Chapter 9: The Warden Falls Pt. 2

At the gate of the prison, all the guards were being overwhelmed by the rioting ghosts. They were quickly defeated with the prisoner running out.

"Finally we're out of that damn place." Johnny said as he hugged Kitty, before turning back to the others. "Let's blow this joint, guys."

"Wait, look." Skulker said abruptly, making nearly everyone stop and witness the prison slowly turning pitch black. "I suspect this is Naruto's doing. All the more reason to flee while we can."

No one argued as they all began to run again.

Desiree, however, stopped when she saw Ember was still looking back at the prison. She floated over to her flaming headed friend. "You're going to stay?" She asked as they watched the prison be completely consumed by darkness.

"Yeah..." Ember said as she grasped the handle of her guitar. "I want to make sure he keeps his promise and gives that asshole what's coming to him."

"He will Ember." Desiree placed a hand on Ember's shoulder. "Call it a feeling I can't explain, but I know that he would never let us down or go back on his word. After all he said so himself, he always keeps his promises."

"Yea he did" Ember grew a smile thinking of Naruto's words and smiled a bit more when he promised to help her. 'Kick his ass, Naruto.'

-With Naruto-

"During my last battle..." Naruto said as he twirled his cleaver around before vanishing into the darkness with the last twirl. Walker scanned around but saw no sign of him as his voice echoed around. "I learned my power works best in darkness, it is the very essence of one of my powers. But I got to thinking, what if the sun is up? What if I can't use my power? Then I got the answer…" Walker fired a green beam from his shoulder cannons at a random area, only for it to vanish into the darkness. "Create my own darkness and use my power to its fullest, and with the items and power from both, the Master and Queen of Darkness, it's not too hard." Naruto reappeared behind Walker with his cleaver at the dome of the suit. "I didn't really need to do this, I could have beaten you without it, but you will suffer for what you've done in the most painful way."

Walker leaped forward and turned to swipe at Naruto with glowing claws. The shinobi blocked it and a spear of darkness shot out of the floor, piercing the robotic arm. Walker let out a growl of pain as he felt it go through a part of his real arm. Looking at Naruto -who was smirking- the warden's anger rose beyond his side of reason and tried to fire both of his wrist cannons at point blank. The Uzumaki waved his hand upward and the Darkness wrapped around Walker's cannons before Naruto vanished as the energy built up in them and exploded.

"AAAAHHHHH!" Walker screamed as his own hands were blown apart by the blast. He fell to his knees as he saw one third of his arms were gone, parts of the bone exposed as green blood splattered onto the dark ground. The very sight enraged Walker even more, his teeth cracked as he gritted them together. "First that ghost boy…" growled the white ghost. "And now you, why? WHY!?" Walker rose up and began blasting all around with his remaining arm, it wasn't planned or calculated, it was just the rampage of blinded rage. "Why does your kind continue to humiliate and get in the way of my justice!? Why must I suffer!? WHY DO YOU DESTROY THE PEACE I'VE WORKED SO HARD TO BUILD!?"

"Justice? Peace?" Naruto questioned as he appeared above Walker with Yami and Hikari and sliced off the cannons all the while having his expression dark as their surroundings. "Justice is not imprisoning everyone who doesn't follow your rules…" He dropped his twin swords into the Darkness, reached in and pulled out the cleaver. With a single swing, he cut the chest of the suit in half. "Peace is not breaking their spirits, so they will do what you say and not rebel!" Naruto threw the cleaver into the Darkness and thrust his fist through the suit, pulling Walker out of it and slammed him on the ground. His yellow eyes staring down his green ones. "You brought this humiliation upon yourself. You toyed with people's lives like they were your playthings. What you did… WHAT YOU DID TO EMBER DESERVES A FATE A THOUSAND TIMES WORSE THAN THIS!"

Walker looked into the eyes of the Darkness host for what seemed like eternity, and then for some reason he began to laugh. Naruto narrowed his eyes as he listened to the voice he wished to silence forever. "So that's why you're doing this? To help that wench?" Naruto grabbed Walker's neck, ready to squeeze the life out of him, but the warden smiled as he kept talking. "If I had known that little bitch's charm would attract such trouble, I would have killed her and that rebellious brat of hers a long time ago. They both have been nothing but trouble to me. But at least I can say I had fun breaking that girl's spirit, one session at a time."

WHAM!

The next thing Walker knew he was sent flying with Naruto flying alongside him, delivering barrage after barrage of agonizing blows. Walker finally hit a wall, but Naruto kept pounding away at him, his blood painting the ground with every splatter. The shinobi leaped back and pointed both of his index fingers and began firing rapid energy beams all over Walker's body, causing third degree burns and most piercing his body.

Eventually halting his onslaught, he held Walker by his neck and inspected his opponent's present condition. The warden's face was broken in, his body burned, bloody with more running out the holes in his body, and broken to the point you can see his bones broken on the inside. "I'd like nothing more than to vaporize you right now." Naruto growled as he dropped him with a pair of large red eyes shined above Walker. "But I promised your soul to satisfy the Darkness." Fangs rose out of the ground as a large serpent formed out of the wall with the Warden right in the middle of its mouth. "So long Walker, you will never be missed."

In one bite, the former Warden and ruler of the Ghost Zone vanished behind the jaws of Darkness.

-Outside-

Ember and Desiree saw the darkness recede from whence it came, turning the prison back to normal. They looked forward and saw Naruto appear in front of the gate putting his cloak back on. "Naruto!" They both cried as they ran -or in Desiree's case, flew- up to him and embraced him.

"Hey girls, did I worry you?" Naruto said as he hugged them back before letting go. "You both didn't have to, Walker is gone and he won't ever be coming back." he turned towards Ember with a serious look. "And yes, Ember-chan, he did suffer till the end."

"Good, he deserved every bit of it." Ember said with some satisfaction in her voice, she then smiled and hugged Naruto again. "Thank you so much, Naruto, you've done so much for us all, for me."

"I've got one more thing to add." He let go of Ember, so she could look at him with a questioning expression. "During the fight, Walker mentioned your son." Ember widened her eyes as her attention soon clung to every word he would say next. "He called him 'rebellious'. I don't know how much different he is, but he is alive and is nothing like Walker. He is defiant and I'm sure spirited as his mother."

Ember put her hand over her mouth as tears of joy fell from her eyes. "Thank you… so much." She cried through her hand, whipping the tears away and smiled. "Then I've got no time to waste, I've got to find him. I'd ask if you'd wanna come, but I'm sure Clockwork wants to know if it was a job well done."

Naruto merely crossed his arms. "Yeah, I got a lot I still need to take care of. I wish I could go with you right now, but for the moment I will wish you good luck and do my best to hurry up, so I can come back and help you."

"I know, you…" Ember paused for a moment. Both Naruto and Desiree looked at her with confused expressions, wondering what was going on. Before they could question Ember, she shook her head and smiled. "Sorry, spaced out for a moment, but you don't have to worry Dipstick, I know you never break your… umm… nendo?"

"Nindo, actually." Naruto corrected, making Ember smirk as she rolled her eyes. Suddenly, a pair of clock hands appeared beside them before spinning and forming a portal. "I guess that's my ride." Naruto gave them a warm smile before walking over to the portal. "I'll see you ladies sometime in the future."

"Goodbye Naruto, stay safe." Desiree said as she and Ember waved. He waved back before vanishing into the portal as it closed behind him. "You know, I had this odd feeling that I've met him before."

"You too?" Ember said as the two turned and floated off the ground. "I thought it was just me. Wonder if the others felt the same."

"Possibly and speaking of odd..." Desiree glanced over at Ember. "It's not like you to space out while talking. What happened back there?"

"It was his eyes." Said the ghostly rocker.

"Don't tell me you got lost in his deep ocean blue eyes." Teased the ghostly wish granter.

"N-no, but by your description, maybe you did." Ember teased back, both having a slight blush. "No, it's just for a moment, I thought his eyes were glowing green…"

-With Naruto-

Exiting the portal, he held his head feeling a slight throbbing pain in it for a moment. "Long day?" Naruto heard a familiar voice say and turned to see Clockwork.

"Not just a small headache." Naruto said as he shook it off before seeing he was back in the throne room of Clockwork's castle. "I take it you already know how the mission went?"

"Yes and there is nothing more to say than a job well done." Clockwork said with a smile as he floated over into his throne. "The council would like to speak with you after they have gotten everything in order. But before we proceed on, my reward for you is this." Clockwork held up one finger. "One time I will allow you to use my Chronos Gate to travel through time. One time I shall do you a favor as long as it is within my power and reason. And I am going to give you a little training."

'A free trip through time, a favor, and some training.' Naruto thought. 'Doesn't sound S-rank worthy, but I guess a lot of people would kill for a chance to go back in time. There is a lot I could do with a chance like that.' "Thank you, Clockwork-sama." Naruto said with a bow. As he stood back up, he thought back to Ember and got an idea. "Clockwork, I'd like to cash in that favor."

"I know what you're going to ask and you do not have to worry." Said the Ghost of Time. "I know of Ember's situation and she is not yet ready to meet her son, nor is he to meet her. They will be reunited, but at the right time, when events are at a stand still."

"That's Clockwork for you." Naruto heard a voice say behind him, he turned around and was face to face with a being of yellow eyes and blue skin. "Always speaking in time riddles."

"AAAAAHHHHH!" Naruto screamed and jumped back out of fright. Getting a breath and a second look, he saw it was the demon lord, Hunson Abadeer. "Dear Kami, don't do that!"

"Sorry couldn't help myself." Smiled the Lord of the Nightosphere. "I heard what you did for Clockwork here. In all honesty, most of us would have told you to do it too sooner or later. Walker was a real pain, always so controlling. I mean seriously, where's the madness in order? It's so boring." Naruto chuckled nervously as he figured Hunson's idea of madness was on a higher scale than his. "But to the main point, I was wondering if you're available to do my mission for you? Mine was actually supposed to be after Mandy, but Clockwork asked me to switch and I was fine with it since it got rid of a nuisance for us all."

"I'm ok with it, I guess." Naruto said as he crossed his arms. "But will it take long? I really need to get back to my village."

"Well for us, not long at all. For you, very." Said the suit wearing demon, causing Naruto to raise an eyebrow in a questioning manner. "Cause the place I want to send you is not exactly a 'where', but a 'when'. At most, I was wanting you to stay for two years or so at least."

"TWO YEARS!?" Naruto shouted. "What exactly am I supposed to be doing on this mission!?"

"Wow you got a pair of lungs on you." Hunson said as he walked over to the Chronos gate. "Clockwork, if you please?"

Clockwork's staff glowed blue and waved it in the air. The gate lit up with an image rippled into its surface, giving the shinobi a good look at a pair of people. First was a man who had a lot of white hair on his face and head, Over his white eyes, he wore circular blue-tinted glasses with cracked lenses, a torn black suit, and a gold crown with red gems strapped to his side. Next to him was a little girl with black hair and eyes, blue gray skin, she wore dirty dark blue overalls over a lavender shirt, and she would be barefoot besides the torn sock on her right foot.

"That girl is my daughter, Marceline. Next to her is her growing insane -now completely insane- friend Simon Petrikov. What you're seeing now is an image of them a few hundred years ago. During that time Simon used that crown of his to gain ice magic, but it changed him and drove his mind bonkers to the point where he doesn't even know my daughter anymore."

Naruto blinked and narrowed his eyes a little. "You said hundreds of years ago? I'm gonna assume by the way you're speaking they are still alive now?"

The Lord of the Nightosphere nodded in confirmation before explaining the details. "The crown kept Simon alive for this long. If it weren't for that, the human would've died a whole lot sooner. My daughter, however, is a hanyo like you; that is until her human side was turned into a vampire by that simpleton Vampire King, but that is after the point." Hunson turned to Naruto. "My daughter and I may not see eye to eye a lot, but I do care about her. So here is your mission: you are to travel back in time and be Marcy's protector and caretaker, mostly friend, cause I believe having someone like you around her will help her grow and feel not so lonely that early on in her life's development. And maybe she won't be so reluctant to refuse ruling the Nightosphere later on if you're in her life. Ya just gotta spend enough years with her so she gets attached to you, then come back here and be friends with her in this present time period."

Naruto thought it over before looking back at the screen. "I understand you want me to help her. But from what you said, the old guy is pretty unstable with that crown and getting worse. What do I do if he loses his mind?"

"Simple." Hunson said smiling. "Suck out his soul and leave his body to get eaten by zombies or decay. Whichever comes first."

"That is sick man."

"I know, isn't it great!?"

"That won't be necessary." Clockwork finally speaking up, getting their attention. "I plan to send Naruto to the point when Simon leaves your daughter, to avoid any unnecessary confrontations."

Naruto was not really sure about this mission. He was basically pulling on a little girl's heart strings just so her daddy can get on good terms with her. Plus he would be spending years away from home, but he did understand Hunson's feelings in this. What father would want their daughter to be lonely for such a long time? And Naruto knew loneliness very well, which played a part in him not minding being away for so long, since not that many people to go home to in his life.

The whiskered teen ran his hands through his blonde hair, releasing a sigh in the process. "If I do go, you're sure I will be able to come back to this time? How about my aging? I doubt no one in this time will not notice I got older."

"With this" Clockwork floated over with his hand held out. In its palm was gold a gear shape medallion with a blue 'C' in the middle. "This is one of my Time Medallions, as long as you have it on, you will remain in the past. But should it ever come off, you will be sent back to this point in time and all effects time has done to your physical body will be undone."

'Well everything's planned out and I'm already here.' Naruto thought as he grabbed the medallion and slipped it on. "Alright let's do this."

"I knew you wouldn't let me down." Hunson said as Clockwork waved his staff again and the image began to change. "Oh I almost forgot." Hunson stuck his nail in his ear and pulled out a small black gooey orb. "Give this to my past self, he'll know what to do after."

Naruto tried not to vomit as Hunson handed it to him. He materialized a small black box and had him put it inside before putting it in his pocket just as he turned to see Clockwork had finished. The image now looked like that of a ruined city covered in falling snow.

"Just jump through when you're ready." Clockwork said as he moved out of the way. "I doubt I need to tell you to be careful about what you do and the dangers they could have in the future."

"Yeah, the last thing we need is that." Naruto said as he stood in front of the gate. 'Cause the last thing I need is to be in trouble with all the demon lords.' He thought before jumping into the image. It was like a shimmer of blue before Naruto found himself in the middle of the snow covered city. 'Well I'm here,' he turned to see the portal was gone, 'for two whole years or so. Damn it they didn't even tell me how to find… them?'

Turning towards the sound of dogs barking, he looked hard through the falling snow to see a sled being pulled by a bunch of dogs with the rider being this Simon guy. When he saw Naruto, he stopped the dogs and got off. "Oh my glob, I don't believe it." He said as he looked at Naruto with complete shock, slowly walking up to him and looked all around him. "Your human and not some goo oozing monster."

"I'm pretty sure I'm no monster." Naruto said as he was getting creeped out by the close attention the blue skinned man was giving him. "And technically I'm a hanyo." The next thing he knew, Simon slapped him. "The hell was that for!?"

"And you're real!" Simon said joyfully. "You're not a hallucination!"

"Didn't you figure that when I started talking!?" Naruto shouted. "And why not slap yourself to see if you were imagining me!?"

"Cause then it would have hurt me." Simon said as if it was the most obvious answer in the world. Simon then shook his head and grabbed Naruto by his shoulders. "Please I need your help. I don't know who you are, but I can see a lot of goodness in you. Not too far from here, there is a little girl who needs protection. I want to be there for her, but I'm losing my mind. Please, can you watch over her, at least until I can find someone more permanent to take care of her."

Naruto felt sorry for Simon as he saw frozen tears forming in his eyes. He wished he could help him, but that probably went against his mission and he wouldn't know how it would affect the future.

Naruto smiled and as he removed Simon's hands from his shoulders. "You don't have to worry Simon." Naruto said as he gave a thumbs up. "I'll protect her, you have my word."

"I don't know how you know my name, stranger, but thank you so much." Simon said with a smile as he shook his hand. The shinobi smile turned sheepish as he was glad Simon didn't really notice that he knew him a little. Simon then turned and got back on the sled before pointing in the direction he came from. "About one mile you should find her, I'm counting on yooooouuuuuu!" The dogs suddenly started running at full speed dragging Simon with them through the snow.

In all honesty, Naruto was not really sure how to interpret Simon's condition. 'Well at least he's not killing you crazy yet.' Was all he thought as he materialized a hood on his cloak to keep the snow off before he began to walk in the direction Simon said. He glanced in every building he passed to see if Marceline was in one of them. There was so much snow he wasn't sure how far he had walked, until the snow suddenly stopped and the sun came out. 'Hunson said he had ice magic, the snow must have traveled with him and stopped as he grew out of distance.'

At some point, Naruto heard something… someone was crying. Walking in the direction of it, he came to a building with a hole in the side before peering in to see Marceline.

She was a little taller than the image he saw, having her hair in two small pigtails while wearing a brown sweater and black jeans. Naruto stepped inside and on some glass, she raised her head up showing her frightened tear stained eyes as she backed further against the wall.

"It's ok, it's ok," Naruto said calmly, removed his hood and held his hands up, smiling to assure her he meant no harm. "My name is Naruto, I was asked to protect you by Simon."

"Simon!?" Marceline shot up, ran towards Naruto and latched onto him with pleading eyes. "Please you have to take me to him, he needs help!"

"I'm sorry, Marceline." Naruto said as he kneel down to her with soft eyes. "I could tell Simon's condition when he spoke and as I examined him. He may be cured, but it's a long shot."

"He's my friend, I have to try." She cried with tears streaming down her cheeks. "Please, can you help me?".

Naruto didn't know what to do, he didn't know if going after Simon would affect history or not. He wished he had been told more about what was supposed to happen in their original future, but he understood how Marceline felt. If he had a chance to save a friend he would take it.

Naruto sighed as he looked at her with a smile. "Alright, we'll help him" He finally said, a smile sprang forth on Marcy's face, until Naruto held up his hand. "But on a few conditions. My mission to protect you comes first. And we will not confront or search for Simon until we're sure we can cure him and know everything of his mental state. Deal?"

"Deal." Marceline said, giving him a thumbs up.

"Good then were a team." Naruto said as he gave her his thumbs up before standing back up and extended his hand. "Let's get going. In the meantime, why don't you tell me a bit about yourself and I'll do the same."

"Ok." She grabbed a small backpack not far away before she held his hand. 'This guy seems a little odd.' She thought as they walked out and she looked at his smile. 'But he's nice like Simon, I hope we can help him so we can travel together.' "So my name is Marceline Abadeer, I am eight and a half, I like chicken soup, music, Simon, Hambo, and having lots of fun."

Naruto nodded and was about to give his own introductions. Yet something quickly came out of his mouth in order to voice an inquiry. "What's a Hambo?"

AN:

At last, the final chapter of this massive upload.

Now as you guys can probably guess as to the next girls that are added into the harem with them being Ember, Desiree and Dani from Danny Phantom and Marceline from Adventure Time.

Though with the mention of the Vampire Queen, somewhat on the fence with her as I've been catching up on her character progression after rewatching Adventure Time and reading through the comics set during and after the series events with her being with Princess Bubblegum and whatnot. So with Marceline, she's labeled as a possibility.

There's also the detail on the Powerpunk Girls being included as once again, they are a possibility.

Anyways, be sure to review this story guys! Would like the criticisms. Please and thank you!

"Come on, Marceline." Naruto said as he dodged Marceline's sword, jumping over her and giving her a slight push. "Give it all you got. Show that fire in you!"

Marceline growled as she turned to him. "You want fire?" She said as her eyes turned red and she raised her sword up. "HERE!" She slammed it down on the ground and walls of fire burst up around them.

"Well I didn't mean literally." Naruto chuckled as he watched her rush at him with fire surrounding her…

"You think this is over?" The last Ame nin said as he pulled out a kunai, Naruto just stood and crossed his arms. "Once this day is done, you and your team will be dead, and we will be-"

His words and life were cut short as he was crushed by a… falling piano?

'Well that's one way to shut him.' Naruto thought as he sensed a familiar friend and looked up. "Didn't expect to see you here…"
