Day 2: Part 1
"Why is it so hot!" Bomber sighed entering the bridge
"Because we're in the middle of the Arafura" Kate paced back and forth
"And why have we been put on bridge duty while the guys get to do backflips off the boat?" she held out a glass for her
"We must have been bad in a past life, it's the only logical explanation" Kate grinned taking the glass
"Hmm" Bomber hummed moving towards the bridge window
"Is this?" she pointed into her glass
"My hidden Cola cordial"
"I knew there was a reason I became best friends with the Chefo" Kate laughed
"Sure and it's not because you found my hidden chocolate stash?" Bomber teased
"What? Never!"
"Yeah the pimple on chin seems to disagree X"
"What!" Kate quickly moved to look in the window reflection
"Gotcha"
"That's just cruel" Kate took a sip of her drink
"This is so unfair, I just want to go for a swim and then sunbathe on the boat deck" Bomber huffed
"Oh that does sound like the dream" Kate brushed her fridge out of her face
"Maybe we can beg one of the juniors to take our watch"
"Bomber…"
"Oh come on X, you me a nice swim sunbathing in our bikini's on the boat deck"
"Personally I don't particularly want to crew to see me in a bikini" Kate laughed
"Why not! I bet you'd look hot" Bomber turned to face her
"Hot what am I sixteen?"
"I bet the Boss would like to see you in a bikini" she grinned
"What?" Kate scoffed watching as Mike did a backflip off the deck into the water
"Well you guys are almost the same age and I'm not the only one who notices the looks between the two of you"
"Bomb, it's the Boss and I don't like him like that"
"If you say so" she teased
"Enough of this, lets just… get back to work" Kate took another glance out the window when Mike stepped onto the boat deck his muscles glistened in the sun
"Mm-hmm" Bomber noticed the way she was watching him
"Is it hot in here?" Kate reached for the closed piece of paper and began fanning herself down
"Not interested hey" she laughed softly when Buffer entered the bridge.
"Ladies" he smiled
"Hey Buff what are you doing here?" Kate continued to fan herself down
"I'm here to relieve you both, the Boss told me to tell you get your swimming trunks on"
"Oh thank god!" Bomber moved towards the stairs
"Ah Bomber" Kate held her hand up
"Oh X come on!" she sighed
"Did the Boss really send you up here?" Kate questioned
"Yes, he said it wasn't fair to not let you guys have a little fun" he stopped next to the Captain's chair
"Sun, Water, Bikini's what could be better" Bomber began moving down the stairs
"Bikini's?" Buffer's eyes widened
"I'm not wearing a bikini" Kate placed the paperwork down
"I don't know I think you'd look pretty…"
"Do not even finish that sentence" Kate held her hand up in protest
"Yes Ma'am" he grinned
"Buffer has the ship!" she called after herself as she walked down the stairs
"Ai Ma'am Buffer has the ship" he replied sitting down in the Captain's chair.
Standing in her cabin 10 minutes later Kate looked in the mirror when a knock at the door made her jump
"Yeah?" she raised an eyebrow looking at her form
"Wow, you look great" Bomber stopped behind her in a rainbow bikini
"I don't know if we should be wearing these" Kate reached for her jacket
"X! Would you stop you look great" Bomber snatched it off her
"We work on a Navy boat this isn't exactly Navy attire" Kate looked down at her Blue bikini that had a rose button between the breasts
"Would you relax we aren't even technically working I mean we're docked in the middle of nowhere because we can't go home"
"Bomber I don't…"
"You've got two seconds to get your skinny arse out on that boat deck" Bomber grabbed the towel and sunglasses off Kate's rack
"Don't I out rank you?" Kate tested her
"At work yes, but we're having some on board R and R" she shrugged
"Bomber" Kate sighed when her hand was grabbed and she was dragged out of her cabin
"Two seconds are up X, and believe me if you don't come the crew will sorely miss out"
"That doesn't fill me with confidence" Kate reluctantly took her towel and sunglasses
"Look we'll be spending most time in the water anyway so just enjoy it when are we ever going to get a chance to do this again?" Bomber questioned
"Fine, but any comments or remarks I'm holding you personally responsible" Kate slipped on her sunglasses
"Wouldn't expect anything less" Bomber laughed moving down the corridor and out the side hatch,
"Well look who finally decided to join us" Mike leant against the railing
"Couldn't let you have all the fun Sir" Bomber placed her towel and sunglasses down
"And here I was thinking Buffer didn't pass on the message" he took a sip out of his water bottle when Bomber moved to the back of the boat diving into the water
"Having a good perve?" Kate grinned noticing Mike's eyes looking her up and down when she pulled out her hair
"Mm-definitely" he smiled when she placed her stuff down throwing her sunglasses on her towel
"Enough staring, it's distracting" Kate moved to stand next to him
"Really?" he slid his hand across the railing to rest on hers
"You shouldn't be allowed to do that" her breath hitched
"Do what?" he curled his fingers around hers
"That, tease me" she took a quick glance at his muscles
"Could it be that you're caving in already X?" he leant in slowly noticing her flushed expression
"Never, I'll win this" she grinned biting her bottom lip slightly when he threw his empty water bottle down
"We'll see" he turned with quick thinking lifting her up
"What are you doing" she tried to wriggle free
"Going swimming" he laughed walking them towards the back of the boat
"Mike I swear to god if you" her head was inches in front of his
"What?" he grinned
"Don't even think…" she began saying before she was thrown overboard hearing a splash next to her when she surfaces wiping her wet hair out of her face
"Nice to see you X" 2Dads smirked from his spot near Bomber
"Oh you'll get yours Mike Flynn" she splashed water at him
"I hope so X" he winked brushing his hand across her waist when he swam past her.
...
"Is that even legal?" 2Dads stood on the end of the boat staring at Bomber and the X who were sunbathing on the boat deck with sunglasses on
"They're just sunbathing 2Dads" Charge shrugged
"Yeah but wearing that…"
"Can you guys be a little less obvious" Mike cleared his throat
"Boss you can't be okay with this" 2Dads pointed
"We get to wear swimming trunks and nothing else why should the girls miss out with not getting to wear a bikini?" Mike looked across at Kate
"Because we are stuck on this ship for weeks on end with no woman interaction"
"Grow up 2Dads" Mike shook his head
"I'm not even sure if I can picture the X as a stern leader anymore" Swain piped up
"What?"
"Well I mean… When has the X ever been this relaxed that she would wear that in front of us?" he rethought his words
"It's been three years, if she didn't feel comfortable and relaxed I'd be worried" Mike didn't tear his eyes away from skimming up Kate's form
"Yeah but…" 2Dads began saying
"Just go back to swimming would ya" Mike could feel his shorts tighten when Kate moved to sit up
"Sir…" 2Dads began saying when Mike pushed him back into the water before finding his legs carrying him towards the woman he so desperately desired
"Yes?" she lifted her sunglasses up and onto her head
"Can I have a word" he held his hand down
"Sir?" she tested him
"Your distracting the junior sailors" he smirked
"And all the others by the looks of it" Bomber rested on her elbows to see everyone staring even 2Dads who'd managed to lift himself out of the water
"Well we can't have that" she grabbed his hand when he pulled her up to stand she dropped her sunglasses down on her towel
"X? Where are you going?" Bomber watched her walk off with the CO
"Refreshments we'll be back" she laughed softly when Mike pulled her into the side hatch definitely not going unnoticed by the crew
"Should we break that up?" Charge pointed
"I'm sure they can be trusted, it's those two I'd be worried about" Swain motioned to 2Dads who'd taken up Kate's spot on the towel next to Bomber.
"So was it just the junior sailors that were getting distracted?" she grinned when he pulled her into his cabin
"Don't do that" he leaned his back against the closed door
"Do what?" she shrugged with a glint in her eye
"That, looking at me with the glint in your eye wanting me to do nothing but run my hands across you're back and tease you till I hear you moan" his breath hitched when she stepped forward
"Well you know…" she ran her hand across his abdomen
"Mmm…"
"There is one way to sort out this…" she stood on her tippy toes "sexual tensions" she whispered bitting his bottom lip
"I'm not loosing this bet Kate" he found himself instinctively leaning down
"You sure about that?" she teased him with her hands resting across his chest
"If anyone's going to cave it'll be you" he walked her backwards
"And yet your little Flynn seems to disagree highly" she laughed running her hand down his chest and stopping at the tie on his board shorts
"You are the devil in disguise" he brushed her damp hair behind her ear
"You'll have to cave eventually, but how about I help you a little" she grinned pulling at his tie
"Definitely the devil" he leaned down kissing her passionately,
groaning when her hand slipped into his shorts he felt her grin against his lips.
"That was just unfair" Mike sighed carrying the tray of drinks 15 minutes later
"Not my fault you stopped it" she grinned
"Yeah we both know it would have gone further if I didn't"
"What?" she stopped to face him
"Oh come on you can't tell me you weren't getting turned on I could clearly see it" he smirked looking down at her bikini top
"It was cold" she scoffed trying to hide her grin
"Yeah sure" he brushed his hand across her back gripping her bum slightly before removing his hand when they walked onto the back deck,
"It's about time, was beginning to think you wouldn't show" 2Dads quickly grabbed a glass from the try Mike was carrying
"We couldn't find the cordial" he cleared his throat when everyone grabbed a glass
"Sorry Bomb had to steal some of your secret stash" Kate leant against the railing next to her
"So long as you didn't show the Boss" she grinned sipping on her own glass
"Don't worry your secrets safe" Kate laughed
"As is yours"
"Sorry?"
"You and the Boss doing the hanky panky"
"Bomber we didn't…" Kate tried to assure her
"Yeah and I'm just supposed to believe your strap came undone itself" she pointed to the tie on her bikini bottoms
"Shit…" Kate looked across at Mike who had a massive grin plastered on his face, she shook her head quickly retying her tie
"It's fine X, everyone knows you and the Boss have a special connection"
"Bomber nothing happened"
"Mm-hmm"
"No I mean I stopped it before it got too far" Kate cleared her throat
"Nobody doubts you X, we all know that you do your job to the best of your ability but all this sneaking around would you just go and get the man" she laughed softly
"It's complicated…" Kate sighed
"Is it just a bit of fun or is there genuine feelings there?" Bomber's question surprised her
"Mike and I have always had a complicated relationship professional or otherwise" Kate sighed
"The guys clearing in love with you X, I mean that girl grin he gets it's only for you; so how do you feel about him?" Bomber watched her carefully break into a soft smile when she took a quick glance across at Mike
"I'm in love with him"
"Then go tell him how you feel" she pushed her towards him, Kate looked on in confusion when 2Dads did the same to Mike
"Hi" he grinned sheepishly
"I get the feeling we're being set up" Kate looked down
"Kate…" he reached his hand between them grasping her smaller one in his
"I…"
"2Dads may be a pain most of the time but he made a good point…"
"Oh?" she looked up at him seeing the unshed tears in his eyes
"I'm in love with you Kate, I love you" he answered softly
"Really?" she grinned in surprise
"Yes, you may be the devil but I'm hopelessly in love with you" he teased reaching his free hand across brushing it against her cheek
"Just kiss already!" 2Dads yelled before getting hit in the chest by Charge
"Shall we?" he leaned down hovering his lips in front of hers Kate placed her index finger on his lips to stop him
"Wait…"
"Is something wrong?" he looked at her confused
"Yeah there is…" she brushed her finger across his bottom lip
"Kate?"
"I love you; I've always loved you"
"You stopped me to tell me something I've always known?" he teased
"I needed to say it, I needed you to hear it" she moved her index finger off his bottom lip he grinned before meeting her lips in a soft emotional kiss,
her hands instinctively came to rest on his face while the crew's claps and cheers were drowned out by the side of the two hearts that were madly in love with one another finally becoming one.
