Writer's Note:

The blue blur visits an island he's never been to before, an island full of faces he's heard of but never really met, an island of living, figurative Easter Eggs.

As I have said multiple times, I do not own Sonic or any of the other characters who appear in the story. Hope you all enjoy...

Sonic sat upon a Japanese bench in the park, looking at a map of the planet in his hands, studying it as he thought about all of the places he'd visited in his previous adventures and wondered where he could go next.

Over the last few years, he'd ventured into ancient ruins, countless cities and seen many tropical locations. But was there a place he hadn't visited yet? Sonic had explored so much of the world, was he getting tired of all that adventuring?

The hedgehog scratched his chin as he began looking at the ocean, looking at various islands and mentally checked off all the locations he'd visited. Then, one piece of land caught his eye, something he'd almost never seen before.

Looking closer at the small landmass located in the Pacific area, he saw it was covered by a cloudy haze. Taking note to the wording on it, Sonic could make out the words: Kam'yo Island. 'Kam'yo Island, huh?' Sonic thought, 'I wonder what it's about.'

Rolling up the map, he stood from the bench and raced off to find a travel guide somewhere in town and ask about the place. As luck would have it, the hedgehog found a man in a travel guide uniform at a world travel booth.

"Excuse me?" Sonic asked, "What do you know about a place called Kam'yo Island and can you give me directions on how I can get there?"

The man chuckled and handed him a piece of paper with numbers and words on it, "Of course sir. Just follow these directions and you're there."

"Even though I can run across the ocean, I may need a boat."

"Of course, sir. You sure do need a boat."

Finding a boat to take wasn't that hard, especially when Sonic was fast and knew where to go, thanks to the travel guide's instructions. The hedgehog zipped over to the docks and, in seconds, he found his ride.

That ride, of course, was a white yacht-like motorboat with the words Kam'yo Island Express etched on the sides of it. "Oh yeah," Sonic said with delight, "This is totally happenin'."

He walked aboard, entered the pilot's house and found the keys laying on the dashboard just waiting for him. Given that there was nobody else to operate the boat, it was up to Sonic to do the work and get to the island.

If there was one thing he could hope to find on Kam'yo Island, it was fun. Sonic loved fun and enjoyed it nearly every other day of his life. He didn't know what was waiting for him there, but it was probably lots of cool things.

Picking up the key and inserting it into the ignition, Sonic took the wheel as the boat's engines rumbled to life and he pressed his right foot down on the pedal, allowing the boat to move forward and left the harbor in seconds.

Sonic looked out at the open ocean through the window, watching where he was steering and making sure not to run into other boats and buoys during what would feel like a seemingly long journey.

As the speedster left the mainland behind, his mind began to drift for a second and he thought of his friends as well as how odd it was to not bring anyone along for the ride to see what was apparently a lovely island.

He drove on into the open sea, straight towards a haze of mist ahead and prepared for anything as Sonic always had been ever since his very first adventure and his first battle with Eggman so many years ago.

The spikey speedster continued to steer, even as the clearness surrounding the open sea soon became hazy as the boat entered the cloud of mist that lay just ahead. Sonic was thankful this wasn't something bad, mist never hurt anybody.

If it had been toxic gas or some other mysterious fog, it sure would've been bad news. And yet, it still gave the hedgehog cold chills and made the fur on his quills stand upward as a chill shot up his spines.

Paying little attention to the temperature of his body, Sonic stayed focus and soon spotted a mass of land coming into view out of the mist as it parted. His eyes widened and focused in, the landmass getting larger...

There it was: Kam'yo Island, Sonic could see rows of palm trees and bushes, a sandy beach, patches of grass and, of course, a dock area where he could park the boat. In fact, somebody was there, waiting for him...

Steering the boat into the dock area and cutting the engines, the speedster stepped out onto the wooden planks before waltzing up to the orange humanoid squirrel with blue eyes in a captain's hat and uniform.

"Hi there." The squirrel said happily, "My name's Conker, Conker the Squirrel. What's your name, blue boy?" Sonic gave a thumbs up, "I'm Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog. Pleased to meet you, Conker buddy."

"I guess you're visiting." Conker assumed and shook Sonic's hand, "Anyways, welcome to Kam'yo Island. Enjoy your stay, Mr. Sonic. I'll gladly keep an eye on your boat for you until you're ready to leave."

"Thanks, Conk." The blue blur said optimistically, "It's nice to meet a generous guy like you." Conker pulled out a bottle of what looked like beer and drank it all down. "*Urp* You're welcome. *hic*" The squirrel nodded.

'Hopefully he doesn't go to pieces on my boat while guarding it,' Sonic thought as he walked off and left Conker and the boat behind. 'Eh, best not to think about his little weird drinking deal, at least he's a nice guy.'

As the blue hero set foot off the dock and onto a sandy beach, breathing in the fresh tropical climate, a forest green, lime green lizard with blue eyes came running up to him, standing on two feet and smiling brightly.

"Hi there." The lizard said, "I'm Gex, you must be new here."

"Pleased to meet you, Gex." Sonic said optimistically as he shook the lizard's hand, "I'm Sonic the Hedgehog, I was just visiting."

"Hope you have fun exploring and enjoying your stay with us."

"Thanks, Gex. Keep livin' the good life."

That was it for the conversation, Gex walked off and Sonic resumed exploring his new surroundings and keeping an eye out for any more of the friendly locals and hoping to have a good chat with them.

Going for a walk along the sandy beach and keeping his distance from the water, the blue blur looked around, taking in the scenery and pondering what any of his friends would think of it if they'd came along.

For a couple seconds, Sonic imagined Tails taking a liking to it and chatting up a storm with the locals excitedly. 'I'll bring him along some other time,' the hedgehog thought, 'Besides, having some alone time doesn't hurt.'

"Hi, how's it goin', blue porcupine?"

Sonic turned and came face to face with a strange humanoid fish man on two legs wearing black pants and a blue sweater holding a strange rod with a red orb in his hand. "Uh, who are you?" The speedster asked.

"The name's Axol," Axol replied, "Axol the Artist. I've been living here on the island for a while now, same goes to my friends. Speaking of friends, I gotta get goin', I got a friend in need of assistance. AXOL AWAY!"

With that, Axol waved his staff and flew off into the air on what looked like a magic rug with the face of an anime girl on it. 'Weird, but cool.'Sonic thought, 'This island just gets more and more interesting by the minute.'

Curious about what else he could find and who he could meet, the courageous adventurer headed off into the nearby woods and away from the beach area, eager to explore more of the island and see any settlements.

As he walked through the forest, Sonic smelled the sunflowers and the lush, green bushes along with the trees, taking in the scent of freshness and quietly listening to the sounds of birds chirping to each other.

"Gotta say." The hedgehog said to himself, "I feel blissful even more whenever I hear the sounds of nature wherever I go, wonder what the birds here are up to other than chirping at each other."

"Well, I'm glad to hear you like birds." A scratchy female voice said from above.

Sonic looked up and spotted the speaker sitting on a tree branch; A shapely orange-colored female jungle badger in a gray tube top, torn skirt and mismatched boots looking down on the blue hedgehog with blue eyes.

"Yo." The speedster said, "Who are you?"

"I'm Sticks," Sticks replied, "Sticks the Badger."

"That's way past cool, folks call me Sonic the Hedgehog, I'm the fastest thing alive, world hero and the number one pain in Doctor Eggman's butt."

"I heard a lot of stories about you, word travels all over the place."

"That's not a surprise given my famous celebrity hero status thanks to fightin' bad guys and saving the day for a long time now, so how did word about me get to you Kam'yo Island folks here, huh?"

"We have a few radios and, of course, we've heard rumors from overseas. Many of us have traveled and came back with stories about the brave blue hedgehog, that's pretty much it."

"Nice meetin' ya, Sticks." Sonic said with a salute.

"Headin' on your way, huh?" Sticks remarked, "Ok then, see ya later."

With that, the orange jungle badger climbed up the tree and disappeared into the bushy branches above as Sonic continued on with exploring the surrounding area, eager to meet more of the island's inhabitants.

The cobalt hero soon heard loud snoring and caught sight of a weird, dark-red colored giant Cyclops monster laying upon the ground on its back fast asleep within a clearing. A nearby sign read: Beware the Hinox.

'Sounds like this guy is dangerous,' Sonic thought to himself as he started to tip toe around the sleeping giant and did his best not to step on anything that could potentially wake up the beast.

At one point, however, the Hinox made a groaning noise and seemingly opened its eye only to go back to sleep. When Sonic saw the Hinox move, he thought he'd woken it up, only to learn that it was sniffing for something.

Moving onward, the hedgehog waited until he was a safe distance away from the slumbering giant monster when he chuckled excitedly at the fact that he'd just managed to pull off something nearly impossible… again!

It was then that the hedgehog heard a boing-boing-boing noise and walked on, further into the woods to investigate when... POUNCE! Sonic fell over, flat on his back, as an orange-black creature jumped on him.

"Hullo, I'm Tigger." The creature said.

"Heh-heh," Sonic chuckled, "Tigger, eh? I'm Sonic."

"T-I-Double Guh Er, that spells Tigger." Tigger giggled, "I betcha anything that ya can't spell out your name. Hoo hoo HOO!"

"S-O-N-I-C!" Sonic remarked, "That spells 'Sonic'. Oh and, before I forget, H-E-D-G-E-H-O-G spells, of course, hedgehog."

"Ho ho hoooooo!" Tigger laughed, "Trying to emulate me, I see. You're a fascinating, creature. Well, gotta bounce along now, nice meeting you."

"Ok then, see ya later, Tigger."

With that, Tigger got off Sonic and bounced around, singing a little tune before bouncing away into the bushes, vanishing from sight just as the hedgehog got back on his feet and dusted himself off.

"Hopefully, I don't have to run into that energetic weirdo again for quite a while." The blue blur muttered, "He sure is an oddball." Sonic carried on and before long, he found himself smelling food from somewhere nearby.

He followed the source of the smell through the rest of the woods until he passed through a cluster of bushes and came across an incredible sight; A large village so full of life, he'd never forget this one.

Sonic could see anthropomorphic animals and humans walking around, people he'd never seen before. The buildings and houses were all made from wood and metal, nicely crafted together. As for the source of the smell Sonic was smelling, he instantly spotted a building with a sign above the doorway that read: Seventh Fantasy Kam'yo Diner.

The hedgehog grinned, "Hopefully they have chili dogs there."

He waltzed on into the village and straight towards the nearby diner, waving hi to a few of the locals such as a strange looking, yellow eyed figure in robes with a weird design (a Garo) and a man in red and blue (Mario).

Sonic made sure to take in the sights as he walked, often grabbing his camera to snap a picture or two at either the scenery, the buildings and most of the many locals who waved at him happily.

'Man, this place is starting to become my new favorite alongside Green Hill and Station Square.' The hedgehog thought, waving back at the various locals, 'I should revisit Kam'yo someday, bring one of my buddies.'

"Welcome to Seventh Fantasy Kam'yo Diner, sir." A blonde-haired man in a black suit said as he shook Sonic's hand and the hedgehog noticed his name tag that read 'Cloud Striffe' on it, "Also, welcome to Kam'yo Island."

"Thanks, uh, Cloud." Sonic replied, "You guys don't happen to serve chili dogs at this food serving establishment, do ya?"

"Chili dogs? Of course we do, we have everything. Are you hungry and wishing to have a bite to eat, mister...?"

"The name's Sonic, and, yes, I'd love to have a meal."

"Right this way, sir."

Sonic happily and compliantly followed Cloud inside the restaurant where he tried very hard not to let his jaw drop as he took it all in, the diner looked so lively and clean with its cleanliness and its busy surroundings.

Various people carried trays of food and drinks to many customers sitting at different tables, chatting amongst each other as a nearby TV set displayed a Jon Reves movie that Sonic had seen before: The Adventures of Stormbreaker.

Cloud led the blue hedgehog to a vacant table with a vacant seat and called up one of the waitresses, a shapely brunette wearing a revealing crop top and a short skirt along with combat boots by the name of Tifa.

"Mr. Sonic wants a meal." Cloud explained, "Give him a chili dog, throw in some milk and a burger too." Tifa nodded and gave Sonic a sweet kiss on the cheek, much to the hedgehog's surprise, before she walked away.

Tifa and Cloud walked off and Sonic sat alone, observing the scenery and waving at a few of the customers with many of them waving back, a man with blue eyes, blondeness and elf ears dressed in green waved at him.

A group of cartoonish-looking humanoid turtles in ninja gear walked by and one of them smiled as he waved at Sonic, who waved back, just before one of his buddies dragged him away.

'Turtle weirdoes,' the speedster thought with a slight chuckle on his face, the hot waitress known as Tifa soon returned, carrying a tray-sized plate with chili dogs and burgers along with a glass of milk, all for Sonic.

"Oh yeah!" The hedgehog said with a grin, smacking his lips, "Yummy, this blue hedgie is hun-gry. Time to dig in!" Tifa gave him another kiss on the cheek and walked off, Sonic blushed red just a bit.

Digging in to his meal, Sonic savored every bite of his delicious chili dog and the burger itself all while making sure to drink his milk after swallowing a meal. He ate for a while, once he was done, he called up Cloud.

"I see you've finished your meal, sir." The blonde man said as he bowed his head generously, "Thank you for your diner benefaction, I hope you come again soon, sir. Have a good day and be safe out there, friend."

As the waiter cleared up the empty plate and glass, Sonic proceeded to leave the diner and resumed exploring the town. Deciding to spend a few days here, the hedgehog figured he would have to find a hotel.

Sure enough, the Kam'yo Motel, a building made from bamboo, stood near town square. It wasn't very far from the diner either, Sonic zipped on over the second he spotted it and walked on through the door.

A small, purple humanoid dragon saw Sonic walk in and approached him from the front desk. "Welcome to Kam'yo Island Motel." The dragon said, "My name is Spyro and what is your name, blue hedgehog?"

"Whatcha see is what loads of folks tend to get, a guy who loves fun and adventure, I'm Sonic the Hedgehog." Sonic replied in a casual fashion similar to the one which he spoke in during his confrontation with Shadow aboard the Space Colony ARK.

"Pleased to meet you, Sonic the Hedgehog." Spyro said with a smile, "Allow me to give you Room 23 if you'd so nicely follow me please." Sonic followed Spyro as the dragon lead him out of the entrance hall and into the hallway.

Motel Room 23 looked very decent for a motel room, especially on a tropical island. The beds were colored blue, a painting of the ocean sat on the wall and the widescreen TV set upon a nightstand, currently inactive until someone used the remote to turn it on.

After Spyro left the room, Sonic decided to lay down for a nap on one of the beds and took off his shoes and socks, especially since sleeping with his shoes on while indoors was a bit awkward sometimes.

Picking out the bed with blue, red and white colors (Sonic's favorite color scheme), the hedgehog plopped down on it and passed out in a heartbeat, dozing off to sleep as he smiled happily, feeling content.

Sonic woke up from his nap a few hours later, looking at the bedside clock and taking note that it was way later in the afternoon, probably near sunset. "Well, that was a nice nap." The hedgehog said with a stretch and a yawn.

Climbing out of bed and putting his shoes and socks back on, the speedster decided to continue his exploration of the island and see what else he could find and look at what he hadn't found or looked at yet.

The blue hedgehog walked over to the curtain covering the windows and pulled them back, revealing a back door that led out into a garden area complete with, to Sonic's surprise, a swimming pool.

"Ah, I'll go outside and check out the area anyway." He decided with a shrug and opened the door, walking out into the garden and made sure to keep his distance from the pool as much as possible.

It would be a while before he learned to swim, however, Sonic was not afraid of relaxing by the water as long as he did not get IN the water. He had yet to face his aquaphobia, until then, nothing else to worry about.

"These sunflowers remind me of the ones on South Island in Green Hill." Sonic remarked as he looked at the yellow sunflowers that decorated the garden alongside the brushy bushes and palm trees.

Reaching into his hammer space, Sonic pulled out his camera and began snapping photographs of his surroundings again, taking pictures of the pool and the plants and the late afternoon sky up above.

Afterwards, the blue blur took a look at his camera's photo album, examining the pictures of the island's scenery he'd taken so far, and checked to see how much memory he had left in the camera's data card.

Once Sonic had seen that his memory card was fine and not completely full, he put his camera away and sighed with relief that he was taking good care of his own camera and that it had a good battery span as well.

The hedgehog went back inside and closed the door behind him along with the curtain, smiling happily, before leaving his room and walked out into the entrance/exit hallway, making his way out the door.

Breathing in the fresh, late afternoon air and the scenery again, Sonic wandered around the village, looking at the sights such as a statue of a humanoid mouse in overalls and talking with other locals.

At one point, the hedgehog bumped into a shapely Japanese woman in a hot kunoichi costume, holding a closed fan in her hand. "My name is Mai Shiranui," The attractive female said in a Japanese accent, bowing politely, "And may I ask what your name is?"

"I'm Sonic." Sonic replied, he winked at her, "Nice meetin' ya, Mai Shiranui. Keep lookin' good and stay awesome, ya cute kunoichi." The kunoichi giggled and snapped her fingers, vanishing in a heartbeat.

'Ninja girls.' The spikey hedgehog thought as he chuckled, briefly imagining himself with a shapely ninja girl on a date while fighting robots and kicking Eggman's butt, sharing a meal before hitting the beach for fun in the sun and taking a romantic shower together...

Grrrrrrrr!

Thinking about food as he daydreamed instantly made Sonic realize he was getting hungry again, this meant another trip over to the diner and more food served by that hot waitress named Tifa.

ZOOM! The blue hedgehog ran over to the diner where Cloud was waiting for him again. "Welcome back, sir." The blonde man chuckled, "Looks like you're hungry for another meal, I presume."

Cloud led Sonic back inside the diner and the blue hedgehog found himself a seat at one of the tables, just right next to a muscular guy wearing a red-blue costume with a spider symbol on it.

"And who are you supposed to be, pal?" Sonic asked.

"I'm Peter, Peter Parker." Peter answered, "But most folks known me as Spider Man."

"Cool, I'm Sonic."

"Pleased to meet you."

"No prob, Pete."

Tifa the waitress came and asked Sonic and Peter what they would like to have, Sonic asked for two chili dogs while Peter requested a hamburger. The hot waitress walked off and returned with their meals and drinks minutes later.

"Yummy-yummy yum-yum!" The blue hedgehog exclaimed before munching down his food and then drinking to wash it down.

"You must love chili dogs, don't you, Sonic?" Peter asked sarcastically.

After eating, Sonic shook Peter's hand goodbye and then casually walked out of the diner, feeling satisfied with his second meal of his stay on the island. This place totally rocked and the scenery was truly amazing!

Sonic stayed on Kam'yo Island for the next few days that passed, exploring the village, chatting with the locals and making new friends all while making sure to take plenty of pictures of anything interesting.

One afternoon, just four days after arriving, Sonic was down at the beach playing volleyball with a blue fox girl in a blue string bikini and a yellow fox guy (who hardly reminded him of Tails) in an orange bathing suit.

"You're really good at this, pal." Fox McCloud remarked after Sonic had beaten him and Krystal, "How much volleyball do you do from time and how often have you practiced until you were good at it?"

"It mostly comes from being good at throwing stuff." Sonic remarked.

"Sounds fascinating." Krystal commented, her accent sounded British.

After playing volleyball, Sonic lay down and kicked back to relax upon the sandy ground, looking up at the sky and smiling as he observed the clouds taking on and resembling different objects such as kettles.

Cloud gazing and stargazing were so much fun to do, the speedster smiled with interest as he chilled before thinking of the day he arrived and how much fun he had exploring the island. Right now, maybe it was time to leave the island and go somewhere else.

Sonic made his decision at last, He stood up and headed over to the dock area where his boat was. "Huh, so it looks like you're leavin' I guess?" Conker assumed, the orange squirrel was standing nearby with a beer bottle in hand, having not left his post in a while.

"Yup." Sonic replied, "Thanks for guardin' the boat for me, Conk."

"I sure did take care of the boat during your stay, blue boy. As you can see, nothing happened to it and the boat is the same as it was when you got here. So bon voyage until next time when you come back, Sonic."

"Thanks, Conker!" Sonic boarded the boat and waved, "Bye." With that, the speedster turned on the engines and pulled the motorboat out of port and headed out to sea, feeling content and satisfied with his short vacation-adventure...

The End
