Kage's POV

This woodlands hunter was trying to lead me somewhere. He would swing his claws in such a way that trees would fall and force me a certain way through the forest. I tried knocking him around a few times with my shadow but he always threw a tree in the way to block me.

Every so often I could hear a trap trigger and I would have to avoid the metal of a bear trap or the noose trying to pull me into a tree. There were cages set up all over, some had bears or deer in them but most were empty.

Is he trying to lead me into one?

"Crush Claw!"

"Guard Shadow!"

I put up a defense but his claws just ripped through it.

"What?!"

He slashed and ripped my chest open.

"GAHHH!"

I grabbed my chest as it stung in pain "Shadow…Knuckle!"

I popped him under the chin and fled back behind a tree. My chest was all torn up and the shirt was ruined.

"This fricken stings." I hissed.

"I got cha!"

The tree exploded and riddled my back with splinters.

"OWWW!"

I got up and turned around

What can I do? Shadow Dome…no it'll take too long. I'll have to take him head on.

I heard another rope trip and got yanked into the air by a net.

"Shadow Blade!"

I spun and sliced the net to free myself landing back on the ground. I dodged a few swings from Scott and avoided his sharp claws.

"Snake Shadow!"

My shadow reared up and shot forward at the man, sinking its fangs into his shoulder. He cut the head off the snake and I retracted my shadow.

"Shadow Sneak!" I slid into the ground and slinked forward "Shadow Uppercut!"

I burst out of the ground and slammed into the woodsman. He stumbled back before taking his claws off and taking out a wood axe.

"RAHHH!" he yelled charging forward and swinging his axe wildly.

I bobbed and weaved in and out of his attacks before kicking the ground and making his shadow pop up and head-butt him.

"Grrrr!"

I slid back into the ground and continued popping up and landing a few hits.

"Double Uppercut!" I jumped out and slammed into Scott's neck.

He got up off the floor and rubbed his jaw. I brought up my shadow to block the swing from his axe.

"I'll cut your head off!"

I ducked under the blade and swept his legs out from under him.

"Shadow Hammer!"

My shadow morphed into a large square and pounded Scott into the dirt.

"BLEHHH!"

The man groaned as I lifted the black cube off him.

"Aright." I said clapping the dirt off my hands "That settles that…now how do I get out of here?"

Gajeel's POV

The old guy finished talking to us before he suddenly vanished and then bullet's started flying. Gray put up a shield to protect us from the flurry of projectiles.

"Iron Dragon Roar!"

I sent out a blast into the bushes where I thought the bullets were coming from but I had no luck in doing any damage to mister invisible.

"Ice Make Cannon!"

Gray shot off a blast in the other direction but still no hits.

"Sorry young chaps."

*Bang!*

I felt a bullet drill me in the shoulder. I heard another shot and caught a bullet between my metal teeth.

"Taste like shit." I said spitting it out.

"Oh a challenge, I so love a challenge." The invisible old man said.

I hear him but he sounds like he's everywhere. He's covering his scent too…he really is an expert hunter.

"Iron Dragon Club!"

I guessed again and shot my arm at the ground, hitting nothing.

"Where is he?" Gray said putting up another shield.

"Can't tell." I grumbled trying to smash the ground again "How is he invisible."

"Light distortion maybe?"

"Magic?"

"Iron Dragon Lance!" I took one side and pretreated it with my arm.

"Ice Make Impact!" Gray covered the other side but still we hit nothing.

"We covered the whole area how did we miss?"

"He's everywhere at once." I told him as a bullet hit the shield again.

"How is he hitting from the same angle each time."

Same place…

"How big you think this place is?" I asked.

"It looks like it goes on forever." Gray said.

"You see that mesa." I said "I gotta get over there."

"Why."

"Just get me over there."

Ice punk made some ice dummies and we skirted around the long way.

"There you are!"

I used the shield like a spring board and jumped to the top. I saw the old guy lying prone at the top aiming back by where we were, blowing the heads off the dummies.

The one we talked to was just a thought form.

"Iron Dragon Sword!"

"Cold Excalibur!"

The two swords slashed into the ground and blew that old fella away.

"He's done…" I mumbled.

"Now how do we get out?"

"We go up." I pointed to the sky "He called it a Dome didn't he."

"Iron Dragon Club!"

I slammed my arm into the sky and it cracked before shattering to reveal the whole thing was an illusion. We had opened the roof of the building up.

"Well this is a surprise." Gray said.

"I bet we're not the only ones stuck in one of these 'simulations." I said.

"Well this place looks pretty big." Gray said "But I only see one hallway out."

We followed that hall until we came to a door, when we opened that we were back outside, in a forest. Behind us was a big spherical building connected to multiple other buildings.

"The others must be trapped inside those places..."

"Well we should get going, break the others out." Gray said.
