A/N: Hey guys sorry I've been gone. But I'm back now yay. :) I'll try to update more consistently but I just started the school year so ya enjoy. I don't own Fablehaven.

Kendra dreaded this outcome but, She felt butterflies and love for the creature growing inside her. What she didn't know was how was she going to tell her family. For the moment she wouldn't. She would be able to keep it secret for about 3 months. She would tell them only when she had to. She figured after they save Warren and stop the Sphinx from destroying the world that's when she would tell them.

Grandma called Kendra down for dinner.

After Dinner Grandpa called for a family meeting in his study.

"Seth would you like to join the Knights?" Grandpa asked.

"Is that a trick question?"

"No," Grandpa said seriously.

"Of course!"

"It is hard to argue with your accomplishments," Grandpa said. I don't think your judgment has fully matured, but these desperate times require courage like yours, Seth. Rise."

Seth stood up.

"Raise your right hand," Grandpa said.

Seth complied.

"Repeat after me: I pledge to keep the secrets of the Knights of the Dawn, and to aid my fellow Knights in their worthy goals."

Seth repeated the words.

"Congratulations," Grandpa said.

Kendra was so happy for her brother. This probably meant he would come on all the missions she went on now. Maybe she could tell him and he would cover for her. She thought about this for only a moment. She decided that she wouldn't tell any one until absolutely necessary.

3 Months later.

Kendra was actually surprised. Shes pregnant, she can still feel her baby moving and growing inside her belly but, It wasn't obvious yet that she was pregnant. All it looked like was that she gained a few pounds.

She was crying because she is very hormonal and, her brother just got taken by the society. She still hasn't told anyone. Everyone just thinks she is upset about Seth being taken. Warren seemed most concerned about her. She thinks he could have guessed what happened in Sidestep Cleft. This slightly worried her but he hasn't said anything so she figured she was safe.

Kendra was sulking around the yard when Newel and Doren called her over wondering where Seth was. Unfortunately it was The first day of April. So neither of them believed her when she told them Seth was taken. Thankfully Warren came and saved her from this conversation.

He then took her up to the secret side of the attic. Apparently Patton Burgess had left a doomsday capsule for the end times. And they're were tiny engravings on the side that everyone thinks is written in Silvian.

"You need me to translate," Kendra said. "Where is it?"

Coulter led them all to a cabinet that is actually a tunnel to the Doomsday Capsule.

Kendra was able to translate with ease. "Open only in time of utmost crisis pertaining to Zzyzx and the end of the world," Kendra read. "The key to the capsule must be turned by one who shares my bloodline, and an umite candle must be burning in the room, or else the capsule will destroy itself."

Everyone was very surprised by the umite candle information but other than that they were ready. They unlocked it and were surprised to find more Silvian.

Greetings, current guardians of Fablehaven.

You may not be reading this very long after I

visited you. From the evidence I beheld in your time,

the Society was in the final stages of their plot to open

Zzyzx. I have more information that might be of use

to you, but did not want to risk writing all of it down.

I will share what I can. I have learned how you can

use the Chronometer to send up to five people back in

time. The Chronometer will only transport mortals,

and will only take you as far back as the day of your

birth. To clarify, the device will transport any group

of mortals as far back as the day the eldest member of

the group is born. Traveling back in time, you will

not be able to bring any items with you.

Below you will find instructions on how to set the

Chronometer to take you to September 24, 1940, at

half past eight in the evening. If Coulter remains with

you, he should be just old enough to reach that day. If

not, you will have to find a willing participant of the

appropriate age.

Should you elect to use the Chronometer to visit

my time, do so in the attic. I look forward to perhaps

Kendra read the instructions to Coulter. And the whole time he had the biggest smile on his face. Tanu said he would stay behind so Patton could see his relatives. When they went to the past her stomach hurt so bad. It felt like she was having a miscarriage. But when the pain went away, her baby flipped and gave her a little kick so she knew that it was okay.

Patton had put a robe on her shoulders as none of them were wearing clothes. They had a long conversation about how to stop the society. When they returned back half an hour later her stomach hurt all over again and she panicked because surely her baby couldn't take a second round of this.

But, nope her baby punched her stomach like it was annoyed but other than that she felt fine. This whole thing gave her a heart attack. Patton said she needed to speak to the Fairy Queen. They're was no way she could speak to the Queen. She would see inside her head and know her darkest secret.

But there was no way to get out of it so she would go. But it didn't mean she would like it.

The Next Morning

Grandpa made pancakes that morning she ate so many cause she was nervous. The Queen would see right through her. Maybe even not allow her on her island. She truly didn't feel worthy. NO! She couldn't think that way. She had to survive for her baby and Seth.

After Breakfast Warren and Tanu used the Translocator To take her to Stony Vale. They ran into hamadryads but, after talking to them they let her through. She took a deep breathe and walked through. She wasn't killed so that was a good sign. Her baby was still moving so that was also a good sign. She approached the shrine and heard the Fairy Queen.

Kendra, she said into her mind. Why are you frightened.

Kendra didn't say anything. She didn't have to once she thought it the Fairy Queen understand.

No Kendra. I'm not disappointed in you. It wasn't your fault.

Kendra breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you so much for understanding."

Kendra I understand more than you know. But why have you come.

"Seth has been taken by the Society and they are almost done in their endeavors of opening Zzyzx."

The queen was deeply disturbed by this news. She gave Kendra the ability to restore astrids and sent her away. Kendra felt hope for the first time in months.
