Diana's POV
"Ha~" I sighed walking through town.
I was out doing some grocery shopping; I had to stock up on juice specifically.
I was bored. Nothing cool had happened since Kanji and Erza wedding.
"That was…exciting."
I blushed thinking back to what happened…
How Meredy had kissed me and run off.
I liked the pink haired girl, she made me feel special. I had dated girls in the past but none of them made me feel like Meredy did.
But…I don't even know if she likes girls, yet alone me.
I headed back home, unlocking my door and unpacking my bags.
What would I even do if she was interested in me? I don't know where we stand because she ran off right after that kiss. She said she does work that keeps her out of town all the time…I'll probably never see her again.
*Knock!*
"One Second!" I yelled to the door.
I wonder who's here.
I opened the door.
"Hello?" I opened the door.
"Hi!" Meredy smiled.
Why is she here?
Meredy was wearing a cloak that covered most of her body but I could still see her face.
"What are you…?" I said confused.
"May I come in?' she said her smile fading and becoming serious.
"Sure, come on in." I said opening the door all the way "Would you like something to drink?
"Do you have water?"
"You bet." I said going to the fridge.
I handed her the bottle and watched it touch her soft lips.
What I'd give to be the rim of that bottle.
"So, umm, why are you here?" I asked.
"I think we should talk." She said "I think how I acted at the wedding might have given you the wrong idea."
"Oh, that." I blushed.
"I umm I'd never done that before." She said "Kiss someone."
"It's fine." I said "you don't have to act nice with me, don't worry I'm a big girl. I get denied by straight girls all the time."
"I just didn't want you to think I was that kind of girl, one who kisses people out of the blue."
"I understand." I said "I didn't think you were like that at all. I mean kissing a girl like me…you probably like boys anyway."
"I'm…I'm not sure." Meredy said.
"Huh?"
"I'd never really thought about it." She said "But it was nice. Ultear used to talk about how one day when we finally changed the world, I'd find a nice boy and become a wife to some man, but thinking back that never really appealed to me. I was always close to Ultear, and most of the men around me when I grew up were jerks…I just never knew."
"Look I'm not trying to convert you to my team." I told her.
"I've always been alone in the shadows. I've never gotten to really get close to a girl my age." She said "Sometimes I just wish I could be a normal girl…"
I smiled and moved closer to me.
"Well how about you try it?" I said.
"Huh?"
"Come get dressed, you can borrow something of mine, let's go out dancing?" I smiled.
"Wait are you…?"
"You said you thought you might like girls, you kissed me, so why don't we go out…together, on a date."
"I-I can't." she said "What if someone recognized me, Jellal and Harver would be angry."
"No one in some nightclub will care who you are." I said pulling her into my closet "Now pick out something cute, I'll be getting dressed in the other room."
"I really…"
"No buts!" I cheered "Let's party!"
A little while later
"Do I look alright?" Meredy asked "I've never really dressed up like this."
"You look perfect." I smiled.
Meredy had her long hair down, she was wearing red high heels and a bright red strapless dress that stop just at mid-thigh and also showed a conservative amount of cleavage. She had light make up on, the perfect amount to accentuate her natural features.
I was wearing a green party dress that matched my hair. It showed off the finer points of my body but didn't overdo it. It was shaped similar to the one Meredy was wearing. I also had on black heels and light jewelry.
"Come one let's go." I said.
"I'm not sure."
"You'll have fun." I told her.
I walked Meredy across town to the nightclub. There was a bit of a line but when your two cute girls it's easy to get in.
The club was blaring with music and flashing lights.
"This is what's considered fun?" Meredy yelled "I can barely hear myself think!"
"You'll get used to it!" I yelled back "Come on let's go get a drink!"
Meredy and I went to the bar, and I ordered us the most colorful, sparkly drinks.
"Here taste it." I told her "You'll love it, trust me."
Meredy took one sip and a look crossed her face "It's a little, ack, fruity."
"You'll get used to it." I said taking a seat at a table.
Meredy sipped her drink and watch the crowds dancing.
She looks uncomfortable…maybe this was a bad idea.
"Hello ladies." Some guys came up, clearly intent on hitting on us.
Meredy wasted no time looking away and hiding her face.
"What's say you two girls come dance with us." One of them said getting uncomfortably close to Meredy.
"We're not interested." I told him "Please leave us alone."
"Come on cutie."
I glared at him and flashed my guild mark on my neck "You're making my friend uncomfortable, now leave."
The man and his friends complained and wandered off.
"Sorry about that." I said "There's always some jerks."
"It's fine." Meredy said looking at the dance floor.
"Hey let's go dance." I said grabbing her hand.
"Wah?!"
I pulled Meredy onto the floor and walked in front of her. I put my arms on her shoulders and swayed my hips around. I pulled her close and twisted around her, I spun around and grinded against her, smiling at her as she was drawn close.
"This is dancing?" she said.
"It's called grinding." I said gyrating against her "I'd barely call it dancing. Now swing your hips to match up with mine."
Meredy slowly swayed and matched my movements.
"That's it, are you having fun yet?"
"This is…different." She smiled, her hands on my waist "It's fun."
I smiled back "Glad to hear that."
Meredy and I danced and partied all night long. The deeper and deeper into the night we got, the more she loosened up. She wanted to dance more and she was trying different things. Eventually we left the nightclub and, on the way, home we stopped for pizza.
Tonight, was fun, I'm glad I was able to show Meredy a good time…and I hope she just got a little taste of what it's like to be a normal girl.
We got back to my house; it was late, just after midnight.
"Boy it got late fast." I commented.
"I guess so; I should hurry and get back before Big Brother and Jellal worry."
"I didn't know you had a brother." I said.
"He's not my real brother." She corrected "I just call him that because we're close, he'll worry about me if I'm gone for much longer."
I grabbed Meredy's hand "Do you have to leave. Can't you stay a little longer?"
"I really-."
"It's late, why don't you stay here, you can leave first thing in the morning. I don't want you walking around alone this late." I said concerned.
"Diana…"
"Please?" I begged.
"It is late." she sighed "I'm sure Harver won't worry too much."
I smiled and unlocked the door.
"So did you have fun tonight?"
"Yes, it was nice." She said "Thank you."
"That's good." I smiled "You can sleep in my bed; I'll take the couch."
"No I can't put you out of your bed." Meredy said.
"It's fine." I told her "I don't mind."
"Really, why don't we just share?" she said bluntly "Ultear and I used to share sometimes."
She wants…to share a bed with me…
"Oh…okay sure." I smiled, my face bright red "That's fine."
I gave Meredy some clothes to wear as pajamas and the two of us crawled under the covers.
"Well…good night." Meredy said.
"Good night." I smiled back at her.
The two of us rolled over so our backs were to each other and started to fall asleep.
"Diana…are you awake?" Meredy asked.
"Uhh huh."
"I really did have fun tonight." She said "Spending time with you, as just a normal girl, was the best day I've ever had."
I felt the bed shift as Meredy rolled over and took my hand in hers.
"I want to show you something. Sensory Link…"
I felt a strange magic on my wrist. It made my heart feel strange, my whole body felt warm and fuzzy.
"What is this?" I asked looked at her.
Her eyes are so shiny…
"This is my magic, the ability to share emotions…"
"What feeling is this?" I asked.
"Diana…" Meredy moved closer "I like you…a lot."
I smiled back "I like you too."
"I can feel how you feel too." She said blushing.
Our faces were just inches apart but then the emotions changed.
Worry.
"That's why we have to stop." She said "I can't be with you like that."
"What? Why?"
"Because…I can't be around days like tonight would be once in a year occurrences. Being with me would only hurt your heart. You're a nice girl, and I don't want to hurt you."
I grabbed her hand and laced my fingers with her "I don't care if I only saw you once a mouth, once a season, or once a year, I'd still care about you. I've liked other girls before but not like this."
"Diana…We can't…"
I pulled Meredy's face close and kissed her. Just like that last time, her lips were soft.
"Please…" she begged when I broke the kiss "Don't make this harder for me."
"I don't care if you go across the globe." I told her "My feelings for you will never change."
"Don't say things like that…"
"Please Meredy." I begged "I don't care about any of that other stuff…I just care about you and me."
"Diana…"
"Please just let me hear you say it once." I whispered.
"I…I…"
"Please!"
"Okay…" Meredy mumbled "I'll be your girlfriend."
I felt my heart skip a beat.
"You felt that right?" I said "I felt yours too."
"You understand this will be hard." She said hugging me close.
"Of course." I told her "But I don't care…"
That night I fell asleep in Meredy's arms.
Harver's POV
The next morning.
"Where were you last night?" I asked Meredy.
"Out." She giggled "with a friend."
"I wish you had said something." I told her "I was worried."
"Of course you were." She smirked. "Hey Big Bro I realized something while I was gone."
"Hmm?"
"I like girls." She smiled.
"Hmm." I shrugged, she was so blunt about it I almost laughed "If that's what makes you happy. I'm happy you were confident enough to tell me."
"What do you think Ultear would think?"
"She's be happy." I told her "As long as you're happy she would be happy."
I put my arm around Merry's shoulder and smiled at her, she smiled back and hugged me "I miss her…"
"Yeah, I know." I rubbed her back "Me too Merry, me too."
She sighed a bit and stepped out of our hug.
"Hey bro I need a favor?"
Diana's POV
When I woke up that morning Meredy was gone. I realized that this was how our relationship was going to have to be. A few meetings a year, and she would be gone a quickly as she came. It hurt at first, I guess part of me was foolish enough to think that one night would be enough to make her stay with me forever and never want to leave, I was sad at first but then I smiled, hearing Meredy call me her girlfriend was all that mattered.

"Huh?" I looked at my windowsill, there was a pigeon there.
"Hey shoo." I said trying to brush it off.
Instead of getting out the bird flew inside.
"Hey you stupid bird the window's that way!"
*Coo*
The bird landed on the counter and pecked at its leg, there was a little scrap of paper tied to it.
"Is that for me?" I asked.
*Coo*
The bird didn't fly away when I untied the note. It was small but contained plenty of information.
Dear Diana.
This is Harrier, one of my Big Bro's carrier pigeons. He says we can use Harrier to send each other letters. Don't worry Harrier will know how to find me and get back to you, he's a smart bird, just make sure to feed him when he's at your house.
So whenever you want to talk just tie a letter to his leg and he'll bring it to me.
Your Merry.
I looked at the note, right next to Meredy's name, was a lip mark.
A letter, sealed with a kiss…
I looked at the bird.
"I guess I should get you a cage huh?"
*Coo*
