This wasn't really inspired by anything in specific, so I guess song inspiration is where it's at. My Little Secret by Xscape, but a man's POV. I might actually turn this into a full story if I have enough inspiration.

Jake is a famous actor, whilst Calleigh works from home as the CEO of her own company. Eric is their personal mechanic/gardener.

This wasn't supposed to turn into an Eric/Ryan inclusive thing too, but I just really like the idea of the bi!Eric headcanon. The title is a double meaning for both the extra-marital affair and Eric's crush on this guy he meets ;) .

the other man

"He'll never guess in a million years,
That we've got this thing going on."

This was not right coming from Eric of all people. Being the side piece to a powerful woman like Calleigh, going behind her husband's back like this. He should know better than to come over to the main part of the mansion when Mr Berkeley was away and entertain her. Considering he lived in the gardeners' quarters on the other side of the house, it was a big risk being able to get in and out of the master bedroom without getting caught.

Eric had a job to do that required him to be outside most of the time, without reason for being anywhere near the house unless he was driving the car up the drive. The only person who really ever spoke to him outside of his extra-marrital affair with Mr Berkeley's wife was Calleigh's friend, Ryan. He worked as a stunt double, having just graduated from Miami University. He didn't care what Calleigh did in her personal life, although, he did have his suspicions about the affair. But Ryan wouldn't tell Jake. Both Calleigh and Eric knew that he wouldn't waste his time taling the guy. He preferred to stay in the lab working on new physics equations to increase the level of his stunts.

Sometimes Eric thought about trying to impress him. Being openly bisexual, Delko wasn't completely cutting himself off from a chance to find someone while sleeping with the man's wife. He saw Ryan kneeling on the paving, drilling on the screws to put together a makeshift ramp - however - it didn't look like something he'd come up with. Wolfe had the mind of a creator. This looked like an average inventor came up with this and definitely didn't fit his style.

"Who are you building for? I thought your job was to manage finances and count Calleigh's guns." Eric said, biting his bottom lip as he slowly walked towards him.

"I hired an accountant. Jake wants to me to build him a ramp so he can test his new motorcycle, and since Cal is his wife.. I didn't really have a choice." Ryan replied. "You're Eric, aren't you?"

"I am."

The Cuban was glad someone finally knew him as his actual name, instead of "Delko". Ryan got up, standing back to unwillingly look at his least favourite piece. "Suppose you could help me?" Eric's eyes widened. The younger man couldn't help smiling at his nervousness. It was actually kinda cute. Wolfe grabbed Eric's wrist and pulled him around so he could see it better. "What do you think?"

"It's pretty cool. But Cal wouldn't allow this if she knew, I know that for a fact."

"You may be sleeping with her, Ricky," Wolfe let go of his wirst and handed him a large piece of paper, "but this affair won't last long."

Ricky? Eric felt his skin tingling from where Ryan had held his arm. He shook off the feeling, focusing his eyes on the plan in front of him. The mathematical physics equations were in different handwriting to the printed plans. That must've been what Jake was using him for, like a behind-the-scenes choreographer for these "stunts" he wanted to do. He'd know how to calculate these things as a professional.

"What do you mean 'won't last long'?.. um, you never actually told me your name."

"Jake tried to murder Cal's ex-lover a few years back. He shot him in the leg, served half his ten year sentence in Dade County just to regain his status as a hotshot actor. The lover, Jesse, moved to California and was never heard from again." Ryan explained, skeptically looking around to make sure nobody was looking. 'Watch your back' is basically what he said.

Eric slowly nodded. So if Jake ever found out that he was pleasing his unhappy wife, he would kill him? Possessive much?

"And about my name.. I'm a stunt double, Eric. It doesn't matter what my label is when I'm just somebody else's in-role actor doing what they can't do as well."

The Cuban carefully took a step closer, invasive to his personal space since he already got the introverted personality from him. "Just something I can call you other than the cute daredevil with the mind of a scientist." But immediately regretted what had come out of his mouth, considering that his business wasn't with the stunt man - it was with the wife of a rich actor that he did labor for in exchange for a pretty good salary.

"Coming from a hot mechanic doing his boss's wife? I'll take it. But we really should figure this shit piece out."

Internally, he felt like dying. Having the decency to openly make a sly move on Calleigh's friend. His family had barely accepted him coming out as bi. But it's like they said, this affair wasn't exclusive and Calleigh definitely wasn't just messing around with him. He heard rumors she flirted with anyone she could find to avoid the loneliness of an empty house when Jake flew to Alaska for filming. Even the maid.

Eric put his gloves on and began working on the parts Ryan couldn't quite hack in attempt to avoid the hole he'd dug himself going into this conversation.

"And by the way," Ryan whispered as he reached over him to reach for the hammer. "My name's Ryan." Ryan. I like the way that sounds.

"Nice to meet you, Ryan."

"You too, Eric."
