Part 4: The Bounty Hunter's Guild

(Inside the Bounty Hunter's Guild)

The Bounty Hunter's Guild is a special guild where they regulate the bounty-hunting trade. It is led by a guild master who holds members to The Bounty Hunter's Creed. The Bounty Hunter's Creed is a set of unwritten rules that govern the conduct and behavior of each bounty hunter. For example, they grant you to slay another hunter to get his or her bounties and can steal another hunter's bounty to gain more profit. However, you do not have permission to ask the clients about their bounties once you delivered it to them. If you dare ask the client without knowing your position, you will lose your bounty hunter license. It is rare to find one on Earth, but around the galaxy, it is very common to find.

So, inside the building, many types of bounty hunters are having drinks at the guild's cantina: Human type bounty hunters, Humanoid type bounty hunters, Beast type bounty hunters, and even Droid type bounty hunters. It is very refreshing to drink beverages after hunting down your bounties. Many hunters love to brag about their hunting experience to the bartender, their fellow hunters, rookies, and the sexy ladies. You can almost, almost listen to their thrilling stories as you went near to them to ask him/her for more.

"That's amazing, sir! Do you have other thrilling stories to tell us?" the young hunter asked.

The veteran took a shot from his glass and smiled happily at the rookie's question.

"Of course! Let me tell you another story about my hunt in Alderaan. Have you been to Alderaan?" the veteran asked.

The young hunter shook his head. "Umm, no, sir."

"You haven't?! You should go there! Why Alderaan is one the most beautiful place to go rookie! But... you may not like the people who live there. Most of the residents in Alderaan are nobly family. I didn't like how they treat me when I was there. Trying to make me feel miserable. Oh yeah~, their social class is better than us. Heh, who gives a sh#t. Anyway, during my hunt in Alderaan, my client asked me to kill the notorious nobleman who has been giving a bad name to house Ulgo, Count Xis Ulgo." He proudly told his bounty mission to the younger bounty hunter as he took a shot one more.

The young hunter widens his eyes when he heard the name of Xis Ulgo. "Count Xis Ulgo?! I heard he is one of the most important assets for the Sith Empire! He has supported the Sith Empire's army during the Battle of Alderaan. Since then, he became an influential nobleman to support the Imperial's ruling system in Alderaan. Why was he needed to be killed? Also, didn't he hire two Trandoshan bodyguards to protect him? How did you kill them too?" the young hunter asked.

Trandoshan are large, bipedal reptilian humanoids from the planet of Trandosha. They have sensitive eyes that can see into the infrared range and the ability to regenerate lost limbs. Their bodies are heavily built and much stronger than humans and humanoids. However, unlike some other reptilian humanoids, they don't have tails, which makes them distinctive to notice.

"Well, who knows? I am not allowed to ask the clients rookie. It is written on the Bounty Hunter's Guild. Anyway, killing the Trandoshan bodyguards was very easy. First, you bring up this knife," he showed his giant vibroknife. The length of his vibroknife is as long as an earth's machete.

"And you stabbed into their eyes until they come out! Once you do that, eat it!"

Vibroknife is a weapon that makes the blade to vibrate. The vibrations allow the user to deliver a heavy blow into a huge, gruesome slash, thus making it a far more effective weapon in close combat.

"Eww… eat it? Are you serious?" the younger hunter didn't like the sound of it.

"Yeah! You need to show to your target there is no one who can stop you! If you want to be a terrifying hunter, do it!" he smacked the young hunter's back to give him the courage. But it results in the rookie's back to have pain and anxiety.

"Ow. And… okay." he nodded it reluctantly.

"Hey, don't you worry about it. Trandoshan aren't that tough, ya know. They are easy to kill!"

"Maybe. It might be easier for you. But you haven't met a true Trandoshan warrior who had killed more than a dozen Wookiees!"

When the Trandoshan hunter insulted the veteran with a hiss, the young hunter sensed a murderous intent from the alien. The young hunter slowly made a big gulping sound as the green reptilian humanoids walked closer behind the veteran.

For those who don't know about Wookies, they are tall, hairy humanoids that live in a tree on their home planet Kashyyyk. Their look has some similarities with the earth's unidentified monster: Bigfoot. However, unlike with their far-far "relatives", Wookies are usually gentle to other races. But if you dare to provoke them too much, they can become a ferocious warrior. Also, Wookies are known to be an archenemy for the Trandoshan. Both humanoids hate each other a lot.

"Humans love to brag about the hunt they have done. But they are not very confident in dealing with Wookiee. Heck, they can't even kill a baby Wookiee!"

The veteran looked back at the lizard alien and gave him a glaring look. "You think we are cowards? And besides, I have hunted down a Wookiee before!"

"Like when? How many years ago was that?"

"… Three years ago."

The Trandoshan hunter laughed loudly when he heard three years ago.

"Ha! Three years ago?! That is so pathetic! Humans are very weak against other races. They don't have the confidence to continue to hunt them down!"

"Maybe because you haven't met the best bounty hunter in your entire life, lizard." The veteran insulted back.

"The best bounty hunter you said? Such delusion you have, human. I bet you have been living under the asteroid for many years where hardly somebody can notice your achievement!" And the Trandoshan did the same thing.

The veteran got very irritated by the alien's insult. "DO YOU WANT ME TO SKIN YOU ALIVE, REPTILE?!" He glared at the reptilian humanoids with a killer instinct.

The Trandoshan looked down on him and smirked. "I AREN'T CALLING YOU FOR DINNER, HUMAN!"

This got the attention of the other hunters. Rather, they want to stop the fight; they want the fight to happen. They don't care about causing havoc or destroying things in the guild. All they want is to see something entertaining that contains a blood bath!

"Kill! Kill! Kill!" the other hunters chanted. Instead, encouraging the two hunters to fight, they want the duo to kill.

This made the young hunter worry it a lot. "Oh, no! I have to stop the fight!" He put his drink on the table immediately and quickly dashed to the guild master's office to warn his boss about the fight.

But that didn't happen. Because a sudden burst from the entrance prevented the outcoming fight.

BANGED!

The two hunters and the audience faced their attention at the entrance. They saw a mysterious figure standing by the door. He slowly entered the guild while holding five sack bags in both of his hands. When he walks, you can hear a heavy stomp from his footsteps. Either his weight is heavy, or it is his habit to walk like that, we don't know. But what we know about him is that everyone seemed to be afraid of him.

He approached the cantina and asked the bartender. "Is the guild-master here?"

The bartender replied. "He never leaves his office." He pointed at the guild master's office.

"Thank you." He thanked the bartender and walked towards the office.

But before he opened the door, he looked back at the two hunters whom they were about to start a killing spree.

"What were you two doing?" he asked them with a glare.

"Oh, um, nothing! Nothing at all!"

"Yes! Nothing!"

The two hunters replied to the mysterious hunter as they slowly stepped away from him.

The young hunter never saw them being afraid in front of the mysterious hunter. He quietly thought to himself.

Wow. I have never seen them being nervous in front of this person.

"Hmm. I hope you two are not planning a fight in this guild." He said.

The two shook their heads side to side as they want to confirm that there is no fight at all.

"Well good. Behave yourself in the guild then." And he went into the office as he gave the young hunter a quick glance.

"…"

When he entered the office, everyone soon went back to the things that they were doing. The young hunter looked at the two hunters. He saw them apologizing with each other as they resume to have a drink at the cantina.

"Wow… what was that? Who was he?" he quietly asked.

"You don't know him, boy?" the elderly bounty hunter replied. He wears a blue color eye-patch on his right eye.

"Umm, no I don't sir."

"How long have you been in this guild?"

"For two weeks."

"Two weeks? Hmm, well that is not strange when you don't know who he was." He brought up a metallic pipe to smoke some space drugs.

"Do you know who he is?" the young hunter asked him, as he sat next to him.

"I do, boy. Listen carefully." He blew out smoke from his mouth as he explained the mysterious hunter.

"He is the guild master's, right-hand man. When the guild-master need someone to take care of the dirty job which no one wants to, he will usually ask that hunter."

"Really? What type of dirty jobs does he accept?" he curiously asked.

Then an orange female Twi'lek bounty hunter butts in their conversation. "Jobs that heavily influence the tension between the Republic and the Empire."

"R-Really?!"

"Yeah, kid. I heard he had killed important people like Sith Lords, Jedi Guardians, and even… three corrupted Republic Senator~."

Hearing this made the young hunter's heartbeat quickly. Is this a sign of being afraid? Or was he amazed at the mysterious hunter's achievement? He doesn't know. Only time will tell. Then, he slowly leaned forward to the two senior hunters as he quietly asked the hunter's name.

"So… what is his name…?"

The elderly hunter leaned forward and answered the young hunter's question.

"His name is…" he whispered into the rookie's ear which made the young hunter's face to go speechless.
