Nearly 10-year anniversary. Decided to do one more chapter. I hope this makes someone's day
CAIUS POV:
Aro was plotting. The fool thought I couldn't tell.
I COULD TELL. Subtlety isn't his strong suit.
I knew what must be done. I must pre-emptively retaliate.
The traps were set. No one else knew.
I glanced at Marcus. Maybe he knew. He somehow always knew.
"BROOOOOTHERS! I have neeeeews!" Aro sang as he entered the room.
I sat straighter in my seat excited. Any second now—
Exactly as planned, he triggered the tripwire and a boulder collapsed on his head.
Splat went Aro.
I couldn't help it, I burst into laughter.
"Well, would you look at that. Aro where he belongs. On his face."
Aro groaned as he lifted the boulder and stared death at me.
Uh oh.
Aro threw it in my direction and I scampered out of the way just in time.
"Caius!" Aro scolded as he approached, "that was very rude, I was just about to tell you- AHHHH!"
Midway through his speech, a trap door opened and down Aro went, screeching the whole way.
Finally, a loud splash was heard.
"AHHH, I'M ALL WET! HOW AM I MEANT TO INTIMIDATE THE MASSES DRIPPING WET?!"
I sniggered, satisfied with a job well done.
Marcus sighed, "Caius, how much money did you spend on this?"
I waved him off, "nothing beyond it's worth. Now, keep watching, it's not finished."
"Wait until I get my hands on you Caius!"
Would he ever stop his high-pitched crying, I wondered?
Then I heard it and my feral smile increased.
it was a low grumbling, the swishing of water, the sudden silence of Aro.
Marcus slowly turned his head and looked at me, "what is that?"
"About fifty crocodiles," I gushed.
"AHHHHHH, GET ME OUT! GET ME OUT!"
Marcus looked amazed, "Caius, I have never been prouder."
I gaped at him for a moment before beaming, "you have no idea how much that means, coming from you."
"FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS EVIL, CAIUS! MARCUS! HELP ME!"
He was promptly ignored.
"No, truly Caius, I can only admire your genius."
"No, Marcus, I am in awe of your admiration."
"IT'S BIT ME! IT'S GOT ME! AHHHHH! THERE'S ANOTHER ONE! WHY ARE THERE SO MANY?! CAIUS! MARCUS!"
I sighed, "if he was smart, he'd realise he has a full set of guards at his beck and call to help."
As though he heard him, Aro called for help, "Felix, Demetri, Jane, SOMEONE HELP ME!"
I could hear the pattering of feet and Aro being pulled from the water. I heard the stomping of Aro as he made his way back up to where we were sitting. It sounded off, as though something was wrong with his leg. I shrugged; a crocodile bite wouldn't kill him.
The door flung open and in he walked. I gawked as I watched him dragging a crocodile behind him that had refused to let go of his leg.
Not even the murderous look in his eyes could lessen my mirth.
"YOU!" he accursedly pointed his finger at me.
I crossed my arms over my chest defiantly, "me."
He marched up to me, crocodile still attached. I stood taller than him gloatingly. What could he possibly do about it?
He grabbed me, and he threw me towards the trap door.
No!
I grabbed him back at the last second and we fell along with the crocodile.
SPLASH
"ARGH!"
"AHHHHH!"
"I take it back," I barely heard Marcus mutter.
It took twenty minutes before we were assisted.
So, there we sat, solemnly avoiding each other, both missing chunks of our anatomy.
Marcus sighed, "you've neglected to tell us your news, Aro."
"Ah, yes!" Aro perked up, "the Cullen's have made an immortal child. Let's go kill them."
Silence echoed through the room.
I twitched in fury before bellowing, "LEAD WITH THAT, GODDAMN IT!"
