Kanji's POV
"Morning handsome." Erza said kissing me as I walked into the kitchen.
"What's got you in such a good mood?" I asked.
Erza just shrugged "I'm not sure…I have the feeling something interesting will happen today."
"Great." I sighed "Just when everything was starting to feel normal again."
"Don't get all worked up, maybe it will be good." Erza smiled before putting a hand on her stomach "We have been trying lately; maybe today will be the day."
"Maybe." I said kissing her on the forehead.
"I love you." Erza smiled.
"Love you too." I smiled back "Come on let's go to the guild."
Later.
When we got to the guild Erza headed straight over and informed Gramps of how the last job went including the updates about Minerva.
"Anything on her Father?" Gramps asked
"Nada." I sighed "He's up and vanished, some Master he ended up being."
"I heard that Sting became the Sabertooth Master." Laki said
"He's still young to be a Guild Master isn't he." Kinana added.
"Not our guild not our problem." I shrugged.
"I'm going to send them a letter." Erza said "Informing them of this incident."
"We should probably tell the council too." Kage added "Can't hurt."
"Seems like events are starting to line up." Lauren commented.
"What do you mean?" Flare asked her.
"E.N.D, Minerva, the warning about Tartarus…this feeling in the pit of my stomach I don't like it." Lauren said "too much news piling up at once leaves a bad taste in my mouth."
"Hey!" Jet said running in "You gotta see this!"
"What are you yelling about?" Gajeel said taking the paper "No way…"
"What is it?" Gramps said picking up the paper and getting an angry look "It seems you were right dear."
"Gramps?"
He showed us the paper the headline read "Council obliterated."
"No way…" We all just looked at it stunned.
"Impossible." Erza said.
"I guess we found out what all these premonitions were about." I groaned "Gears are turning, and I don't like it."
"Something bothering you?" Erza asked me.
"Seems like we're about to get dragged into something big." I shrugged "I don't like it. Where's Laxus?"
"Out." Michelle said "He went on a job with his friends."
"Hmm…he should hurry back." I walked off "I have a feeling we'll need every person we can get."
Something bad, I can feel it…
"It's late Erza let's just go home." I mumbled.
"Of course Dear."
A following Day.
I was about to head out for the guild with Erza when someone started banging on my door.
"What?" I groaned at Jet.
"You need to go to the guild." He said looking serious.
"Jet?"
"Just go." He said looking away from me "Don't waste time."
I don't like this…
"Erza I'm leaving!" I called out "I'll see you at the guild okay!"
"I'll be right down."
Erza trotted down the stairs.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
"I'm not sure, but something is."
By the time Erza and I got to the guild a crowd had long since formed.
Shit…
"Kanji!" Lauren yelled running up to me, she looked upset.
"What's up?"
She hugged me; she was trembling.
"Lauren?"
"It's Laxus…" she sniffed "It's really bad…."
I looked at Erza and she buzzed off leaving me with my sister.
"Hey, it's alright, I need you to calm down and tell me what happened." I told her walking to the side..
It must be bad if no one will even come near me…
"So…ready to talk?" I smiled at her.
"Well someone attacked the restaurant they were working at." Lauren said "a demon, they wanted Mr. Yajima. I guess the demon blew himself up and scattered toxic Magic Barrier Particles all over…Laxus tried to stop it, but only made himself worse. Freed, Ever and Bickslow aren't doing too well either, same for Mr. Yajima."
I'll kill'em…
"Alright." I said hugging her "We'll get through this."
I don't know, but right now it's all I can do is hope.
I wasn't allowed in the infirmary, Gramps filled me in on the rest of the story, a whole town, annihilated, wiped out, whatever you wanna say to describe the piles of people sick or dead from those particles.
Even everything Laxus had…wasn't enough.
"How are they." Gramps asked the old lady as she exited the infirmary.
"For now they are fine." She told us "I'm actually surprised they're alive. They're bodies have been ripped apart by the particles. Just a drop could kill the average person. I'm not sure if they will ever recover…Laxus has it the worst, it's nothing short of a miracle that he is still breathing right now."
"Can I go in?" I asked her.
"You can, for now Family only, is that clear?!" she yelled at the crowd.
"Yes Ma'am!"
Gramps, Lauren, Erza and I went in. God it was bad. I've never seen people struggling like that, I have no idea how they were alive. I never wanted to see this, it was like they could barely breath.
Laxus is supposed to be strong…not a quivering mess in a hospital bed.
"Hey…" Erza said laying her head on my shoulder "It'll be okay…"
"Mhm." I just mumbled back; I didn't really feel like talking.
For some reason for a while I didn't feel anything, no sadness, no anger, I was just numb. Lauren got sick of sitting there and saw herself out, Erza and the old man followed. I sat there, staring at a wall.
"Ugh."
I looked over and saw Freed, somehow, was awake.
"Don't get up." I told him "You need to rest, it's the only way you might get better."
He just looked at me.
"Laxus…saved that town."
"Yeah I know, I heard you brought everyone back here…great…great job Freed." I lowered my head.
Dammit not now!
"That town…"
"Is…fine…" I mumbled biting my lip "You just…get some s-sleep." I said closing the door.
As soon as I heard the latch click, I lost it.
"AHHHAHHH!" I screamed against the ground.
I don't remember the last time I cried like that, probably when Laxus left, or when Erza tried to sacrifice herself at the tower.
"Hey." Erza said holding me "Sshhh…I'm here."
Her put her arms around me and hugged me tight as I cried against her.
"I was listening…" she said "Why did you lie to him?"
"Because…it would break his heart if he knew the truth, and right now…they need all the strength they can got, not wasting it sobbing over a lost village."
And maybe…deep down…that's what I wanted to hear too.
After a few minutes the tears stopped, then my emotions did a 180. I trudged around, walking right passed the old man.
"Grandpa…"
Then I snapped and heard a bolt of lighting strike the tower of the guildhall.
"I'm gonna KILL THEM ALL!"
Apparently, I wasn't the only one who was pissed off, Natsu was raring to go as well. Lauren was all sorts of twitchy and it seemed like everyone was gearing up for what was going to come.
"Dammit." I said "We don't know anything, the only person I've ever know who knew a single thing about Tartarus was Harver, and he only said that they made someone he loved a monster."
"We don't even know where to go Natsu." Lucy said "So calm down."
"Well doesn't she know?" Natsu said looking at Michelle.
"How many times do I have to tell you people I know nothing about Tartarus!"
"Right now the only thing we know is that they're after members of the magic council." Kage said "Not a lot to go on."
"Maybe it is." Gray said "What if we go to the homes of the council, they're bound to come knocking sooner or later."
"The addresses are top secret; we can't get our hands on them." Macao told him.
"I guess it is smart to protect their identities, prevent criminals from coming to get them." Carole nodded.
"It just makes our jobs more difficult." Scruff sighed.
"Seems like we reached a stalemate." Cana groaned.
"No, not really.
We all turned around and saw Loke was here.
"I know where they are, well some not all." He shrugged.
"Loke?"
"Why do you know that?" Wendy asked.
*Mumble…whisper…*
Wendy started blushing.
"No doubt a woman." Lucy groaned "Should have guessed that much myself."
Loke marked a map with locations.
"This is the Four I know of."
"It's a start." Gramps said "We'll split into teams and go protect the members, try and get any additional information you can."
"If you find the one who attacked Laxus see if you can get a sample of it's blood, I think I can create a vaccine with that." Porlyusica explained.
"Make them regret making you there enemy." I told the others "They're strong, but we're stronger!"
We sent off four teams.
Natsu, Lucy, Wendy and Michelle.
Gajeel, Shadow Gear and Lauren.
Gray and Juvia
And Elfman and Lisanna.
I was laying back, waiting for a location, so I could rain lighting down upon them.
