After finding his way to the dungeon, Scrooge ran to his nephew. "Uncle Scrooge!" Donald and the kids cheered.
Scrooge adjusted his hat and gave Goldie a smirk. "Smart thinking there Goldie," he said.
Goldie blinked her eyelashes. "I do what I can."
Scrooge inspected the doors to the cells. He held the lock in his hand then frowned. "It's locked. Donald, did you happen to see a key?" he said, turning to face his nephew. Donald glanced around, then shook his head.
Goldie leaned her hands outside of the cell and blew a strand of hair out of her face. "I've got this," she said. "Scrooge, open my cell door."
Huey, in the other cell rolled his eyes in disbelief. "Okay, I know that it's magic but surely it's not that easy," he said. Scrooge opened Goldie's cell door, and she stepped out. She leaned against the wall and made a face at the red triplet. Huey deadpanned. "Nevermind."
Goldie moved to leave the dungeon. She took her first step up the stairs, hands on her hips. She smiled to herself, until Donald cleared his throat. She spun around to face him. Scrooge tapped his foot on the ground and the kids crossed their arms. She rolled her arms. "Alright fine. Scrooge, open their cage too," she said.
Scrooge nodded in thanks and opened the kids' cell. The kids were reunited with their uncles and smiled. "Now, let's go get that lamp from Glomgold," Dewey said, holding his posture in a brave way.
"Doesn't he have a wish left?" Huey pointed out.
Webby shrugged. "Eh, I'm sure he'll waste it on something stupid, like a lifetime supply of Pep," she said with a chuckle. Dewey and Huey gave her a look. She held up her hands in defense. "What? It sounded like something Louie would say," she said, following the boys up the stairs. Donald and Scrooge went after her.
"For the record, I'm still not reversing my wish," Goldie put in, leading them.
Louie and Della stepped into a large, echoey room. There was a long red carpet with a gold trim laid over the marble floor. It led to a large green and purple thrown, the ugliest shades you could imagine, probably neon. There were several doors that led into this room. Four tall pillars held the room up. A giant stained glass window was behind the throne. The image in the window was an unsettling one of Glomgold in Roman robes, in awkward poses. Della cringed at the sight of it.
"Where are we?" Louie asked, taking in the room.
Della wanted to look away from the stain glass window, but she couldn't. "Either a really weird dream, or we've found the heart of the fortress," she said. She shook herself from the disturbing art when she heard voices.
"Are you sure this is the way?"
Della's face lit up. It sounded like Huey. The voices went on.
"Listen, I'm the treasure hunter. I think I know what I'm doing."
Goldie.
Della and Louie smiled as Scrooge, Donald, Goldie, Huey, Dewey, and Webby came through one of the doors. When Louie caught sight of Goldie, he ran into her arms. "Mom!" he cried. Goldie knelt down to his level and squeezed him tight. Della rolled her eyes then walked to meet the rest of her family.
When Goldie and Louie separated, the green triplet turned to his brothers and friend. He rubbed his arm nervously. "Guys..." he began. Huey, Dewey, and Webby waited for what he would say. "I'm sorry for leaving you. I was scared and-" Dewey gave him a hug before he could finish, taking Louie by surprise. After a moment, Louie smiled warmly and hugged Dewey back. Huey and Webby joined the hug too. The kids fell on the floor and all laughed.
"Well, well, well," a voice said, interrupting the moment. They all turned to see Glomgold step through one door in the back. He slow clapped, and everyone glared at him. Gene followed in after Glomgold, arms crossed.
"Glomgold! Give us the lamp," Scrooge said determinedly.
Glomgold shook his head and clicked his tongue. "What? Yoo think I'm going to just give it to yoo because you asked? What kind of villain do yoo think I am?" he said.
Goldie put her hands on her hips. "Well, he's no Magica," she remarked, nudging Scrooge. He nodded smirking.
Glomgold narrowed his eyes. "What!? How dare yoo! I am ten times the villain Magica will ever be!" he shouted. Then he gave Gene a look. "And I'll prove it. Genie!" he said.
Gene's arms sagged and he gave Glomgold a look. "What is your final wish?" he asked, then added under his breath, "Thank goodness it's almost over."
Scrooge, Goldie, and Louie jumped up. "Wait! Don't!" Scrooge said, taking a cautious step forward.
Eyes locked on Scrooge, Glomgold made his third wish. "I wish I was more powerful than Magica De Spell!"
"No!"
Gene clapped his hands together. "Shabooie!" he shouted, purple smoke forming around Glomgold. Then Gene disappeared himself in a puff of smoke back into the lamp.
Dark purple magic orbs appeared over Glomgold's hands, and he let out a maniacal laugh. "I can feel all the power! Mwahaha!"
The family and Goldie watched in awe as the crazy billionaire wielded the magic.
"No! Now we can't get him to reverse his wishes!" Donald said, beginning to panic.
Glomgold began launching magical orbs at them, causing them to scatter. A flaming ball came straight at Louie. He ducked and ran for cover. The duckling slid behind a pillar, panting heavily. He peaked around, just a orb hit the pillar. He jumped in surprise and just missed it. Then he tried to look again, this time being careful for orbs. Glomgold was laughing like a maniac, shooting orbs all over the place. Thankfully, his family was managing to dodge all them, due to there being no rhyme or reason to any of his fires.
He caught sight of Della, who was following behind Donald. She tripped over the carpet, smacking down on the floor. Glomgold fired an orb at her direction. Louie's eyes widened. "Della!" She looked up just as the blast came for her. Thinking fast, Louie jumped out from the pillar and pushed her our of the way. The orb shot inches away from them, leaving a scorch mark on the floor. Louie and Della looked up at Glomgold, who was gearing up to fire again. Della pulled Louie close to her.
Suddenly, the Sun Chaser crashed through the window. It ran straight into Glomgold, pinning him against the wall. The lamp fell off of his belt, skidding across the marble floor with a clink.
Della and Louie got their feet and watched as the plane hatch came open. Launchpad stepped out, a little wobbly. "Sorry to crash the party," he said before falling on his face.
Beakly came out, rubbing her head. "How have we not fired him yet?" she asked.
Della shrugged. "Oh, believe me, uncle Scrooge has tried," she said.
The plane tipped over as Glomgold burst from the wreckage. His whole body was glowing with a magic aurora. His eyes were bright purple too. "Idiots! Yoo think a plane crashing into me is enough to stop me!" he shouted.
Dewey stepped out from his hiding place, behind the throne, and made an awkward face. "Well..." Glomgold shot a blast at him, but Huey yanked his brother back just in time.
"That's it! No more going easy! Today, McDuck, I finally kill yoo and yoor family!" Glomgold said, aiming his power at Scrooge. Glomgold took the shot, sending Scrooge's top hat in flames.
"Oi! That was expensive!" Scrooge yelped.
Glomgold went into another frenzy of blasts. Louie ran out of the way, sliding on the floor. He couldn't risk standing up and making himself an easier target. He hid under the plane wing, and apparently Goldie had the same idea.
"What do we do, mom?" Louie asked, worry on his face.
Goldie, on her stomach army crawl style, thought a minute. "The only way we can stop him is if he reverses his wishes," she said.
Louie frowned. "But he has no more wishes to reverse them with!" Goldie bit her lip, considering everything. "Mom?" Louie said, staring her in the eyes.
Goldie wavered a bit before sighing. "I- I can't think of anything..." She set a hand on Louie's shoulder. "But you can."
Louie was taken back. "Me? But- But-"
"Louie, if anyone can find a loophole in this magic, it's you," she said, a determined look on her face.
"But I can't remember," Louie said, holding his head in his hands.
"I'll reverse my wish," Goldie said, smiling warmly at him. The boy's face lit up. She held out her finger. "But, on one condition," she said smirking.
Louie clamped his hands together pleasingly. "Yes! Please! I'll do anything!" he said.
"I'll reverse my wish if you promise you can get us through this mess," Goldie said, then she ruffled his feathers. Louie thought a minute, his mouth open. Then he nodded, replacing his fear with courage. They shook hands and smiled at each other.
Goldie sat up, sitting crisscross. "Now, the only thing is..." She looked around anxiously, Louie doing the same. Both their eyes landed in the same spot. "The lamp!" they cheered in unison. It was sitting idly on the floor, just a few feet from them.
Louie's eyes wandered and he spotted Huey near the treasure. "Huey!" he called. The red duckling was on the floor, hands over his head, trying to shield himself of any magic orbs. Huey looked up. "The lamp!" Louie explained.
Huey's eyes followed his brother's gaze and spotted it. He nodded and got to his feet. He grabbed the lamp and held it over his head. "I've got it!" he shouted. Glomgold shot a look in his direction. Huey tensed up, realizing his mistake. Glomgold came charging at the oldest triplet, sending Huey running. He held the lamp over his head, screaming.
Glomgold pulled a whistle from his pocket and blew hard. Several sharkas came and surrounded Huey. He jumped back in surprise and held the lamp close to his chest. He looked around for escape, backing away from the sharks in parkas. Donald jumped over the shark and used himself as a human shield for his nephew, putting his arm over him.
Webby saw her friend and climbed on top of the plane. Waving her arms around, she called, "Huey! Over here!" He looked at her and threw the lamp in her direction. It hit the side of the plane and fell on the floor. Hand on her hip, Webby deadpanned. "What kind of throw was that?" she asked.
"I'm not good at sports, okay?" Huey said, back against the wall. The sharkas snapped at him, causing him to whimper.
"Who taught you how to throw?" Donald asked with a laughing, looking to Huey. He opened his mouth to say something, but Donald held up a hand. "Don't answer that."
Webby rolled her eyes and jumped down from the plane. Picking up the lamp, she smiled. Glomgold, seeing the lamp had switched hands, targeted her. "Uh oh," she said, eyes wide. Glomgold shot some more magic at her. Taking up her dagger, she deflected the orbs. She did a few back flips to distance herself. She landed at the edge of the carpet and it slipped out from under her. She fell on her back and winced. She threw the lamp just before Glomgold used his magic to transform her into a Quacky Patch doll.
"Webby!" Beakly cried, catching the lamp. She exchanged a look with Scrooge. She tossed him the lamp. "Get this to Goldie. I'll cover you," she said. Scrooge nodded and ran.
Picking up a piece of broken plane, Beakly blocked the magic. Scrooge raced for Goldie. Goldie climbed out from under the plane wing and waved her arms. Beakly began to get sloppy when the blasts came to quick. Glomgold's grin widened when he shot the metal out of her hand. She gasped before regaining her composer. She took up a fighting stance.
"Don't be so stone faced," Glomgold said, before hitting her with magic. She turned to stone in an instant. Glomgold caught sight of Scrooge and aimed his powers. "Why don't you chill out Scroogie," Glomgold said. He shot Scrooge, forming ice around him. Scrooge slid up to Goldie, and she smirked at him. Scrooge rolled his eyes through the ice.
Glomgold shoved Goldie to the floor and yanked the lamp from the ice. Goldie glared at him as Louie helped her to her feet. "I won't let any of yoo have the lamp!" Glomgold shouted.
Dewey jumped up and kicked Glomgold across the face, causing him to drop the lamp. Glomgold recoiled and Dewey flipped back. The lamp slid to land at Launchpad's feet. The pilot picked it up and rubbed his head. "Anyone missing a lamp?" he asked.
"Run Launchpad!" Dewey called, seeing Glomgold lock his gaze on LP. Launchpad took off as fast as he could. Glomgold went after him. Dewey followed, keeping an eye out for his best friend. Glomgold was starting to gain on the clumsy duck.
"Launchpad, over here!" Dewey said, jumping up and down. Launchpad threw the lamp over Glomgold's head, landing in Dewey's hands. Glomgold directed his attention to the blue triplet. When Glomgold got too close, Dewey passed it back to Launchpad. It all became a game of keep away, tossing the lamp back and forth between Launchpad and Dewey.
Finally, Glomgold had had enough. With his magic, he formed flying ropes. Dewey jumped up to catch the lamp, but instead the rope tied itself around his ankle. He was suspended in midair by the rope, letting the lamp fall to the floor.
"Dewey!" Launchpad cried, just as the other ropes tied around him. He lost balance when they tied around his legs and he fell over.
Glomgold picked up the lamp. He spun it around his finger with the handle and smiled. "I'll make sure clan McDuck ends today! With Scrooge gone, Goldie will be mine, and I will be the luckiest, most powerful, most EVIL man alive!" he shouted. Goldie and Louie cringed.
Della smacked the lamp out of his hand with her prosthetic leg. "Keep away from my family!" she said, hacking away at him. Glomgold formed a magical shield to defend her blows. Della was persistent and kept on trying to land a hit.
Glomgold used his magic to make a gust of wind, knocking Della over. It was fairly easy due to her only having one leg. She quickly reattached her leg and jumped to her feet and started punching at the shield.
Glomgold summoned up his powers and sent a purple wave of energy at her. "Sorry, girlie, but yoo're out of time."
Della glared at him and ran forward. "I'll hurt you so hard you'll wish-" Della was interrupted by a blue portal opening up and taking her back to where she had started. Della glared at him and ran forward. "I'll hurt you so hard you'll wish-" Della was interrupted by a blue portal opening up and taking her back to where she had started. Della glared at him and ran forward. "I'll hurt you so hard you'll wish-" Della was interrupted by a blue portal opening up and taking her back to where she had started. She was caught in a time loop.
Louie and Goldie exchanged a look. "We're the only ones left," Louie said, his hands trembling. He looked around for a solution. He caught sight of the lamp, which was just a yard away. He looked back at Goldie.
She nodded. "Go. I'll distract him."
Louie ran for the lamp, but Glomgold was after it too.
Glomgold was stopped by a whistle. "Hey Glomgold!" Goldie called. He spun around to see her standing on top of the plane. She had her hands on her hips. "I'm the one you want. Come get me," she said. Glomgold went for her, leaving the lamp unguarded.
Louie slid to the lamp, scooping it up in his hand. He smiled brightly, looking at his reflection in the gold. Then he nodded to himself and threw it in Goldie's direction. She jumped up to catch it and Glomgold jumped back in surprise.
She rubbed the lamp as fast as she could. Gene emerged in a puff of smoke, arms crossed. "Oh great, you people again," he said sarcastically.
Goldie raised an eyebrow. "I'm going to pretend that comment didn't hurt," she said.
Louie, Huey, Dewey, Donald, and Launchpad glared at her. "Just make the wish already!" they shouted in unison.
Goldie nearly dropped the lamp. "Alright, alright. I wish to reverse my wishes!" she said, closing her eyes.
Gene replaced his look of irritation for a smile. "Finally. Shabooie!" he said, clapping his hands loudly.
A strange sensation came over Louie. He looked to everyone as all his memories flooded back to him. His mouth was open as he reminisced of all the times with his friends and family. Living on the houseboat with his brothers and uncle. Moving in with Scrooge and Webby. Meeting the uptight maid Beakly and the crash happy pilot Launchpad. The way he felt when his mother returned. His first scheme with Goldie, when they went to Doofus' party. It all came back.
Louie's face lit up. "I remember! I remember everything!" he cheered. Then his expression changed into a weirded out one. "Wait a minute. Did I seriously call uncle Donald dad?" he asked.
Dewey smirked at him. "Yerp, and I recorded the whole thing!"
Goldie passed the lamp back to Louie. "Now fix this Sharpie."
"Enough!" Glomgold shouted. He stomped up to Louie, holding out his hand. "Give me the lamp."
Louie gulped. "Oh, right. We still have to beat Glomgold. Oh boy," he said. He smiled sheepishly. "Any chance you'll let us leave peacefully and you reverse all the spells you put on my family?" Glomgold shot a magical orb at him. He just barely ducked underneath it. "I'll take that as a no."
Louie ran from Glomgold, all the while trying to devise a plan. Loophole, loophole. Have to find a loophole! The only way to reverse the wish is for Glomgold to wish that, but he has no more wishes left. How would he reverse it? Think Louie! Think!... Wait a minute! That's it!
Louie slid to a stop, Glomgold staring him down. Louie glared at him. "Gene! I wish..." He closed his eyes. If this didn't work, it would all be over. "I wish for you to reverse all of Glomgold's wishes!"
Glomgold let out a laugh. "Ha! That's your master plan? Only I can reverse my wishes, and I can't do that because I have no more wishes left!" he said.
Louie smirked. "That's not entirely true. Gene also has the power to reverse wishes," he said. Gene appeared next to Louie.
"Actually, he's got a point. You see, the only way you're able to reverse wishes is through me. So, instead of wishing to reverse your wishes, he wished for me to reverse your wishes," Gene put in. Louie nodded.
Glomgold put his hands on his hips. "That couldn't possibly make a difference! That's such an insignificant detail!" he said.
Louie stood on his tip toes to be eye to eye with Glomgold. "It's the insignificant details that count," he said slyly.
Gene rubbed his hands together. "Shabooie!" he said, before clapping his hands, activating his magic. A swirl of purple magic went over the room.
The magic orbs Glomgold had been holding disappeared in a matter of seconds. "What! No!" he yelped.
Goldie stepped over to Louie and ruffled his feathers.
The walls of the fortress started to crumble down now. The sharkas surrounding Huey and Donald disappeared one by one with a pop sound. Beakly and Webby turned back to flesh and Scrooge melted out of the ice. Della stopped repeating herself. The ropes tying Launchpad and Dewey disintegrated. Dewey was dropped from up high, but Launchpad caught him before he hit the floor.
Soon all that was left were the family and Glomgold in his cheap living room. The family glared at him and he held his hands up defensively.
Louie looked down at the lamp in his hands while the adults dealt with Glomgold. The kids were outside on the street. "Wait a minute! I still have two more wishes left!" he said. He put the lamp in his hoodie pocket and rubbed his hands together. "Imagine all the things I could wish for!
Webby held up her fingers. "You can only wish for two things, so it's not that hard to imagine," she said. Louie shot her a look.
"You could wish for something noble, like world peace!" Huey suggested.
Louie rolled his eyes. "Ugh! Boring!"
"What about something awesome like a race car with lasers and it flies like an airplane!" Dewey put in.
Louie waved off their suggestions. "Nah, nah, none of that stuff is something that I want," he said. Huey opened his mouth to say something, but thought better of it.
Louie took the lamp from his pocket. He rubbed it, causing Gene to reappear. "What are your wishes, young master?" Gene asked.
Louie gave his brothers and friend looks, and immediately they knew what he would wish for. They each began talking over him, trying to stop him.
"Wait!"
"It's going to go horrible wrong!"
"Be careful on the-"
Louie ignored them and made his wish. "I wish for a million bucks!"
"-wording."
Suddenly they were surrounded by deer. Gene raised an eyebrow as Louie slumped. "Should've rephrased that," he sighed.
"Yes!"
"Of course!"
"Obviously!"
Huey, Dewey, and Webby deadpanned and Louie just shrugged. He looked at Gene suspiciously. "You said there are a million of these?" Louie asked. Gene nodded and Louie frowned.
"For your final wish?" Gene asked.
Louie rolled his eyes and bit his beak. "Well, I guess the right thing to do is set you free. Either that or wish for an axe," he said.
Huey, Dewey, and Webby tilted their heads confused. "Why?" Huey asked.
"We have to do something about all these deer. And axe-idents can happen," Louie said slyly. (A/N did anyone else watch the new Phineas and Ferb movie? Was it amazing or what? I got this line from that)
Webby punched Louie in the arm. "We're not killing the bucks," Dewey said, arms crossed.
Louie smiled. "Alright. Gene I wish you free!"
Gene stared at him in amazement and jumped up. "You mean it?" Louie nodded. "Wow! This is the best day ever! Shabooie!" Gene grinned, saying, "Thank you thank you thank you!" Then he waved before flying off.
Beakly kept an eye on Glomgold, who she had tied up while Scrooge called the police. Louie was sitting on the side curb with Huey, Dewey, and Webby. The sky was dark, glittering with a thousand stars. A few cricket chirps accompanied the moment. They looked over the city of Duckberg. At the edge of town, they could see the mansion. Their home. Louie let out a content sigh.
The moment was interrupted by footsteps. Louie looked behind him to see Goldie walking away. He jumped to his feet and went after her. "Goldie! Where are you going?" he asked.
Goldie spun around to face him. "Oh! Sharpie. Well, I guess I'm going home," she said.
Louie folded his hands nervously. "Oh," he said a bit disappointed.
Goldie smiled warmly at him. "I know that look," she said.
"What look?" Louie asked, avoiding eye contact.
Goldie ruffled his feathers. "Don't worry, it's not like this is the last time I'll ever see you," she said.
Louie smiled. "But when will you be back?"
"Whenever I feel like annoying your uncle," she said. Then she added, "Or pulling a scheme with my Sharpie."
Louie's face lit up with an idea. "Wait, don't leave yet. Hang on," he said, before running back to his family. Goldie watched them with a smirk, hand on her hip.
Louie whispered something into Scrooge's ear once he was done talking to the police. Then Louie held his hands together beggingly. Goldie raised an eyebrow curiously as Scrooge sighed. Then they started to walk towards her.
"Goldie," Scrooge began.
"Scrooge," Goldie said in response.
"The lad wanted to ask if..." Scrooge glanced down at Louie. The green triplet had the biggest puppy eyes ever. Goldie smirked, knowing it was another con known as the Doe eyes, similar to Crocodile Waterworks but less intense. Scrooge rolled his eyes at the boy.
"Would you mind having dinner with us back at the mansion?"
Goldie pondered it a minute, tapping her foot. Though, she already knew what she would say, she tried to look thoughtful. "Hmmm," she said. She gave Louie a smile. "I think I'd like that a lot."
