Chapter 14:

"You guys should've been there! Simba really showed her who was boss!"

Kula was excitedly telling the chaotic events to Chumvi and Malka. The Mountain Lands cubs were still running around on their own, leaving time for the Pride Lands cubs.

"Aww, mini kingy stood his ground," Malka teased, nudging him.

"Shut it, Malka," he growled.

Laughing, he wrapped a reddish foreleg around Simba. "I'm just teasing ya."

They laughed it off and walked out the den together.

"Hey, guys!"

They turned to see Nina running towards them.

"Hey, what just happened?" she asked.

"Yeah, we saw you guys go over to talk to Nala and Tama, and next thing ya know you guys were arguing and she's running full speed towards the waterhole." Chaka appeared at the scene.

The Pride Lands cubs and Beleco looked at one another, then back to Nina and Chaka.

"It's a long story," Beleco sighed.

"But a great story!" Kula noted.

The cubs chuckled, before turning back to the duo.

"Lead us to the rest of you guys, and we'll tell you the story," Simba offered.

Now excited, Chaka and Nina trotted side-by-side, with the Pride Lands cubs and Beleco in tow.

As they neared the other cubs, they all stopped their chatter and bombarded the group with questions.

"Guys, calm down! They're hear now," Beleco laughed.

"Sorry," the cubs had sheepishly spoken up.

Simba laughed, and they all sat down.

"So, you guys are wondering what happened, huh?" Simba cheekily smiled.

The cubs nodded, and Kula was eager to hear the story again.

"Okay, here it goes."

Leaning in, they all listened to Simba tell the recent events.

I cannot believe that spoiled little jerk! Stupid prince! Just who does he think he is? He doesn't know a single thing about me! I should totally punch him and stupid Beleco right in their fat faces-

"Tama!"

She stopped pacing back and forth as she turned to see Nala stopping in front of her. Seeing tears of anger in the corners of Tama's eyes, she felt her guilt rack up.

"Look, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have let them stay-"

"No, you shouldn't have" was Tama's snarky remark.

Taken aback by her harsh tone, she frowned. "Why are you mad at me? I didn't know he was gonna lash out the way he did; he's never like that."

"But you know they have an issue with me," Tama quickly rebuttled, raising her voice a little.

"I didn't think this would happen!" Nala insisted.

Tama looked down for a moment. Looking back up, Nala was surprised to see Tama giving her a death glare.

Nala blinked. "You really don't believe me. I thought I was your best girl."

Tama's heart twisted. What am I doing? Nala's the realest friend I've got! She'd never hurt me.

Sighing, Tama flopped down on the ground. "I'm so sorry...I seriously don't know why I said that. I know you'd never do anything to betray me."

Nala watched as Tama looked up at her with a guilty expression. Sitting down, she placed a paw on her shoulder.

"Am I really a burden?"

Eyes wide, Nala looked at Tama. "No, of course not!"

Tama looked at her doubtfully. "Are you sure?"

Nala smiled and nodded. "You're such an awesome girl, and I'm so lucky to have met you!"

Tama didn't say anything, only lowering her gaze. Nala lifted her head and wiped her eyes. "Hey, let's go to the hidden valley. Maybe a little girl time will cheer you up."

Tama nodded, following after Nala.

That same moment, the Pride Lands cubs and Mountain Lands cubs were all playing gazelles and lions in the fields, with Nuka and Dotty as refree. This time, however, it was split between boys and girls, and Vitani, Kovu and Kiara were with them as well.

"Score 9 for the girls, score 9 for the boys!" Dotty called out.

The girls laughed and high-fived, while the boys glared at them.

"We're gonna lose," Chumvi groaned.

"No we won't, Chumvi!" Simba declared. "We just need a new tactic."

"Well, let's hear it," Kovu waited.

The lion cubs and Nuka looked at the prince.

"Well, we, uh..." Simba didn't know what to say. "Oh, I don't know, okay!"

The cubs shook their heads and Nuka facepalmed.

"Come on, guys," Nuka began. "You guys are only one point away. You guvs got this!"

The male cubs looked at each other, then back to the teen lion. "You're right. Thanks, Nuka!"

Nuka gave a small smile. "You're welcome, squirts."

His grin grew as he watched the cubs huddle together and come up with a plan.

Breaking apart, they looked at him. "We're ready!"

Getting in their positions, Nuka and Dotty stood side-by-side.

"Ready, cubbies?" Dotty called.

Both sides nodded their heads.

"And...GO!" the teens called.

The cubs ran, trying to get past each other. They gave it their all, not catching a breath. As for the outcome...

"Yeah, we did it!"

"See, I told you guys you could do it!"

Dotty and the lioness cubs pouted as Nuka and the lion cubs cheered.

"Ha! In your face, 'Bel!" Simba blew her a raspberry.

Beleco let out a playful growl as a smirk made its way onto her face. "Oh, yeah?"

"Yeah!" Simba shot back.

Beleco pounced on him, and the two tussled across the grassy field.

"Go, Simba!" Malka yelled.

"Whoop his butt, 'Leco!" Kula called out.

They tussled and tussled some more, until there was a winner.

"Pinned Ya."

The cubs laughed as Simba frowned underneath Beleco's cheeky grin.

"Hey, let me up."

Beleco stepped off of him, her cheeky grin still on her face.

"Ya know, frowning gives you wrinkles. Can't have the mini kingy looking old, eh?" Beco teased.

Everyone laughed at Simba's rosy cheeks, making teasing comment that greatly embarrassed both cubs.

Nuka looked to see the sun setting. "Hey, squirts, I think it's time we head back."

The cubs chatted away, following after Nuka and Dotty. Upon arriving, they went into the den, and chilled out until night fall.

She's going to pay.

She stole him from me, and then killed him.

I'm gonna make her suffer.

My family and I might've left, but that won't stop me.

I'm getting my revenge.

Even if someone's gotta get hurt.
