Chapter 6
Waking up the next morning and Damon is gone. I see a note next to the bed telling me that he had to help Stefan with some things and that he would call me as soon as he could. I couldn't help but smile because at the bottom of the note were the words "Your Boyfriend." I laid back and took my phone off the charger and called Caroline. "Hey Care. Want to meet me at the Grill? I need to talk to you." I tell her. "Sure. You okay?" she asked. "Actually, I am. I'll explain when we get there." I say before ending the call.
Walking into the Grill, Caroline has taken a booth and Bonnie and Elena are with her. Good, I can do this all at one time. "Hey guys." I say, sitting down beside Caroline in the booth. "Now, what did you need to talk about?" Bonnie asked. "Damon was listening during the slumber party." I say. They all look shocked and I say "Not all the time but he did 'check in' a few times to see how I was. But he heard what I said about being damaged and us not being together." I tell them and they look at me sadly. I continue, "He told me that I am not damaged and that he considers us together. Then he told me that he heard what you all asked about if he made a move and…" I say trailing off. "And?" they asked in unison. "I slept with Damon." I say and they all cheer and pull me into hugs. "He was gone when I woke up but there was a note telling me where he was and he would call me. He signed it, your boyfriend." I tell them and they all smile at me. "We are so happy for you." Elena says as Matt walks up. "Happy about what?" he asked. I stand to hug him and say "That not only am I going to be okay but Damon and I are together." He smiles and asked "Really?" I just smile and say "Really Matty. I'm going to be okay." He hugged me tighter before he had to get back to work. "So, how was it?" Bonnie asked. "Oh my God. I never thought sex could be that good. He was really gentle with me. I just...wow." I say and they all laugh and say, "That means it was really good." Elena says.
A couple of hours later, I am walking in the door of the boarding house and Damon walks into the parlor. I had texted him and told him I was going to the Grill to meet the girls so he knew where I was. "Hey Char." he greets me. "Hey Damon." I say, kissing his lips softly. "How was your lunch with the girls?" he asked. "It was good. We had a good talk." I tell him and he smirks and says "I bet you did." I just smile and blush a little. Taking me into his arms he says "I missed you today." I lay my head on his chest and say "I missed you too." A voice comes from the door "Can you two get a room?" Stefan asked laughing. "We have one thank you." Damon answers back while I start laughing. "Now you know how the rest of us feel when we are around you and Elena." Damon says and I start laughing harder. "I think I am going to head to the kitchen and cook. Anything you guys want?" I asked and Damon smirks at me. "Food Salvatore." I scold. "Well, you could technically be food." he says and I just roll my eyes and head to the kitchen.
Once the food is done, we sit around the island and talk while we eat. They don't technically have to eat food but they humor me because I do. You know, being human and all. After we eat and clean up, Damon and Stefan head out to meet Alaric. I decide that I need some air so I decide to go for a drive. Since moving in, Damon bought me a car so that I could get around and not have to walk all the time. Heading towards Caroline's, I see someone in the middle of the road and slam on my breaks and go head on into a tree, knocking me out cold. I wake up in the hospital with Matt on one side and Damon on the other. "What happened?" I asked. "You were in an accident." Matt tells me. "Do you remember what happened?" Damon asked me. "I remembered someone being in the middle of the road and I couldn't stop in time. I swerved and hit a tree." I tell him. "What did the doctor say?" I asked. "You had some internal bleeding and they didn't think you were going to make it. Damon gave you some of his blood to heal you." Matt tells me. "Thank you." I say to Damon. "I wasn't going to lose you, baby." he says before placing a kiss to my lips. "Get some rest. We will see you in the morning." Matt tells me before they leave the room.
Later, I see Elena walk into the room. "Elena, what are you doing here?" I asked, still a little groggy. "I'm Katherine. If I can't have Damon, neither can you." she tells me before snapping my neck, killing me.
I wake up a little later and the light hurts my eyes. Damon comes in and sees me and asks, "Baby, are you okay?" I look at him through squinted eyes "I don't know. This light is too bright and my gums hurt." He looks at me worried and asked "What's the last thing you remember?" I thought for a second before saying "I thought Elena was in my room last night but she said her name was Katherine. She said if she couldn't have you then I couldn't either and then everything went black." I tell him. "Damon, what is happening to me?" I asked. "Baby, We need to get you out of here." he tells me. He helps me get dressed and gets me to his car and puts a blanket over me. We drive to the boarding house and Stefan and Caroline are waiting there when we pull up. They help get me inside and sit me down. "What happened?" Caroline asked. "Katherine. She snapped her neck." Damon explains. "Then how is she alive?" Stefan asked. "I gave her my blood yesterday to heal her." he explained and they all went quiet. "Someone want to clue me in please?" I asked. "You are in transition." Stefan explains. "What?" I asked. "You had my blood in your system when Katherine killed you. Baby, you are turning into a vampire." he explains. "A Vampire?" I asked, shocked.
