Author Note: Nani!? What is this? An update after he promised one a week ago. The nerve of him.
So yeah what's up, I'm back again sorry for all of that. I took a little break from writing for a bit as school is piling us with revision for my exams next week and I was playing Ghost of Tsushima as well (Playing it all over again because why not) But besides that, I do apologies for dipping unexceptedly and promise I won't be doing that again.
In other news, I do have announcement. Old Feelings Returning is reaching it's conclusion in the next two chapters. How crazy is that? To that nearly 3 months have by and it's slowly reaching its lifespan. I've been happy by the support I have received over the time and I'm glad that many people have enjoyed themselves but all good things must come to an end I'm afraid.
But I will be working on my other AU White Knight H&H and after that maybe either a multi-chap Knightshade or Dragonslayer.
Weiss looked around the dorm room. She didn't even know how to comprehend the situation right in front of her. On one end, Yang and Blake were practicing their 'dance moves' for their outing with team FNKI. While Ruby was squealing about attending Robyn Hill's victory party along with Penny.
"Ah come on Weiss, you're going to love this. It's a party! What else can you expect from a party?" she asked. Smiling brightly to radiate her happiness energy on a rather irritated Weiss.
"Ruby, if I know my father well. I expect that something will happen badly and I don't want to deal with more politics. Oum, I've already with it in a lifetime, I would rather I don't have to deal with that stuff for another day," she replied.
"Well, if a celebration party isn't up your alley, then you should tag along with me and Blake. We can have loads of fun between the three of us, plus four extras," Yang shouted from across the room. Waving her hand to catch their attention.
Blake shrugged her shoulders at Weiss, not knowing whether she agrees or disagrees with her partner.
"Thank you for all your helpful insight but I think I'll be spending my evening in our dorm tonight," Weiss said. She was grateful that her team were doing their best to include her into their activities for the evening but none had appealed to her senses.
"Hey guys, Oscar and I were going to see a movie and we were wondering-" Peeking his head over their door frame, Jaune appeared along with Oscar's down below him.
"Eeeyup." With no moment of hesitation, Weiss replied quickly. Stepping out of their room rather quickly.
"Whoa, that was fast," Jaune said to no-one in particular. Seeing that Weiss was storming off, he jogged right after her. Oscar on the other hand, gave a polite wave before running off to catch up to the two.
"Well….that just happened," Blake said. Breaking the awkward silence that washed over them as Weiss had changed her mind too quickly after Jaune and Oscar had arrived.
[~]
"Weiss! Wait up!" He shouted out to her. For someone who small, she could really move when she got moody.
"I'm not going to wait for you, stop falling behind and hurry up!" she shouted back with an edge in her tone of voice.
"Any idea what has gotten into her?" Asking the mostv obvious question. Oscar looked back and forth between Jaune and Weiss as he struggled to keep up the tall blonde leader.
Shaking his head in response, he had a bad premonition on what might have upset his girlfriend but he cast those thoughts to the side. Confronting her would only lead to further increasing her already bad mood.
Luckily for the both of them, Weiss was forced to stop as she reached the air shuttle landing pad. There was already a queue forming and it was going to be a while before they could get a seat.
"Hmph, about time you two managed to arrive in time," she said bitterly. Her head turned to the side in an upright manner.
"Weiss, are you feeling okay?" Jaune asked. Resting his hand upon her shoulder, he felt a cold chill traversing down his spine. It was unnatural that the air around them would drop a few degrees below zero but yet it did.
"You're really a funny boyfriend Jaune," she muttered dangerously. If her looks could kill, then Atlas wouldn't have anything to worry about the Grimm, if they placed her on guard duty for an hour.
"Attention, the next air shuttle will be arriving shortly. We thank you for your patience." An announcement from the loud speakers above them rang out. Loud cries of cheer accompanied soon after it had ended, especially one small farm boy.
"Oscar?" Jaune and Weiss both asked at the same time, sharing the same reaction. They both quickly turned their heads away from each other as Oscar watched with a smile on his face.
"Come on guys, we can finally get down into Mantle soon. Then we'll be closer to the movie theatre, I can't wait to see what they got playing," he said. That smile of his almost rival Ruby's, whenever she wanted to bend anyone to her whims.
Grabbing onto both their hands, he jumped in glee in hopes to lighten up the somber mood between the two teens. Jaune easily surrendered to his action while Weiss bit down on her lips.
"Oum, these two idiots are insufferable at times."
Her cheeks turned slightly as the boys were chipping away at her barrier. Her eyes met Jaune's then Oscar's and that was what it took to turn her into a giggling mess. Joining in their antics, not caring for the onlookers around them. She felt oddly satisfied that those two could bring out the inner childish side of her.
"Okay, okay. You two win. I can't believe that if combined, you two could rival Zewi's adorable doggy face," she said. Fond memories of the small corgi flooded her mind as she compared it to Jaune and Oscar.
"Glad to see that you're no longer angry with the world anymore," Jaue commented. Swiftly earning a glare from her, telling him to shut his mouth. Which he of course refused to obey.
"Be careful Jaune Arc, I can easily return to my scary version if needed be," she vowed.
"I uuuhh." Speechless, Jaune struggled to form a complete sentence. While she was proud that her response had rendered him speechless as of this time.
"The air shuttle for Mantle has arrived, we thank you and we hope you enjoy our services." Another announcement over the loudspeaker interrupted them as the line had begun to move.
"Come on guys, let's go!" Oscar shouted as he dragged the two with him. His excitement was on full show, as he didn't want to miss out on a seat and be forced to wait once more in the line.
Laughing at how the small boy was dragging them along with him, Jaune and Weiss reluctantly let their bodies follow along Oscar as if he had won a prize and was showing them off to the world.
[~]
"Well….that was an experience," Jaune said meekly. Hanging onto his right arm, Weiss had a look of horror while Oscar was blinking his eyes rapidly.
"Never again Jaune, never again," she muttered. Refusing to let go of his arms as it was supporting her whole entire body together.
"I seriously understand what Yang meant by watching your feet," Oscar said. All the excitement from before had extinguished in the blink of an eye.
"What? Yang told you that?" With a look of shock, Jaune was surprised that Yang would reveal something so scandalous to the fourteen year old.
"Let's...forget all about that for now. We really should get back to what we came here to do in the first place," Weiss said.
The boys nodded their heads and they spent at least half an hour searching for the movie theatre that Penny had told them about before they left.
"Are you sure this is the place Penny recommended?" Weiss asked. She was unsure whether Penny was being serious in her choice or Jaune had misheard her properly.
The building in front of them was no joke. The style could rival the ones back in Vale if given the chance. Clear limestone was used for the walls and by the looks of the door and ticket booth, oak wood that was transported from Mistral was used. To top it all off, the neon sign above had dust confetti blowing out at an hour interval. Quality Dust that must've come from the floating island above.
"Yep, this is the place. Penny wouldn't lie to us….right?" Jaune said. Unsure with himself as he looked back and forth between Oscar and Weiss for confirmation in his statement.
"I don't really know her well enough to make a judgement, so I'm going to rely on your thoughts," Oscar said. Jaune nodded, understanding that Oscar knows Penny the least out of everyone except for Maria.
Weiss took a moment to comprehend their robotic friend's mind. "Well, this is Penny we're talking about...I don't think she would lie to us, there is really no reason to anyway."
"Okay then, with that out of the way. Let's go find ourselves a movie we can all enjoy!" Jaune ordered. Outstretching his hand, he had a look of confidence on him. A look that made him even more desirable in her eyes.
Running off in front of the group, Oscar had found a candy store and there was no stopping him at all. A fact that Jaune learnt the hard way as he tried his best to stop the boy from his rampage.
"He can be so stupid at times, but damn him for being my stupid dorky boyfriend" Smiling at her thoughts, she chased after those two. Whether she was going to help Jaune was another story altogether.
[~]
"How could someone of his capability have so much energy? He could almost rival Ruby when she talks about upgrades." Weiss huffed, bent over as Jaune gently patted her back.
They had spent at least ten minutes chasing after Oscar around the building, it wasn't until they had recruited help from the staff members that they finally brought the boy under control.
"There. There. Weiss, just breathe in and out. Don't waste any unnecessary air," he said. Meanwhile Oscar was standing off the side, sipping on a soda as he watched with an amused look on his face.
She took a few more minutes before standing up with a composed look. "Okay. I think I've spent enough recuperating. Let's enjoy ourselves properly with a movie..." she trailed off as she looked around the building for some sort of purpose.
"Weiss? You don't know how a theatre works, right?" Seeing the hesitation on her face told him that Weiss had probably never gone to a movie theatre in the first place.
"Umm I….Yeah you're right. I've never been to one before," she said meekly.
Seeing Weiss dejected, made his heart flutter. Of course she wouldn't have, back then, she was the heiress to the SDC. She wouldn't have the time to spend time on fun activities like the movies with friends. Jaune knew that he had to make tonight the best night for her.
"Don't worry Weiss," holding her hand in his. "I'll make sure that you'll have the best experience of going to the movies with friends," he said, smiling brightly at her.
"Hehe, you can be such a dunce at times you know," she teased. Rocking her body into him as he laughed merrily at her. "But you're my dunce and I shall see what other charms you still have hidden up your sleeve, Jaune Arc."
The two lovebirds giggled as Oscar finished his whole soda. Satisfied with how happy they were, he quietly creeped away to put his drink in the rubbish bin.
"Come on Weiss, we still need to pick a movie and we need to make sure that it's one that will allow Osca to watch. Considering he is fourteen years old," he said. Noticing how the small farm boy had disappeared from their sight.
Looking behind her, she hummed in agreement as Oscar was standing over by the bin waving at them. "Lead the way Jaune, I shall be relying on both your expertise for tonight. To think that you'll be in charge of me once again."
"Haha, don't say it like that Weiss. I take charge sometimes, remember-" A hand covered his mouth before he could finish his sentence.
"S-Shut up you idiot. People can hear us," she frowned at him but the blush on her face certainly didn't help to allude what she was truly feeling at the moment.
"Whatever you say Weiss, whatever you say," he chuckled as he took her along with him. His hand locked against her as they strolled up to Oscar.
"Ah you guys are done? Great! Come on, we still need to choose a movie," Oscar shouted out as they got into ear range. "Hurry up, otherwise we'll miss out on some of them!" Running off ahead of them, Weiss and Jaune couldn't help the grins on their face as they followed after him.
"Oscar wait up, or we won't be able to keep up with your speed. We need to stick as a group," Jaune said. Grabbing onto the back of his shirt to stop him from going any further. "And remember Oscar," he whispered quietly into his ear. "We also need to make sure that Weiss is having fun as well."
Nodding his head, he gave Jaune a thumbs up. "Alright then, I'll control myself a bit but we seriously need to pick a movie."
"And we will but slow down, we still have the whole night in front of us. We can always choose something different to watch if we can't get into one in particular." He said, ruffling Oscar's hair.
"Hey stop that Jaune! You're messing up my hair, hahaha stop it." Struggling with all his might, Oscar was laughing along as he tried to stop Jaune but to no avail.
"Sorry Oscar, but I need to knock some sense into you if I want you to obey," relentlessly on his attack, Jaune refused to back down and continued on while Weiss was giggling at the scene in front of her.
"Those two are such idiots."
Doing his best to fend the blonde boy off, he grew in despair as he wasn't able to keep him off of him for long. With no options left, he looked over to Weiss and used the trick that Ruby had told him before, that was guaranteed to work on the cold girl.
Doing his best attempt at puppy dog eyes, he looked frantically at her in the hopes that what Ruby had said was true or not.
Luckily for him, the giggling girl stopped right there and then and darted over to pull Jaune off of him.
"Thanks Weiss, I didn't know how much more I could have handled that," he said weakly. Escaping from the clutches of Jaune, he breathed in a sigh of relief and quickly moved off to the sidelines.
"No problem Oscar," she beamed at him before it turned to a frown when her head whipped over to Jaune. "Now listen here mister," digging her finger at his chest. "You should be more mindful of Oscar's feelings. There was no need to drag that further than it needed to be."
Being on the defensive, he realised how Oscar must have felt as Weiss droned on. "You stupid idiot, be more mindful of other's feeling."
"Sorry Weiss," he mumbled. Sweat drops, dripped down his face as Weiss kept her furious glare on him. "L-Let's go pick the movie please," he said nervously.
She kept her gaze on him for a couple more seconds, it was like she had become the old Weiss back at Beacon. "Okay then, but control yourself Jaune. You better not forget this, otherwise. I will protect Oscar at all cost," she threatened.
He nervously smiled at her to reassure her that he wouldn't pull off any stunts like that again. Glancing over to Oscar, he grew annoyed at the sweet innocent face he was pulling off and sweared he would that stupid grin off his face later, but that would have to wait for another time.
"Do you both have any ideas of what you guys want to watch?" he asked. He snapped his finger before any of them could respond as he realised what a silly question to ask for someone who has no idea how a theatre works and a child who was still under the age restriction level.
"Never mind that, how about we go with….That one there," Ignoring the curious glances at him as he pointed his finger over to the posters placed on display and noticed a rather familiar one showing.
"This one? Are you sure Jaune, isn't this a bit...childish?" Walking over for a closer inspection, Weiss tilted her head in and glanced back at him as if he had gone crazy.
"I'm having to agree with Weiss here Jaune. That's a rather weird choice especially for the two of you. Wouldn't you both rather have a more romantic selection?" Puzzled by why Jaune had chosen a rather well known kids movie. Oscar didn't understand why he would do something like that.
"Well, it's just...this one would probably be a safer choice for two reasons. Firstly, this is Weiss' first time here right and we should start off with something small so she can become familiar with the atmosphere and secondly. It solves the issue we have for your age Oscar, this way we can get the tickets with no trouble and have to spend unnecessary time explaining our situation and come with a lie on why you're old enough to watch M rated movies."
Jaune watched as the blank looks on their face slowly turned to understandment as the gears in their head started to roll.
"I guess that makes sense in a way and yeah, I rather not be caught up with the staff members here," Oscar said slowly nodding his head.
"Hmmm, I see the valid points you raise and I agree with your statements but, shouldn't we try for something more mature. At least something we will be able to get in with no trouble when we buy the tickets," Weiss said as she considered the different options they still have available at their disposal.
"Come on Weiss, I promise that you won't regret this at all. Trust me," he said reassuringly. Taking her hand, he led the way as she blushed at the way he was taking control of the situation. While Oscar followed along behind them, trying his best to check up with Jaune's long strides.
[~]
Weiss watched the screen intensely as she was lost in the plot. Seeing that she was preoccupied after baring her harmless insults before the start of the movie, a fact he learned meant she was very nervous. He relaxed his shoulders and looked over to the second member of their outing.
"Hey Oscar, was this movie alright with you? I hope that I hadn't made a bad choice," he whispered over to the side.
"Nah, it's alright. It really doesn't matter to me as long we waste time having fun and it looks like Weiss is enjoying herself," he whispered back, covering his mouth with his hand. "I'm going to get some snacks, do you want anything?" he asked.
"Maybe a bag of popcorn for me, let me quickly ask Weiss for you," he said. Turning around, he tapped her shoulder gently to gain her attention. "Hey Weiss. Oscar is going to get some snacks, is there anything you want?"
"Hmm, maybe some fairy floss for me would be fine, thank you," she replied, her eyes never breaking away from the screen to answer him.
"Got it, thanks Weiss." Smiling, he turned back to Oscar and told him what Weiss wanted. Slipping his hand into his pocket, he handed Oscar his lien card. "Here, use my card instead. It was my idea in the first place and it should be fine," he said, slipping his hand into the pockets of his pants and pulling out his card.
"Got it, thanks Jaune." Oscar said as he took the card into his own grasp. Creeping out of their row, he silently crouched his way out of the room. Letting a brief moment of lights enter the room before disappearing the next second.
Returning his attention back on the movie, he chuckled quietly to himself as it was reaching the prime comedy skit of the film. One that never failed to throw his entire family into laughing fits whenever they watched it together.
Suddenly a weight bore down upon his shoulder, as white hair dangled along his chest. Looking down to his left, Weiss was resting her head unconsciously as she hadn't noticed her action yet.
Seeing that she was fully immersed into the movie, he wrapped his arm around her shoulder, pulling her closer into his grasp. A soft gasp of surprise escaped through her lips as she was broken out of her trance.
Feeling the arm around her body, her cheeks were heating up and she started to breath heavily at the very cliche move he had just pulled off. "Very funny Jaune," she said, narrowing her eyes at him.
"I could say the same about you as well Weiss," he remarked back, raising his eyebrow at her in an inquisitive manner. She felt her body tremble as that look of his was very seductive; sending chills down her spine as her body surrendered itself to him.
"S-Shut up you," she snapped back. Punching his arm weakly. "Don't ruin this like you always do," she said.
Jaune stared down at her confused, thinking back to all their banter. He couldn't pinpoint certain moments where he ruined the mood and why she kept bringing it back up all the time.
"Weiss, why do you keep saying that statement over and over again?" he asked. Stroking her shoulder with his hand. He felt her shudder in response as a result of his action.
"Shhh, you dunce. I like saying that to you, haven't you noticed? It makes you more careful about your affection for me, you dolt."
Opening his mouth to respond but not a single word could be uttered as his mind went blank. Did she really admit that it was a method in order to keep him more humble about his affection whenever they get a private moment to themselves.
"Hey guys, here's your popcorn and fairy floss. I also got myself another soda and popcorn as well Jaune." It was at this moment that Oscar returned unnoticed by the pair. Handing over a bag of popcorn and fairy floss into their hands and slipping Jaune's card on top of the bag. Before he made his way back to his own seat with a happy grin on his face.
"What did I miss?" he asked, shuffling around in his seat until he was comfortable with his position.
"Not much, they just reached the waterpark scene and are just about to have fun," Jaune replied.
"Cool...what's up with Weiss?" Leaning over to the side of the tall blonde, Oscar just noticed how close Weiss had gotten close to him.
"She's just resting on my shoulder as you can see."
"No. No. Not that bit, I mean the part where she can't hear us and is eating her snack weirdly," Ignoring his comment, he pointed out to Jaune the peculiar scene that was playing right in front of them.
Turning around, Jaune's eyes widened as he realised what Oscar actually meant. Weiss was back into her focused phrase but it was surprising to see how she subconsciously reached in and took a bite of the fairy floss without eating breaking her eyes away from the scene.
"It looks like she has become a robot," Oscar commented. Staring amusingly as he experienced another new side of Weiss tonight.
"I think she's...really focused on the movie at the moment. I think it's best if we don't disturb her," Jaune said, placing his hand on top of Oscar's head and titling it back onto the main screen.
"Hey!"
"Nope. Sorry Oscar but I ain't taking the chance if you somehow awaken the resting monster," he commented.
Having dealt with Oscar, he relaxed his body once again and enjoyed the rest of the movie until the end.
[~]
"Wow, I never knew that movies could be so fun," Weiss hummed. Skipping ahead of the two boys as they kept up with her pace. As they exited the room and headed back to the air shuttle bay.
"I guess that means you had fun tonight Weiss," Jaune teased, slipping his hand into hers once he got into reach. Stopping her in her tracks as their bodies turned to one another. Oscar took the opportunity to continue on ahead, to leave the two for some privacy and because he didn't want to deal with the fluffy romantic things couples did alone.
"Looks like Oscar is giving us some space for ourselves. Now let me tell you this you dolt. Tonight has been the most joyous experience ever in my life and I'm glad that I came along with you and Oscar."
Standing on her tippy-toes, she pecked his lips softly and rested her head upon his chest. Enjoying the shared body heat and the how the warmth made her all giddy inside.
With the taste of her lips lingering on, he resisted the urge to rub his hand across his mouth. Instead he opted to dart his tongue to feel the memory of her soft lips brushing against his.
"Was that my reward?" he asked as he wrapped his arms around her body. Never wanting to let go of the most precious girl he valued the most in the world.
"Of course it was you silly dunce, why else would I kiss you idiot?" Weiss grumbled unhappily.
Laughing to himself, he rocked both their bodies together as it started to gently snow onto the city of Mantle.
"Come on Weiss, let's head back to the academy. I bet Ruby and the rest of the gang are worrying how the three of us are handling," he cooed softly, titling her chin with his hand so her memorising eyes were staring right back at him.
"Knowing Ruby, she'll probably tackle either one and ask useless questions like: 'Was it fun? You guys didn't forget Oscar? Or, you guys didn't use the chance to sneak away to do...private stuff again.' Oh Oum, I really hope she doesn't ask that last one, I don't know how I can handle that at all."
Releasing his body from her embrace, she held onto his hand still and slowly walked their way over to Oscar, who was waiting patiently for the pair to catch up.
"Come on guys, the air shuttle has arrived!" Oscar yelled out. Waving his hand to motion them to get a move on before they're forced to wait for the next to arrive.
"Oscar, don't worry. We'll make it in time, there's no need to rush ahead. Besides it's only quarter past nine, we have plenty of time before the end of the night," Jaune shouted back.
"Let him run ahead Jaune. It won't make a difference anyway," Weiss said.
"But Weiss."
"Hush you," she silenced him by placing her finger on his mouth. "Even if we do miss the shuttle, we're in no hurry to get back and like you said. The night is still young, I think we afford to waste more time on getting back," she said.
Satisfied by her own response, she released her finger and took the lead instead. With Jaune drifting alongside her as their hands were still interlocked.
"Oh. Oh right, we'll play it your way Weiss," he responded. Knowing it was impossible to change her mind on simple things like this, he obediently played along.
"See I knew that you come around eventually, such a well mannered boyfriend. Thank you Jaune," she teasingly giggled.
Shaking his head at her, he couldn't help the smile on his face as a devious thought invaded his mind. One which turned the tide around to his favour instead.
Pulling her body with his hand, he swept her feet and held bridal style. Earning a yelp from Weiss who grew red in the face and was playfully bashing his chest with her hands.
"Jaune! Let me down this instance you dunce!"
"Sorry Weiss, but it's mine turn to embarrass you again," he said as he kissed her. Drowning out the sounds coming from her mouth as she tried to replied to him.
Breaking it off, he carried her all the way to the air shuttle bay with Weiss acting all grumpy as she was treated to an embarrassing scenario but she knew exactly how to get payback.
[~]
"Are you alright Jaune? Is this perhaps what Blake meant about karma coming back to bite you?"
Jaune groaned. "Weiss, you can't pin this on how I carried you earlier."
Ignoring him, Weiss was trying to hum a happy tune as she and Oscar were providing support as they were making their way back to the academy. However, they were both struggling against his weight as two small people aren't enough to support one big boy.
"Geez Jaune, how come you're so heavy?" Oscar complained as he was struggling the most out of the two.
"Hey! Blame the armour not the person," he said as he felt the world around was wozzy.
Huffing through her nose, Weiss was starting to regret everything that had transpired a few minutes ago and really wished that either Yang or Nora would be waiting outside as it was nearly ten.
"Do you think the others will be waiting for us outside?" Oscar asked.
"I mean yes but I wouldn't count on them waiting for so long. They might've gone back inside after I texted them that we'll be arriving in about twenty minutes and we're running ten minutes behind," Weiss responded as she pulled out her scroll to recheck the time.
Reading it and noticing that it was reaching ten minutes to ten. She sighed in exhaustion and placed it back into her pocket and continued to drag Jaune.
"You guys know that you could of let me rest up a bit before stepping off?"
"Hush you. Like I said before, this is payback for embarrassing me earlier tonight," Weiss frowned as she turned to stare at him.
At a loss of words, Jaune was confused on how the two of them had hope to walk him back to the academy even if he had weight more than the both of them combined. Which in hindsight, a fact that maybe Weiss had overlooked when she was mad at the stunt he pulled when he was carrying her bridal style.
The ringing of someone's scroll amongst them, brought them all out of their trance.
"Jaune. I think it's your scroll which is ringing," Oscar pointed out as he saw the vibration in his pant pocket.
"Thanks Oscar," he said kindly. Pulling his scroll out, he pressed the answer button and held it close to his ear. "Hello, it's-"
"JAUNE!"
"Ahhh! Nora!" Almost dropping it out of his hand as he yelled out in surprised. "What's going on."
"What's going on? What's going on is that we've been standing out here for over ten minutes now….sorry twelve minutes to be exact. Where are you?"
"Hehe. Sorry about that, Weiss and Oscar are dragging me back after another horrible experince on anti-land vehicles."
"Hey!" Weiss and Oscar both shouted.
"Ahhhh, I see. I see. So how far are you guys now?" she asked and by the sounds of it. It seemed she wasn't alone as multipe voices were competing over something as Nora fended them off.
"Umm, give me one sec." he said as placed his scroll on his neck. "Hey Weiss, how far are we from the academy now?"
"I don't know. We're at…." Weiss trailed off unexpectedly and for good reason as well. Because directly opposite of them, their entire group was there staring right back at them.
Clicking on the end call button on his scroll, Jaune quickly put it away as Nora and Ruby were petal bursting their way over. Yang and Blake were speeding up while Ren shrugged his shoulder as he nonchalantly walked his way over.
"Ah! Wait guys!" Jaune screamed out as he was tackled to the ground. Landing on the ground hard, he saw stars circling his head as seven pairs of eye looked down on him.
"Ruby!" Weiss shouted.
Embarrassed, Ruby hid herself in her cloak. "Sorry," she said meekly.
"Nora, I think that might've of been a bad idea." Joining in the conversation, Ren patted his partner's back. Nora in question, was pondering at the sight of Jaune; who was still on the ground this entire time.
"Ah don't sweat it Nora. Come on Jaune, up you get." Grabbing hold of his arm, Yang yanked him back onto his feet. Giving him a light dust down. "Alright you two, let the muscle ladies handle this one now," she said. Taking one of his arm and slinging it over her shoulder while Nora did the same on the opposite side.
"Even though I'm still mad at you Yang, thank you," Weiss muttered the last part out, much to the amusement of Yang.
Slapping the girl's back, making her jump in surprise and glared at her angrily. "Don't sweat it Weiss, we're a team after all and Jaune is after all, an honourary member of our family now," Yang said proudly.
"Hey, what does that mean for Oscar, Ren and I!" Earning a punch to the arm, Yang jolted as she glare over to an unhappy Nora.
"Well, I ummm….Ruby you can handle this one," Yang blurred out quickly, pushing her sister onto the podium.
"What? Yang!" Caught off guard, Ruby shouted at her sister in annoyance as Nora was now looking her way now. " Well if what Yang said about Jaune being an member of our family. It makes sense for the rest of you to be included as Jaune is the leader of your team and you're also one big happy family as well," she quickly said. Hoping it was enough to satisfied the short redhead.
Luckily for her, it was as Nora was nodding her head happily at ther response. "Ha! See Renny, we get to be honourary members as well. Isn't this the greatest ever!" she said, turning over to him who smiled back at her.
"We're already one big family, I don't see how we needed the confirmation at all. Considering the journey we all undertook to get to where we are today," Spoken like a true sage, Ren explained his point of view on the situation.
Everyone laughed merrily along but it was cut short as someone stood in their way to the front door of the building.
"Uncle?" Ruby spoke, seeing her uncle looking around unhappily.
"Hey kids, something came up and Jimmy wants to speak with all of us right now," he said. Turning on his heels and holding out the door for the eight of them to enter.
Author Note: I'll leave a spoiler for the next theme. Fomral wear.
