Part 5: A Worthy Challenge.

Inside the guild master's office, the mysterious hunter put down his delivery on the table. He slowly opened the bag to let his boss see inside.

The guild master leaned forward and looked inside the bag with great interest. He wondered if the hunter succeeded in his mission. But he should not have doubted his employee. Because his employee is the best bounty hunter he could ever have, since the establishment of the Bounty Hunter's Guild in the Underground City. He smiled happily when he saw the gift.

"Hahaha! Well done, hunter! You did a great job, getting these bounties!" He cheered as he clapped his hand slowly.

"…" Despite getting praises from his boss, the hunter just stood there silently.

"What? What is it? Not happy?" the guild master asked as he wondered if there is something wrong with his employee's mood.

The hunter leaned forward to his boss as he placed both hands on the table. He slowly opened his mouth and asked him with a suspension of disbelief. "Are you sure these people 'were' the finest military personnel on Earth?"

When the guild master heard the hunter's question, he wanted to cover his face because it was such a stupid to be asked about.

"Why, of course! The client who gave me the bounty told me that these people survived countless deadly battles! Before they committed a serious war crime, these soldiers received two medals of honor from the city governor. That's right, hunter. TWO MEDALS OF HONOR! No one could get such an honorable prize from a high-ranking politician, you know! So, they must be the finest military men! You got a problem with it?" the guild master asked, right after he answered the hunter's question.

The hunter sighed when he got the answer. It made him very disappointed.

"Problem? Yes... I have a problem. What you just said is full of lies."

"Full of lies? What do you mean by that?" The guild master asked again.

"It's what I meant. Before I came to this place, I have hunted down many dangerous prey in the Outer Rim. The Migrant Merchants Guild, The Black Sun, The Justicars on Coruscant. And even the corrupted Republic senators. The Kintan Kings on Nar Shaddaa, including their supporters from the Imperials Intelligence. I also killed three Dark Lords, five Jedi Masters, twelve Padawans, ten Acolytes. And the deranged leader of the Revanites, Tari Darkspanner."

He counted the numbers of his prey during the hunt in the Outer-Rim.

For those who don't know about the Revanites, they are a very secretive organization that worships a powerful Force-user Revan. Revan was once feared as a powerful Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Raven and was also once praised as the Prodigal Knight. He was one of the few Jedis, who turned into the dark side but returned to the light side. The people who live outside the Outer-Rim know who he is. Some of them admire him but most of them fear him. Why do many people fear him? It's because of his deranged cult group, the Revanites.

Tari Darkspanner was the founder of the cult group. During her Sith training on Korriban as an Acolyte, she accidentally found the forbidden book written by Revan. She was impressed by Revan's teaching and sought to cleanse the Sith Empire through terrorism. This made the citizens of the Sith Empire feel unsafe from the cult's surprise attack.

So the Dark Council, the ruling party of the Sith Empire hired bounty hunters and mercenaries to kill Tari Darkspanner. For those who successfully killed the deranged leader was rewarded 5000000 (five million) Imperial Credits. That's a lot of money for a bounty hunter whose average income is about 3000 (three thousand) Imperial Credits.

However, not many bounty hunters and mercenaries were very lucky to kill Tari Darkspanner. Most of them were easily slaughtered by her lightsaber and her force lighting. But the mysterious hunter outsmarted her by using his wits, his skills, and his gadgets. Because of that, he was able to collect her head.

But he didn't care about the money. He only cared about challenging with tougher enemies. Fighting with Tari Darkspanner was the most difficult challenge thing he did in the Outer Rim. The other preys he had hunted down, were not worthy to test his skill. That is why he complained about killing street thugs on Earth.

"Well, that's true hunter. But-"

"And also, two Krayt Dragons on Tatooine, four Mutated Rancors on Dathimor, and three Hutts on Makeb. When I delt with the Hutts I used my hidden blade to rip out their hearts from their thick, slimy, overweight bodies. So comparing with my preys in Outer Rim...to the criminal organization on Earth...I felt like I am doing some target practice on these people..."

The hunter heavily sighed and sat down on the chair which was just right behind his back.

"...Why are you letting me do these types of jobs? I mean really. Why? Aren't these jobs for the rookies? Why do you pick me to do these easy tasks?"

The guild master as he raised three fingers. "There are three reasons. One: You are the best. The best bounty hunter I could ever have in this guild. Two: I want you to get used to hunting prey on Earth. If it's in Outer Rim, I won't mind you causing havoc to the society but you are doing your work on Earth. The Earthlings think their races are far more civilized than any other planet in the Solar system. Well, that is wrong because the technology they have is outdated then ours. Because of that, we don't want the people of this planet to know our existence. If we revealed ourselves to them without thinking carefully, we might not get any bounties to hunt them down. And that will affect our business badly. Do you understand?"

"...I guess." his employee answered.

"Good. Now the third reason is... I have been saving something special for you."

The hunter tilted his head. "For me?"

The guild master nodded. "Yes. I think you are very familiar with the landscape of the upper levels. So I want you to hunt down a very special prey."

"Who is it?"

"It's not a who..." he brought out a black colored holo device and showed the hunter, his next target. "It's an 'it'."

The hunter looked at the target as he smiled it amusingly beneath his helmet.

"Do you think you can handle it?" the guild master asked as he looked into the hunter's helmet.

"Absolutely. This will be a worthy challenge to test my skills." the hunter nodded as he accepted the job. "Do you want me to bring it warm or cold?"

"It's up to you hunter. You will do it your own way to hunt down the target."

"As you wish."
