Kanji's POV
Having packed for the trip the eight of us, Natsu, Gray, Erza, myself, Lucy, Michelle, Wendy and Lauren headed out to meet the requestor, Warrod Sequen. With us were the cats, Happy, Carla and Scruff. The old guy who made the request lived out in the middle of nowhere so it was quite the trek.
"It's so pretty out here." Wendy smiled as we walked, the horizon sparkling in the distance.
"The air's so fresh." Lucy commented.
"Even the breeze is pleasant." Erza sighed.
"Yeah it is nice out here." I added.
"Feels like were going on a picnic." Happy smiled.
"Well we could." Scruff said.
"If it wasn't for that." Carla said gesturing to the bickering Natsu and Gray.
"Will you two stop it." Erza scolded them "We're about to meet a very important person."
"Jeez do you two do anything but fight?" Lauren groaned.
"To think we came to keep an eye on them." Lucy mumbled.
"This may be harder than we expected." I shrugged "Whatever."
"So can someone give me a reminder." Scruff said "Mr. Jura was a Wizard Saint, as is Master but, what is a Wizard Saint?"
"The Wizard Saints are 'supposedly' the ten strongest wizards in all of Fiore, Gramps is one as is Jura, and Jellal used to be one, same with Phantom's Master Jose. The four at the top are called The Gods of Ishgar " I explained.
"Sound terrifying." Scruff said.
"What's Ishgar?" Wendy asked.
"A long time ago that's what they called the continent." Lauren told her.
"Why would someone as strong as that need help from those two?" Lucy wondered.
Natsu and Gray hadn't stopped yelling at each other since we left the guild.
"Ah look there's a house." Wendy called out.
"I guess we're here." Lauren said "Finally my feet are killing me."
"Why did you wear heels?" Erza asked her.
"I needed to look good as well." She said
Lauren was wearing a long red Chinese's dress with a slit so her right leg was exposed and had a pair of black heels on.
"You knew we were walking." I said "you should have packed more practically."
"I'll be fine." She mumbled.
We walked up to the house and let ourselves in.
"Hello?" Erza called "We're from Fairy Tail."
"Sshhh." A voice said "The plants like quiet, so do them a favor and shut yer stinking traps."
We all got quiet.
"Haha! It was a joke!" an old man yelled "The plants love the voices of people."
I assumed this was Warrod, he was old, wrinkled, weathered and his head kinda looked like broccoli.
"It's a talking tree." Michelle commented "Oh sorry that was rude."
"He doesn't look very strong." Gray remarked.
Calming down from his laughter Warrod looked at us.
"Which ones of you are Natsu and Gray?" Warrod proceeded to pick up Happy and Carla "Wow you're much more feline than I expected. Ah what a great joke!"
"I think this guy's senile." Lauren whispered.
"Yeah…he seems a few trees short of an orchard." I agreed.
Our idea was all but confirmed when the old guy started drinking out of a watering can.
"Maybe he has roots in his brain?" Scruff said "Is that a thing?"
"I'm not sure." Michelle told the Exceed.
"Excuse me." Erza said stepping forward "but are you Warrod Sequen?"
"Indeed I am." The man said.
The old guy invited us outside to the front lawn. As he was walking outside, he stopped and looked at me. A strange look crossed his face.
"Something wrong Sir?" I raised an eyebrow.
"You look like…never mind my old eyes must be playing tricks on me…"
I followed him out and we all took a seat at the table outside.
"After I retired, I came here to try and bring life back to the deserts." Warrod said.
"You used to be in a guild?" Lauren asked.
"Yes but that was a long time ago." He laughed "but now I use my Green Magic to bring life to these deserts."
"That's quite the noble cause." Michelle smiled.
"I just do it for fun, it's a hobby." Warrod told her "Anyway a while back when I was trekking through the desert I found a village, according to my books it is called the Village of the Sun, that village worships an ever-burning flame."
"An ever-burning flame?" Natsu wondered.
I bet he's trying to figure out how it tastes.
"Yes but now that village is frozen, flame and all. I'm not sure if it was natural or man-made. Warrod said "I'm not sure how it happened but the people are still alive under that ice."
"What?!"
"Knowing they're still alive I can't leave them like that, which is why I requested your help."
"So you want me to melt it?" Natsu asked.
"Then why ask for me?" Gray said.
"This will require you as well." Warrod told him.
"Not to be rude." Erza spoke up "But can't a wizard with your strength solve this matter on his own?"
"I'm afraid you've misunderstood something." Warrod said "A Wizard Saint is not all powerful, my title is nothing more than a word, a formality, there are dozens of mages stronger than me in this country alone, outside of Fiore, even more. Also, my magic is not suited for attacking; I doubt I could win against spirted young folks like yourselves."
"Everyone has strengths and weaknesses." Warrod explained "That is why guilds exist."
"Hmmm." I hummed to myself.
"You're right." Erza smiled.
"We'll do it." Natsu cheered.
"Leave it to us." Lucy told him.
"So where is this place?" Lauren asked.
"About 2000 kilometers south of here." Warrod explained.
"That's quite the walk." Michelle said.
"Bet you regret wearing heels now." Happy joked at Lauren.
"Shut it cat."
"Well I can help with that." Warrod said "Gather your things over there."
We all put our things in one place.
"Now turn right…"
We did.
"HA! That was a joke."
"Knock it off!" I snapped.
I suddenly felt like I was lifted off the ground, when I looked down I saw the grass was growing into a large plant.
"Wow!"
"What is this?!"
"Good Luck." Warrod smiled.
This little tree stood up and started shooting us across the country.
This is insane! A magic that can control nature itself…weak my ass.
When the tree came to a stop, we had landed in a frozen village.
"This is so weird." Lauren said.
"He wasn't kidding, everything is frozen solid." Lucy said.
"Warrod had mentioned people." Erza said "But I don't see anyone."
"Hmm?"
"What is it Natsu?" I asked.
We all followed his eyes and saw where all the people were, they were giants their frozen forms towering over us.
"WHOA!"
"They're huge!"
"This is a village of giants!" I yelled.
"Something wrong Gray?" Lucy asked.
"It's nothing."
"To think such large people, exist." Erza said walking next to me.
"Even the dogs are big." Wendy pointed out.
"Any way we should help them out." Natsu said.
Natsu tried his best to just heat up the ice but that didn't work. Gray said that he couldn't tell what the ice was, just that it wasn't normal.
"Seems someone bet us to the punch."
Erza and I turned around and saw three men at the top of a building.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"A guild of treasure hunters, Sylph Labyrinth." The first said
"A guild of treasure hunters, Sylph Labyrinth." The second repeated.
"Thanks I got it the first time." I told them.
"Treasure hunters?" Wendy asked.
"I guess they hunt treasure." Scruff nodded.
"I had enough of hunters the other week." Michelle sighed.
"Sorry but the treasure that's sleeping here is ours." The one man with long hair said.
"Treasure? Who cares about that?" Natsu and Gray said.
"Then why are you here?"
"We're gonna melt the ice and free the village." Happy told them.
"That'll get in our way!" they yelled.
"The Eternal Flame that burns in this village is a super rare S-class treasure." The hunter explained "The giants are always protecting it, but this is our chance to snag it while they're immobilized."
"That flame is the God of this village." Lauren said "Taking it would really piss them off. Which is why I'm guessing you want them to stay frozen, to avoid their anger."
"We can't just walk away from Treasure!"
"What kind of men would we be?!"
"DUN!"
"Hurry up we gotta get that treasure before these wizards get in the way." They yelled running off.
"The Flame is frozen too." Gray told them.
"Don't underestimate us." The black haired one said "With this rare treasure the Moon Drip we can melt that ice."
"How'd they get their hands on that?" I wondered.
"That's the stuff Lyon was using back on Galuna Island." Lucy reminded us.
"Hey if we have that we can free the village." Natsu pointed out.
"Hurry up and catch them!" Gray yelled.
The others ran off, leaving me and Erza behind.
"Well I guess we can look around for a bit." I said "Maybe we can figure out how this happened."
"Sounds like a plan." My wife said.
A little puzzle solving led Erza and I to the top of a nearby mountain, the supposed location of the Eternal Flame, but nothing was there.
"Well this sucks." I mumbled.
"Are you feeling alright?" Erza asked me "Your voice sounds all funny."
I looked back at Erza to say something and just stared at her.
We both gulped.
"Why are you so small?"
"I could ask you the same thing…"
"AHHHHH!"
"What the hell happened?!" I yelled.
"I don't know, you tell me why we look like kids?!" she said.
For some reason Erza and I both looked like eight year olds.
"This is no good." Erza said as I helped her off the floor "I'm not used to moving around like this."
"What your center of gravity off?" I asked gesturing to her chest "You know…without you lady bits?"
"Just-Just shut up!" Erza pouted "You're stuck like this too!"
"Well then let's try and find a way back to normal." I told her.
We realized in this state our magic was pretty much useless.
"You two look just pathetic."
We both turned and saw a familiar face strolling over.
"Minerva!"
"Did you do this?" Erza asked.
"No that would be my partner." She said.
"That mark." I said looking at her waist "Succubus Eye is a dark guild, a fairly minor one though."
"Strength is all that matters, I plan on working my way higher." Minerva explained.
"So you've turned to the darkness." Erza said "How unfortunate. You've lost your pride as a wizard."
"Enough talk, let's resume our fight."
Lauren's POV
"Where are Erza and Kanji?" I asked Wendy.
"They stayed back to look for clues." She said.
The treasure hunters suddenly split up, surprising me.
"We can't let some puny wizards get in our way, eliminate the competition."
"Treasure hunting is dangerous, DUN."
"Our jobs are dangerous too." Natsu told them.
"If you wanna fight let's be quick about it." Gray smirked.
"Alright!" Natsu went to attack but the guy with the big head slammed a hammer down.
"Whoa!"
That Hammer's shaped like a fist.
"Fire Dragon Iron Fist!"
Natsu punched the hammer but the hand closed around him, allowing the DUN guy to throw him.
"Ice Make Lance!"
Gray shot a hurl of lances but the other guy used his sword to cut them apart.
"Eat This, Chain Blade!"
The guy pulled a lever and his sword got longer.
"Whoa there!"
I used my heel to catch the sword and push it away. I was about to attack again when the air changed.
I turned when I heard a gunshot ring out.
"A sniper…"
"Nice dodge but next time I won't miss!"
Where is he, I can't get a spot on him with the echo.
"Sagittarius!"
Lucy summoned one of her spirits, a horse guy to combat the sniper.
"These guys are pretty good." Natsu pointed out.
"They're not too bad." I said "Especially since they don't use magic."
"Go home we don't have time for some wizards." The sniper said.
"We're not just some wizards." Michelle told him "See I got your bottle already."
"What how?!"
"My vines." The girls smiled as the plants wriggled behind him.
"Drake shoot her!"
"Sagittarius!"
The arrow and the bullet hit each other and stopped.
"Give it back you little thief." The guy said pointing a sword at her.
"No." Michelle said changing into her battle outfit and pointing her sword back "Don't even try it."
The chain blade shot out and Michelle threw the bottle to Gray, who threw it to me, I threw it to Natsu, and her threw it to Lucy. The Moon Drip made its way around to Wendy, Carla and Scruff, it was all set to go to Happy when the blue cat dropped it.
"EHHHHHHHH?!"
"I'm sorry." Happy pouted.
"But look…" Lucy pointed out "It only managed to melt that little spot."
"It wouldn't have worked from the start." I said "What a shame."
"What's wrong Natsu?" I heard Happy ask.
"I hear something…a voice." He said staring off.
Natsu suddenly ran off leaving us in the dust.
"Wait you moron!" Gray yelled.
"Come on let's follow them." Lucy said.
"Right!"
The boys quickly out ran us forcing all the girls to fall behind.
I really gotta ditch these heels, but the frozen ground would give my feet frostbite if I took them off now.
"Kyaa!"
"Are you alright Wendy?" Lucy asked.
"Sorry I slipped on the ice." She said wiping her face off.
"It's fine." I said helping her up.
The cats had flown off to look in the sky but they weren't back yet.
"Umm something is bother me." Wendy said.
"Yeah me too." Michelle pointed out.
"What is happening over there?"
Two of those hunters were trying to pass themselves off as Happy and Carla.
"Come on that's just sad." I sighed
"We've been found out! I guess we'll have to fight." The men said.
"We don't really want to fight." Wendy said "We just want to save the giants."
"Who cares about them." The man with the sword said "They're just in the way!"
He took a big slash out of the giant's leg.
"Knock it off." I said walking forward "Before I get pissed."
"I'll do whatever I want." He lifted his sword again.
"STOP!"
Wendy roared and blew the man away.
"DUN!"
The big guy swung the hammer and I lifted my leg and blocked the hammer.
"Whoa!" Wendy said "She stopped it with one leg."
I flipped around and pushed the hammer away and drilled the guy with a kick.
"I may have Sun Dragon Magic, but I've been studying Martial Arts since I could walk." I told the men "My kicks can shatter skulls, do you really wanna take on my Sun Dragon Style?"
"I won't be beat but some fast footwork." The man with the sword said.
He swung and me but Michelle stepped up and blocked it with her sword. I did a back flip kick and drilled the big head, quickly I attacked with a flurry of magic infused kicks to follow up., I was a shining glimmer of light.
I flipped back and held one leg up.
"Had enough?" I asked.
Behind me I could hear a series of gunshots that Lucy and Wendy were avoiding. Michelle was blocking sword strikes from the other man while I stared down the big fella.
"We men can easily beat a few mere women." They said.
"Better think again, are you sure you really wanna say that?" I smirked.
"Kya!"
I looked back to see Wendy had fallen over.
"Got ya!"
"Wendy!"
I saw the bullet screech pat and was about to hit Wendy.
*PSST!"
The bullet was stopped in midair.
"No way…" I said stunned seeing that the bullet was stopped dead in it's tracks by flaming hair.
"Flare!"
"What was that?" my friend asked "You said something about mere women?"
