Kage's POV

So this thing is a demon…looks kinda hunched but I think I can take him.

"You guys have great timing." Lucy smiled as Laki freed her from the wool.

"No problem, just glad we made it."

"Wendy was sure in a hurry." I pointed out "She's heading out?"

"She went to stop FACE because it activated already." Lucy explained.

"Dammit…and we still need to get Mirajane back too." I hissed "It just gets more complicated."

"Quit ignoring me!" the demon yelled.

I got drilled with a punch and launched back.

"KAGE!"

I slid to a stop, looked up and saw that the hunchback looked more bovine in nature.

"He absorbed Taurus and Aries." Lucy said.

"I don't like people stealing from my friends" I glared "Give'em back."

"Not a chance." He smirked.

"Then I'll just kick your ass till you do, Snake Shadow!"

I shot my shadow forward but had to pull it back when the demon half spit out Aires.

Dammit he's messing with me.

"Knuckle Shadow!"

This time he tried tricking me with Taurus but I still slammed my attack into him.

"A dark mage has no qualms hitting the enemy. You tripped me up for a second but I won't hold back again." I glared.

"Shadow Uppercut!"

I jumped out of the floor and punched him into the air.

"Wood Make: Violent Approach!"

Laki shot a spiked ball out the collided with him and knocked him close to me again.

"Hydra Shadow!"

My multi-headed shadow bit down on the demon and threw him into the floor.

"Wood Make: Floor of Stinging Needles!"

The baddie fell onto Laki's spikes and yelled in pain.

"Give up yet." I said throwing him into a wall with my shadow "We're really not in the mood for your games."

"Stupid punk." The demon said standing up "I'll show you the depths of my souls."

The body of the demon changed again, resulting in a fairly dumb look rendition of Master Hades from Grimoire Heart.

"How the hell did you get that?" I mumbled "And knock it off you look stupid."

"Seven Years ago I found this body and absorbed its soul, that of a powerful Dark Guild Master."

"So what." I dashed forward "My guild beat him the first time so we can do it again no problem!"

"Shadow Drill!" I whipped the darkness around and threw the demon back.

"Do you really think you can do it alone?!" he laughed.

I got blasted back and hissed in pain.

Shit he's right, Natsu had his whole team and they struggled I can't do this with just me and Laki can I? I can't give up yet!

I slipped into the ground and shot forward.

"This soul has the power of Abyss magic!" Franmalth yelled.

I was pulled out of the ground by a crude chain.

"What the-?!" I hissed

"Kage!"

"YAAHH! Shadow Glaives!"

I spun around and cut the chain.

"I've got you now! Connection Line!" The demon yelled grabbing me "Your soul is mine!"

"AHH!" I yelled as he started sucking out my soul.

"No it's mine Wood Make: Tumbling Down the Mountain!"

A collection of wooden blocks fell from the ceiling and knocked me free.

"Thanks…" I said catching my breath "Shadow Dome!"

I slapped the floor and closed us inside a black bubble. I skipped around the room, dodging the strikes of the demon.

I have to crush the dome and put him down…I can't risk getting caught because this time Laki can't help me.

"Shadow Dome Crush!"

The walls caved in and drilled the demon with a flurry of junk shadow shapes.

I got him…

"Did you really think it would be that easy?" he said getting back up.

"No way…" I shook in frustration "I barely…made a scratch."

"I'll take your soul now!"

"Shadow Wall!"

I erected a block to protect myself but still felt my body grow weak.

He's draining my soul through my magic…shit…

"LAKI!" I yelled "I could use a hand here!"

The girl slapped her hands against the ground "Let's try this…"

"Wood Make: Embrace of Death!"

A large wooden scythe appeared. It was decorated with a wooden skull and sharp blade.

"Shadow Coating." I reached out and took it.

The wood was covered in a sharp darkness like it had been painted black.

"What are you trying to pull?"

"The Reaper has come to punish you!" I dashed forward and cut through the demon "Wooden Death Scythe!"

The cut I delivered opened a hole in the armor.

"Shadow Grip!" I reached my shadow hands in and started yanking out souls, I feed Lucy's spirits and some others to weaken the demon.

"I refuse to lose!"

I jumped up and spun the scythe around.

"Be dragged to darkness!" I made a vertical slice,

"What is this…the Grim Reaper! Why can't I absorb it…?"

Cause its just some plain old wood…

"Pitch Black Death!"

The was a blast of magic and the air settle, before being filled with tiny wisps…souls…

"He's done." I smirked.

"Yes!" Laki yelled before hugging me.

"Now we just have to put our hopes in Wendy." Lucy said.

"Scruff went with her, she'll be fine, he won't let himself fail a mission." I said catching my breath

"The fight is not over…."

We all turned around.

"You…"

"Hades!"

"Their goal was never FACE, Tell Makarov, he must let the light shine forth."

And just like that he disappeared.

"We should go find the others, I said it's the safest move for now and find Mira too."

We're putting our Faith in you Wendy, I know you can do this.
