Kanji's POV

After the main battle started, I ended up splitting off to track down that Erza lookalike from earlier, it frankly didn't take me too long to find her, someone with that much magic is hard to miss even in a war with so much magic flying around not to mention she'd already found her way to Erza and Wendy.

"HRAA!" Erza slashed at her.

"HMPH!" I crashed down behind them to try and cross her up but she blasted us both away.

How is she so quick?

"HMM!" Erza slid in front of her and made a sword appear between her feet to slash at the woman.

"HRA!" she quickly blocked with her staff and then snapped her hand into a fist to trigger and explosion.

"Static Shield!" I blocked the blast from hitting us easily enough and let Erza out the top to attack.

"Heaven's Wheel!"

Erza used her armor to slash at Irene with a rain of swords.

"Don't relax, that won't be enough." I threw my coat off and warped it away.

"You launch indiscriminate slashing attacks and rain bolts of lightning in innumerable measure, to work so well in tandem, you two are special, controlling magic like that is no small feat." She said walking through the smoke totally untouched, the blades having warped around her "I applaud you, A for effort."

"She fended off all those attacks?!" Wendy gasped.

"She's still just playing games." I sighed.

"Even after being powered up by that girl's enchantments you two could only manage this, is that your best Master Kanji, Miss Erza?" Irene smiled.

"Just what are you?" I asked as she made Erza's swords melt away.

"You still haven't figured it out?" she tilted her head, one eye covered by her hat "You have to at least figured it out a bit right, you're smart, you probably just haven't wanted to accept it Erza."

"I know nothing of you." My wife glared.

"Hmph." Irene smirked to herself "You shouldn't talk to your Mother like that."

This woman…?

"That's a lie!" Erza snapped at her "I was found alone, I've never had parents, not even in a dream!"

"And yet I stand before you." Irene just kept smirking "Truth be told I'm rather indifferent to the idea of having a daughter, I was under the impression you had perished, but fate has led us to be joined her, our whole family tree, the two of us, Dimaria and her kin, it's all sweet."

"What." I glared at her "What did you just say."

"Have you perhaps not seen her?" Irene gave me the most condescending look "I'm sure your mother is around here somewhere."

"Get outta my sight!" I roared making the Thunder Giant appear and slam the ground "GAH!"

"You're a bitter little son-in-law aren't you!" she made my giant vanish and blasted my arm.

"Kanji!" Wendy yelled quickly healing me.

"It doesn't matter who either of you are, interfere and harm my guild and you are my enemy." Erza said.

"I could say the same, for someone who defies my Empire." Irene smiled "Child or not. However, it would be most pitiable for you to die in ignorance of your birth and its secrets."

"I have no interest in such things." Erza said.

"Don't be so cold, indulge me." she said.

"Silence!" Erza yelled.

"HMPH!" Irene stopped her in place as she was a step away in an instant "My full name is Irene Belserion, The Queen of Dragons but that was 400 years ago."

"400?" Wendy and I were both confused.

"Back then dragons still roamed the world." Irene said "Now then listen Erza, and you two little girl, in my time war broke out and my side was losing so I invented Dragon Slaying magic to turn the tide."

"You created Dragon Slaying magic?" Wendy asked.

"At first my plan was a grand success, the tides turned in my favor…" Irene paused "Until the drawbacks finally surfaced. Their humanity was gnawed away, driving them mad…or in some cases driving them into becoming something…other. At that irreversible time for me, I was already with child. Erza's father was a general, but a miserable man, even more so for a political marriage, and with Acnologia arriving and claiming victory for himself, I began to lose faith in humanity. At the time I protected myself though all that humiliation, torture and more, all for you, until I lost my patience and lashed out, embracing the dragon inside me and laying waste to all of them who insulted me."

"I detested that body!" she growled "But after a few hundred years, with my biological body paused I met someone who with but a snap of his fingers, restored my body…but it was only in appearance, food had no taste, sleep brought no rest, everything was wrong and unnatural, until I remembered something, I was human and I could give birth to my human child…a body."

"You bitch." I felt sparks crackle off me.

"It was so simple it was actually stunning it took me so long to realize it, I could just enchant myself onto my child!" she laughed before sighed "But you were a total failure, it proved impossible to enchant myself into my spawn. I lost interest, and threw you out like the trash you were in that middle of nowhere village."

"Y-You're a monster!" Wendy yelled.

I looked at Erza, she didn't seem all that phased.

"I suppose I should thank you for bringing me into this world." Erza shrugged "Without that I wouldn't have been able to meet my friends, and have my own child, but unlike you, I plan to not see my child grow up, I plan to stay with her, that…that is why I will not lose to you!"

"I thought maybe if I talked about the past my feelings might change." Irene sighed "But…nope."

She snapped her fingers and triggered an explosion that Erza dodged and ran in only to be blocked.

"You can't seriously think you can defeat me with your power?" Irene laughed.

"It's not just my power." Erza told her "But our power."

"Thunder Dragon's Heavenward Halberd!"

"Sky Dragon Wing Attack!"

Wendy and I both crossed up Irene and cut her sides while Erza broke her guard and slashed her.

"You actually managed to hurt me." Irene slid back.

"I won't forgive someone who doesn't love their child." Wendy glared.

"Oh little one, you heard me talking didn't you, you'll end up like me someday." Irene smiled.

"Yes, but my mother protected me from the Seed that changed you." Wendy said "And it's the same for my friends too."

"To think there was a way to prevent Dragonification." Irene growled "My dragon died in battle so I sought to avenge him…IT'S NOT FAIR!"

This was her biggest blast so far, enough to blow us all, and some rubble, back.

"If you hate being alive so much." I flashed behind her with Wendy's enchantment "I'll send you to hell then!"

"It's game over." Irene said as I blasted her in the back with my lightning, frying her clothes "I've always understood, why I failed that is, because Erza and I were related I couldn't succeed, but is it truly impossible to enchant oneself into another body? It just requires compatibility. I simply needed the body of a youthful one, perhaps a dragon slayer enchanter like the one right in front of me!"

Her body dropped before me, as if it was dead.

"WENDY!"

"I've waited such a long time, my magic power is lower but that won't be a problem." Wendy said "A new life, a new body, thus I am born anew."
