Part 3: The Underground City.

A female scientist who is sitting by the desk is writing her personal journal to update her research. Below the paragraphs are the same thing in her blog.

Caution: Believe her story or not is up to you.

Let me give you some tips. If you want to live in a big place like Jump City, there are rules that you need to be aware of.

The first rule is to not go out alone at midnight. If you live in a more populated area like the Jump City's Times Square, the police will patrol around that area twenty-four hours a day. There is a possibility that you could get involved in some dangerous crimes, but there is nothing to be afraid of as the Teen Titans will protect you from all kinds of harm. However, if you go into a less populated area, for example, an abandoned work site, you are on your own. You need to buy a weapon or learn the art of self-defense to protect yourself. The local authorities cannot control such places, so you better keep your eyes open to look out for trouble.

The second rule is to not buy this new drug called Death Stick. Death Stick is a highly addictive illicit substance that can shorten the user's life. If you take one of these Death Stick for curiosity, it will be very hard for you (especially for youth) to shake off the addiction without medical help. Jump City's government are putting their effort to locate the Death Stick seller and maker to put an end to this once and for all. However, no matter how much they accomplished in apprehending the drug dealers for the last two months, there is no end to this new threat. So, Jump City's government practiced a new act to all residents to purchase legal drugs from a pharmacist that only locates in populated areas. That way, they could reduce the number of people buying Death Stick in less-populated areas.

The third rule, the most important rule, then the other two rules: Not to visit the Underground City. Why? Well, let me tell you the reason. The people who live above the Underground City consider the lower levels to be a very dangerous place. They think the Underground City is full of gangsters, criminals, and exiles. The city's government tried its best to eradicate the threat that lurks in the underground city. They even sent their best police force to take care of the threat. However, the consequence of sending their best men into such deadly places results in receiving many reports of MIA and KIA. This gives a big headache to the governor and the chief of police of Jump City.

But is it true? Is the Underground City a dangerous place to visit on your own or with your friends? I will explain to you all by sharing my experience in staying in the Underground City.

Imagine you were granted a chance to stay in the lower levels like me. You felt afraid at first. But as you have gotten used to living the Underground City's lifestyle, you slowly embraced their culture, their society, and their diversity. Through experiencing this precious opportunity, you came to realize that the Underground City isn't a dangerous place to live.

People who live above the lower levels misunderstood that the place is a hot spot for criminal activity. That is not true. It serves as a welcoming home to immigrants from around the "galaxy." Oh, did I say "from around the galaxy" instead "from around the globe"? Well, that is true! This is the only place where you can meet aliens on planet earth! Aliens from Outer-Rim Territories, Mid-Rim, Core Worlds, Vega System, and many other star systems and galaxies that I lost counts!

I was so surprised that there are so many aliens living outside the Milky System. At first, I was skeptical that I can meet aliens below Jump City. My colleague who has lived longer in the lower levels than me said, "You should go to Underground City for further studies. It is an eye-opener.", I didn't believe his words at first because there is no way you can go down where the main entrance is heavily sealed by the police force. But somehow, he has a connection who can take us to the lower levels. I cannot tell who he is because I don't want to get into trouble with the police, so I must protect his identity from harm.

Anyway, after staying in this place for a while, I have learned that there is no government in this area. Most aliens live in their ethnic communities. In each community, they have their own rules and councils. I have heard that the council serves as self-government for them. I don't know why, but my colleague said they are following the Galactic Republic's democracy system... but who knows. And what is the Galactic Republic? Is it some kind of government that controls the galaxy outside the Milky system? I have so many questions to ask.

Oh yeah, about the police officer that went missing in action. That is also not true. They are alive. Pretty alive. They mostly hang out with the Twi'lek dancers.

For those who don't know what Twi'lek is, they are near-human species whose head has a distinct pair of shapely prehensile tentacles that grew from the base of their skulls. They are called lekku. What are lekku? Well, basically they are advanced organs that support their brains. They use lekku to communicate with other species. Something like telepathic communication, I think.

Also, the colors of their skins are very different too. Most of them have blue, green, orange and rarely tan, black, and white. They were very nice when I asked them to sit for an interview. I love their culture a lot. Kinda reminds me of the Native American culture or African culture. They are nomadic people and often immigrate to the other galaxy to start their life. When I asked them, "Do you like earth?" and they replied, "Yes. It reminds us of our home planet, Ryloth." I wanted to ask more about their home planet, but they didn't want to. I think something bad had happened over there. Hmm…

Well, I think that's all I want to write about… oh, wait! I forgot to mention about the police officer who got killed in the action. I wanted to deny that fact, but it's true. I've seen so many officer's bodies piled up by the local's body collector. They use this technology called Carbon-Freezing to freeze the body into a solid-state. Once the bodies are frozen, they transport in a strong metal alloy to their guild. These body collectors mostly serve as a vigilante in the Underground City, and they are ferocious in killing people.

I think the guild is called… The Bounty Hunter's Guild.
