Day 7: Part 2
"I thought you said five" she answered from her place on his front step
"Had to take a little detour" he walked towards her pulling out a bouquet of roses from behind his back
"There beautiful" she took them off his taking a quick smell
"I'm so sorry…" he rested his hand against her cheek
"I'm sorry too you had a point, I shouldn't have gone behind your back it was…" she was cut off when he placed a emotional kiss against her lips "wrong" she finished when he pulled back
"Can I interest you in a cuppa? Black though unfortunately got no milk" he grinned
"I have something else in mind" she teased
"Oh?" he wiggled his eyebrows at her
"Unlock the door Mr Flynn" she moved out of his way laughing when he tried to quickly unlock the door not before dropping his keys,
finally managing to unlock the door he pushed it open letting her enter first he kicked it closed with his foot watching as she placed the flowers down on the little table before slowly moving towards him
"Kate…" his breath hitched when her hands moved up his chest
"We can talk after… I… I need this" she stuttered when his hands came to rest on her cheeks,
meeting her lisp in a fiery embrace Mike dropped his keys before lifting her up and carrying her to the couch smiling against his lips Kate began undoing his shirt when he lowered her onto the couch.
Running her hands along his chest hours later Kate smiled when his hand grabbed hers and brought it to his lips kissing it soundly
"I think we both needed that" Mike laughed softly holding her hand against his chest from there place in front of the fancy fireplace heater
"Mike…" Kate sighed realising they needed to talk about earlier otherwise nothing would be resolved
"It's time to talk?"
"I know it's not exactly how you imagined this discussion going but…"
"Don't even think that, Kate when am I ever going to pass up the opportunity to make love to you" he grinned shifting onto his side leaning on his elbow he looked down at her
"I really thought I was doing the right thing, letting you still stay on the boat… I know how much you love Hammersley" she looked up at the ceiling,
his free hand trailed circles across her stomach while she laid there in her bra and underwear a blanket draped across them both
"I love you more than any boat Kate"
"And I get that now, I really do…"
"But…" he sighed sensing her about to say it
"Tell me honestly, do you want to leave Hammersley?" she turned her head to look at his ocean blue eyes
"Yes" he nodded
"Mike…"
"It's my time to leave Kate, and I want to start my future my new life with you" he ran his hand up her chest placing it under her chin he lifted her head while he descended his to meet in a soft kiss
"I can't stay…" she mumbled against his lips
"I know" he pulled back
"I'm sorry…"
"So which posting have you decided on?" he went back to tracing patterns on her abdomen
"I'm kind of leaning towards Sydney…"
"Sydney it is then, when do we leave?"
"Well I…" she paused finally catching onto what he said "Mike did you…"
"I want to come with you" he smiled widely
"Are you sure?"
"Wherever you go I go" he nodded laughing in surprise with Kate pushed him back before shifting to sit in on lap
"How'd I get so lucky?" she looked down at him her blonde hair falling down around her face
"So is that a yes, you'll let me come with you?" he grinned running his hands across her back
"One condition…" she began slowly leaning down
"Anything" he bit his bottom lip slowly descending up to meet her
"We get married"
"Didn't I… didn't I already ask you to marry me?" he teased stopping his hand behind her shoulders his other hand moving to brush the hair behind her ear
"I won't live with a man without a ring" she grinned turning her sideways slightly to stop her hair falling down her face
"And who says we'd be living together"
"Hmm, if your ever want any again I'd suggest re-evaluating that thought" she tried to pull back
"Ah no you don't" he pulled her down so their faces were inches apart
"Thought it over?" she brushed her nose against his
"All I want is you, to become my wife" he teased
leaning into kiss her she groaned slightly before he shifted flipping them over he pinned her back against the floor holding her leg against his waist
"Tease" she squirmed with a grin
"Guess you're going to have to get used to it" he leaned down teasing her into a kiss,
her hands wrapping behind his neck trying to pull him closer.

"Anyone know why the Boss asked us to meet them here?" Bomber looked at the entrance of the small city hall
"And why did he say, 'wear formal' clothes; what is this some weird bonding experience?" 2Dads pulled off his jacket getting hot from the summer sun
"You don't think…" Swain whispered to Charge
"A secret wedding?" he whispered back
"After what's happened the past week I don't think a secret wedding would surprise me much" Swain shook his head
"Well that's good to know Swaino" Mike laughed from behind them I his best suit
"Sir… we just…" Charge cleared his throat
"Please, it's Mike I'm not your Boss anymore"
"You're not?" 2Dads asked confused
"Not as of…" he looked down at his watch "four hours ago"
"Okay I'm officially confused" Bomber shook her head
"Nice of you to explain Mike" Kate huffed making her way over
"X, you look" she stuttered at seeing Kate in a knee length blue and white dress with a pair of white high heels her hair half down with the top bit up in a French braid
"Not your X anymore Bomber" Kate stopped next to Mike
"Okay, what is going on?" 2Dads pulled his jacket back on
"Kate and I are leaving" Mike wrapped his arm behind her waist
"What?" Charge's eyes widened
"Since when?" 2Dads sighed
"We organised a video chat with the Commodore and Fleet Command…" Mike began saying
"You went over Commander White's head?" 2Dads asked
"Commander White wouldn't let either of us transfer, so yes 2Dads we went over her head" Kate smiled sadly
"And?" Swain asked with interest
"Your getting a new CO and X in two weeks, their currently in self isolation having travelled from Victoria and South Australia"
"And where are you guys going?" Bomber replied sadly
"Sydney, Kate's got a position as CO on a Patrol Boat over there and I'll be at the local NAVCOM as a Commander" Mike smiled down at Kate in his arms
"So you're really leaving then?" Charge looked at them sadly
"Don't worry Charge, we'll come back and visit" Mike assured him
"Still doesn't answer the question as to why we're here in our best clothes" 2Dads interrupted
"Ah yes that, well…" Mike stepped forward passing a small bag to Swain
"What's this?" he tipped the content into his open palm
"Rings?" Bomber's eyes widened
"Are you guys…" Charge started saying
"We're ready for you" a man interrupted
"We'll be right there thank you" Kate smiled when he disappeared back inside
"You guys are getting Married? Now, here today?" Bomber grinned widely
"We wanted to be married before we started our new lives together but it didn't feel right not including you all" Mike smiled sadly
"Well what are we waiting for!" 2Dads patted Mike's back moving towards the door he pulled it open
"You ready?" Mike looked down at Kate while everyone moved past them and into the hall
"Absolutely" Kate reached for his hand interlocking it with hers
"Come on you two!" 2Dads shook his head,
Kate and Mike laughing softly before following behind the rest of them.
Standing in the small hall Kate smiled across at Mike
"We're here today to celebrate the union of Michael Joseph Flynn and Katherine Elizabeth McGregor an intimate ceremony between them as they share their love for each other" the celebrant began saying
as Kate stood across from Mike his hands in hers Bomber, 2Dads, Charge and Swain watched on with tears in his eyes
"As I understand Kate and Mike have written their own vows, Mike would you like to go first?" he asked as Mike pulled a piece of paper out of his pocket letting go of Kate's hands he cleared his throat
"My beautiful Kate, 3 years ago when you came back into my life I didn't know my whole world was going to be turned upside down, a beautiful blonde woman from my past had made my heart skip multiple beats with just a flash of a smile" he smiled as Kate grinned
"You have given my life meaning, it's became passionate and full of love.
I can't but help get sucked in by the way you crinkle your nose even the way you try to keep a serious face when you're mad just to cave at the last second and flash me that beautiful smiled,
I promise to love you every day of our life's together,
to support you in any decisions you make to follow you wherever our lives may go and I promise to fill your life with all the laughter in the world just to see you smile,
I love you so much Kate" he sniffled folding up the piece of paper
"Kate your turn"
"Mike, the minute you came back into my life I knew I was in for a adventurous journey" she grinned at him
"I never expected to fall so deeply for you again, when I made it pretty clear things would never go further I suppose even after everything I just couldn't avoid your girly grin making me go weak at the knees.
I can't wait to have a future with you, starting a family, buying our first house even growing old with you" she continued as Mike laughed slightly
"I love you more than you'll ever know and I can't wait to prove just how much every day of the rest of our life's" she finished as Mike grabbed her hands again.
"Mike repeat after me; I take you, Katherine, to be my wife from this day forward, to join with you and share all that is to come" the celebrant said as Swain moved forward with the rings
"I take you, Katherine, to be my wife from this day forward, to join with you and share all that is to come" he smiled pushing the ring on her finger
"Now Kate repeat after me; I take you, Michael, to be my husband from this day forward, to join with you and share all that is to come"
"I take you, Michael, to be my husband from this day forward, to join with you and share all that is to come" Kate repeated smiling widely at Mike pushing the ring on his finger
"Mike do you take Kate to be your lawfully wedded Wife through sickness and in health till death do you part?" the celebrant finally asked as they got towards the end
"I do" Mike teared up looking at Kate
"And Kate do you take Mike to be your lawfully wedded Husband through sickness and in health till death do you part"
"I most certainly do" she smirked at Mike
"Well then with the power invested in me I now pronounce you Husband and Wife, you may.." he began saying
as Mike wrapped a hand behind Kate's head he pulled her close and kissed her passionately everyone laughed in the background
"They never wait for the end" the celebrant rolled his eyes
Mike kissed her one last time before turning to face the crew who were excitedly herding around them.
(RO didn't want to attend, for anyone who was going to ask.. Um and i might start doing a flash forward so and as I continue writing this story I realise that it has completely gone off the path of it being around the Coronavirus...)
