Chapter 7
"Don't listen to her." Caroline says. "She's just mad that he doesn't want her anymore." Bonnie adds. "I know. But what if she is right?" I say, looking down at my hands. "She's not. Just let Damon show you she isn't." Bonnie says. "My last boyfriend left me for someone else. How is he different?" I asked. A voice comes from the door, "Because I see how great you are. I see how perfect you are." Damon says. "I am not perfect Damon." I tell him. He walks over to me and lifts my chin to look at him. "You are to me." he says before placing a soft kiss to my lips. "Now, get unpacked. We have a party waiting downstairs." he says before walking out of the room. "What?" I asked when I see the shocked looks on Caroline and Bonnie's faces. "We have never seen him that gentle with anyone. Ever." Caroline says. "Really?" I asked. They both nod their heads yes. They help me unpack and we head downstairs to the party.
Walking over to the couch, Damon hands me a drink and sits down next to me. I lean into his side and he wraps his arm around me, kissing my temple. "So, where all did you get to see before we kidnapped you?" Jeremy asked. "I stopped in Memphis and then drove to Savannah. Those were the only places that I stopped." I say. We go on talking and Elena is sitting next to Jeremy glaring at me. I get up and head to the kitchen for another drink and she follows me in. "You know he is just using you to make me jealous right?" she asked. "Whatever Elena. You just can't handle that you are not the center of attention." I say. She gets in my face and tells me, "Damon is mine. I don't care what you think or what he tells you. One call and he will be back in my bed." she tells me. Before I could respond, Bonnie comes in and asked. "What's going on?" Elena looks at her and says "You need to choose between me and Kali because you can't have both of us." Bonnie looks at her and rolls her eyes. "Then I choose Kali. I won't choose against my sister." Bonnie tells her. Elena looks shocked and rushes out the door. "What did she say to you?" she asked. "It's not important." I tell her and we head back into the party.
A few hours later, we call it a night and Damon asked if he can stay with me. I say yes and we get undressed and into bed. Pulling me to him he says "I heard what Elena said to you." I tense and start to pull away but he pulls me closer. "She's wrong. I am not using you. I don't want her and the only one that I belong to is you. I promise you that." he whispers to me. "I believe you, Damon." I whisper back before snuggling in closer to him.
I wake up the next morning and Damon is gone. I get up and walk into the kitchen and see him and Bonnie making breakfast. He walks over to me with a fresh cup of coffee and sits it down and kisses my lips softly. "Morning." he says. "Morning." I say back. I look at Bonnie and she is smiling like she is hiding something. All of a sudden there is a knock on the door. Bonnie opens the door and a man walks in. Bonnie hugs him and kisses his lips before heading back to the stove. "Kali, this is my boyfriend Enzo." she introduces us. "Hi Enzo. I'm Kali. Bonnie's sister." He shakes my hand and Damon adds, "And my girlfriend." I look at him and smile as he winks at me and smirks. After breakfast is done, everyone else files into the kitchen and Damon sits next to me. "Where's Elena?" Jeremy asked. "She left last night. She gave me an ultimatum and didn't like the answer." Bonnie says. Jeremy looks at her confused and I added, "She made Bonnie choose between me and her." Jeremy looks at me and rolls his eyes. "She is really starting to get on my nerves. I love my sister but she's so spoiled." We all nod our agreement. All of a sudden, Damon's phone rings and it is Elena. "You can answer that." I tell him. "Nope. She disrespected my girl. I have nothing to say to her." he says before kissing my cheek and returning to his breakfast. Then Caroline's goes off. She answers, "What Elena?" and she turns it on speaker. We are all quiet so we can hear what she says. "Have you seen Damon? He's not answering his phone." Caroline uses her best innocent voice. "I think he said something about taking his girlfriend out for the day. But he didn't say where." Elena sighed. "Please don't call her that." Caroline says "You realize that is what he calls her, right? They are together. You need to accept that." Elena gets frustrated and says "She isn't his girlfriend. He doesn't even know her. Look, if you see him, will you tell him to call me? I miss him." Caroline rolls her eyes and says "Actually, no I won't. I like Kali and I think her and Damon are good together. Why don't you just let someone else be happy for a change." I look at her shocked and Elena comes across the line, "So you are abandoning me too?" "You are the one that is pushing us all away. Everything isn't always about you. Kali and Damon are together and looks like they are happy. Like sickeningly mushy happy. What they have might actually be epic." Caroline says knowing that it would piss Elena off more. "Well, gotta go. Love ya." Caroline says before ending the call and we all bust out laughing. "Epic huh?" I asked Caroline and Damon leans over and says, "Most epic ever."
