Day 3: Part 2
Throwing a towel at him Kate laughed when she moved towards the small path that led down to the waterfall
"Would you wait up?" he followed behind her
"What big strong CO can't keep up?" she called back after him
"No I just don't want you hurting yourself because your in a hurry" he stopped when he noticed she'd stopped
"Wow…"
"What?" he asked out of breath
"I…" she placed a hand on his cheek moving his head
"Wow, this place is…"
"Like heaven" she smiled looking across the clear crystal blue water that looked like something out of a painting
"Race you!" she playfully hit chest before disappearing further down the path,
stopping at the end of the path Mike tried to catch his breath while looking around "Kate?" he called out after her noticing her shoes and towel sitting near a nearby log
"Kate?" he called again placing his own stuff down
"This isn't funny" he tried to spot any sign from her
"KATE!" he repeated jumping into the water and frantically swimming to the middle of the river
"Boo" she grinned wiping her hair out of her face
"What the hell! I thought you were…" he answered angrily turning around to face her
"What?" she looked at him confused
"You weren't answering I thought you'd drowned" he reached across placing a hand on her cheek
"There was a underwater cave near the waterfall I was…" she was cut off by his lips on hers
"Don't do that again" he rested his forehead against hers
"I'm sorry…" she placed her hands against his neck
"I don't want to ever loose you" he sighed sadly
"Hey…" she pulled her head back
"That'll never happen"
"Kate…" he wrapped his free hand around her back and pulled her against him
"It'll never happen" she repeated leaning in and kissing him, grinning against his lips when he deepened the kiss.
"Nice of you two to wait!" 2Dads called out from the ledge pulling them apart from their kiss
"Sorry guys, we were closer" Kate smirked
"Yeah it took us a whole hike to get here, when you mentioned over the radio there was a waterfall this one here wanted to check it out" Bomber motioned to 2Dads
"Hey! So did you" he objected
"Would you two stop fighting" Mike huffed slowly moving around the water with Kate in his arms
"This place is like heaven, I've got to admit the hike was worth it" Bomber kicked off her shoes
"Yes thank you very much" 2Dads placed there stuff down with a sly grin
"Whose idea was it to invite those two?" Kate looked back at Mike
"Yours, and they even decided to move their camp closer" he rolled his eyes
"Next time, lets just leave the Navy ship behind" she leant in
"With pleasure" he kissed her softly, a splash of water separating them
"Knock it off you two, there's children present" Bomber smirked from her place next to them
"You can talk" Kate pointed to 2Dads who was behind her
"Yeah we're the children, keeping it PG"
"So exactly how close have you moved your camp because you know, this ones a snorer" Kate playfully hit Mike's chest
"We've actually set it up just on the bank figured what better place then right next to the waterfall" 2Dads smiled pointing back to their gear
"Oh so, your close then" Mike cleared his throat
"Well not close enough to hear anything but yeah close" Bomber smiled
"Great" Mike gave a weak smile
"How Bomb, there's a underwater cave want ah.. want to check it out with me?" Kate moved her arm away from behind Mike's neck
"Kate… What about our alone time?" Mike whispered in her ear
"Relax there'll be plenty of time for that" she kissed his cheek
"I'd love to" Bomber finally answered
"Great, let's go" Kate smiled when Mike reluctantly let his hand go from around her waist so she could move.
...
"I will always hate SCRAN" 2Dads placed his plastic plate down
"Thank you Bomber, you really didn't have to cook for us" Kate scowled at 2Dads from her place next to Mike at their camp
"It's my job Ma'am" she shrugged
"Yeah but were supposed to be relaxing and I mean the Boss and I could have found something"
"Its fine, I'm still waiting for 2Dads to set up our camp" she grinned
"Right good luck with that" Kate nodded placing her half eat stew down on the log next to her
"Hey!" 2Dads protested
"I practically had to disappear before this one would set ours up" Kate motioned to Mike
"Ha-ha" he replied sarcastically
"Did you sort out the sleeping arrangements?" 2Dads cleared his throat pointing to the double sleeping bag
"The X will be taking that, I'll sleep next to the fire" Mike placed his own plate down
"What?" Kate answered surprised
"I'll be fine" he shrugged
"But…"
"So what's the plan for tomorrow?" Bomber interrupted the argument she knew was about to come between her two superior officers
"Maybe some hiking, or more swimming" 2Dads blurted out
"I was talking to the Boss" Bomber hit the back of his head
"Ouch!" he rolled his eyes
"2Dads why don't you help me clean the plates, and we'll leave the girls to talk" Mike moved to stand
"Ah… Sure" he replied confused following suite.
"So… how's things going over here in Superior Ville" Bomber shifted to sit next to Kate
"Ah things are fine" Kate shook her head with a grin
"You sure? You seem a little tense"
"I'm fine, but…"
"Oh no what happened?" Bomber sighed
"I kind of bit his head off about the whole sleeping bag thing" Kate reached for her water bottle
"X…"
"I know and I know he didn't do it deliberately"
"What's changed I mean on the boat you were practically ready to jump him"
"Yeah I know but that was different there were other people on board and I knew we'd get interrupted before it went any further" Kate took the lid off her bottle
"Do you…" Bomber paused
"What?"
"Do you not want to… you know" she coughed
"Discreetly?" Kate asked nervously
"Obviously" Bomber nodded
"I want to tear the guys clothes off, but…"
"There's something stopping you?" Bomber watched her carefully
"Look the Boss and I have history like romantic history seven years ago, and I guess part of me is worried if things go further it'll end the same way"
"Which is?"
"He left, I woke up one morning and he'd disappeared left a note but not a phone call or explanation just poof gone" Kate began to tear up
"That doesn't sound like the Boss" Bomber looked at her confused
"We were different people then Bomb, I mean I get it he was dating his student but the way he left… I guess it just kinda messed me up" Kate answered not knowing Mike was near the tree listening in after he'd forgotten the towel to wipe the wet stuff
"Did you love him? Back then I mean?" Bomber watched a smile sneak onto her face
"Yeah I did, we'd met at the beach spent a whole week together didn't realise he was in the Navy and a lecturer until I walked into the classroom a week later" she scoffed
"Did you keep seeing each other?"
"Yeah"
"Woah Kate McGregor breaking the rules" Bomber nudged her arm
"You know me Bomber, I'm a tight arse XO who follows the rules but when it comes to Mike Flynn…"
"You get sucked in"
"Yeah as cliché as it sounds his 'girly grin' drags me in every time and his ocean blue eyes when they look at me I swear I can see into the depth of his emotions"
"You really are in love with him aren't you?" Bomber asked spotting Mike who shook his head before taking off back towards the waterfall
"Madly and hopelessly in love with the guy" Kate laughed softly
"You know what…" Bomber moved her arm behind Kate pulling her into a side hug
"What?" Kate took a drink from her water bottle
"I think the guy is madly in love with you too" she smiled resting her head on Kate's shoulder.
Hours later it'd just turned 2300 when Kate heard Mike shiver for the fifth time in the past 20 minutes
"This is ridiculous" she looked up at the stars
"I told you before, I'm fine" he cleared his throat
"Mike…" she shifted to look across the fire at him
"Mmm-hmm" he shivered
"Would you stop being stubborn and get in here" she held back the sleeping bag
"Nope" he added another log to the fire
"Just get in here" she huffed
"Kate…"
"Your shivering and it's only going to get colder so grow a pair and get in here"
"I'm a tuff Navy man I can handle the cold"
"And I'm a tuff Navy woman who will beat you with a stick if you don't get in here"
"Kate…" he snickered
"Just get your arse in here because you're not the only one whose cold" she added with a slight smirk
"Fine" he moved to stand
"Good, because I'll never hear the end of it if the CO dies from hyperthermia" she teased when he shifted to lay down in the sleeping bag
"I didn't plan this, I honestly thought we'd be safe sleeping under the stars" he pulled up the zip
"We're on a deserted island maybe it would have been saver to set up tents you know how many wild animals are here" she shivered
"Snakes, spiders" he ran his hand up her arm
"Stop!" she jumped
"Men can be wild animals too" he teased brushing his nose across her exposed neck
"Just keep your hands and your snake to yourself" she turned her back to him
"When you say my snake?" he leant on his elbow
"You know what I mean"
"I've never heard it be called a snake before" he moved his hand across her waist
"What would you prefer me to call it? Little Flynn?" she laughed
"You know what snake sounds better" he shifted to lay down, Kate's hand coming to interlock with his that rested across her waist
"Go to sleep" she pulled his hand tighter around her
"Kate…" he whispered in her ear
"Hmm" she hummed
"You know I'd never leave you right?" he tensed up
"Where… where's this coming from?" she turned her head slightly
"It's just back at ADFA the way I left…"
"Mike…" she let his hand go to turn around
"I was coward, I'd had the most beautiful woman and because of my own selfish needs I left her"
"Why did you leave?" she looked at him sadly
"I was afraid" he moved his hand off her waist and shifted back slightly
"Afraid?" she raised an eyebrow at him
"You were so young Kate…"
"I was twenty-four" she looked at him confused
"Exactly, you'd just started trying to go further in your career and if anyone had found out you'd been having a relationship with your teacher it would have been over in a flash"
"Shouldn't I have been the one to make that decision?" she sighed
"When the position came up for a CO on a Patrol boat I took it"
"Did you ever question… what if I'm making the right decision?"
"I wanted to tell you I really did but you'd fallen asleep and looking at you… how peaceful you were I didn't want to break your heart" he looked at her sadly
"And leaving the way you did you thought that was better? You left me with a note Mike, a note with the word 'sorry' on it how do you think I'd feel about that" she started to tear up
"I…"
"Forget it…" she tried to move back his hand grabbed her around the waist pulling her back
"I can't change the past Kate, if I could I would have never left but I'm here now and I'd give anything to be with you to show you that I'm in this for the long haul"
"Mike…" she placed a hand on his chest
"I love you, I've always loved you and I will continue to love you" he angled his head when he sensed her lifting her own
"Mike…" she whispered their lips inches away from each other's
"Yeah?" he brushed his nose against hers
"I… I want you" she replied in a shaking breath
"Kate…" he moved his head back confused
"I don't want to put it off any longer, I… I want all of you I want you to…"
"Enter my snake into the cave?" he grinned
"Wow… Way to just kill the mood Flynn" she laughed when he moved to hover above her
"Are you sure?" he brushed her fringe out of her eyes
"I lose the bet" she teased moving her hand down and slipping them under his grey shirt
"I lose the bet" he shook his head leaning down he brushed his nose against hers
teasing her into a kiss he hesitated slightly looking into her emotional green eyes that gave into the depths of her emotions
"Mike?" she looked at him confused
"I love you" he met her lips in a passionate kiss,
shifting to lay next to her he ran his hand under her shirt and rested it against her right breast she moaned against his lips when she moved her hands down to his pants fiddling with his zip,
pulling away from the kiss he removed his hand from under her shirt and placed it against her cheek
"Kate…" he tried to catch his breath
"What is it?" she stopped her hands his zip down undone and waiting for her to remove his pants
"Are you sure this is what you want? Because I'm not prepared and…"
"You mean protection?" she moved to sit up
"I told you I didn't plan this" he laughed softly following suite
"Mike… I'm thirty years old do you really think I'd have sex unprepared?" she questioned
"Ah is that a trick question?" he looked at her confused when she moved across to sit in his lap her knees digging into the cushioning of the sleeping bag
"I want this…" she pulled her shirt off placing it behind him
"Wow…" he ran his hands across her bare back stopping at her bra strap
"I'm on the pill" she assured him sensing his hesitation
"Nothing stopping us then…" he unclipped her bra
"Just you being stubborn" she smirked moving her arms as her bra slipped off her form Mike placed it to the side
"It's just…" he moved his head forward resting it against her breasts
"What…" she ran her fingers through his hair
"I don't want to rush this, I want it to be special"
"As special as it can get in the middle of a deserted island you mean" she teased gasping when he bit into her breast
"You know what I mean" he changed his tactics he began kissing along her chest
"Mmm-Mike maybe we can take this… back under… the blanket…" she moaned
"Believe me… Once this is over it'll.. be.. to hot for the blanket…" he mumbled moving his head back Kate noticed his darkened eyes
she grinned before meeting his lips in a fiery kiss all sense of taking things 'slow' disappeared from his mind the moment she shifted her hips and came into contact with his arousal,
groaning against her lips he laid her down before lowering himself above her the friction of clothing driving him insane he pulled away from the kiss ripping his shirt off and lowering his pants he pulled at her shorts pulling her underwear off at the same time
"What happened to taking thins slow" she teased when he threw her clothes behind him shifting slightly so his pants fully slipped off
"Fuck slow" he grinned kissing along her thigh he stopped next to her scar running his tongue along it he continued to kiss up her body before meeting her lips in a passionate kiss
and finally lowering himself into her both of them groaning at the contact before he started moving in slow movements teasing her,
Kate wrapped her leg around his waist her hands brushing through his hair all thought of Navy rules gone from her mind the moment Mike entered her.
