To say that Hizashi knew Shouta best would be an understatement, they had known each other since their time as students in UA Hight school, and in that time, he knew just exactly how Shouta functioned. He knew the other's personality, how he acted when it was just the two of them, and then there was his tendencies to pick up stray cats, which wouldn't be so bad...if it wasn't almost all the time.
You see, Shouta had this strange need to take in stary cats, whether they were injured or not, and most of the time they were mostly just starved and needing some food. Heck, once they were at a healthy weight, he would just drop them off at his favorite cat café and visit them when he felt the need to go back there for some reason. It was the same with the injured ones, and Hizashi was fairly good at trying to convince them that the five cats they owned currently were enough and that they definitely didn't need more.
Their five cats didn't seem all that bothered by the temporary guests that came to stay with them at times, in fact, showing more patients than your average cat. Mocha, Moon, Sleepy, Dot, and Fig seemed to welcome the cats that Shouta brought into their home and mostly ignored them, obviously used to Shouta's antics by now. Especially when it was hard to make his husband part with the animal he had spent time making healthy which to Hizashi's chagrin, was a nightmare to convince half the time.
Hizashi was currently in the kitchen, sitting at the table and grading the latest assignment he had just gotten back from his students while Shouta was off sleeping in the bedroom. His husband needed his rest since he was planning on going on patrols later tonight, which could either lead to him fighting a villain or possibly finding another cat to possibly bring home. This was not a daily occurrence, the cat thing…and if it were he would call into question the cities stay cat population, demanding that the city find cats and get them spayed and neutered.

The voice hero's head shot up at the sound, that meow did not sound like either of their cats, and Hizashi prided himself on knowing exactly what all five of their cat's meows sounded like. Mocha had an incredibly quiet meow, Moon's meow was a very whiney meow, Sleepy's meow was like a screech, Dot rarely ever meowed, and Fig's meow always sounded like that little chirp that cats tend to do. No, this meow almost sounded like a kitten and dammit, usually Shouta told him if he brought a cat home to be looked after, but he did not remember hearing him say anything.
So, he guessed it was time to search for the source of the meow that had just sounded from anywhere but the kitchen in which Hizashi was currently sitting in. A sigh escaped Hizashi, school papers forgotten as he got up from the kitchen table and made his way toward the living room where at least two of their cats were sleeping. Mocha was on the couch while Sleepy was stationed on the cat tree that was right in front of the living room window, they did not seem at all disturbed by the meow that sounded.

There it was again, the sound of a kitten, but where the hell was the kitten, and why hadn't he even heard it earlier in the day before they left for work? Now that was a thought, he had not even heard any kitten this morning and Shout had not even hinted to the fact that he had brought home another animal. "Where the hell is it?" He hummed, eyes scanning his surroundings in the living room, very tempted to wake Shouta from his nap, awfully close to it.

He stayed silent for a moment, arms crossed as he took one last look around the room, this was a mystery and he was really starting to worry about the kitten, wanting to find it. "SHOUTA! DID YOU GET ANOTHER CAT?" He called as he made his way toward the bedroom, his booming voice having awoken the sleeping man from his slumber. "Hm…what?" He yawned, rubbing his eyes as he sat up in bed, looking at the voice hero.
"Did you get another cat? I'm hearing a meow, like a kitten." Hizashi said.
It took a moment for Shouta to register what was being said before chuckling softly and getting out of bed, walking past him toward the living room. "No, I didn't…but I changed ring tone for texts to a cat." He said before going to pick up his phone and checking over the messages that were being sent to him.
"Ye-what?" Hizashi quirked his brow and followed him, he guessed that was not as bad as he was thinking, at least it was not a lost kitten that he could not find. "You made me think we had a kitten I wasn't aware of." He pouted, slightly annoyed with the other, earning a small shrug from the dark-haired man before him.
"You know I would have told you if I got a cat, Zashi." Shouta replied.
"Even so, probably should have told me you changed your text tone too. When did you even do that? Usually it's just the ring tones that come with the phone." Hizashi replied.
"Oh." Shouta hummed, thinking. "Mina was talking with the other kids about an app that you can get ring tones from…and I might have been curious, so I downloaded it. It didn't dawn on me that you would think I got another cat." He said, amused. "Not to mention, you know I would have told you instantly if I had brought a kitten home."
The voice hero sighed and rubbed his forehead. "Of course." He was just glad that they didn't have a lost kitten in the house somewhere.
