sneered at him. "Unlike you, I would like to get back home some time this year." He turned on his heel before continuing down the dirt path. "So hurry the hell up!"
Natsu scoffed but followed. "What's his damn problem?"
Happy settled upon his shoulder. "No clue but Lily said the sooner we got home the better."
The salmon haired mage looked over to the black exceed keeping pace with his slayer. "You think they know something we don't?"
Happy made a show of pretending to think about it before shaking his head. "Nah. But don't you think it'd be better to get to Magnolia soon anyways?"
Natsu fixed his best friend with an incredulous look. "Why do you say that?"
"Well you did say you've been feeling funny since last night. Figured you wanted to get back to see Lushi." Happy teased, tittering behind a blue paw.
A warmth settled over his face as Natsu briskly looked away. "That was just hunger. Which is why I was looking for those berries."
The exceed didn't even try to hide his snicker this time. "If you say so Natsu."
Clearing his throat he picked up his pace a bit. Sending Happy into a fit of giggles. "I wonder if she saw the stars last night." he asked, his gaze momentarily darting to the clear blue sky overhead.
Happy chortled from his spot on his shoulder. "Probably not. I mean it was early morning. She probably snored through the whole thing."
Natsu snorted, a puff of smoke streaming from his nose.
Catching up with their other companions, they continued on their journey in relative silence. But Natsu's thoughts were anything but quiet as he recalled the previous night. It had been a breathtaking sight. There was no doubt about that. They had stood there, frozen in place, and had watched until the whole sky was empty. A blank dark garnet colored canvas. Watching it had sent his stomach into knots and had caused an unease to surround him. And it might have just been from traveling without rest but his whole body was sore. Honestly he felt like he had been run over by one of those trains he detested so much.
Just the thought sent a wave of vertigo through him. And suddenly he was more than ready to reach home.
Home.
The word brought on a flash of blond hair and warm brown eyes.
He picked up his pace overtaking his comrades. He barely made out the sound of Happy laughing behind him but ignored it as he practically propelled himself down the dirt path. The large smile on his face making his cheekbones ache but in a good way.
'Just a little while longer Lucy. I'm coming home.'

Also, do you guys do anything to get yourself in the mood to write? I myself have a playlist and I literally just play the songs to set the mood. That's where I get my story ideas. Right now it's playing Ashnikko. I like the beat. Heads up if you check her music out. Kinda dirty. :p Oh and a bonus fact. When I wrote Lucy's night terrors and her attack, I was blasting Panic Room by Au/Ra. Highly recommended. I actually recommend Au/Ra in general. Her music is superb. I got more. I listen to pretty much everything so my playlist is a bit spastic. :D
Now for what you have been waiting for… SO FAR THE COUPLE IN THE LEAD IS…. NA/LU!
This can change at any time. But at the current moment they're in the lead. We will just have to wait till the 5th:)

I can't decide on a fricking name for the oneshot. And I refuse to give away details. So just tell me which do you like better?
A-The Doorway To Home
B-The In-Between
C-The Haunting
D-The Invitation
E-Trust me
I have a favorite. But I don't know. I just can't settle. This one shot has potential and I don't want to give it a stupid name. I want something that will make you all want to read it. Just by the title alone. Is that too much? Well let me know what yall think and don't forget to vote on the couple!
FAVORITE/FOLLOW/REVIEW!
Until next time…
PS: SORRY FOR RAMBLING! IT'S A HABIT AND I"M ALSO HYPER!
