Chapter 11: Eliminate Witness.
(Meanwhile at the Underground City's Central Information System)
The Central Information Service. Short for C.I.S. It is a place where people can get information about the Upper Levels through the surveillance cameras. Most surveillance cameras are being placed in very Jump City's known location. Such as Times Square, the Abandoned Working site, and etc. Nobody knows who did the hard work of placing all the cameras in every populated area. But, the residents of the Underground City seemed to care more about the information of the Upper Levels, rather than the procedure of setting it up. Also, it is the only place where you can get some news about the Outer Rim Territories and some part in the Unknown Regions like Csilla: The home planet of Chiss.
The people who work in C.I.S are mostly former Imperial and Republic Intelligence agent. Despite their affiliations with their representative ruling government (The Galactic Senate and The Sith Empire), they are on friendly terms. They shared a common interest with each other; To get information about the Earth's society for the pioneers in the Underground City. So they put aside their affiliation's political differences in order to focus on their duty.
The exterior of the C.I.S is a recognizable one because it has 4 gigantic television screens attached, around the building. The shape of the building has a familiar aspect of an Eiffel Tower. But with more futuristic metallic elements on it. In other words, the Eiffel Tower's framework is being covered by a Corellian made metal plates. For those who don't know what Corellian is, they are the inhabitants of the planet called Corelia. Corellia is known for its ace pilots and large starships. And they are also famous for producing metal products in high quality for Navy fleets, Firefighters, and even Droids.
"hmm..."
At the front entrance of the C.I.S, the head of the bounty hunter guild looked up at the building. To tell you the truth, he didn't want to come to this place at all in the beginning. But he had a reason to be here because his number one bounty hunter went missing.
He slowly walked inside the building as he pulled his trench coat's collar up. He doesn't want anyone to see his face or know his existence around him. That is because there are people who have a personal grudge against him. But who are these people you may ask. Well, we will find out more in the future.
He approached the reception counter and told the recipient to lead him to his "VIP Room". The recipient didn't understand what he was talking about. So, she asked him about this "VIP Room" to know the details.
"Umm...sorry. Can you explain this...VIP Room of yours?"
The head of the bounty hunter guild then brought up the bounty hunter guild's medallion as an ID certificate. He placed it on the counter and showed it to her. On the medallion, it has an engraving of a Mythsaur; one of the most dangerous beasts that went extinct by the Mandalorians. Which later became symbol for all bounty hunters.
The recipient saw the medallion and understood his words instantly. She apologized for asking him about such a pointless question in front of the C.I.S 's frequent client.
"I am terribly sorry for my ignorance, sir. This way." She then leads to his VIP Room where no other C.I.S operative can be seen.
(Inside the VIP Room)
When he entered the VIP Room, there were five slicers working on the matter. They have been searching for the recorded footage that has the missing Mandalorian in the past two days.
"Well, have you found him?" the head of the bounty hunter guild asked.
His employees all shook their heads and replied "No." at the same time.
"Then hurry up! I am not paying you all in the hour!" said the guild master. "If we don't find him quickly, our existence will be exposed by the people from the upper levels!"
The slicer all understood his concern as they doubled their effort to get the job done.
A few ten minutes later...
"Sir! I found the footage!"
"Really?! Then put it on the screen!" the Guild Master said.
The slicer did what he was told as he played the footage on the big screen. The footage was recorded in the Abandoned Working site. The Guild Master saw the Mandalorian killing all the smugglers and the poachers who were protecting the target. The enemies were firing back at the Mandalorian with their latest arsenals: Hand Guns, Machine Guns, Shot Guns, and Frag Grenades. But no matter how prepared they are to fight against an alien bounty hunter, they soon realized that they are no match with him.
When the shoot out was over, a survivor begged down on his knees for mercy. But the Mandalorian didn't care for the poacher's life as he aimed his blaster at the forehead. And that was the exact time when the bounty hunter encountered with the Upper Levels' vigilantes; The Teen Titans.
The guild master never saw them before when he first came to Earth. Except for the long red-colored hair girl. He had seen her before but could not remember her name. He asked the slicers to identify the Teenagers. "Who are those people...identify them now!" Within a few minutes, the screen showed up a database of the Teen Titans. The first came was Robin.
Then the computer introduced who the Titans are with a monotone voice.
"Dick Grayson, a.k.a. Robin. one of the five founding members and the leader of the group called the Teen Titans. Trained by a famous vigilante: Batman. Having been under guidance by Batman for many years, Robin left his mentor's side to begin his own vigilante career. Since then, he had worked alone for a few months until he met with the others: Cyborg, Beast Boy, Raven, and Starfire."
"A vigilante, huh..." The guild master said. "Tell me about the other members."
The slicer then next shows Cyborg.
"Victor Stone, a.k.a. Cyborg. A half-cybernetic half-man, chief technological expert, and even one of the five founding members. Once, a promising muscular teenager athlete got into a terrible car accident that injured his body badly. Victor's father was a scientist and he replaced the damaged body parts with cybernetics to keep him alive. But since these mechanical cybernetics were not inconspicuous, he came to Jump City to seclude himself from mingling people until he met Robin."
Next is Beast Boy.
"Garfield Logan, a.k.a. Beast Boy. Before he joined the Titans, he was a member of the Doom Patrol. He can change into any animal that lives on planet Earth. Not much is known about his background, but he suffered a rare illness called sweet. His parents were geneticists and they gave him a serum that bestowed him with his shape-changing abilities."
Next is Raven.
"Rachel Roth, a.k.a. Raven. A human girl who has a force-like ability called Magic. Her background, family, affiliation is unknown. Further investigation is needed."
"Hmm...'Further investigation is needed' huh...that mysterious?" said the Guild master. "Well, showed me the last one."
When the slicer showed up an image of Starfire, the guild master widen his eyes as he saw his face. "NO!NO! NOT HER!" He shouted out loudly as he banged the wall hard. The slicer heard his sudden outcry and all faced back at their employers.
"S-sir...? Is there something wrong...?" one of the slicers asked.
"Wrong? Yes, of course there is something wrong! I know who she is! That is the Tamarian Princess! How could I be careless when I looked at the footage?! HOW?!" He walked in circles in the VIP Room, thinking of a plan to solve this problem. He had finally remembered who she was. Princess Koriand'r. One of the royal family member from Tamran. He thought Princess Koriand'r is in the hands of the Sith Empire right after the siege of Tamara. Doing some experiments on her of course. But, learning the fact she is here...that means...
"Someone...had rescued her during the Siege of Tamara..." He looked up at the screen and know what he has to do. "Get the latest information about her whereabouts and her Titans. I want to know where they are in ASAP!"
"Yes Sir!" the slicers replied.
"While you all do that, I'm going to make a call..." He brought up his Holo transmitter and called a certain "assassin" to take care of the job. We can not see who the assassin is due to the assassin's attire. "Hello, there my assassin...I have a job for you...I want you to eliminate some witnesses and...send your men to bring back my Mandalorian...I'll show you where he is..." He brought a small tracking device that shows where the bounty hunter is. He is in the...Jump City's Police Department...
(In the Jump City's Police Department)
The Mandalorian was in his detention cell, thinking about Starfire. He doesn't know why he can't stop thinking about her. All he understands that there is some history between the two.
That Tamarian girl...there is something about her I should remember...but I can't...I wonder why...
He looked up at the ceiling, feeling helpless. He gave out a long sign from his mouth, hoping he could get more answers from the girl. But since he is stuck in this detention cell, there is nothing he could do...
Or is it...?
BOOM!
"What the?!" A sudden explosion shook the building, making the Mandalorian stands up from the bed. He looked through the detention cell's bar to see what's going on. All he could see and hear is smoke and screams. He then listened to a warning announcement coming from the police's speakers.
"Attention to all officers! We are under attack by a mysterious group with guns! Those who can fight against them must be assembled at the police hall immediately! And those who can not fight must evacuate the injured ones to safety!"
"An attack? By who?" he wondered. Then all of a sudden, he saw three fellow bounty hunters, busting him out from the detention cell by ripping out the bars. One of them was a human bounty hunter and the other two are Rodian and Trandoshan. Those who don't know what Rodian is, they are green-skinned reptilian humanoids that are as violent as the Trandoshan. However, the Trandoshan has a code of honor as they give a full respect towards the victors while the Rodians don't possess any of those morales as they are more interested in outsmarting the enemy. In other words, they don't mind to scam or cheat on other people to get profit.
The Mandalorian was a bit surprised to see his fellow hunters coming to save him.
"You are the Mandalorian?" the human bounty hunter asked.
"Umm, yes." he replied.
"Well good. Your boss sent us to rescue you."
