He knew that if let he Winter attacked first, then she would have no problem dealing with him. Charging in a zigzag direction, he had hoped that would confuse the specialist. Giving him enough time to strike first.
Winter saw through his ploy straight away, summoning an ice glyph near him. It managed to stop his advance. "Too simple Jaune, there are multiple ways an opponent can stop a charge like that."
"Sometimes it works if you're clever enough for it." Repositioning his stance, Jaune knew that he had lost the initial advantage. Now that Winter had free range, he knew that he couldn't be so careless in his actions anymore.
Winter on the other hand had summoned a pack of small nevermores and they were directed towards him. "See how you get out of this Jaune." She taunted.
Activating the hard light dust in his shield, he extended the protective layer around the front of his body. Marching forward under the direct assault of the birds, Jaune managed to make it to the halfway point of the room before they had disappeared.
"Impressive but that isn't enough for you to win this bout."
"Yeah but that doesn't mean I won't try!"
{~}
Over to the sidelines, Weiss watched with worry as Winter began her offensive. Jaune hasn't seen how Winter fought or the tactics she uses. "Please be safe Jaune" She whispered to herself, clutching her hand near her mouth.
Winter strode up to the halfway point to where Jaune was awaiting for her. "Let's see how your combat form fairs against mine."
Knowing that he couldn't match her with raw power, he awaited for her to make the first strike.
With a quick motion of her rapier, Winter struck against his sword arm. Unfortunately Jaune was prepared for her and brought his sword down to meet it; parrying the strike. She didn't let up although, knowing that Jaune could match her strikes equally. She unleashed a flurry of attacks upon the boy, making him retreat a couple steps back.
Jaune tried his best to defend against the onslaught but it was to no avail. He took many hits in the process, at least two thirds of the strikes had made direct contact. He didn't know how much aura he had lost but he had no time to check it as Winter wouldn't let up her assault.
"I must say Jaune, this isn't going at all the way I was expecting. This is pathetic to say the least."
Being called pathetic proved to be the wrong move for her as something inside of him snapped. He wasn't pathetic, he travelled across a whole continent on foot, fighting against Grimm and people, that someone of his training shouldn't be capable of going toe to toe with. Unexpectedly a sudden surge of strength from inside of his soul burst out and it allowed Jaune to block her rapier.
Stunning everyone watching, even Winter at it. He had a look of ferocity in his eyes but it wasn't rage, it was determination. Grunting, Winter felt winded as his shield made hard contact with her body. Knocking out all the air in her body, she stumbled a bit. Leaving enough time for Jaune to press on the offensive for once.
"Yeah Jaune! Come on Jaune!" Yang yelled out, pumping her hand in the air for encouragement.
"Come on fearless leader, you can't let your ass get whoop. That's butt is for Weiss only!" Nora shouted out, silencing everyone as they all looked at with eyes widened. "What? It's the truth isn't it?"
"I-I-I" Weiss was speechless. She had no idea what to do, her entire body had shut down when she heard Nora's comment.
The fighting quickly resumed although both combatants weren't completely focused on the fight anymore. Jaune was too shocked to even think about his actions as he had learnt something new about Weiss thanks to Nora. Winter was slightly taken back to hear that Weiss, her little sister had been secretly admiring Jaune backside.
To distract herself from those thoughts and allow Jaune to refocus on the fight, she activated the contraption; hiding her small rapier. Now dual wielding, she had double the attack speed than before.
Furiously attacking with greater ferocity, Winter was pleased that her actions had made Jaune refocus on the fight before him. Not wanting for him to get distracted once again, she kept on the offensive. Leaving him no chance to catch a breather.
Struggling the pressure of the mighty offensive that Winter was putting him through. Jaune knew that if he didn't refocus on the fight in front of him, then it would be embarrassing to say that he had improved during his trek through Anima.
With a reignited passion, Jaune blocked her rapier with his shield. A loud clanging sound as metal meets metal. Following the flow of the battle, he swung Crocea Mors in an arc. Winter's left rapier met his blade but only just barely as each step he took. It forced her to retreat, yielding the initial advantage she had once gained in the beginning.
"Go Jaune!" Ruby shouted with glee, as her fellow leader was pushing on the offensive.
"Ehhh yahhh." He thrusted his blade forward, not letting his attacks as it interfered with her attack speed.
'I can tell he has passion behind those eyes of his but they look troubled. His strikes seem harmless but they carried a great amount of pain and suffering behind them.'
With her thought of the boy increasing, she was impressed to see that Weiss was telling the truth about his combat prowess. However it wouldn't mean he was getting an easy victory.
Drawing Jaune in closer, Winter parried his sword strike and followed it up with a lightning thrust. An ice glyph formed underneath his feet, freezing his legs solid. Now stuck, Jaune knew that he would be in trouble if he couldn't break out of the ice in time.
Winter started the summoning process once again, this time manifesting a Beowolf. Taking form, its blue light glittered the room before it let out a mighty roar. Setting its upon Jaune, it rushed towards him; on all fours for extra mobility.
He had no time to break the ice, with no choice left. Jaune brought his shield up to cover his body as the Beowolf crashed into him. On the bright side, he didn't need to worry about his legs trapped in the ice anymore.
"Ooofff." Sliding across the floor, Jaune felt as his lungs burned as he felt his breastplate dug into his chest. The Beowolf didn't stop there though, chasing up with its attacks. It tried to claw Jaune's face but it unfortunately missed as he had rolled away in time.
Standing back on his feet, Jaune looked over to see Winter wasn't breathing as heavily as he was. "There's got to be a way I can make her feel under pressure. Just what is it?" He mumbled, his brain going to work to find a solution to the problem.
He had wished he had more time, but the Beowolf wasn't going to let him, if he doesn't get rid of it….That's it!
Quick on his feet, he swiped towards the oncoming beast with all his might he could muster. Landing a successful hit, he activated his hard light dust again. Now with an extended shield to cover him, he surged forward and stabbed down with the sharp end, implanting right through it's ribcage.
Howling in pain, it squirmed underneath him but it was to no avail. With one last final effort, it bit Jaune's leg, lowering his aura even further.
Now with the Beowolf out of the equation, it was back to himself and Winter. He noticed that she was breathing quite heavily, no doubt killing her summon had sapped some of her energy.
Now he had a breather, he quickly checked his aura level and saw that he was dangerously close to the red zone. Winter on the other hand was approaching the red zone as well but was at a quarter of the way there.
"Smart move Jaune, you are intriguing me even more so than ever. However this fight is going to end soon and I will be interested in how you're going to approach this." She said slowly, her breathing returning to normal as she took a fencer stance.
Knowing that they were about to go all out during the last few moments of the spar, Jaune sheathed Creocas Mors away, only for it to be reassembled into its greatsword form.
It felt a bit clumsy in his hands as it had been a while since he had last unleashed this beauty but it'll come back to him in time.

"Nice Jaune, taking out the big guns now. Winter is so in trouble now." Over to the side, Yang nudged Weiss' side in glee.
"I don't have time for your childish behaviour Yang...Do you think Jaune can win?" Annoyed at her comrade at first, she couldn't help the fear she held watching Jaune going up against Winter.
"Winter may be an excellent fighter with more experience than all of us but, Jaune is smart on his feet at times. I can't say which side is even, as we've seen Jaune pull off miracles before. Remember what happened at Haven?"
"Yang!" Weiss yelled at the blonde on their team, furious she would take the opportunity to tease her further.
"If you ask me." Ren cut in before the girls could go at each other's throats. "Jaune bringing out his greatsword is a very risky move."
"Oh, how come?" Yang asked, letting Weiss off for the moment.
"Is it because he hasn't used it for quite a while?" Popping in the conversation, Blake decided to chip in. "He looks clumsy with it."
"He always looks clumsy." Weiss commented, looking to him as they ready themselves for another head on collision.
"Really? Then care to explain to why you sneak off to sleep with him? Is he also clumsy with that?" Yang couldn't help but feel joy as Weiss fell into an unintentional trap she had laid up perfectly for herself.
Blushing heavily, Weiss turned her head away as Yang couldn't be farther from the truth but there was no way she was going to learn about that. Especially with her sister around...then again, she was wearing her bra when they met earlier today.
"Kick her butt Jaune!" Nora yelled out as both combatants charged towards one another. Excited to see him use a larger weapon just like her.
With a determined look on her face, Winter deflected the sword blow. Knocking it to the side but she wasn't going to pierce his opening. She could tell that Jaune was serious about the last few minutes of the spar and she had to as well.
Shuffling around him, Winter acted as a shark; circling around a school of fish before striking out. She kept her rapier outwards, the point aimed right at him. Telling him to be careful in his approach.
Recovering from the deflect, Jaune held his sword to his right side. He shifted alongside Winter from inside his space, carefully watching the specialist's movement.
Twirling the grip upside down, he stepped forward and delivered an upward stroke.
Seeing the strike coming towards her, Winter nimbly dodged out of the way but to her surprise it was a feint attack. Caught off guard, she suffered a blunt hit to her left arm.
Capitalising on his swift success. Jaune continued on with his attacks: thrust, swings, parries and blocks. With each combination of moves, Jaune was slowly withering away at Winter's aura level.
She on the other hand was against the boy's reignited passion, finding it ever so difficult to counter his onslaught. 'If he keeps up with this, then I don't think I will be able to win.'
"Heeee yaaa!" With one last massive overhead strike, Jaune broke Winter's aura, knocking her down onto the ground. Making him the official winner of the spar. He couldn't believe it, even when the chips were stacked against his favour, he had managed to overcome those odds and emerged victorious.
All his friends on the side cheered out his name with pride. It felt good he thought, to hear people cheering for his success. Reverting Crecos Mors back into its original form, he held out a hand for Winter. "You fought well during the fight. I almost lost."
"Of course I did, I am a Schnee after all and besides, I could see it in your eyes that defeat wasn't an option ." Accepting his offer, she allowed herself to be pulled up from the ground. "Congratulations Jaune Arc, I can safely say that you're a much fighter than you think. Remnant is proud to have someone of your abilities in service of protecting the people."
"Ah thanks, it wasn't anything too special." Scratching the back of his neck, Jaune felt embarrassed from the high praise that came from Weiss' older sister.
"Yeah Jaune! That's my fearless leader for you!" He had no time to prepare as Nora tackled him into a bear hug; squeezing all the air in his lungs.
"Ahhh Nora, need air." He managed to squeeze before he collapsed due to a lack of oxygen.
Giggling, Nora let go of him but before he could breath. He was grabbed hold by Yang as she patted him down. "Nice going there Jaune, can't believe you best both the Schnee sisters. Is there something you're not telling us?"
"Yang!" He yelled out, nervously looking to Winter who raised an eyebrow at him. Weiss on the other hand, had turned the exact same colour as Ruby's cloak.
"What? I'm just curious, is that such a bad thing?"
"Yes! Especially with that shrewd mind of yours." Weiss shouted at her, pulling on the sleeve of Jaune's shirt. Making him fly over to her.
"Well Weiss, today has proven to be very interesting, if you excuse me. I still have duties to uphold before the day ends." Noticing that her sister was in a complication situation, Winter knew it was best if she left before things went spiralling out of control.
With a look of betrayal on her face, Weiss looked over as her sister had just left the room. Leaving her and Jauen to the sharks.

"Man, who knew that they would have so many questions, especially Blake." Falling back on their bed. Jaune felt exhausted, their combined teammates wouldn't stop asking questions about what Yang had teased about, plus what they had been doing together alone at night. Now that Jaune and Weiss were spending the nights together.
"Stupid Yang, I swear one day. She'll pay for her idiocy." Weiss grumbled, undressing herself for the night. "Can't believe Ruby was the one who asked if we were making enough love at night. The nerve of that girl!"
"Weiss...are you still upset how we couldn't continue with this morning?" He asked, alluding to when things were about to go further before they were interrupted.
"No, why would you think that? You dolt, just because I want to feel you inside of me does not...make me upset." Weiss slowly realised she had just played into Jaune's trap. She could hear him laughing to himself behind her.
"Oh this is comedy gold haha." She couldn't believe the nerve of that man. Well if that was the way he was going to play, then maybe she would have to be resourceful to make him be under her spell.
Pushing him back on onto the bed, Weiss seducingly crawled on top of him. "Sorry, what was that about comedy gold? Do you wish to repeat because if you do...don't expect me to be sleeping in your bed tonight mister."
"N-No madam, I would never dream of it." Gulping, Jaune shook his head to the sides as his girlfriend was wearing nothing but her underwear. He resisted the urge to tear them off and enjoy her natural female body.
"Good." Leaning into his ear, she whispered. "How does a whole night of letting our animalistic urges take over sound?"
Jaune felt his blood pumping, breathing heavily. He surprised Weiss by switching their position so he was on top and she on bottom. "I'm completely fine with, that's if you're alright with it."
"Hehehe, idiot of course I am, now come here." Grabbing onto his neck, found lost in their kiss. The sounds of moaning filled the room as they both lost track of time.
AN: Well the ending, I had to make it up somehow to Weiss for being interrupted haha.
Some of you may know that I have posted up a new story called 'The Healer and the Heiress' recently, do not fret as I've said in that new fic. Both HH and OFR will be worked on so the update schedule is still random, that's on me as I literal spend all my free time writing now. Go give some love to that and tell me your thoughts on how this story is progressing so far.
It's strange to think that it's almost one month ago when I release the first chapter. How time flies.
