Day 4: Part 1
Opening her eyes slowly Kate grinned when she looked across at the sleeping face of Mike,
sighing contently she froze when she heard a strange noise
"Mike…" she whispered trying to get his attention
"Mike…" she tried again this time moving a hand across and placing it against his bare chest
"Hmm" he moaned shifting closer
"Now is not the time for another round, there's something here…"
"Not even for a round four" he teased when the sounds got closer
"I'd say no" a deep voice replied
"Kate?" Mike questioned opening his eyes to see her frozen in place
"Get up" the voice answered
"Ah… we can't" Kate cleared her throat
"I said get up" he shifted Mike noticing he had a gun pointed at them
"Um… we aren't exactly in the appropriate attire to be getting up" Mike held Kate's hand in place on his chest
"Here" he threw their clothes at them before going back to pointing the gun
"Who are you?" Mike pulled his pants on
"Who I am doesn't matter, what I want to know is why the Navy are on my island?" he watched as Kate pulled her bra on
"Hey!" Mike huffed pulling the blanket up to cover her
"I'm only human, now answer the question" he shook his head
"We aren't Navy" Kate pulled on her shirt
"Sure you aren't then why is the Navy sitting just below the horizon?" he questioned when Kate moved to stand after pulling on her shorts
"We're just camping" she insisted while Mike finished getting dressed
"Right and I'm expected to believe you're the only ones here"
"Have you seen anyone else?" Mike arose
"If you're not Navy how'd you get here?" he waved the gun
"A friend, he dropped us off yesterday before going back" Kate reached for their shoes
"What are you doing?" he stepped forward
"Just getting our shoes, if your wanting to take us I'm not walking barefoot" she protested passing Mike his shoes before attempting to pull on her own
"Maki, there was a camp near the waterfall but no one in sight" another man's voice interrupted
"So you're not the only ones?" he turned back to look at them
"I swear we came here alone" Kate answered nervously when he stepped forward
"If I find out your lying to me last night will be the last time you two will ever get to fuck each other" he pushed the gun into Kate's neck
"You were watching us?" Mike gritted his teeth
"Like I said I want to know why you're on my island, I was made aware of potential threats the moment you arrived" he turned to look at Mike
"Leave her alone" Mike tried to step forward
"Ah watch it, or your pretty little slut here gets it" he pushed the gun harder against her neck
"Mmm-Mike" she whimpered
"What do you want?" he held his hand up stepping back
"To know what you saw"
"Saw?" Mike questioned
"The drugs! What did you see?" he continued to hold the gun against Kate's neck
"What drugs? We've been here for a day and all we did was go swimming at the waterfall"
"Yes the drugs!"
"The cave…" Kate muttered
"You went into the cave?" he asked moving to stand right in front of her
"I… I didn't go in it was blocked…"
"If your lying to me" he stepped forward running his hand across her chest she whimpered at his touch
"Get your hands off her!" Mike coughed in surprise when Maki moved aside punching him in the gut he doubled over
"Arlo, tie them up" he spat stepping back he lowered the gun from Kate's throat
"Mike… are you okay?" Kate immediately placed a hand on his cheek she moved her head down to his level
"Mmm-fine" he groaned holding his stomach
"He'll be fine, if we wanted you dead we would have done it while you were sleeping" Arlo growled grabbing Kate's arms and pulling them behind her back
"Why are you doing this" Kate tried to struggle before Arlo moved and began tying up Mike's hands he groaned at the pull in his stomach
"You don't belong here" he wiped the sweat off his brow before pulling his gun out from the back of his pants
"What's that even supposed to mean" Mike questioned
"Move" he pointed the gun into Mike's back
"Lets go, we need to arrive before the Boss" Maki grabbed Kate arm and pulled her towards the path she took a quick glance back at Mike who nodded reassuringly.
...
"Boss, X?" Bomber called when they walked along the path
"I bet the lazy buggers are still in bed" 2Dads teased
"Kate?" Bomber stopped next to the sleeping bag
"She in there?" 2Dads asked holding his hand over the gone out fire
"There's no one here"
"It's cold" he looked across at her
"2Dads" she picked up the radio from next to the bags
"Now that's not like the Boss to leave the radio behind" he moved to stand up
"Somethings not right" Bomber looked around
"What is it we've learnt, anything out of place footprints, wait…" he motioned to a piece of rope on the ground
"2Dads…" Bomber pointed
"It's their tags, why… why would they be half buried?" he sifted through the sand
"We need to radio Hammersley" Bomber took the tags off him brushing the dirt off
"This rope… Was it here before?" 2Dads questioned
"What?" Bomber stood there frozen
"The rope" he pointed
"Ah no I don't… I don't think so"
"Bomber we'll find them it could just be one of the Bosses cruel jokes" 2Dads moved over to her
"The Boss wouldn't do something like this for a joke" she teared up
"Hey we'll find them" he placed a hand on her cheek
"2Dads…" she looked past him
"What is it?"
"I…"
"What!" he turned around
"Is that…" Bomber asked confused
"The X's?" he moved towards the path
"Um if that's there then what… what's she wearing?" Bomber followed when 2Dads picked up a pair of underwear with a stick
"She could still be wearing a pair I mean we did pack for a week" he threw them on the sleeping bag
"Never picked her for a lace kind of person" Bomber grinned
"Yeah, um you got the radio?" he cleared his throat
"Yeah" she held it out for him
"Hammersley this is team X-Ray come in over" 2Dads answered into the radio
"This is Hammersley reading you loud and clear 2Dads" RO replied
"Ah can you get Buffer or Swaino for me RO?" he asked hopeful
"Yeah go ahead 2Dads" Buffer's voice answered
"We've got a bit of a situation over here Buff, might want to send a search party"
"A search party? What's going on over there?"
"The Boss and the X seem to have disappeared" 2Dads looked across at Bomber who was holding back the tears
"Say again 2Dads" Buffer asked confused
"The Boss and the X have gone missing"
"Are you sure they just haven't gone off for some privacy?" Buffer snickered
"Given the way things were left it's possible we aren't the only one's on the island"
"How far inland are you?" Buffer motioned to Swain
"About three clicks inland, hard to miss we're next to the local waterfall"
"We'll be with you in fifteen until then just lay low, if there are other people on the island it's possible they might come back" Buffer sighed
"Copy that Buff, give us a holler when you arrive we'll find somewhere to hide"
"Hammersley out"
"Bomber?" 2Dads looked across at her to see her running her fingers across the dog tags
"What if they're injured?" she sniffled
"We'll find them, now come on we need to lay low" he placed a hand across her back.
Across on the other side of the island Mike looked across at Kate who was struggling to walk
"You okay?" he whispered moving closer
"Where are they taking us?" she asked sadly making sure they didn't hear them
"I don't know" he sighed noticing the pain in her eyes
"Are they going to kill us?"
"Kate…"
"The cave… it had a false back" she bit her bottom lip
"What?"
"What are you two gossiping about?" Maki pushed the gun into Kate's back
"Nothing" Mike shook his head
"If you keep it up, there'll be consequences" he moved his free hand across Kate's buttocks squeezing it so she jumped slightly
"Keep your hands off her" Mike stopped turning to face him
"Touchy, she your wife?" Maki grinned
"If you touch her again" Mike huffed
"Mike… I'm fine" Kate gave him a sad look
"Just keep your hands off her" he gave Maki a stern look
"Hands off" he held his arms up with a smirk
"Maki we need to keep going" Arlo piped up looking down at his watch
"Yeah yeah, get moving" he motioned his gun
"Would you stop antagonising them" Kate sighed when they continued to walk again
"He keeps touching you with his filthy hands I'll keep telling him off"
"Mike…" she shook her head
"Kate… about the cave" he whispered
"You seriously want to talk about that now?"
"Why wouldn't you mention anything?" he took a quick glance back at Maki who was pre-occupied talking to Arlo
"We weren't exactly in the discussing mood last night" she raised an eyebrow
"If you knew something was up you should have told me, if not as Mike at least as your CO"
"Seriously your pulling rank on me right now?" she stopped to look at him
"Kate I…"
"I said enough talking!" Maki skidded to a stop
"Can we have a minute?" Mike sighed
"What do you think this is? A fun stroll through the rain forest" Maki laughed
"Please, her feet are hurting just a few minutes to rest"
"Is that true?" Maki looked across at Kate
"Yes, thongs are not designed for a long walk through the forest" she gave him a sad look
"Two minutes and then we're moving again, your lucky you've got a beautiful face" Maki winked before turning to talk to Arlo
"If something happens I need you to know…" Mike sighed shifting positions so his back was too Maki and he was in front of Kate
"What? What is it that could possibly be so important" she huffed
"Your mad…"
"You're damn right I'm mad, you're not the only one in this position Mike"
"Kate…" he tried to interrupt her
"Using rank on me for something I clearly didn't have the time to tell you it's unfair…" she whimpered in surprise when he placed his lips against hers kissing her softly
"Last night, I don't regret it and if something happens I just… I needed you to know that" he whispered pulling away,
leaning back in Kate kissed him passionately before kissing along his cheek and stopping next to his ear
"I love you…" she replied trying to hide the sadness in her voice he rested his cheek against hers as a form of a hug wanting nothing more than to desperately protect her but knowing she'd kill him for even thinking it.
"Alright you two enough, let's go" Maki pulled them apart
"How much further?" Mike sighed at trying to keep his cool when Maki placed his hand across Kates back
"We'll get there when we get there, and just for that disgusting display of affection your lovely young woman here can walk with me" Maki walked her forward
"Let's go big fella" Arlo motioned from next to Mike
"Why are you doing this, you don't seem like the type who enjoys this sort of stuff" Mike asked softly
"It's the job, and do it correctly you get payed big bucks" he shrugged
"Your married, surely you can't condone the way he's treating her" Mike motioned to the wedding ring of Arlo's finger
"You don't ever cross Maki because if you do you'll end up with more than just a punch to the gut trust me"
"What does that even mean?" Mike looked at him confused
"He won't hurt her, not as long as your around" he assured him,
looking forward at Kate and Maki all he wanted to do was hurt him for even laying a finger on his Kate.
(Alright so one last update for you tonight as its currently 1:30am here and I couldn't stop writing, and I'm pretty sure I would keep going if I don't cut myself off...
So just to be awfully cruel because I love you guys I'm ending this one on a cliffhanger !
