"Oh, good they finished the guildhall." I sighed as we walked in.

"Out of the way!" Erza pushed me over "Where is she?!"

"What's got her so excited?" Lauren asked.

"You'll see." I mumbled.

"Yes." Erza picked up her daughter "Don't cry, Mommy's here."

"Mommy?" Lauren tilted her head.

I held my hands out "Lauren, Laxus, this is your lovely little niece Elise, Ellie for short."

"Oh my god!" Lauren squealed "She so cute!"

"I know right!" Erza cheered with her.

"I don't get it." Laxus said "It's just a baby…all it does is cry, eat and wet itself, how's that cute."

"It's a girl thing." Mira walked by and patted him on the back.

"Yoink!" I walked over and picked the baby up "I'm borrowing this for a bit."

"Boo!" all the girls booed me.

"Yeah, yeah I know your guild master is an awful human being. I mean how dare he take his own child to meet her grandfather." I mumbled.

"Ohh…" they all shut up.

I walked across the guild and plopped the baby on the bar, she giggled and waved her stubby arms.

"Hey Gramps." I said taking a seat "I've got someone here you've gotta meet. The newest addition to the Dreyer family, Elise Dreyer!"

Gramps looked at her and smiled, I passed the baby off for him to play with.

"Hey old man…" I sighed "I'm sorry about what I said, I didn't know the whole story and I got on your case about something I didn't really understand. Now that I have a kid of my own, I feel like I have that parental sense you did."

"It's fine, what's happened has happened, we need to prepare now." He said "You have to secure the future for kids like this."

"Yeah…I do." I smiled.

"This brings us back to a more important problem." Mira smiled "Who's that master now?"

"Oh…" I scratched my head "I'll do all the formal crap and stick around as 7th, I think if we try to make Gramps Master for a third time he might have a heart attack."

I'm the big cheese, I gotta do what I can so I can make sure there's a good world…a world….left for my baby. The Wizards of Alvarez are beyond my wildest dreams…not many people here could take them on, not to mention Zeref is running the show over there, and how does The First's Body tie in?

This battle won't be like the last times…I don't know if I can protect everyone.

But I have to.

I covered my face with my hands, I was cracking, how the hell was I supposed to tell these people a fight was coming and that some of them might die in it?

I suddenly felt a hand on my shoulder "You're fine."

"Laxus…"

"Stop freaking out, you're in charge this guild is expecting you to lead it…" he sighed "So do it."

"Yeah." I stood up and clapped my hands "Yo Listen Up!"

Everyone got quiet and turned to me "We've got a big one coming, this isn't gonna be easy."

I rolled a map on the table "Alvarez is coming. They are marching a whole country's worth of people at just the few dozen of us here, but why do I care? So what if their strong, that just makes the fights more fun, we'll fight and win…all of us, together."

"I'm sick of playing to their tune, let's start our own!" I smiled "The song of our victory!"

"YEAH!"

"The problem is they want Lumen Histoire and I don't know why." I mumbled.

"Allow me." Master Mavis floated over "This does involve me after all."

"Knock your socks off." I smiled "Oh wait you're barefoot…uhh…whatever."

"Everyone…" Master Mavis sighed "Lumen Histoire, also known as Fairy Heart, has been our guild's most protected secret, that is because it is not something the world should know about, but there is a reason Zeref wants that power…because of my sins…"

"Hmm?" Gramps gave her that corner of his eye look "First."

"It's fine." She said "It's time for the truth. I'm going to tell you all a story, about a boy and a girl…with a curse."

Mavis explained that she met Zeref in a forest a long time ago, he taught her magic and when she misused one of the spells it made her body unable to age. But like in all the stories, wishes and power like that don't come without a price…and when your gifted with Immortality the price you pay has to be great, and a price like killing everyone around you when you appreciate life…seems like a high price.

Some time passed, Mavis left the guild to avoid killing anyone, met Zeref again, did all the gushy falling in love stuff, kissed him…and dropped dead. Zeref dumped her with Hades, Precht…whatever he was going by back then. He put her in the basement, froze her in the crystal and that turned Mavis' body into one big battery of magic power.

A source of unlimited magic…I bet Edolas would like to get their hands on it…but still no wonder Zeref wants it, the things he could do with that power.

"They call it Eternity Magic." Mavis said finishing up "Magic that would never run out, The Etherion the Council has, with Fairy Heart they could fire it over and over again without waiting for it to charge, it's a little hard to explain all of it. I mean humans have always struggled with the concept of infinity."

"So that's what Dad wanted." Lauren said "Can't say I blame him a source of unlimited magic, it could tempt anyone."

"But why would Alvarez want it?" Elfman pointed out.

"They already have enough power." Mira said.

"They want it to take out Acnologia." Mavis explained "That has been Zeref's goal from day one."

"But from the other angle we need that power to defeat it too." Cana said.

"This is becoming a bother." Laki sighed.

"If it's so powerful can't we just use it to beat Alvarez?" Happy asked "Acnologia too."

"He has a point, that was my idea when the FACE bombs were going to go off." Gramps explained "But by doing that we'd no longer be able to control the Etherion now that it had infinite magic."

"So basically, we've got a big bomb under the guild, one that could destroy the world." I sighed.

"I'm sorry." Mavis pouted "My mistakes have come back to haunt all of you."

"What are you crying about?" Gajeel said "Falling in love isn't a sin."

"It was just a weird coincidence that all those things happened to you." Mira smiled.

"Without you the rest of us wouldn't have Fairy Tail." Michelle smiled "So you did that right."

"We wanna protect what you built so we'll fight!" Wendy cheered.

"Seems this is our final answer." I smiled "We fight."

"MHM!" Mavis whimpered whipping her eyes.

"Master Mavis fought for the person she loved." Juvia cried "It's…so sweet."

"That was a long time ago." Mavis explained "Zeref has become a threat to mankind, we have to defeat him."

"We hit a snag at the immortality part." I said "Zeref can't be killed."

"Then how?" Erza asked.

"Leave it to me!" Natsu yelled "I've been saving something special just for the occasion!"

The coming battle…it has me terrified and excited.

"Alvarez will be here before we know it, there's no time to waste!" I yelled "Start planning and setting up communication networks! Someone get that cannon out of storage, hurry up we don't have all day!"

I laid out a map and sat down with Gramps and Mavis as people began running around "Let's get started."
