About ten minutes later, I heard a knock at the door. I opened it and saw Cory standing there.
"Cory, what are you doing here?"
"Well, my best friend's sick. His folks are out of town."
Cory then entered the trailor, and put the bags he had in his hand onto the kitchen table.
"I just thought I'd drop by and check on you. These bags way a ton. But you know, I just brought over a few little sundries to tide you through. Uh, cough syrup, Asprin..."
"Thanks for everything, Cor, but I gotta get some sleep. Very contagious."
"Oh, say no more. I'll just plug in the humidifier and be on my way."
"Shawn, can I wear your Captain America t-shirt-"
Joe came out of the bathroom just as Cory was walking towards my room. This wasn't good.
"Joe?"
"Shawn?"
Cory then gathered all his bags and ran out the door.
"Cory, really, you don't have to go."
"Yeah, like I'm not embarrassed enough. Me and my Mentholatum. You know, Shawn, if you had plans like this, you didn't have to fake a cold. You could've just told me."
"No, I couldn't have."
"Why not?"
"Look, your just gonna have to trust me on this one, ok?"
Then, Joe walked out.
"Cory, you won't tell anyone I was here, right?"
"Well, normally I would've told Shawn, but he already knows. Unless he's just a complete idiot."
"Cory, don't blame this one Shaun, okay?"
Cory nodded before leaving.
(Joe's POV)
I then followed Shaun inside, and we sat back down on the couch.
"Can you tell me what happened?" he asked
(Shaun's POV)
I anxiously awaited Joe's explanation, knowing it couldn't be good.
"I was on my way over here, and Paul, he found me. He...he hurt me...again."
"I'm sorry...Uh, can I ask you a few questions?""
"Yeah."
"A few months ago, we were at the shampoo testing place, and you said you had a flashback...What was it about?"
"When Cory said that they'd pay you a hundred bucks, I got a flashback from a time when Paul would sell me out to his friends for that much."
"Oh...uh, can I ask another?"
"Yeah."
"The day when my dad became the school janitor, you said that you knew that it wasn't possible that my dad could hold his breath for that long as you couldn't..."
"He would hold me under water for mutable minutes at a time..."
I knew what she was talking about, and I couldn't believe! I felt so bad.
We then went and told Mr. Turner, who tool Joe to the hospital. I held her hand the whole time.
The next day, we gathered Cory and Topanga and told them what happened.
(Joe's POV)
A few months later was Thanksgiving. Cory, Shaun, and I tried to get the Hunter's and the Matthews to eat dinner together so we could all get stuffing, but it didn't work.
Eric, Shawn, Cory, Morgan, and I ended up going to Frankie's house just across the way. Later, the parents joined us, and it ended up being a very fun Thanksgiving.
It's nearing the holidays and Cory, Shaun, and I all got jobs. Although, Shaun quit his dock job, Cory got involved with the Mob, and Shaun is now working at the restaurant Cory had worked at. As for me, I'm gonna attempt to take down Paul, because right now he has a 5,000 dollar bounty on his head. I ended up emailing him, and I'm meeting with him at my old home. This time I'm equipped with Pepper Spray.
I went in through my old bedroom window, and he was already there, waiting for me. I immediately got the Pepper Spray out, but before I could use it, he grabbed it out of my hand. He then pinned me down to the ground, and began to re-carve my Mudblood scar.
I panicked, and tried to think of a way out. I then remembered the phone I head in this room so I could call Shaun without having to bump in to Paul or Lisa. I reached right arm back just as Paul pulled the knife out of my arm.
"I'm going to go clean this thing. Your blood's getting all over it. Don't move!"
When he was out of the room, I grabbed the phone. I knew I didn't have the streangth to run out of here.
(Shaun's POV)
When I got back to my trailer with Cory after our heart-to-heart, I went to answer the phone as we were the only one's home.
"Hello?" a panicked Joe whispered
I immediately froze, becoming extremely nervous. I put the phone on speaker.
"Joe?" I asked
"Shawn, I did a really bad thing and now I'm in trouble."
"What do you mean? What kind of thing?"
"Paul has a 5,000 dollar bounty on his head, and I thought that if I caught him, I could use the reward for holiday presents. I know, It's really stupid and dumb. I just-Uh, he's coming back, I have to go!"
Then, the phone went dead. Cory and I gave each other a glance before sprinting to Mr. Turner's house as fast as possible. There, Turner called the police before the three of us drove over to the house.
Pulling up to it, I saw a swarm of police cars. We went up to one of the officers.
"Sir, that was my foster daughter in that house."
"Your the foster father of Josephine Rogers?"
"Yes."
"Okay. An old scar on her arm was re-carved."
Oh no! Not the Mudblood scar! God, I feel so terrible.
"Can we see her?" I asked
"Yes, she right over there with the paramedic and the ambulance. They should be wrapping her arm up by now."
(Joe's POV)
Shaun immediately hugged me when I saw him. I felt so happy to see him!
"I'm sorry," I whispered to him
"It's okay," he said, comforting me
We ended up spending the reset of the holidays at the Matthews' house. It was a lot of fun. I got some cool gifts, too.
