Lauren's POV
"Ummm Thank you." Wendy whispered to Flare.
"What are you doing here?" Lucy and I both asked.
"I was stalking Blondie." Flare said.
"HUH?!"
"Just kidding…With no place to go I went back…" she frowned.
"Went back?" I asked.
"Yes, to my home." Flare explained "This mark on my chest, is the crest of Sun Village."
"Wait so this place is your home town?" I asked.
"When I was young, I was abandoned and taken in by the Giants." Flare said "And when I came home, I found my people like this, it's unforgivable!"
"Whoa wait we didn't freeze those guys!" the man with the sword said.
"We're just here for the Eternal Flame DUN."
"And that's no better!" Flare said shooting her hair at the men "That Flame is the protector of this village; I won't let you tamper with it!"
"Move aside." The man with the sword came up and slashed through Flare's Hair.
"My Hair!"
"Cancer!"
Lucy's Spirit used its magic to lengthen Flare's hair.
"Huh?"
"We came to protect the Giants." Lucy explained.
"We'll help you." Wendy told her.
"Let's all work together." Michelle smiled.
"It'll be just like the god old days." I smiled stepping up to Flare "You know, like a month ago, two of Raven Tail's Strongest coming back at ya!"
Flare threw her hair around and knocked the sword guy away.
"DUN!"
I flipped up to avoid the hammer.
"Sun Dragon Style: Double Talon Spear!"
I kicked both my feet down and planted the hammer in the dirt. I placed my hands down and spun on the hammer.
"Solar Vortex Roundhouse!"
I spun around and drilled the guy in the side of the head with a hard kick. Behind me I saw Lucy spirit get hit with a bullet.
Of course, that old school bow couldn't best a rifle.
Michelle ran up and started trading sword strikes with the hunter. Her swordsmanship was good but so was his as the two quickly reached a stalemate.
"Wolf Fang Hair!"
Flare's hair took the shape of a wolf and charged at the man but he sliced through it easily.
"Measly hair won't stop us!"
"This hair was a blessing bestowed upon me by the Eternal Flame." Flare explained "Firefly Hair!"
The tufts of Flare's hair that had been cut ignited and exploded into a bright fire.
"Hiroshi!"
I guess that was his name…I should get back to my fight.
"HYA!"
Wendy tried to get an attack in but she got snatched up by the hand on the mallet. I took a look around, in seconds things had gone south quick, Flare's hair was tied up, Lucy was being shot at and Wendy was stuck in the mallet. Hiroshi had his sword at Flare's throat now that she was immobilized as well.
"Big Sis…" Michelle mumbled.
If I in rush stupidly someone will get killed…If I was still in Raven Tail that might be okay but I'm not that kind of person now…
"See its ten years too early for mages like you to be picking a fight with us!" Hiroshi said.
"Hahaha." I let out a quiet laugh "That's funny handsome."
I looked up and him and smiled "Cause it's a century too early for you to pick a fight with just me, yet alone five mages."
I collected myself and looked up with determination.
"Michelle!" I called out.
"Right."
The girl lifted her shield and boosted me into the air.
"Sun Dragon Style: Refractory Kicks!"
I kicked my legs and covered the battle field in a series of light blasts.
"I can't see!"
I flipped up on the big guys back and stuck my legs under his arms. I threw all my weight forward, flipping him head over heels.
"Sunset Flip!"
Once I dropped him, I bolted over to Hiroshi like a streak of light, I kicked him in the stomach, making him double over.
"OHHH!" he groaned.
I put one leg above his head and the other under, as I closed them quickly.
"Solar Scissor Kick!"
"WAHHH!" I looked back to see the sniper flying right at me.
"Try not to look up my dress okay." I smirked.
I dropped low and raised one foot to meet the man.
"Sun Dragon's Super Kick!"
"Easy as pie." I smiled as the dust settled.
"Wow." Lucy said observing the damage "You're really good."
"You combined your Martial Arts skills with your magic." Wendy said "It's kinda like Bacchus fighting style."
"Yeah you could say that." I nodded "I infuse my kicks with the light of the sun."
"They don't look like they'll be getting up soon." Michelle said changing back to her normal form.
"So why did you come here?" Lucy said.
"When I was little I lived here." Flare explained "But I didn't like being the only one different, so I left, before that I had never seen a person the same size as me…it was terrifying, that's how I ended up like this, a nervous wreck…"
"This is where I came in right." I said snapping my fingers "The story gets good here."
"Yes." Flare nodded.
Three Years ago.
"Why do I have to go out shopping?" I mumbled "Can't daddy send other people to do this, I'm the guild master's daughter, and I'm entitled to having people wait on me. When I get older…and even more beautiful I'll convince the annoying boys to do it for me."
I looked down and my flat chest "I just have to actually hit puberty for that to work."
I took a deep breath "You're fourteen Lauren you have plenty of growing to do."
I went around to various stalls of the picked up the various fruits and vegetables on the list.
"Hey what do you think you're doing thief!"
"I'm sorry. I didn't know."
I walked over to see what the problem was. A crowd had gathered around some girl.
"This girl tried to steal from me."
"I…I…" she stuttered as the crowd was getting restless.
"This is what we do to thieves!"
The man kicked the girl in the arm, splitting the skin on her shoulder.
"AHHHH!"
"You want more?"
I stepped up and stopped the man's foot with my own.
"You made your point." I said "She apologized so let it go."
The crowd dissipated and I helped the girl up.
"Hey you alright."
She just looked away.
"Hey we should look at that shoulder." I said "That's a bad cut. Why don't you come with me?"
The girl just nodded, I held her hand and we walked back to the guild.
"I'm Lauren, what's your name?" I asked.
"Fl...r…e"
"I'm sorry what was that?" I said "I didn't hear you."
"Flare…" the girl mumbled.
"That's a pretty name." I smiled.
We got back to the guild and I brought Flare to my room.
"Let's clean that cut." I said grabbing a first aid kit.
I got stuff out and wet a rag.
"This might sting a bit." I said dabbing the cloth.
"Hee…" the girl bit her lip.
"Sorry, but it's a disinfectant and it'll keep it from getting infected."
"Okay…"
"So." I said wiping the blood off her shoulder "Why were you stealing?"
"I didn't know you had to pay."
I laughed to myself "Really? You have to pay for almost everything."
"Oh…well…I don't have money…I don't even know how you make money…"
I got a bandage out to wrap the girl's shoulder.
"I think this might scar." I said "he must have had steel toes boots."
"It's okay."
"So how old are you?" I asked wrapping her shoulder.
"Fourteen." She mumbled.
"Really, me too." I smiled.
I looked down and saw the girls dress…and then her chest.
She's fourteen?!
"Is something wrong?" Flare asked me.
"Life is so unfair." I mumbled.
Once I finished wrapping up Flare's shoulder I put the kit away.
"So what are you going to do now?" I asked.
"I don't know…I don't really have any place to go."
"You said you needed some money right." I said "Why don't you stay here with me, join my guild."
"What's a guild?"
"Well this will take a while…"
Back in the Present.
"I joined Raven Tail to stay close to the first friend I ever made." Flare said "I didn't know any better, I thought hating Fairy Tail was what was normal."
"That was my fault." I explained to the other three girls "That's what I was raised to believe."
"It's okay." Wendy smiled "We're all friends now."
"So you decided to go back home after we saw you the other day?" I said.
"Yes." Flare said starting to tear up.
I put my hand on the leg the hunters attacked and smiled "Don't be so upset they're still alive we can save them."
"Maybe the Eternal Flame can melt the ice." Flare said standing up "I'll show you where it is."
