Harver's POV
"Hmmm…" I sighed sitting in front of the grave "What should I do babe?"
"Something bothering you father?" Seilah asked.
"Huh, it's nothing." I shrugged.
Ever since we came back to Crime Sorciere all Seilah does is read, she barely interacts with the other members, she just reads.
How the heck am I supposed to relate with a teenager?
"Hey bro!" Meredy called running up "I'm going away for a few days to hang out with Diana."
"Hmm?" I looked up "Hey Merry? Why don't you take Seilah with you?"
"Well it was supposed to be a personal weekend." Meredy frowned.
"Please She could stand to have some interaction with some more humans, and girls her own age."
"Okay…" Meredy sighed "Seilah come on you and I are going on a trip."
"All right." She said closing her book "Let us depart."
Seilah's POV
"Are all towns this loud?" I asked.
"Umm, I don't know." Meredy said "Have you never been out before?"
"Mother was not very keen on letting me leave the Cube, not that I blended in with the horns and all, Human's fascinate me, they constantly mess with my stories. I do look forwards to the chance to study you all for my novels."
"Boy you need to loosen up." Meredy said "You're Seventeen, no reason to be in such a rush to act like an adult."
"Who exactly are we meeting here, your contacts in the dark underworld?"
"Uhh no" Meredy laughed "We're gonna go see Diana, my girlfriend."
"Ahh…you are a lesbian, forbidden love just like one of my books, thank you for allowing me to observe the two of you." I smiled.
"Uhh okay~"
I followed Meredy through the town, people seemed to be looking at me, was it my outfit, the same one from Tartarus, or perhaps they were inspecting my body, I was an attractive young female.
I wonder what Mother would say about me walking amongst the humans?
Meredy walked up the stairs and knocked on a door, it opened and there was a girl, shorter than me, with green hair and a tomboyish yet attractive body.
"Hey." The girl smiled and kissed Meredy "Hello, who are you?"
I blinked.
"Introduce yourself." Meredy whispered.
"I am Seilah Quatro." I told her.
"Nice to meet you." She smiled "Come on in."
"So Merry why did you bring a friend?" Diana asked "Are you trying to tell me something?"
"Oh no, Harver asked me to take her along, Seilah's not really used to human life."
"This lacrima allows you to make long distance communication possible, fascinating." I mumbled.
"I see what you mean." Diana laughed.
"Oh we have guests?"
I looked over and I saw that woman from before.
"Why are you here?" she glared.
"I could ask you the same." I said closing my book.
"You two know each other?" Diana asked.
"She's a demon." Minerva said pointing at me.
"You know it's uncouth to point." I said using my Macro to lower her arm "Besides, you are one to talk, you were of the demons as well…for a time."
"That was Kyouka's fault…that…bitch."
I snapped my fingers and twisted her over.
"OWWW!"
"Seilah!" Meredy yelled.
"Guys stop!" Diana yelled.
"It's wrong to speak ill of the deceased." I said "Especially my mother."
"Stop." Meredy pushed my arm down "You're way out of line."
"Perhaps you are out of line, I could twist you around without even trying." I glared.
"You're never going to be able to adjust if you don't even try." She said.
"Hmmm…" I broke the curse on Minerva "It seems I am not meant for life with humans."
I walked out of the apartment.
I've been a demon my whole life…I have no place in the human world.
"Seilah wait!" Meredy said chasing after me.
"There's no point, I will return to the others, my place is with my father, not with humans."
"But Harver is a human." Meredy said "Please just stay with us for the night and see how it goes, I want you to see how great human life is."
"…very well, I will experience human life for one evening, and if I do not enjoy it, I will return to my previous feelings." I told her "I hope you write a tale that can effect me."
"Thank you for trying, now come on we're going out on the town."
Later
"I feel silly." I said looking at the purple dress I was wearing.
It was tight, exposed part of my cleavage, rose up in the back and had one strap on my right shoulder.
"I think you look great." Meredy smiled in a dress that matched her hair.
"Now let's go!" Diana cheered.
"Very well."
They took me out dancing, I didn't understand the custom of the blasting music and the flashing light, but for some reason it felt exciting. Meredy and Diana yanked me onto the dance floor and started grinding their bodies against mine, they said it was dancing but it was nothing I had ever read about. They insisted I "Grind" back so I did, surprisingly this was liberating…is this what it means to be a teenager, hanging out with friends and having a good time…the thought of this stimulates me greatly.
"So how do you like it?" Meredy asked as we got drinks "Being a normal teenage girl?"
"It is surprisingly enlightening." I smiled "I have the strange sense I want to do it more."
"See life as a human isn't so bad, sure we have little struggles like back at the apartment but it's not anything we can't get by."
"Yes…it seems I was too quick to judge, my apologies." I slowly nodded.
"It's fine, next we need to work on having you talk a little less formal." Diana laughed "You speak like you're in a royal court."
"Is my diction that out of place for my age bracket?"
"Well a normal seventeen-year-old would never use the word diction." She said loudly over the techno music "But I'll give you some magazines or something to learn from."
"I prefer novels over simple pamphlets."
"Well these have stories written by kids our age, and gossip stuff, trust me you'll like it."
A few days later
Harver's POV
"So how was your trip?" I asked as Meredy and Seilah walked back to camp, I noticed my daughter did not have her head in a book.
"I think it was good." Meredy smiled "Seilah learned a lot from reading Diana's tabloids."
"Yes." Seilah d keeping her stone face "It was…totes exciting, I like…learned all about stuff."
"Uhh…."
"I kid father, my speech has not changed that much." She smiled "Although I am trying to be more casual. So, lighten up old man."
God Kyouka you left me with a bit of a project didn't you…but you know even if she is a little goofy, or too formal, and even if she becomes a bit of a teenage girl I'll still love her, because she's our daughter…
